We were visiting our son who lives nearby, so went to this store multiple times in a week. Unlikely others, my wife and I had no problem with security following us around. All the employees were cheerful and helpful, especially the nice young gentleman that served up my fried chicken meal. What is goofy is the entrance. You have to enter and exit through the parking garage, with cars also going in and out. Usually a few people hanging at the entrance, who are obviously down on their luck.
Excellent customer service. Sonya, the girl at customer service was an amazing help and King Soopers should feel blessed to have an employee such as her. She should get some recognition for her service to this stores customers.
Bob is so rude how is someone that rude able to work customer service and retail? Appalled. This King Soopers always has the worst service but wow.
Don’t come here unless you want to be followed by the security guards like you are stealing. Absolutely disgusting then when I spoke to the supervisor Ryan he was super rude told me I was lying etc. my family owns a chain of supermarkets would never treat our customers like this. Will not be back rather drive across town then come here. Great customer service…
Overall a dark and kind of dingy air around the store with the only entrance from the street being Starbucks it can also be hard to find. If you live near by I wouldnt say not to shop here but I wouldnt make more than maybe a 5 mile drive to get to this King Soopers. This location is great if you live in the Denver metro area and are just looking for someplace to shop on a budget.
The hot deli person working at noon today was very rude an unhelpful. I take it she doesn’t have much experience in customer service. I normally love the staff and service at your store. I’ll have to reconsider shopping here if I get this type of service again..
Just left King Soopers here in Denver after what was a very trying day for grocery store workers everywhere yesterday. Every single person we saw was positive, caring, and cheerful. The team at this store is wonderful. They make you feel at home, even if it is a grocery store. And they always go the extra mile (a gentleman brought some asparagus from the back for us). You guys made our day. Please know the way you do your job matters, and we appreciate it.
One of my fave King Soopers next to my favorite dispensary (The Green Solution), my Bank (Wells Fargo), and even a pet store! Parking can be a little tough some times but store operations are good!
Fantasic experience Quincy @ the customer service counter was polite curtious & served my needs in a professional manner. He offered me a King Soopers card to try to make my cigarette purchase cheaper i declined because i dont buy cigarettes their too often but i felt honored that he went out of his way to ask me that. I bought a monthly bus pass sometimes the pass is tough to tear out without ripping i asked Quincy if he could tear out the pass for me without hesitation he did pulled it out perfectly. We also chatted about the Broncos. Anytime your @ King Soopers on Chestnut Downtown Denver & Quincy is working you will be treated like a person
Nice store for downtown. Lots of homeless hang out outside. They had to change their closing hours from 2 am to pm the crime was so bad.
The Pharmacy is unprofessional and very shoddy at their job. My last dose of my very important medication that I need to deal with my very severe Crohns disease is now late for the SECOND TIME because of the pharmacy. Last time, they couldnt be bothered to alert me that I needed prior authorization and no they hadnt done what every other pharmacy does and contacted my doctor. I was supposed to do that, duh! So I did, and I asked the pharmacy to please alert me in the future so I could contact my doctor in a timely fashion. But I didnt trust them, and it looks like its a good thing! Because I called last week and four days ago asking about my next dose, does it need authorization, do I need to do anything? Nope, they said, everything should go through no problem. So when it didnt come in yesterday I called in today... Needs prior authorization. Im already skirting the Needs to be admitted to the hospital line and didnt need the stress or the added health problems caused by delaying my medication AGAIN! Medication that is VERY DEPENDANT on being REGULARLY ADMINISTERED! And were they sympathetic? Nope, in fact they acted annoyed and just kept going, Yep, nope, need authorization. Thanks, King Soopers, for leaving me high and dry and miserable.
We have lived above this King Soopers for 3 years now. Building residents have thier own private entry and distinct carts. I take the cart right up to my kitchen to unload my groceries. We are moving out of this area soon and I feel that nothing will ever compare to this experience. NOTHING!!!!!
I believed this supermarket in our town since they have all I need with regards to food supplies. Their clerk is lovely and engaging to clients. I truly adored this store!
They respected me and didnt ask questions to and just let me go about my business
For a downtown grocery store I think it does exactly what it needs to. Staff is friendly and helpful and normally has what I need. It does get very busy and sometimes there are large lines that form when trying to check out. I wouldnt rely on the King Soopers app as it is usually wrong (this is more of a HQ problem than this location specifically).
