Now in my top 5 places in Colorado. I love visiting new places for breakfast/brunch and this has been one of the best Ive been to in Colorado. The bakery is terrific, the customer service was excellent, coffee spectacular too. although this place is far from my home I will return many times for sure.(Today was our first time there and the person who attended us took the time to explain each product and even let us try some of them for us to choose) Great great job !
Great food! Made fresh! Flavors and taste from Instanbul/ Middleeast. Bakery is the closest you will get to delicious flaky Baklava other than traveling and/ or shipping from Middle East. Small staff is attentive and helpful. Can eat outside and multiple tables inside. Water is self pour with amazing tea available for purchase. Authenticate breakfast with a mom or pop sampler tray. Only gripe is no ice when you purchase juice or soda. Not a eastern thing which is why i wont knock it.
I liked the atmosphere of this place. My friend and I visited this place today and it was delicious. The service was friendly and great! Since it was our first time the gentleman there made us try some sweets. They were very nice. I ate the Mama’s plate for breakfast and my friend ordered the papas plate. We had some tea and I took some Simit bread and potatoe borek to go. Definitely will go back with my family to this nice place.
If you love authentic baklava (or even if youve never tasted it), this is the place to go. There are numerous varieties to suit your tastes. They are, of course, sweet...and SO delicious, with crispy layers. They mostly come in small, two-bite pieces, which is perfect in the morning or as an afternoon pick-me-up, with a great cup of coffee. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. They can describe the subtle differences and flavors, and they offer up samples. I have not had their other items...only varieties of baklava...at this point. I am going there this weekend to try some of their rolls and sandwiches with a friend...along with MORE baklava!!!
I decided to check out Cafe Istanbul after seeing their amazing review star average one day while working down near Glendale and I was not disappointed! This place far exceeds expectations for a casual strip-mall joint. I’ve returned several times for the Doner Baguette gyro meat style sandwich and to sample the Turkish Baklava variations. They also serve traditional Turkish coffee (not sure if they use the sand heating method or not), which is amazing!Strait forward cafe style and a great value. Check this place out!
Excellent customer service, very welcoming. The food was fresh, delicious and inexpensive for the quality. Tried a few things from the menu, and everything was delicious. Will return.
Got breakfast and coffee there with some friends. We all got ground beef borek and Turkish coffee and dumplings. The coffee was pretty strong and pretty good. The borek(it was beef filled filo pastry) was delicious and savory. The dumplings were a bit bland and I wished the seasoning or sauce was a bit more salty. They also have sweet pastries and Turkish delights.
What a little gem this place is! The Doner wrap was excellent and the Manti dumpling dish was amazing! Service was great and we grabbed some Turkish coffee to go, we have made it at home several times now. Don’t leave without a box of Turkish Delights, they have the best brand I’ve ever had. Can’t wait to go back!
If you like baklava but never been able to find a good one! Take a few minutes and drive down to Istanbul cafe. Best Baklava I have ever tasted in the States. The cafe was very clean, and the stuff is very friendly, and make you feel like youre home. They offered many samples, and their selection was excellent. I have been there twice already, and both times I was thrilled with everything Ive tasted and saw about Istanbul Cafe. Also, Their Turkish breakfast plate is excellent.Ill be back for more deliciousness.
Delicious! my partner and i just moved to the area and wanted to check this place out for breakfast. the lady helping us was so kind and offered right away to give us samples of everything. food was served hot and tasted great. definitely plan to go back!
Somewhat limited seating but great food, coffee and tea. Friendly and helpful staff. I look forward to coming again.
I love this place staff services, food and everything was perfect .Very clean cafe’ .I highly recommend
First time trying and not only tasty food, but they provide exceptional service. Said it was my first time and got a thorough explanation of all the items and even a sample. Who knew there were so many types of baklava? Food is great and dont forget to try a Turkish tea or coffee. The 5 star ratings didnt lie.
