I had my doubts but I was totally wrong. The sales person was totally professional and knowledgeable. They gave me a fair price for my vehicle and completed it in record time. he sales floor was very busy the sales person did not distract. Thank you for such a stressless experience.
I am absolutely disgusted by this company. They approved a car to my girlfriend about a year and a half ago who was only making $9 an hour at the time. She was there with her schizophrenic father, and none of them knew anything about cars. She didn’t have any credit (I believe her dad co-signed who was also low income on social security). They should have definitely been denied, but they were approved. Now she is paying $550 a month for her car, and she can barely pay for her car payment and insurance (another $450) a month, even though she got a better job. It is horrible you took advantage of them like that, and her interest rate is ridiculous. If you are low income, please buy a cheap used car, and don’t buy a newer car like my girlfriend did. If she would have told me before she bought the car I would have told her definitely not. They care more about making money off the vulnerable than helping people. The least they could have done is told her a cheaper option to get so she wasn’t trapped paying bills every month that are way to high for her.

Everyone I talked and worked with were friendly and helpful. After everything was signed, not as much. Found an issue with a tire that had an indication to an issue prior to buying, low tire warning. The tire was filled with air and we were sent on our way. The next day, the tire light came on again. After careful inspection, the inside of one tire was ripped up. Since the tires were run flats, it took awhile to show the warning again. When I called up CarMax, they couldnt get me in for 3 weeks. I had to work out a replacement and pay up front before I could be reimbursed. I filled out a survey and asked for a callback, which I never received.Three starts for the upfront experienceMinus two stars because they lack the availability to resolve issues in a timely manner.I noticed we have a cracked glass on a fog light, less than 30 days, now I have to call again... :(
First and foremost, Morgan the sales associate and Mike the General Manager were nothing less then first class! I had purchased 2 vehicles 2 weeks to the day before from Morgan but one of them was having its second mechanical issue. Without question the car was taken back and I had another vehicle choosen and even though it was before 11am we got everything completed and me on my way before 11am. I will always recommend you all to anyone looking for a vehicle. Thank you again for the first class service and amazing customer service.

First things first. I buy and keep a car until its absolutely necessary to buy another. Im not a person who changes rides every few years. I dont drive my money. Having said that, I have bought my last two vehicles from CarMax and have had a great experience both times. This time I traded in my 2007 Nissan Versa (you read that right-14 years old) and drove away with a LOADED 2019 Nissan Sentra SV Special Edition. I went online to have the vehicle transfered from GA to FL, worked with an agent by phone to get their financing offers, went to my own bank for financing (online), and only met face-to-face with a salesman when I went to the local CarMax dealer to complete the deal. It could not have been much easier or more straightforward! Thanks, CarMax!
We sold our 10 year old Subaru Legacy within an hour of sitting down and were pleased with the price we received.Our representative, Boyd informed us that purchasing a 3 year old vehicle and trading it in every year or so would protect us from taking a big depreciation hit and minimize the chances of large repair bills. In the past we have always purchased new cars, kept them too long and taken the hit on large repairs after 5 years of ownership.Going forward the plan is to purchase quality pre-owned vehicles from CarMax. This was our third vehicle buying experience with CarMax. Despite the lot being half-empty of vehicles, and not having any that we were interested in, they were able to help us find one that met our needs and was able to get it delivered in two days with no charge for us to test drive. It hit the spot and despite the late hour paperwork, went just fine. This will likely be our first stop the next time we are in the market for a vehicle.
Ridiculous! About 7 months ago I had a vehicle shipped to Daytona store that I was pre-approved on. Get there and the payment suddenly jumps up to over $700 when it was originally $500. Find another car, paid to have it shipped to Daytona. Day I’m supposed to come in to see it and walking out the door to my appointment I get a voicemail that the car had to go to dealer to get something fixed. Keep in mind Daytona had the car for 4 days before my appointment. A week goes by and nobody can tell me what’s going on with that car. Have a third car shipped in. Come in to see it and what’s sitting next to that car? The second car I’ve been waiting on and really wanted that nobody knew what was going on with. Look at the third car, tell sales I want to look at second car as that’s the one I wanted. Nope - kept me away from that car and basically talked me into third car. After 2 or 3 days called my sales person to let him know I really didn’t want the car - I wanted the second one so I wanted to use their returns policy. Easy enough right? Nope again! He made it sound like it was the most complex thing to do and I was better off keeping car three. At that point I just gave up. I needed a car, and car three is nice - just not what I wanted. Now, I’m interested in trading that car in. I get an appraisal online and the car I was talked in to is now worth less than half of what they sold it to me for! I’m making a ridiculously high car payment on something that’s worth less than half 7 months ago. I get depreciation but less than half?! Car is in exact same condition and only put maybe 400 miles max on it. I’m so furious right now. Especially when they told me car three was a better investment. Really?!?! I’m paying $20k on a car worth $9k. How is that an investment?!?!

