Love Love LOVE this place! I thought the coffee was great (had the creme brulee) and their Apple cider is addicting! I finally just recently had their food and what the hell took me so long I dont know, but their food was DELICIOUS! I had the Leela with bacon on a croissant and IT WAS BOMB! It’s a nice place for a late night run. I really wanted some hot chocolate at 11pm and this was the closest place to the hotel. It’s a bar and a coffee shop all in one. They serve food also. So it’s an all in one place. I ordered 2 hot chocolates and they where both cold. The bartender re-Heated my hot chocolates but they weren’t as good as I was expecting having paid $10 for 2 hot chocolates. The hot chocolate was just a few pumps of chocolate with milk mixed in. Definitely not worth the $5 per cup. I wasn’t satisfied at all. Basically waisted my time and money here but the ambiance was ok.

No idea who Leela is or if theyve ever been to a cafe in Europe but this aint it, chief. I was actually on my way to Denver Diner but walked by and curiosity got the best of me. Upon walking in I wasnt greeted with a smile, hello or anything, just a blank expression. Asked if their kitchen was still open, she just vaguely pointed at the bar where the menus were. O-K. Later I heard the bartender and who Im assuming were her co-workers speaking Russiannto one another. This might explain the ice cold customer service and bland food. The prices in this place and the quality of food you receive dont match up at all. Ordered an omelette that was so forgetable I dont remember what was inside of it. The fries had definitely been sitting around for hours. The OJ was the only decent part of the meal. Mediocre food, horrible service, and an overall cold atmosphere. Denver deserves better. I would avoid like the plague and head to more welcoming diners with infinitely better food for more reasonable prices. Denver Diner, Sams no 3, hell even Dennys or IHOP are leagues better.

In town for a trial lawyer conference and was looking for a spot open early for coffee. Very glad I discovered Leela. A great change of pace from your standard coffee shop chain. The service is friendly and the serve high quality LavAzza coffee. Also loved the classic music they play.

With all the coffee accoutrements I figured itd have a decent Americano. Holy cow, no. Wayyy too much water. Stick to booze if you go here.

Sometimes I get hungry in the middle of the night and Leelas always hits the spot. Ive ordered breakfast at midnight and a burger and fries at 3am. The staff is great at handling any order and its always came promptly. Really extraordinary food and beverage that is in the right portions to fill me up. Sometimes I get off work at 2 or 3am and its nice to know I can go to Leelas.

Delicious coffee in European style. We had latte and machiatto. Recommended for those that dislike Starbucks. Nice and friendly staff.

I hope this place does not go anywhere or change too much! A spot where everyone is welcome, offering a truly old world vibe and menu. If you are too busy to enjoy your morning-go to Stirbumps but if you want something unique go here. (Also, they have a full bar and can modify any coffee/tea) great happy hour and best of all-open 24hrs.

Whoa! Dont be fooled by the aesthetics of this place. Its one of those hole in the wall joints. This place was recommended by the host at the hotel. She didnt lead me wrong on some other suggestions so I followed her directions. Glad I did because Leelas chicken wings are greatness. They look, taste, and crunch like theyre kettle fried. I hope I can sneak back there again before I leave Denver. Yes!

Awesome spot! Have been a regular for years. Whether youre looking for some great coffee or an adult beverage, you cant go wrong The food is tasty as well. Rad staff, ecclectic community, legit music; all in all, a great place to relax and unwind or get wrapped up in thought provoking, or occasionally mind-numbing, conversation. 🤠

Not bad for 24 hour service. They do tend to cater to a tougher crowd. A lot of homeless roaming through there at odd hours. I give them credit for giving back. You order at the bar, seat yourself and wait. No table service.

I got the chicken panini and it was not great would not order it again. The fries are good though. I also enjoyed the mocha I ordered. Nice enough place to study despite being a bit dingy. I would come again for coffee and studying but would probably skip eating here.

They changed from a 24 hour cafe to having set hours. Its just annoying after a decade of going there at 3 am to do work and eat french fry mounds (they orders big yall). Also espresso drinks are amazing.Cool bar. Great staff. Mostly just, why are you not open at like 7a?

Perfect niche place to chat with friends, do homework, read a book or just chill. Personally I find it to be the ideal study spot, since there’s 24-hour service, including delicious food, drinks and wifi. I don’t even live near Denver and I found this place by chance while passing through. Highly recommend.

Leela European Cafe is an adorable cafe with great food and drinks. The staff is always so friendly and welcoming. It has a very relaxed atmosphere where you dont feel rushed to leave. Its open 24 hours a day so its a great place to go after clubbing to grab some food. Their prices are very reasonable for the area.

I love Leela! It is my favorite late-night place to hang out. Its a bohemian cafe that serves booze, coffee, tea and bar food.