Change hours to close a hour earlier!?!? That’s a good way to accommodate and assist customers.
It’s decent for a downtown location. It has all the essentials as well as a Starbucks. I live nearby and if I ever want more groceries than I can carry I’ll go to a location in the suburbs because parking is beyond atrocious. If you must park, go very early in the morning or late at night.
Literally impossible to find a way in. Walked around 2 times and every door says “emergency exit only, go to main entrance”.It should not be this hard to find the door to your store. Literally no sign.
The store is nice with a good selection and ok parking but dear Christ is their pharmacy slow.
Great location. Always a few police officers in the store. You need a code to use the restroom. Its a smaller King Soopers. The side entrance and pharmacy entrance from Chestnut are permanently closed. A great helpful staff, all the regular grocery store items, and lots of self checkout lanes that are well supported. Made to serve an urban population, most customers only buy what they can carry home.
It was different from the other stores more on price but clean and a lot of security and cops to watch the exits and entrances
Poor, rude management. When confronted as to why the doors could not be opened as advertised they responded with curt, insulting, and demeaning responses.Furthermore, do not ask to speak to management via an employee. They will not get one. You must find one and hope they are having a good enough day to hear you.
The place was immaculately clean and friendly. Fresh meat, fruits, vegetables, and dairy products were also available. In addition, the items I needed were comprehensive and of high quality.
Last night there was no clerks to chk out. Only self chk avail. I asked for a checker amd was met by an angry cashier that was on break and would not take me. Another cashier appeared and said he would take it. After he chkd me out i was talking about how biased the first cashier was. Afterall, he helped another woman in line but refused me. The cashier told me not to never come back. They make their customers a problem and then cause a problem for their customers
Great store! Nice helpful people. Great choices in products.
The assistants at the cheese counter are always so nice and helpful! Thank you!
You need a code for the bathroom. Thats wrong . The entrance is closed except for the parking garage yet the majority of customers are local or ride the bus. There is usually a little bit of a line but its not easy to know where the end of it is. Sometimes big fights start for no apparent reason. They take care of it but its a little more than I would like to endure just to get a few groceries. If you have options use them. Its not worth the sideshow. Some people dont mind that. Im just very uncomfortable there and they dont have anything you cant get anywhere else.
Y’all should go ask Walmart for pointers on where to find good App Developers because King Soopers is looking like the “Great Value” version of Walmart! Why does your app say a location has a product but when you get there, the employees say that this store does not carry that item? It’s funny how even the app drops a pin in the location...If your app wouldn’t have told me that the product I went out of my way to search for was at my closest location, I wouldn’t have been so mad. I just would have went to the other location. I wouldn’t even be as upset if it was sold out. BUT, the fact that it’s NOT EVEN carried at this location is problem.
I am a customer of this grocery shop for many years and I can say that they are consistent with their service. The parking area is really good, grocery supplies are in good quality, its a bit expensive than other grocery stores but here theres not much of a wait at the counter. I like the fresh seafood section and the can goods section. Highly recommended!
The pharmacists are super helpful and kind!
Always clean and stocked. Staff is friendly and helpful. We go once or twice a week. Safety protocols are followed and enforced.
The location is great but try to avoid peak hours as it becomes very busy. The store itself seems very squished compared to other King Sooper stores. Ill usually only go here for essentials if theres anything I need and thats just die to the awesome location. For a proper grocery shop Ive started heading to one of the other King Sooper stores.I also dont have phone service in this store which is a little annoying.
Worst King Soopers store of all. Many items not in stock for days or weeks, absolutely useless.
Employee pages manager for an override twice finally get someone to call back for the manager to say itll be 7 minutes before she can get a barcode for an override everyone in the line at the Starbucks left dont waste your time at this location
Fabulous produce awesome employees
The least you could do is show your hours on your website This is the second time they have changed the hours at the service desk It says its open till midnight its open till 8:00 It does not open at 5:00 It opens at 7:00 in the morning therefore I am a day late on my rent when trying to get a money order this is ridiculous that a company of this size cant manage to change the hours on their website
April in the Deli made our day! We had a last minute order for our corporate meeting today and the food and service was fabulous, friendly and helpful!!
Great produce and clean facility. I personally like the variety of meats this location provides. For some reason the other ones arent as abundant.
I like this location, staff is great, but the homeless constantly camping nearby and outside make me feel unsafe, otherwise would have given more stars.