In October 2020, I purchased a car for my daughter, whos away in college. The car needed to go to the shop every month. After the third month of paying a note on a car that was inoperable several weeks out of the three months, I asked if we could trade that car in for a more dependable car. Wish granted! My daughter loves her newer, dependable, reliable car. Im happy that shes happy and feels safe.
The sales department is 5 stars but the service department is 0 stars. I took my car in for repair yesterday for the front bumper being lose and hanging down from under the driver side headlight from when we bought it. I called to see if it was finished around 5pm because nobody called to let me know anything and someone from the business office answered and said oh yes it been done since 2pm you can come and get it. So i get there and i look the car over and its hanging down from the passenger side now. So i left it there again overnight and its now 5pm and nobody has called me with updates or if its ready or not. This is unacceptable!!! And terrible service. This is our only vehicle and we need it fixed now!
I went in to sell my car. Was extremely easy, got more then I thought I would and the staff was amazing.
I spent several hours on the phone making sure my deal was all set. I was sent offers and was told to come to the dealership. I drove 2 hours, had to redo a credit app, was told I needed more money down and a higher interest rate. All after they had already made me offers and told me I was approved for the same vehicle. Everything was confirmed and approved according to them. Of course they wanted to put.me in a different vehicle, and the salesperson of course blamed it on the internet person. Bait and switch, plain and simple. Buyer beware.

I had a horrible experience at this dealership, and with Carmax since the last car I purchased through them 5 years ago. Definitely a different company now. It was like trying to buy a car from the Borg (i.e. a hive-minded Star Trek species) where nobody has an identity, and you get blind texts and dont work with one person the entire transaction. The Daytona dealership does this because the folks that sell cars there earn their commission based on everybodys sales rather than just their own; so nobody cares as much if you buy a car from them, or not. In my case, I ended up buying elsewhere, and that was after a horrible experience where I was forced to use their call center to apply for, and get approved for, a loan. They do seem to have a lot of lenders available, but try to manage how many inquiries they can send out so they dont ding up your credit too bad. Good luck! Sad, because I used to be a fan.I was sent an email from Carmax requesting a review of my experience, and I filled that out a week ago.
So…. I take my car into your Daytona location for warranty work, and 6 months later it’s having the same exact problem and your store’s manager tells me the policy is I’m responsible for my own rental!! Someone from Carmax please explain how you have excellent customer service but I have to pay for my own rental for a warranty issue on a warranty repair that were done by your service center!! I’m beyond fed up!!

