A few years ago I had them do some rust repair work to my truck. The truck belonged to my father who passed away so I wanted to bring his old truck back to life. It meant a lot to me. None of the work they did lasted. You can see in the pictures there’s no clear coat left, body panels are showing through and it’s rusted again. There is even spots where primer is showing through. I will have to spend the same money I spent here, at another shop getting it repaired again. Even if they wanted to make it right, I wouldnt let them touch this truck ever again.
I had Phil do work on my 1996 Mazda 626. Was told he was going to cut the entire rocker from tire to tire, and weld in a new sheet. What I actually got was three large patches welded on each side that are uneven and clearly looks like a patch job. There was hardly any tack welds on the panel and they arent even ground down. The patches lasted for a year and a half and I religiously get my car washed especially during the winter. Waste of $450.Going to get an actual rocker panel from RockAuto and have my neighbor cut and weld it again.
Terrible work. Paint did not match. And they did not remove the rust. Rust was back in 3 weeks. Paint quality was horrible. Stay away. Zero rating was not an option or I would have given them a minus 10!
I was referred to Rust O Rama by a AAA driver. Phil, the owner seemed like a nice guy and you came off as being experienced and very knowledgeable in the auto repair field. I brought my Jeep Wrangler in which Id just purchased to get a crack in the frame fixed. During the initial inspection he pointed out rust on the front fender bottoms that should be addressed, I agreed. He quoted me $950 for the job.The good: The crack was fixed but only a small amount of what I was told is POR 15 was applied. He touched up areas on the hood and fenders where the clear coat was missing and surface rust was. That wasnt in the initial work contract and was an appreciated plus. Brake lines in rear protected by rubber hose. He also fixed a rust area on the top driver fender which I was going to save to fix myself.Cons: The inside fender metal was left raw and the left side fender molding doesnt lined up anymore. I was charged $250 dollars per side, I expected them to protect the insides as well. Next is his organization, he called me a day before it was done to ask me which area of the front fenders we talked about doing and what price he had quoted me. Below are pictures of every area he worked on. He used a rattle can which I wasnt thrilled about. Phil agreed on the phone to fix the mistakes after some raising of voices. Due to my distance from him and my work schedule I was never able to drive back and get him to do the corrections or get an invoice.Break down: frame repair $450- welded plate to bottom/applying rust inhibitor(including dropping and installing the gas tank, driver/passenger fender bottoms $250x2.I would advise anyone getting work done anywhere to take pictures before of every area being worked on, ask for progress updates, then get a printed invoice. Initially I gave four stars because the owner agreed to correct the mistakes, he never followed up after I called him, so three stars is my final review.
I do not usually write reviews but was so happy i just had to when i got referred by a family member to Rustorama . i went on line and checked their reviews...well i found good and bad . ..mostly good. knowing the type of work that i just saw my brother get done at the shop i went ahead and had them do my rocker panels.. well i am here to say they changed my rockers and cab corners on my pick up and painted them.as good as new... love it. and it only took 2 days like they said it would ....very happy customer! thanks guys.. .
Consider finding somewhere else unless you’re really under the gun. Rust and rot is already appearing on the ‘repairs’ done to my rockers. The owner is all happiness and lights until you question the work performed. Then you get yelled at over the phone and he acts like he was doing you a favor, even though you just gave him money to perform a service. Cash operation, no paper trail.
Guy was great, friendly and upfront about work needed and quoted true. Work was done quick and to expectation.
Phil and team were exceptonal, I highly recommend as they went above and beyond repairing some wheel well rust and undercoating truck. Truck looks new, paint match is perfect. The rust was just starting to show itself and only other option was having body shop replace quarter pannels or whole bed but rust was only minor so not only saved thousands but avoided having quarter pannel cut from bed and then new one welded on.
I took my 2003 Chrysler PT Cruiser GT over to get rust work done. Phil quoted at least a grand to fix the the rocker panels, quarter panel on the right side, and the bumper support on the rear, which he couldnt do and told him I understood, I can replace it myself. What I was not happy with was when I told him basically that I am in no hurry to get the car back. Take your time on it. He never touched it. So after phone call and approaching him a few times to see how it was going, it wasnt in the building. Ive waited two months to get the car back. Just to drive for a bit and then sell... Now I will probably never be able to get rid of it. When I said take your time on it, I didnt mean dont stall on me for months when you say youre busy, but you clearly have died down in work and still havent touched my car... He did a really poor job. Only sprayed one coat of paint on each section I told him to focus on, and it came out to be a disaster. Had to redo the body all over again after what he did. I will never recommend this business to anyone or anybody I know who needs rust repair. Thanks a lot for wasting so much of my time and money.