Staff at the hot bar are almost always rude/too distracted with another task to help you for several minutes. Was ignored by literally 7 employees today for 5 whole minutes until the older lady finally asked, do you need something? No, Im just standing here staring at the food..Another guy making my sandwich fist bumped a gloveless customer and continued making my food without changing gloves right in front of me. Appalling. I didnt ask for it to be remade as I only get 30 minute breaks and waited 10 for a simple cold sandwich.
The store was clean. There were plenty of stuffs available here. Their staffs were very friendly, whenever I asked them a question about the product they answered me politely. Thank you so much!
From fruits and vegetables to family care products and beverages, this supermarket has it all. Being a customer, the place is filled with so many products for your order placement will be an easy task. The store also offers services such as a discount and instant customer support.
First timer here! First impression was cool! I loved my shopping experience at King Soopers
Bathrooms are out of order. Aug. 23, 2021.
Hire enough staff to actually have a register open. All self check out after 8 pm.If you can’t staff properly, close your pathetic store.
Better then other King Soopers.
A standard king soopersa bit dirty but its because of the high volume of foot traffic. But staff are friendly and has really chill vibes.
Great location! This is a smaller grocery store so it doesn’t have the wide selection that the suburban location has but it certainly has everything you need. I love the bulk section! They even have grind your own peanut butter. And Steve, the cashier is the best! He is so enthusiastic and makes my day every time I see him!
Manager is rude and does provide quality customer service.
As a popcorn chicken enthusiast, I have to say, King Soopers has some of the best and cheapest popcorn chicken that I have ever had. I would wake up in the morning, yearning for their exclusive culinary delights, only to thankfully find their shelves stock full of them. I still have dreams about their popcorn chicken and I would heavily endorse any other popcorn chicken lover to come here as well. Keep doing the Lords work King Soopers.
No stock, empty shelves. Morning staff are angry. Manager needs to get it together.
Great store. Love the staff. Such a great location.
Oh you know I love me some King Soopers. They just do business the right way. Used to annoy me a little about the most convenient door getting locked at 8, but were over that. Love the convenience and the prices, would be sick to get a fuel center downtown though. Only thing that could make it better.
Dontel in the meat department was very helpful and asked if I wasted frozen shrimp because the shrimp that was out was frozen and defrosted. He took pride in his work and gave exceptional customer service. Thank you.
Staff at king supers on chestnut st in denver were so rude, I wont shop at any Kroger property ever again. Safeway now has all my familys business
So... Im not the biggest fan of King Soopers to begin with, but they are trying to become more artisan. And this King Soopers is really nice. However, went to deliver counter to by a full pizza. Wanted something that was easy and off their menu. Waited 10 minutes to get served after deli workers were finished with their conversation. Then it was going to take another 10 minutes to make the pizza. This was fine; I had shopping to do. Then, I go back 10 minutes later and they hadnt even started preparing my pizza yet. Let alone baking it! She didnt even talk to me about it. Just went about her job casually putting my pizza in the oven when it should have been ready. I dropped the rest of my groceries in the car and came back for my pizza, at which point she told me that she didnt have any big boxes and would have to individually box each slice, meaning, by the time I got home with the pizza, it would be cold. Get it together guys!!
Street parking only at this location! The “parking lot” that’s supposed to be for customers is 90% full 24/7 by people that live in neighboring apartments. I’ve come here at 8am on a weekday and been unable to find parking, even though the store is empty. Hmmm. So if you can find a parking spot at a meter, than the store is pretty good, but otherwise don’t waste your time.
Awful management. Very rude. Buying groceries is a necessity, being horribly berated after a simple request to not break all my eggs is not.
Randomly closes early
Nice grocery store with Starbucks coffee inside. Pro tip: restrooms require a code, so ask before you walk to the back where they are located. Also, plenty of self checkout stations for quick items.
There is quite the selection here with many good bargains to be found! It was my first experience with a bathroom door that has a code, but an employee kindly helped me with it. I like that its a Kroger brand store, so my discount card from home worked!
Great experience, very clean
Easy to navigate grocery with friendly and helpful staff. The produce is fresh and the lines at the checkout arent extraordinary long, if you time it right. They offer free covered parking for all customers. Great place to stock up on groceries for the month or for a quick snack for dinner on your way home from work!