These folks should have a new campaign, Carmax...we have an excuse for everything. You cant reach anyone by phone at the dealership. I had a car shipped to the Daytona location, bought it...only because of the car. Not due to the Daytona location. Try to make good on the 90-day guarantee. It takes weeks and they have no shuttle, no loaner, no rentals. Its been 2 months and I still havent received my transferred tags or registration. The theory of Carmax is cool, but the execution blows.
I loved working with CarMax Daytona. Morgan, was great. She walked me through everything and was able to answer my question. I left the lot with a loaded 2017 Hyundai Elantra. I did have to go back a few days later to sign a line that was missed; no big deal. Here’s where it all gets better.While waiting on copies, a small child took a rock and scratched my brand new car; from the hood, down the side, and all the way to the back tail light, I could not believe my eyes. I immediately notified The Store Manager Mike. He was AMAZING! He told me not to worry, that they would take care of everything and that my satisfaction was his number 1 priority. They took the car and gave me loaner and tried to buff out the scratches. The next day, I went up to check out their handy work.It wasn’t perfect, but a job well done. I could still see some of the scratches; once you see it, you can’t unsee it, so back to shopping I went. I didn’t find the car I was looking for in the lot. Y’all, Mike set me up with Sue and we looked at other CarMax websites in my area and found the same car. Not only did they help me search, they had the vehicle shipped at no cost to me.I had to wait a week or so, they called me to come see it, there was a hiccup and it wasn’t the same car I originally asked for they went out of their way to find me a car from another lot. No worries, I test drive it and I’ll be honest, I didn’t love this car. So, back to look on their lot and finally I see my new car, I got lucky as they just had new cars delivered. So, to end my story. I left with a loaded 2019 Malibu, (it looks brand new), peace of mind, and a great experience that you do not usually get at dealerships.I will recommend CarMax to anyone looking for a well maintained used vehicle and great customer care.Thanks Morgan, Mike, and Sue for making my car buying experience so relaxing and un-stressful!!
My wife and I had spent the whole day, literally 11hrs, going to dealership after dealership in the Daytona Auto Mall with no luck in getting a deal done. I even left there to stop at a few other dealerships in the surrounding area but they were closed by that time. Little to say were were mentally and physically drained and we were just gonna go ahead and drive back home to Palm Coast because we really felt defeated. But we gave it one last try and checked if there were any open dealerships near where we were and low and behold CarMax was open for another 45 minutes so we said let’s try it because we really didn’t want to go home empty handed, especially after what we had went through that day. We pulled up and went in and we were met with smiles and open arms even though we were those last minute customers who walked in right before they were closing. We began walking the lot with our sales representative and we immediately picked out a few cars we liked. We took one for a test drive we really liked and loved it but unfortunately when we ran the numbers by each other the deal wasn’t going to work again. Oh no not again we said😫🤦♂️🤦♀️. They did tell us that the numbers were going to work on the other vehicle we were interested in and funny enough it was the vehicle I was in love with but I hadn’t convinced my wife enough that she was too. By now it was after the time they were supposed to be closed so they told us they would love to still work with us and get us to our goal of driving a new vehicle home. So we scheduled our appointment time for the next day and they reserved the vehicle for us so no one could purchase it and we went home to discuss what we were going to do. Needless to say my wife immediately went on their website when we got home and looked at all the pictures and options and she fell in love with it too. So in the end we went back the next day to test drive the vehicle and I couldn’t get the smile off her face if I tried😁. We all sat down to do the paperwork and we left with my wife’s vehicle and we couldn’t of been any happier🙌🤩. Such a great experience considering all we went through beforehand. We never once felt pressured or pushed into buying a vehicle we didn’t want. We even got a personal phone call and a thank you letter from our sales representative to see how the car was treating us and if there was anything more we need or want. Overall we couldn’t be happier and now we know where we’re going when I need a new car for me💯😁
Using the website it was quick and easy to get an offer on my car. I visited Carmax in person to verify the offer and in 20 minutes the offer was verified. A few days later I returned to accept the offer and it took less than 30 mintues to complete the paperwork and I left with a check in-hand. Everyone I dealt with was very friendly and professional. Carmax made selling my car quick and easy.

I purchased a 2020 Hyundai Palisade. Very straight forward process. I brought the car back after 6 days and was hoping that their returns were as straight forward as their purchasing. It was a very painless process. They were very accommodating. The reason I took 2 stars off is that its going to take 3-6 business days to get my money back. They told me that they dont have the cash there and checks have to go through their corporate account. Hmmm....they write checks to buy cars all day long. Not sure why they couldnt write me a refund check right away. Update....10 days after I returned the car, still no refund. Called the corporate HQ, they had not even mailed it. Not good! One of their analysts, Charles, helped out to have it expedited....but not sure why I had to track this down.