My floor boards were rotting and had some rust issues on my fender. All repairs were done quickly and at a fair price. Young guy working there was super friendly! Highly recommend!
I have a ford F 350 super duty. I had Phil replace rockers Fender bottoms fix my door And reattach my running boards. There were falling off because of the rusted rocker panel. There were Honest and on time. The work looks good and I would recommend them.
Phil is an excellent businessman you gave me a date I showed up he called me up work was done beautifully they have awesome technicians very professionalexcellent excellent and very precise bodywork and paint these guys are amazing seen them working on a couple restorations in their personal car ofseen them working on a couple restorations in their personal car of Phils they are very talented an honest businessman very proud to say I went to rust o Rama
Phil did excellent work on my 1993 Toyota pickup in August 2015, he fixed two frame rails that were rusting through and also fabricated a cross member support for underneath my truck bed. This was inspected by Sullivan Tire 3 months later and passed with flying colors. Thank you Phil for a quality and affordable job very well done, because of you my truck will now see 400,000 miles and beyond!==========2021 Update: So 5 years later at 460,000 miles, Phils work continues to keep my 1993 Toyota pickup going. Just had the frame rails and areas behind the doors repaired prior to this years inspection. Really appreciate Phil helping me with a proactive approach!I need to bring the truck back for Phil to do some more preventive work - POR-15 on surface rust underneath. Im sure that will put the truck back to 100%, thats the kind of work he does.Super happy - truck is all ready for my 300 mile trip to the Allentown Pinball show tomorrow morning, and I have no doubt it will make it there and back just fine. Or anywhere for that matter!5 years down the road & Im still a happy customer. Phil is the guy you want to bring your vehicle to, he will always do a great job thats how he rolls. Thank you, Phil!
Not very happy 😰
I just got my car back, 3 hours earlier than quoted!!! They did a fantastic job, I dont even want to let my 3 kids back in it!!! It smells great and Im in love with it. I had just an interior done. I will definitely be back in the summer for an exterior!!!!
Great customer service. Affordable prices. High quality work. You can tell that they actually care about what they do, thank you very much for everything would reccomend to anyone!
Went here to have the rocker panels on my 2002 4runner repaired. Price was completely acceptable and you get another $50 off for your first time visit. Not only were the repairs excellent but they sealed up some areas around the wheel well without changing the quoted price. Definitely recommended to anyone who isnt sure where to go.
I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy. If I could give a negative grade I would. First they con you to pay cash for a “better deal” when the work is done. And it’s done poorly. You question anything they start yelling at you and saying how much of a deal they gave you and how they were doing you the favor. Place is shady for sure. Maybe if they spent less time ripping butts and yelling at customers. Maybe even finishing the job correctly! I wouldn’t have them fix the rust on my shed door!
I heard so many Wonderful things About RustORama in Derry from my local mechanic . He suggested I go to see them when he noticed I had frame Damage to my Chevrolet Silverado . Well as it turns out we had other damage also, the rocker panels were completely gone they took care of the frame rust and new rocker panels with cab corners for almost half of the estimate we received elsewhere. The owner Phil explained everything in detail before hand . Which is something that you don’t see very often, most places will throw an estimate at you and you are unsure of exactly what you are going to get done. When we picked up our vehicle we were overwhelmed,, the work was completed In three days, with new paint our truck Has a new lease on life for a price we could live with. We felt inclined to leave a review for the simple fact that It’s nice to see A company Do what they say they are going to do and then some. Thanks again to the guys at RustoRama
Was referred to Rust-O-Rama by a friend of mine because my truck wouldnt pass inspection....So I brought it in for rust repair on my rocker panels and wheel wells. I thought it was going to be too expensive to fix but Phils estimate was very reasonable. So I had the work done and Im glad I did! My truck looks like new again! I Would definitely recommend Rustorama!
Best rust repair shop. Great customer service. A great fix on my rocker panel. I highly recommend Rustorama.
Excellent work. Prices are fantastic, friendly staff. Hardworking and honest owner. Would recommend to anybody looking for good quality work.
Phil was great about getting my sons car in to his shop in a timely manner and went above and beyond in the work that needed to be done. Would definitely recommend Rustorama to anyone needing this type of repair work!