The server was extremely nice and the bakhlawa was delicious. As someone who eats it often this was S tier. Must try
Delicious baklava and baked goods, however the stars are the lovely ladies behind the counter. Phenomenal service and conversation. I will definitely return regularly!
Great place! Very friendly staff. Really good. Doner kabob is good, but it was better at the beginning when they used real bread.
Istanbul cafe in Denver is amazing! I happened upon them and was delighted with the warm staff, charming cafe and delicious pastries.I went for Baklava, and tried the most delicious savory beef and feta/egg stuffed pastries as well. Thank you! We will return again and again!
Amazing food! Best baklava I have had in CO!
Love this place!! Everything was delicious!! And excellent costumer service!!! 😋
Delicious food, warm and friendly people. Delicacies like this are worth every penny.
Such kind employees. Amazing fresh food!
So glad I found a place that tastes like home in Denver. The babas breakfast place is delicious and so worth the money. The simit and su börek were delicious and everything was fresh and had generous portions. Love that I could get refills on çay. Their Turkish coffee was delicious and not bitter at all. The owner was there and was very sweet and attentive. Also they give samples on their baklava and other sweets!
We recently moved in across the street and when I popped in to ask for some Vegetarian breakfast options, Marla did not disappoint! We crushed a mama’s platter and some sides. So excited to try everything that is on this menu, especially all the amazing looking pastries and baked goods. Delicious coffee as well! Highly recommend giving this place a shot even if you’re not hyper local like us, it’s worth the drive.
Ate lunch here the other day. The service was great and the food was better! We got to sample basically everything and ended up ordering the Doner and Lamacun. Both of them were delicious and filling. We then ordered Baklava and Burek to go which was then just devoured in the car. Highly recommend!!!
Amazing and friendly staff. The bakery products they have are just awesome. One of the best turkish bakeries I’ve ever been too
Love love love this place. The food was so good and such an interesting experience. They were so nice and helped me find something extremely delicious
Food was great. Tastes just as good as the food I had in Istanbul.
Not as delicious as expected.----------------------Reply to below :To be fair, I liked the salad that came with Lahmacun ( Turkish beef pizza), and basic breakfast.I didnt like the Menti ( Dough not good or cooked. Side Garlic sauce doesnt suit Menti. Should try serving black Vinegar instead), The Donar wrap (tasteless not like in Turkey), Spinach borek ( dough was thick).I also bought but didnt eat yet (might update after eating them) :Beef Borek, Kunefe, Baklava.total was $56.05 which was slightly expensive for quality.
The nicest staff and customer service, ever. Delicious food too. Thank you so much for making our engagement pictures so special.
Excellent all the way around!! First time visitors but definitely not the last!!
Best baklava Ive ever had and exceptionally kind service!
Great Turkish/Mediterranean cafe. The different Baclava comes from Turkey and are excellent.
Amazing service! Samples of new foods made this less stressful to try too. Clean, cool, and a perfect spot to stop.
This cafe was the amazing! The staff is so nice and the food is delicious.
So good! I went in for the first time today and got a döner wrap and a piece of baklava and it’s so tasty. The staff were very friendly and the service was quick, absolutely will stop by again.
A place with great delicious food. İsmet is a very kind, gentle and good business manager, and also a family man who loves his family and children. She loves her children very much and tears up when she talks about them. My hand and my daughter gave this place 10 out of 10 points, I loved Turkish pastries. Baklava dessert is super. Handmade ravioli dish is a very healthy product. Doner kebab is the best doner i have ever eaten in america. I definitely recommend it, so I came to this place on a recommendation and went out with full packages. I bought all of their products and took them to my hotel for vacation. Thank you ✨Mustafa Kemal Atatürk I got more respect when I saw Atatürks photo. People who protect their history are always reliable and their place is also reliable. With endless gratitude and respect to the world leader Atatürk.✨
My girlfriend & I went on a trip to Colorado & this was the first restaurant we went to. It. Was. To. Die. For. The owner greeted us immediately when we walked in & treated us like family. The best hospitality i’ve ever experienced & the food was even better
I discovered Istanbul Cafe by happenstance and I was not disappointed! Ive only had their baklava and Id say it is some of the best Ive ever had. The quality of the honey and nuts is excellent. I happily make the trip from Thornton if it means I can have some of their yummy baklava 😋. Also, customer service is great and theyre very friendly. Ill certainly be back for more baklava and will be trying some of their foods!
