The employees are great. Unfortunately, the rest of the store is an open encampment. Its more of a homeless and RV park than a grocery store. I asked a homeless person that parked their trailer outside of their store and they said Safeway said I can stay here. Before corporate comments that theyre on it, they are not.

I like that they have a Starbucks inside. I have not used it. But I like the idea. This Safeway has good selection. I always find what I need. -Except cherry roll-ups, but thats so specific to me that its reasonable to order those from Amazon. The perils of suply and demand when youre weird like me. 🤣😅

The store is ok - I’d say slightly below other Safeway’s around Denver - but the parking lot is always dirty every single morning. I understand Safeway is not causing the issue, but it is your responsibility to keep the area clean and safe. Please start cleaning the parking lot and this review will change in the positive direction.

I know grocery stores have it tough right now but this might be the worst produce section Ive seen. Consistently out of everything or the quality is terrible. Frozen section is always empty. Meats. Ghost of a grocery store.

Great produce, meat, and seafood. I really like the variety of cheese near the deli. Sometimes parking is an issue and the service desk usually isnt staffed so prepare to wait. Checkout is always quick no matter how busy it is.

Store is nice, but this dude in an RV was harassing me and other customers. Went back and the dude in the RV just lives on their lot so guess I wont be back

Good place, little pricey but cant win em all...great place to get gas of they have the gas station at the particular location, which they dont at the one on Almeda but just thought Id add that comment anyway. Good place to buy soda and water, usually on sale and better price than at kingsoopers.

The pharmacist was the nicest and most professional person. I ran out of 2 medications because I had to extend my visit. He helped me get the meds I needed and notified me within an hour that my rxs were ready to pick up.

Safeway located at 26th and Federal, Denver, Colorado, is a very nice, clean, well stocked grocery store. There is also a gas station at this location.

Safeway is a good store to do your shopping although I went running in the morning and it was still stuck in the shower but other than that theyre a great store

I feel so bad for the employees the amount of theft they have to see, plus being understaffed dont help at all, i use to like to shop there but now i only go if i absolutely have to,but other then that i feel like its to far gone with the homless running in and out and hanging in front of the store some are pretty aggressive.the bathrooms are disgusting i just hope one day safeway can get the help they need cause they need it .

They made us fresh chicken strips and potato wedges. I ordered 3lbs chicken and 2 of potatoes.

The pharmacy staff here is fantastic. ive never had such positive experiences with a pharmacy. everyone is super kind and helpful. in particular brandon always answers the phone with a cheerful attitude. ive used CVS and Walgreens for years but will stick to Safeway from here on out!

The store manager is extreme. The way he treated minority petitioners versus white petitioners says a lot. Accusing colored people with receipts of stealing too. Not welcoming. Threatening the police over minor situations is dangerous and really uncalled for. Not sure his name but the manager has some bias issues to address. On another note their bathrooms are ALWAYS the most disgusting smelly places. Speaking From experience road stop bathrooms are cleaner and when you inform them they ignore you.

Walk here nearly everyday. Their app has turned me into a coupon addict haha 🤦‍♀️😬

The Pretty Lady that runs self checkout in the morning is the Best

It was clean however the staff needs to learn hospitality like greeting customers or seen that customers need help. But the store overall was organized and cleaned

Store is set up very strange. Employees at registers would rather ignore customers, they finished their conversation and walk away. None of them asked if I had a question. Restroom appears to be the spot where the local aluminum bandits deposit empty packaging for Reynolds wrap and other random products. They dont even care to put them in the trash. Just a pile in the corner. No toilet paper or hand towels. Gift card floating in the toilet. 2 out of the five things I bought where mis priced.. wild wild experience. Never going to that one again

Every weekend theres 1-2 cash registers open with lines going halfway down the aisles. It seems that this store is understaffed each time we shop. More cashiers and employees who can assist would be beneficial for customer retention.

Closing the set of doors right next to self-checkout before 7:30 PM is less than ideal.

This was my first time going to Safeway, and honestly it was one of the best shopping experiences I ever had. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Especially that one girl who was working on the 3rd register. I think her name was Pilar or something like that. She was awesome. You bet youll see me more often.

Safeway is double the price with a on sale sign . Just do the math and you will see yourself. If its not double its the price and a half more on pretty much every item.

Some stuff that you cant find at kings, but just cant deal with all the shady individuals who hang out right outside like its a hangout out spot to see who they can con some money from.

Nice and friendly people.

While there are some great employees, the store always feels dirty somehow, the produce and food is of lesser quality and it’s pricier. I live, 0.3 miles away but it’s almost always worth the drive to king soopers, Costco or even the trek to Trader Joe’s. The signage over the pharmacy after the remodel is really descriptive of the whole place as whole.