Rip leelas. This was a super nice low key spot to hang after hours in Denver for decent food and drinks. Unfortunately it is now closed due to covid-19.

Ive never had the food, but I hear good things. The drinks are okay, the staff is usually busy and this makes it hard for them to be friendly. Also, this place attracts a lot of scraggly and seemingly homeless people, but thats Denver. The music usually too loud to have a proper conversation and the employees seem choose the music, so you never know if its going to be to your liking. Its okay, but there are better places to go. It seems they -like most privately own bars- give their boring drinks fancy names to justify upping the price. Not worth the hassle. Dont sit outside, either. Youll be bothered by anyone walking by to ask you for money. Usually homeless, sometimes not...

I asked them to warm up a bagel and put cream cheese on it and they brought me a rock hard bagel that in edible. I asked them to remake it brings me the same bagel after calendar covers rock hard I could not eat it.

Leelas, a 24 hour coffee and cocktails joint, locally famous for its bohemian flair and excellent coffee and tea beverages (the chili cheese fries arent to be sniffed at either) benefits from its warm and open atmosphere, its smoking-friendly patio, and the tasteful, contemporary music which plays till dawn. With some more firm direction, Leelas could host and nurture a Denver art scene far more robust and meaningful than that which exists now by simply organizing their late night patrons, who are generally impoverished, if not homeless, local artists. Instead, alas, Leelas has seemingly become jaded to their clientele. The result is a hip place with an unwelcoming vibe, and hardly concealed contempt for customers after 1am.

One of my favorite places in Denver. The staff is incredible. Cassie is so kind and attentive to all customers! Theyre open 24/7 which is great. Their chai is so pretty, and tastes amazing! And I really like their fries as well.I wish they could figure out a way to make it safer though. They have an open door policy, which is nice, but allows loiterers to harass customers even while inside the cafe.100% recommend if youre looking to get to know Denver and all of its people. This is a super fun and accepting place, run by a staff who genuinely care about their customers.

Id have to say that being open 24/7 in Denver is, in itself, worth 4-Stars. However, Leelas is legit! Make your way into this spot for a glimpse into the reality that is the culture of the city... Most visits on my end have been in the wee-hours of the morning (aka, a late night out), and I can say that there is a lot of interesting action in a city that so many believe is just dead after midnight. This is my preferred spot for a bite during said hours. There are only a few other options, and while theyre certainly not bad by any means-- Leela has a menu that is more diverse and tasty in my opinion. Love it!

Found Leela’s at 3 AM desperate for food. Had a pretty good burger and fries and was so thankful for a kitchen open that late. The server was awesome and she handled some drunk rowdy patrons so well! Got our food quickly and all in all good experience.

This was my first time at Leela European Cafen and I would like to say overall 5 stars to the cafe. The girl at the bar is very friendly and the fries were delicious. A good place to come and study. A plus is for a college student it is affordable and close to campus. I will be coming here more often.

One of my favorite places. I will drive 30 minutes for their chai tea. And I have. It is a great place to study or unwind after drinking downtown as long as you arent a rowdy crowd.

Open 24 hours, so you can come here anytime to get coffee, tea, or a beer to hang out. They got a full menu that includes French fries and sandwiches, and there is usually cake slices, muffins, cookies, etc. if you have a sweet tooth. This place is somewhat laptop friendly with plenty of spots to set up a laptop. But there are not many wall sockets, so if you plan to use yours make sure it is charged, has a power bank, or a very long power cord to reach some of the faraway wall sockets.

The owner of this establishment or whatever he chooses to call himself should be ashamed of himself. Never have I experienced service such as this. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOURSELF AND CONSIDER HOSPITALITY A MUST HAVE!!! The workers are fine and it’s a decent spot but the way I was spoken to had convinced me to never return here. Happy hunting for a nice cafe/bar in Denver that treats you like a person.

A little scary at night. Vagrants and smokers hanging directly in front of the door so you had to walk through them to get inside. The furnishings are definitely well used, by the looks of the place, I didnt want to even venture into the bathroom. The saving grace was the very delightful counter staff and the very comforting cup of tea that I got in a nice ceramic mug. I dont think the owners can do much about the locale, but perhaps give a little love to the inside furnishings to bring it up to shabby chic.

Had high expectations based on the reviews and the description of lite fare. I got the New Yorker, the 10lbs of meat on the sandwich was possibly the grossest thing Ive ever tried to choke down. Im Irish so Ive definitely had my fair share of corned beef & I really dont think thats what I got. It also came with a massive amount of fries. While I am sure some people would be happy with more food it was just far too much, if the sandwich was edible itd probably be 3 meals worth for me so a lot of wasted food :( . The staff was nice, service was fairly fast & the place seems cool, I think I would recommend getting a drink there instead. As other reviews have mentioned, there are a few sketchy folks but you gotta expect that in downtown Denver.