HIGHLY disorganized shop. Waited for multiple phone calls back (after having dropped my vehicle); but ended up chasing this guy for days. Finally, I just drove up there and brought my car to another shop.Btw, call around to other body shops and ask them about this place. Not great reviews!!My car is done now and I’m glad I went with another shop.
I was very happy with work that was done. Everything was completed as agreed upon and even did a couple extra things. Looking forward to getting many years out of my Jeep with no rust problems. Any of you jeep guys having rust issues get the POR service done and have no more worries. Thanks again!!
Phil’s a real pro. His prices were fair and he knows his stuff. He earned a customer for life.
I called and got an answer on a Sunday!!! I explained my situation and Phil allowed me to drop car off for him to fix when he got back from Florida.( apparently after 5 years he was in need of a little respite) He fixed the car ASAP when he got back. It looks really good (2006 volkswagon Jetta) that needed work to pass inspection. Price was so reasonable and done in 2 days. I would recommend this establishment to anyone looking for a great job without costing 1000s.
I brought My Van into Rustorama in order to pass inspection and Phil did an excellent job at an affordable price. I was impressed, happy and grateful! If you need quality body repair work done quickly at an affordable price give Rustorama a try and Im sure youll be glad you did.Sincerely,Fred Tappan
Gotta say, brought my equinox here thanks to my local mechanics recommendation.... I was not disappointed. Fast service too. Quoted me one one lower frame jobs. After further looking into found the other was also no good. Still did the work to both but upheld the orriginal quote. AMAZING!Phil was so proud of his craft he brought me under the car to inspect it. Absolutely phenominal. So happy. What a gift you have me friend.
I had more than one car repaired at RustORama. Prices were very fair, and all work was done as explained. One car was 25 yrs old and needed lots of work. Newer car had hidden rust, found after work was started. Phil called me, explained the situation, and because he was already into the area, the extra cost was minimal. I am very pleased both cars passed inspection with no problems.
Should have listened to Justin. Called around to get estimates from a few places and Phil was the cheapest, even drove from MA to get the work done. In retrospect, wish I went with a local body shop even if it was a few dollars more as youd break even in the end. The paint was a rattle can job. Of course you dont find this out until the end and he claims that hes a rust repair man, not a body man. He claimed he told me this beforehand - not true. With a 4.0 GPA at BC, I think my memory works just fine especially when Im paying a few thousand dollars for a job. I can also already see rust through an opening in one of the corners of the rocker panels too. The entire inside was supposed to be coated with POR-15. Oh and if you question him, he just yells at you even when youve been nothing but nice. All cash, no paper trail, no problem!
They do quality work at reasonable prices Ive had 3 of my vehicles done and recommended them numerous times with out any problems
Had some work done about 10 months ago. Hes a nice dude. Did a good job on certain aspects of the job. I think the rocker ends he shaped looked great. However nothing he has done has really stood the test of time. All the rust was clearly not removed the first time. I see multiple areas where there is rust that should have been removed. The biggest area i am disappointed with is behind the wheel wells. He was supposed to close it up and weld it but instead all he did was basically clamp the metal together and bend it so it could be considered closed. There was no welding done there and as soon as i got the car home i could see areas of light coming into the trunk from the areas. It has since gotten much worse and the car only saw maybe 100 miles of driving in the winter this year and it was falling apart before snow even flew. I could have bent the wheel wells too and made them appear to be fixed but i didnt want to go that route so thats what i figured i was paying for. It was a fairly big job. The car had a fair share of rust. But his business is fixing rust. I really wish i knew ahead of time thats what he was going to do because it really wasnt a fix at all. Just a very temporary get by at best. I think he did a great job fabricating pieces when he did, i just wish he fabricated some nice pieces to actually fix the wheel well rust like i thought was the plan.
Very unprofessional. Came from Mass, got an estimate for rust work on my truck and we agreed on a specific price for specific work. I dropped my truck off the night before my appt. The next morning I got a call from him. He stated that a good chunk of work that WAS listed in the estimate, would be a few hundred more. Not what we agreed on. Also, if you have any questions, be prepared to get yelled at. I could include much more, but Id rather not waste any more of my time.
Had some repairs done at rust o rama.I have to say the service an comuneacation was realy wonderful. I had called around for prices he was most reasonable.fit me right in had to b done fast for my inspection. Would deff go back or refer him to anyone thanx phill.was a pleasure.
Worst business in rust repair. my friend had work done but does not know how to use a pc, so I am doing his review for him. he got bad work done and horrible customer service to boot. Dont get fooled by this guy.
