I have been going to the Car-X on 53rd street for 8 years now and I have never been disappointed. The service is great and everyone that works there is very polite. They have never tried to push me to spend more money that what I came in there for. I wouldnt go anywhere else.

We had our transmission replaced at a Carx in Chicago. It acted up on a trip to Davenport and we suspected a loose connection. We stopped here without an appointment. The manager was awesome. In 30 minutes problem was found and fixed and we were on our way. Best part was “no charge!” Way above and beyond our expectations. Highly recommend.

Many businesses have similar products, tools, equipment and knowledge when it comes to auto repair but what puts Car-X above the rest is their CUSTOMER SERVICE!My car had recently just unexpectedly died and was not showing signs of wanting to live on after being revived by a kind lady in the Tire dept. at Sam’s Club. For fear of being stranded elsewhere, I called Car-X to find out if they could somehow fit me in on such short notice. They said it would be maybe 45 min before they could take a look at it but I drove straight there to ensure I could make it. The gentleman who took my call greeted me and was very kind and understanding of my situation even though he had a lot full of cars to work on that day.The crew there was pleasant and they were able to take a look at my car, solve my issue and even take a look further to see if any other issue may arise. I was in and out of there in a little over an hour.Not only was my car ready to live on for another few years, but I had much more peace of mind being able to get back behind the wheel and not fear being stranded somewhere. I can’t thank the team at Car-X enough for their quick work and their pleasant customer service - I will definitely be recommending them to anyone I know!P.S. Dan and his crew are the best. Ive been taking my vehicles the for years. They always explain everything thoroughly. They dont try to tack on unnecessary repairs like other places try to do. I highly recommend this shop for all your car maintenance and repair needs.

I took my vehicle in for an oil change & tire rotation. My vehicle was brought right in to the garage, and serviced immediately. They did a free overall inspection and the attendant answered several of my questions. They didn’t try to upsell me on anything and in fact, gave me a $15 off coupon from their website without me saying anything. Great service. Very professional and timely.

Manager was upfront and honest on cost of repairs and issues with my make/model. Work appears to be quality (so far) and the customer service was great. Just moved to the neighbhorhood and will use them again!

Very informative, they dont talk down to you just because youre a woman. instead they explain things as if youre just another human (as they should), get you out of there quickly, and are super kind!

Ended up calling last minute to get my muffler fixed and the person who I spoke with was super polite and managed to get my car in right away. Appreciate the service, will be getting my car done here from now on.

Showed up at 7:50 for my 8 Appointment for a oil change. No one was in the office for 15-20 minutes and when the front desk guy came up his reason was cause he was in the restroom for that long.

Ive taken both my vehicles to Car X without any problems. I recently had an oil change and found oil on the garage floor the next day. They got me in immediately, took care of the problem (which was very minimal oil spillage ) and gave me a partial refund so that I could have the car washed where oil collected. Dan (manager) was very professional and a nice guy. He is the reason I continue to take my car to that Car X location.

They got my car in at the last moment on a Friday night to give it a alignment. Great people.

Best experience Ive had in an auto shop ever. Really... Called at 7:30am, in at 9:00am, and out at 10:00am all for a busted exhaust system. The on-site fabricator fixed the issue rather than trying to sell me on a full replacement. Then he was kind enough to take me out and walk me through the repair personally. I will definitely be back and recommend!

Top-notch, professional service on Labor Day 2019! During a long road trip home, I needed to get my car serviced for an overheating engine. Les worked me into his schedule, identified the problem (failed water pump), fixed it, and had me back on the road just a few hours after bringing the car in. Amazing job! I really appreciated his willingness to work a little longer on a holiday to get be back onto the road and home. Would highly recommend this shop!

The man at the counter helping me was super friendly, and they got two new tires on my car in less than an hour! Pretty sure I heard him say there was only one tech in too! Very impressive!

Unbeatable service, the tech took time to show me why I needed pads and rotors on the front, and only pads on the rear. I scheduled two brake aptmts that day and they were $300 less expensive than the 1st company I went to. Highly recommend these guys.