I was looking to sell my Cadillac SRX. I went to CarMax in Daytona and was promptly greeted. The process of appraising my Cadillac was quick and easy. I left with my appraisal in hand. After giving it some thought, I decided to go back the next week and sell them my car. Due to extenuating circumstances, I thought the sale process might have been a bit more involved, but Morgan of CarMax assured me that since I had all the necessary documents with me that the sale would go seamlessly and I would be leaving with a check that day. All the paperwork was completed quickly and as Morgan said, I left with check in hand. I would highly recommend CarMax if you are considering selling your car.
After all of the issues that weve had with this company (first review below) and the promises that our check was coming in the mail because the original check came back. Now this issue going on almost three months of trying to get someone to just make a simple payment put it in an envelope and put it in the mailbox, which again seems difficult for them to do on top of answering phones, which they still do not do. Its a shame that Google even makes you leave a star to post.Have been trying to get a hold of this place for almost a month now. Called Corporate over 3 times and no one can help me all they do is pass the buck. We purchased a vehicle and was told that we were getting a check back because of a mistake their department made and we overpaid. No one in that department seems like they have the capability of picking up a phone, answering a phone, or returning phone calls. Terrible service.
I had a great little 2005 car that had lost its purpose to ride on the beach or just jam around town with the fast 5-speed. It sat unused outside my home office doors for a couple of years until last week. On a whim, I looked up its value and was surprised to see that Carmax was offering $1,700 less than what Id paid to buy it back in 2015. It wasnt in top shape but neither did it have any damning problems. How couldnt I sell it for that?!? Now, Im $3,300 in the black and the run-through at Carmax was a breeze. My only donation was an hour of time and the $21 plus tip for the Uber fellow to bring me back home.
This was a great experience. Chris displayed professionalism, integrity and genuine concern with helping me. As a female, I’m always suspect of being taken advantage of, but CarMax didn’t play head games or use sales pitches or intimidation. Highly recommended and this is where I’ll do business going forward.

Went in to buy a truck, or at least see if I could buy a truck. They had the exact model and color I wanted. After talking with the wife, decided we should get two smaller cars instead. One car was damaged internally and the salesman didnt know until I showed him. They wouldnt let me buy that car and were apologetic for the inconvenience. So we looked at 7 other cars and finally settled on the one pictured. It was a very easy transaction. They took a lot of time to sell us the car on the terms that were right for us. Got a great deal on a car that had manufacturers warranty still intact. Adam really took a lot of time to make us feel comfortable. The entire staff bent over backwards to accommodate us. Will definitely buy from them again! They even allowed us to take the first car back and get another. Rick and staff, 10 stars!

Seriously, the most hassle free experience Ive ever had buying a car and Rich and the Carmax team made it just that much easier.After months of researching cars and getting screwed around by other salesman at other lots, Carmax gave me a reasonable offer (ACTUAL MARKET VALUE) for my car. I went with my gut feeling that this was the place to get a new car and within a day after getting the offer, I found a car on their app. I shipped the car to the location closest to me and within 5 days I was in a new vehicle. Seriously, if you know what youre looking for and you have all of your things in order and you just want someone who isnt going to waste your time- contact this location and ask for Rich. Im just disappointed...The whole we will deliver the car to you to test drive idea is a GREAT idea and I was PUMPED about test driving a car I am in love with. Unfortunately, I believe its just marketing ploy for them to look better during Covid-19 because I ordered the car to be transferred from Tampa a week ago and I havent received any call about the details. I have called them a few times and each time I sit on hold for roughly 30 minutes until I finally hang up because I cant stay on hold longer than my actual lunch break and I cant call them after work because they are closed. Oh well, it was a good idea anyway.

Cannot speak/praise highly enough of CarMax and employees. I have always hated shopping for and buying cars, of which I have had plenty (mostly upper end). I hate haggling with the salesmen in the dealerships. This was such a painless, stressless, and even pleasant experience - I recommend highly. The price is the price - very reasonable - no haggling, I ended up with a beautiful (looked like it just came off showroom floor) 2017 Nissan Rogue with very low mileage. If and when I decide to buy another car, CarMax is IT!!!!!