I rarely write negative reviews, but I experienced perhaps the worst customer service I have ever received at a grocery store. I appreciate people who are working, despite the risks of COVID, but the cashier did not help one bit, which I understand may be a COVID rule, but he also threw my groceries into a pile and kept the belt running while I was desperately trying to bag my $100+ worth of groceries. They were also spilling into the person before me and we couldn’t figure out which items belong to which person. He didn’t try to stop the belt or help or anything, instead, he started trying to ring up the next person and just loudly apologized to them for us taking so long. My bags were breaking, by bread was crushed, and I was humiliated. This was a terrible experience.
I wish you kept the chicken fresher. I sure like hot food on my lunch break. Boy oh boy sometimes that’s well beyond whatever the timer should be. Dry chicken and the employees know it. The bosses expect them to keep bad product under a heat lamp. I have been stuck with eating lunchables and various cold foods as I no longer want to waste my time on lunch from work waiting in line only to see that there are only a few super crunchy dried out chicken tenders. I am discouraged every day that the chicken isn’t fresh. I am personally offended by the chicken. It honestly makes me want to go vegan thinking about how often there is wasted chicken tenders at this location.
I like this place there price are reasonable and its always got what I needed. I went there few times already and I will go again
This specific location is very convenient downtown. However they have some major issues with store management in and around the store. First outside in their parking lot there are homeless people sitting right outside the doors, something that needs to be addressed more frequently due to smell and such. Second for the 10-15% more you pay for downtown convenience they should have a better check out, easier ability to use the restroom and friendlier staff. Their check out lanes are rarely staffed and when they are, are very slow due to the large number of people in them. They have plenty of self check out lanes, but rarely someone to manage it. This is such a pain to use, I usually have to call over the person for the self check out at least once even if it is something simple. When the employee does come over they are less than friendly or helpful. If you are quickly getting items and don’t care about price it is great but save yourself the pain and go somewhere with friendly staff and easy to navigate store.
The customer service has improved greatly. These are organized and there are always people ready to assist you and you look like youre lost. and when theres something you dont want they do have a sticker that gives you the substitute item for free because they didnt have what you ask for... Make sure you ask the worker for that sticker and they are glad to accommodate. Management has changed and its a great place.
I shop at this location every week. I have always had great customer service. Wanted to give a big THANK YOU to Lonny for his exceptional customer service!! Really appreciate his honesty and kindness! You just dont know how you saved my day! Thanks guys!
Quite possibly the worst custkmer service Ive ever received. CSR agenrs need to learn more about how the company works. There is a deep lack of insight and zero desire to be responsible.Management looks for a way out or a corporate scapegoat instead of trying to solve problems. All in all, terrible experience
This grocery store is very convenient, it has a small selection and gets insanely busy at times, where you wait to check out for 15 minutes. But it has 8 self check out lanes, which is great, their pharmacy is fast and their deli and meat counter is fresh. Great spot to grab some food on the go or do your grocery shopping. But dont come here for variety. Very limited international food options like Asian or Indian sauces, dont even bother looking for Mediterranean or European food. Overall it is satisfactory and the winning component is its conventions location.
Google asked me to write a review for a grocery store so here it is: Friendly people, convenient downtown location for me. Parking can sometimes be a bear. Good selection for a smaller store.
I would give them five if their deli counter didn’t always ignore me/act like they don’t see me there waiting
Good selection of produce and dry goods. The butchers are friendly and helpful. Clean and staff is patient, parking garage is a little scary though. Larger vehicles will have a tight fit and spaces are sparse during busy hours.
Parking is pretty impossible at busy times of day, and there arent really alternatives if the metered street parking is full. The pharmacy hours dont start til 9am, which is pretty inconvenient, but the pharmacist is the most helpful and nicest guy!
DO NOT BUY FLOWERS HERE! I am convinced they are only stocked with older flowers as this is the 3rd time in less than 3 months I have purchased flowers and they are dead and wilted in less than 24 hours. Such a shame as this is my splurge purchase I make only to have to throw them out first thing the next morning.
Pretty good selection for a downtown store. Reasonable prices, cheaper than Whole Foods by far, also cheaper than Safeway. Free parking adjacent if necessary. Bakery is not great, I would steer clear of the muffins especially.