I had both front wheel bearings replaced 6 months ago. I diagnosed one wheel bearing as being worn out, they checked it out, agreed, suggested doing both, and replaced them. Did a decent job. 4 stars for that work. But it was still making a noise when turning right. I thought the noise was related to a tire or suspension or something like that. They swore it was the engine and that I should get the engine replaced. I said no. Turns out it was just worn out outer tie rods. I replaced them and the noise went away. NOT happy that they tried to sell me an engine. They should know the difference between tie rod noise and engine noise. 0 stars for that. I just found today that one of the new wheel bearings went out, too, after about 4,000 miles. Ill get my warranty work done at a different shop.UPDATE-- I took my van back to this Car-X for the warranty work. Car-X has a policy that warranty work should be done at the original shop. A bolt holding the bearing on had broken, not sure why, but I cant hold them responsible for that. Things break. They checked it out, fixed it quickly, and didnt try to sell me anything else. Good experience today - a 5 star day. Putting together all the experiences, Ill give them 3 stars.

Have visited them in the past for an oil change. Speedy and thorough work. Came in today for a tire rotation and inspection and the guys were able to salvage my calipers and set me up with 4 new rotors and brake pads for a good price. Junior is the man! Very knowledgeable, super helpful, saved me a lot of $$$, got me in and out in a few short hours today. Will definitely be back for future repairs and maintenance!

Car emergency with the throttle and engine power in my Chevy while traveling across the state on the weekend. Got us in and out on the same day (there was a last minute opening in the schedule). Extremely knowledgeable and courteous to boot. Clean bathrooms. Let us bring in our pets while we waited. Our heroes.

I went to this CarX with a knock in my motor. The engine ran fine, just every 3 or 4 seconds there would be a knock. They came back and said there was metal in the oil and it would be $4000 for them to put a USED 100k mile motor in. They were also saying the engine dropped a rod(my motor doesnt even have push rods) or a value dropped. I knew this wasnt the case because the motor ran fine.Well, naturally I told them to get my vehicle out of their bay and I went for a second opinion. Turns out there was no metal in the oil and all that happened was a rocker arm fell off. Granted fairly common for these motors, but this was a simple 15 or 20 minute fix, but they still tried to sell me a used motor without actually even looking at what was wrong. I was told via a phone call that the tech pulled out the dipstick, saw metal and instantly trashed the motor. That was all they did.They did the bare minimum amount of diagnostic work and tried to charge me out the butt for it. Needless to say these guys have lost any future business from me and you can bet I will not be recommending them to friends or family.

Super manager and staff!!! Took me in right away, explained and showed me everything and will definitely keep coming back. Very courteous and knowledgeable!! No more going to shops that just go through the motions and dont back up their service. I highly recommend!!

Quick flat repair. Took an hour to get in and out with two cars ahead of me. Mechanics were knowledgeable but asked questions when they didnt have immediate answers. Price was higher than a nearby competitor but the repair was faster and tires were filled to the proper pressure afterward.

Great sevice, and quick! Had some tires swapped out, and needed a TPMS pressure sensor replaced. Dan narrowed it down to a single sensor issue and quoted me as such. When i came to pay he said a second sensor ended up also needing replaced, but he refused to charge me because he had already told me it was only one. Never been anywhere for car service that they didnt nickle and dime me until i came here. Thanks, guys!

There is nothing worse than driving from Philadelphia to Las Vegas and having your car breakdown on the I-280 West..from the time they answered the phone until the time I left Dan and Jake were beyond helpful, compassionate and extremely fast, they even stayed late to fix my car after hours so i could get back on the road. Words will never described how grateful I am of these two men. If only all auto shops could be like this...I am forever thankful!! You guys are AWESOME!!!!

I stoped in Car-X for an oil change and tire rotation. I was very impressed by speed and quality of work and friendliness . I have the tire rotations before, but Larrys team did what most dont. After the rotations they used a torque wrench to tighten lug nuts and did so useing the correct star pattern. I think we all have hear stories of tires coming off cars after a tire change. That wont happen after you leave this Car-X. They also replaced a fuse. I will be back and, to the crew, I say.....Thank you... and job well done.

The previous set of guys there were okay but seemed to be lacking in diagnostic abilities. The new set of employees really seems to know their stuff and do a good job (they give you the info you need to make informed decisions and avoid unnecessary or low priority repairs).

This place is so bad, typical shop adding charges for nothing, without my consent, and my vehicles always feel like somethings different when I get it back. Do not go here please!