Good food, friendly staff. I had a beef Borek and sampled the others. Wanted to try something new and it was all delicious. I’ll be back here!
Loved the gryo salad and gryo wrap. Friendly staff and reasonable price.
Wonderful little place for quick snacks and desserts. Sucuk Tost is so good! Chai or Turkish tea was great. Ayran is awesome for the hot summer days. The service was great. I was greeted when I came in and was asked if this was my first time. I was offered samples for tasting.Prices are just right. The place is clean and nicely decorated.
Second time getting food here(first was uber eats order) and first time going in. First, the ladies working there are super friendly! They offered us plenty of samples and explained to us what every dish was. I appreciate that because we are not familiar with Turkish foods. They have savory pastries, sweet treats, some lunch options, and hot drinks. The tea and coffee are a bit strong but have good flavor. The food is very good and fresh. If you havent been here yet, dont hesitate because you are missing out! Thanks for the great service and delicious food!
Had an amazing experience here. Food was some of the best Denver has to offer. We tried almost everything on the menu and couldn’t decide which we enjoyed the most. Staff went out of their way to make sure we had a great experience. Owner was extremely friendly as well. We look forward to becoming regulars here!
I had a great experience visiting this cafe. I went with a close friend to try it out for the first time and the staff was extremely hospitable. They walked us through with some samples of the delicious food and went as far to explain many of the dishes on their menu. The environment was calm and they had outdoor seating as well. We chose to sit outside and the owner turned on the outdoor heating so that we were comfortable. The staff checked on us frequently but not too frequently as they probably were respecting our deep conversation. As for the food I ordered a salad and my friend ordered a baguette and we both ordered their traditional tea. All of it was delicious and satisfying and did not leave a feeling of bloatedness like other food typically does for me. I ended up spending 3 hours here because the cafe was so comfortable for me and my friend to conversate. Pleased with my overall experience and I will be returning.
THE BEST BAKLAVA IN CO !Yes it’s a little pricey BUT unlike many other places their fillings are generous and their ingredients are fresh! Well done! customer service was excellent
Great service! The food is so great.
Best baklava in Denver period! The place is very clean, the staff are very welcoming & friendly. They offer you tastings even before you ask them (Istanbul vibes!).The baklava is very tasty, made to perfection. Lots of pistachio & not too sweet (excellent taste). Baked perfect.A bit on the high-end price point, but totally worth it!Definitely one of my favorite spots in Denver now. A business that deserves supporting in these tough times..
This place is phenomenal and a true gem in Denver. The food is amazing and the atmosphere is laid back and welcoming. The owners and staff are incredibly friendly, and took the time to explain the different Turkish food options while letting us try samples. Everything was very high quality and also pretty affordable. Looking forward to coming back!
The chocolate baklava is AMAZING. The guy working there is really nice and explained all the different types of baklava
The people at the counter were very nice and informative since it was our first time. And the food was amazing!! Also highly recommend their Turkish coffee.
Excellent service, fresh food and free wi-fi, i highly recommend their doner wrap its delicious, perfectly seasoned meat and minty yogur sauce its just perfect, take home some baklava for dessert too, yum...
What a lovely place! Local coffee and specialized bakes that never fail to delight me. Pair this with lively service from a kind and welcoming staff and this place earns 5 stars in my book.