I would avoid shopping here, they frequently put cans of beans on top of bread and eggs. They also put other heavy things on breakable things. The manager I talked to about this problem did not assure me the problem would be fixed. I stopped shopping here due to the staff and manager being unhelpful
Good staff, has a good selection for a smaller sized King Soopers. Only complaint is parking can be difficult to get on weekends or during lunchtime on weekdays. Otherwise a great location.
I love this grocery store. Extended hours for my hectic schedule, such a convenient location, plus the employees are the nicest!! Tim tonight helped me select, weigh, as well as bag my fresh produce!!! Cant beat it. 5/5
Very busy and only 2 checkers
Security likes to follow you around. If your a fast walker you can have some fun with them. Just change directions allot. Exact opposite are best. LoL!
This is a nice grocery store! The staff are friendly and helpful and its location is great. Some of the sections are a bit smaller than the big King Soopers stores but they are always well stocked and this store carries more of the custom brands and higher quality items. The health section carries many reputable brands of organic vitamins and beauty products for example.
Im not sure all the reviews for this location are about this location, but it is the best supermarket downtown. Not as large as locations that have the space to spread out, but it has what you need in one place. Only complaint is that they never seem to have enough cashiers. If the self checkout was equipped to take large orders, this wouldnt be an issue, but theyre small and when I asked about where I should put my bags when the rack was filled I was told I should have gone to a cashier with a large order. Only downside to an otherwise great store.
Not only a good place to go for groceries, staff are very helpful and friendly. Jamal and Joseph where really helpful when I got confused looking for a certain spice.
Great location to a lot of overpriced apartments downtown. Since most people are house poor they can save some money here instead of eating at the overpriced mediocre at best food in this wanna be San Fran city. Its clean, fast lines has a Starbucks inside(of course) and you may even get a date since the clientele in the area are young, single professionals, usually from out of state living in places that resemble hotels more so than homes.
Great deli, Sushi bar, olive bar, and soup bar. A great place to grab a bite to eat. Very clean. Fast and friendly staff. I go here before work when I work downtown. Decent portions and selection of goods. Soup bar is neglected. Out of cups, spoons, crackers, lids and soup on cold days.
I can see this place from my apartment. Im here almost everyday. Its busy morning to night. Ive been here at all times of day and Ive rarely seen every register open. I see lines down the aisles 5 days a week. The staff is fine and quite helpful, but there just doesnt seem to be enough of them at any time. They dont carry a few specific items I used to buy from other King Soopers. Also, their pharmacy only carries one version of any given medication because they can only buy from one wholesaler. This can be problematic for some medications and insurance plans.Their location is prime, and Ill be going for a while because of that. However, I know there are going to be other- hopefully better- options soon.
A unique King Soopers. Selection is not as big as others but they have many specialty items. Large Deli, sushi bar, and Starbucks. Lines can typically be very longer due to many micro transactions occurring. Parking can also be hard to come by, but this is designed for people from the downtown area to walk/bike/bus to the store.
Finally, an actual grocery store in the area! This part of town was bereft of a true grocery store for far too long; glad it has finally been rectified.King Soopers is usually King Soopers. They are always about the same, from Lakewood to Denver to Colorado Springs and everywhere in between. This location is along those lines. They do have a nice sushi bar, an awesome deli/prepackaged foods area, and the feel of the place as a whole is nice.It is clean, well-kept, and has a pretty nice staff. Ive seen the GM/manager on the floor helping out with cashiering and stocking; I love seeing management get down and dirty with the hourly staff.I see and hear negative things about the parking situation, but I think that is par for the course with the LoDo area. I walk here whenever I come by, so cannot comment on that, but I wouldnt be surprised.Good spot.
Fantastically located three blocks from the Union Station, this King Soopers is probably one of the fancier ones. Boars Head Deli, in house sushi, a place for fancy cheeses, fresh made desserts that came from a culinary students textbook, and thats just in the entrance! Good prices and selection, lots of healthy and organic brands, as well as good service. Its worth just browsing in if youre Downtown.
I have been in this store many times. Even applied. I live downtown and a chef. I dont need to be treated like Im an idot or homeless person. The front end attendant and police officer qanna correct me and talk down to me. No.We are all dealing with whats going on and dont need to be talked down. I waited 6 ft and then to be told 4 times.
You need to get an employee to let you in the restroom. However the store is immaculate and it has covered parking. Theres a Starbucks in there and a very nice young lady who is new to Denver working there.
I can always get in and out easily. It clean well stocked with helpful employees