Great place for cocktails with a laid-back attitude and atmosphere. Open 24 hours and offers a great menu that allows for breakfast or burgers anytime of the day. The red velvet cake is perfect after a bacon cheeseburger with goat cheese.

This place is super weird, but also kind of amazing. They have great coffee, fun board games, and mediocre drinks. The real draw is that it’s open late and you are sure to meet some interesting people in there whether you are there at 2am or 9am.

I was in Denver visiting a friend on March 1st. We decided to stop in at Leela around 10pm and I had an amazing experience at your café.When we walked in the staff at the bar was extremely friendly and made me feel welcome. I had a few questions about the menu items and the staff was quick to assist me. After ordering we sat down and I can only describe the atmosphere as warm and inviting. When our food was brought out everything was delicious. We spent a few hours at Leela drinking, playing chess, and enjoying the music. Our time at Leela was fantastic.I want to thank you for a great time and congratulate you on having some of the friendliest staff I have encountered anywhere. I will definitely be back in to Leela on my next visit to Denver.

This place definitely is unique. Been to Europe though and not sure about that connection - they say there are places just like this in Europe, hence the name. But I think there are places like this worldwide - So I would call it Leela World Cafe myself. Anyway... Pretty good food, though it can vary by whos cooking. I love that I can get breakfast or lunch anytime! Also - a great hangover cure - hair of the dog place starting at 7 AM. Excellent coffee - love the mocha - its truly special. The wait staff is varied and fun - sometimes surly, but thats fun too. Clientèle is also one of the assets here. You never know who you will meet here from just-out-of-jail cowboy truckers (true story), to hipsters, to tattooed and pierced poets, to exotic dancers (who make this a regular stop) - or people like me, Great American Beer festival goers, looking to work themselves up to another tasting session. Its also open for all holidays! And its NOT closed - was just there!

I LOVE this place. Best 24 hour spot in Denver if you need a place to be and something to sip or munch on. Their alcoholic drinks are mixed well, their coffee drinks are brewed beautifully, and their cake slices are huge and amazing. My one issue is that they tend to play their music really loud, but that’s mostly to drown out the club next door so I can’t really fault them for it, and if you sit strategically it isn’t really much of a bother. They also have outdoor seating that is just lovely on a hot Denver night. During the day the place has a great atmosphere as well. I just overall highly recommend this great cafe!

This is a great place to study or get a late night bite to eat. Its a huge hangout spot for college students. They food is good and cheap and they have a lot of seating with plugs to work on homework. They also have live music some nights which is fun and a bar. The best part is its open 24/7!!!! Its hard to find a place in Denver that has this.

When we arrived mid week in Denver, this was the only ‘restaurant’ open downtown at 2300. The bar service was friendly enough and we were happy to be able to order wings and have a few drinks before retiring to bed for the night. The bar attracts a lot of integrating characters so it was nice to get that cut through of Denver personalities

I met up at this location with my son and his girlfriend. This place reminded me of a want to be Paris on the Platte. It took me way back to my younger days. I ordered a beer, tea, and a plate of fries, which came out to 16 bucks. This place is definitely not my type of place anymore, way too many early 20 somethings at this place.

Absolutely love the place. The patrons are incredibly diverse, artistic, and creative. The bartenders are all incredibly awesome. Excellent coffee, tasty omelettes, super chill employees, the owner however is extremely rude and quite the sick. But everything else aside fromhim makes it well worth it.

These guys boast the best chai latte in Denver and boy are they right! I havent had their food yet but Id describe this place as a coffee shop meets dive bar. Its certainly saved my butt a few times when I need somewhere to go at night downtown. Ill be back again for sure!

Coolest downtown café atmosphere, great drinks--literally the best chai lattes in town. Food is so-so: Only the french fries (*massive* portion) and mozzarella sticks are worth ordering.If you have to use the restroom, beware: Patrons seem to trash the mens on a regular basis, and the owner seems reluctant to invest anything in basic upkeep. Like, toilets with broken handles, and holes in the old brick walls through which one can literally see daylight.Other than that, though, best place to warm up and get caffeinated, anywhere downtown.

Im giving it 4 stars because of the convenience. Coffee is so so, along with the atmosphere, but at midnight or 1 am, Ill take anything. This place is good for a place to go with friends late, or after clubbing doesnt really matter. They offer food and a bar too.

Great service for EMS, especially being open 24hrs. When I worked deep nights, Leela’s was always our first stop of the night if we had any say in the matter. Good cup of coffee is a great way to start off a shift.

I just moved to Denver and this is one of my favorite places to work. Service can be slow sometimes, but its well worth it. The people are friendly, the people-watching is great, and its a fantastic place.