Ive made a couple of trips to Turkey, and while I would not say that Im any sort of expert of that countrys amazing cuisine, I can identify the real deal. Istanbul Café is the real deal. Enjoyed both savory and sweet. The manti, doner wrap and sucuk tost were particularly good.
This is a gem of a restaurant/bakery. The food is expertly made with a lot of expertise, care and passion. I was very impressed by the owner, Ismet, and have been returning to the Cafe for some quick bites whenever Im in the area. Please consider supporting small and genuine businesses like this rather than the corporate/chain restaurants.
Would certainly recommend visiting this place. Awesome ambience, delightful dishes, excellent customer service. Highly recommended.
Awesome baklava. Friendly staff. Will return.
Oh My Gosh! 2nd time I have eaten there and the pastries are fabulous! Chocolate Baklavah is to die for! You Have To Try This!!! YUMMM!!!
Amazing visit. The gentleman working greeted us as soon as we walked in and asked if we had visited before. When we said we hadnt, he immediately offered us samples of two different phyllo pastries and a pistachio baklava. Everything was great. He was very nice and polite while handling mire customers and taking a phone order. I would highly recommend this business to anyone. The best baklava Ive had in a very long time. If I lived closer Id be there every week.
Just got the manti and feta borek. For some reason the manti did not come with any yogurt sauce so was a bit disappointed (perhaps becuase it was delivery?). Nevertheless still giving 5 stars because the manti was still amazing without yogurt sauce and both borek and sobiyet were great as well. Not overpriced at all either.
I was in Denver just for two days for a wedding. So happy they have a legitimate Turkish restaurant cafe in the city! I got Babam’s kahvaltısı, simit, and çay. It takes me back to my years in Turkey and sitting by the Bosporus! The lady who manages the place is super friendly, cheerful, and makes DELICIOUS food. Goodness. If I could eat more I would have stayed longer hahaha. There was a gentleman there who talked to me for a while, in English and Turkish, who was interesting and also very friendly. The only thing better than the food is the staff. Ellerine sağlık yeni arkadaşlarım! Sizi bekliyorum! Sizi çok misafirperverliksiniz! ☺️🇹🇷❤️
Such a gem. The pastry is amaaazing. Don’t miss the su borek and their many types of baklava. Service was on point.
The food was sooo good, the music hit, and the service was incredible, she really hooked us up with the vegetarian options ❤️
Small menu, big on taste.
I’ve never tried any type of food from turkey and they worker welcomed me in and explained to me all the dishes and how their coffee also differs. The food was amazing and was so happy to have an expert guide to help me choose what I wanted to try.
The best baklava! Several varieties to choose from.
Good food yes ...but I have to give it three stars as Im from turkey and it was def not what I was expecting ..it was more greek then real turkish ...but it was good food just not what I was thinking it would be like real lamb shoarma and garlic sauce etc
This was one of my best Turkish breakfast I ever had. The place is clean the stuff are amazing and welcoming and the food wow it was super delicious. Outstanding service.
Store was busy well stocked
Great ambience, such welcoming people and what fantastic treats! Not to mention Turkish tea and coffee. We were able to sample several items. We didnt have enough space in our tummies for all the savory and sweet foods we wanted to order. Went twice on the same day. Once for coffee and a pastry and later for more delicious savory delights! The ground beef pastry (bōrek), the sucuk (Turkish sausage) panini, the simit (circular bread coated with molasses and sesame) were all scrumptious! Definitely going back.
Amazing food! Amazing service!
The owner and staff are very welcoming. The food is delicious, I loved that samples were offered with so many options to choose from. Excited to find out new unique items will be available in 2 weeks. Ill definitely return.
Authentic Turkish savory and sweet dishes everyone will enjoy! Perfect to buy in bulk and have in the freezer for when you want a special treat! I have loved everything from this fantastic restaurant.
Amazing food and super friendly owner and staff! The tost was delicious and the desserts are a must. Will be back