Deli selection was worse than a 7/11. Parking lot is one of the worst in Denver

2 hours in line for a vaccine even though I had a scheduled appointment. Missed 2.5 hours of work (if you add driving and waiting 15 mins for any effects). No explanation given concerning the delay. I dont blame the people working though. There were only 2 of them doing a 4-5 person job (checking folks in, giving the vaccine, dealing with other prescriptions, running the register, etc). It was unprofessionally handled. I hope I can go somewhere else for my second dose.

Staff is always nice and polite.Store is clean and pretty organized, really nothing bad about the store.Only issue I have is that Certain products is always out of stock.You go there one day and it’s there, then it won’t be there for 3 weeks.That’s not a reason not to go or take 1 star away.

Parking can be a little cramped on a busy day. Inside the store is open, bright, and neat. It my grocery near work and often stop by when I didn’t bring a lunch.

I like this clean location. Close to North Denver its convenient. They have gas here too. Id give it 5 stars if 1 single person spoke to me. I looked for biscoff for 30 minutes and couldnt get help.

Always been an awesome store, have spent a lot of time at this store over the last 5 years and the staff has always been cool and Acted right towards me and my wife. Theres great managers and staff here, they keep there store well maintained and running smoothly.

Visited the freezer section. Disgusting! Floor had tons of standing water, so much freezer buildup I couldnt bring myself to buy anything. Gross!

This time it was not as good as usually. Almost dry zucchini;assortment range in a stationary department ( I needed one small ruler and I couldn’t find it);empty shelves in a cheese department, so I didn’t buy what I needed; absence of price labels for nail polish etc. The service team is without change, always polite and always helpful.

In the pantheon of grocery stores, Safeway occupies that limininal space between convenience, value and somewhat depressing experience. The depression is an amalgam of the high price youre paying for produce for the mostly underwhelming shopping experience and the frustration of attempting to balance three grocery bags on the automatic check out scale that wants to keep track of every item purchased. A lime escapes and it shuts you down until a understandably bored attendant restores proceedings.All this said if you live in the Highlands neighborhood and youre just not feeling Sprouts and Wal-Mart seems just too much of a departure to the dark side, then this Safeway on Federal could be your salvation. Theyve got a unexpectedly well curated selection of living decorative plants and Safeways signature spaghetti is actually pretty good.

Safeway is a great store prices are great and the 5 dollar special is great for a family

Decent grocery store, alright mask enforcement. Cannot for the life of me figure out what hours the butcher is open for though. Been coming for years and 90% of the time nobody is even staffing that counter. Those deals on meat are the best part of coming to this store, so it is a shame that the store undervalues this service.

This is a small neighborhood Safeway, so the selection is smaller. However, the selection is still good and covers everything I could want from a small local store. The staff is friendly, the store is clean, and they do everything they can to make you feel comfortable shopping there during Covid.

Extremely small selection. Over crowded. Mask enforcement is non existent. Aisles have arrows which are pointless. Customers are rude & have no courtesy for others trying to shop. Had a gift card otherwise I would have left without purchasing anything.

Store is nice... but the restrooms.....the restrooms are FILTHY. They either dont clean them at all or they dont clean them often enough and if thats the way they operate during a pandemic I cant imagine how it was before...

Pasta and cereal purchased here, has had compromised packaging and bug infestations. They also keep shopping baskets by the self-checkout instead of the door, which means your likely to pick up a basket that has not been disinfected, or get too close to exiting customers, in this pandemic.

Its a grocery store, nothing special

If I could give -9 stars, I really would. 1st, the older lady thats usually at self checkout with the glasses & ponytail, is there when Im there, always has a major attitude. Well this time she accused me of stealing as im going back into the store from self checkout. I wouldnt normally leave a review. But the manager was totally dismissive & borderline rude herself. Needless to say. I wont back. I think this really sad. Im always in that store. They know my dad personally. Disgusting. But... I guess they are ok with being that way now.

Love this place

This is the place to shop. The produce is always fresh, the aisles are always stocked and they usually have more than a few loaves of fresh French bread. The gals at the bakery are great, really, they are one of the main reasons I love to shop here. Even when its busy they always are nice to me even when I come up just to get my bread sliced. Nowadays its hard to find employees that go the extra mile for their customers but this Safeway has found a few. The selection of meat could be better, but thats the only thing I found that could really use improvement. I want to add that this is the only store (not just Safeways) have I seen one of the Executives, (you can tell its someone high up, though I dont know exactly what he does), still in his suit, stocking shelves, helping out the deli, bringing out case upon case of pop from the back. This guy really does the dirty work and you can just tell he doesnt have to. But he is smart enough to know that sometimes, for the good of the company, everyone needs to help out. These employees are lucky to have a boss that aware and down to earth. Bravo for this place.
