Worst customer service I have ever experienced. It is obvious this company pays for 5-stars and social media ranking. I purchased a backpack and wallet online based on a recommendation of a friend. When I received the backpack it was suede which I was not interested in purchasing. However, I thought “maybe I will give it a try”. The leather was extremely dry and picked up every single dirt, wet and clothing dye there was. Within the first use or two the bag became disgusting and dirty. I purchased a leather spray from Hammitt which I used the whole bottle over the course of the month trying to condition the leather and waterproof so that it doesn’t pick up so much damage on regular usage. I was shopping at Dillards and to my surprise they sold Hammitt! The lady working there noticed that I had a Hammitt bag and immediately came to look. She said, “oh my your bag came like this?” I was horrified because when she showed me the other natural hunter backpacks they were not nearly as dry and awful. She suggested that maybe I try conditioning it more. So, I went to Hammitt website and purchased their leather laundry. After using my bag has wet spot stains all over. I called Hammitt and the customer service rep said “oh yes, my computer doesn’t work so I will have my manager send you a return label because you’re passed the 30 day return window” I said okay. A few hours later I get a one sentence email from someone named Jayme saying “your return is invalid passed the 30 day window”. I found the response to be inconsistent from the phone call and short, dismissive. So I called back and asked if there was a mistake. The guy on the phone said, “oh yeah if your bag came that way we made a mistake and will be able to return. Let me have my manager email you”. Okay now I am getting the run-around. Why can’t they help me on the phone? Again, I get a rude email saying “too bad you ruined your bag it is now invalid for refund”. At this point I feel completely unheard and frustrated. I explain to this person via chat the story about how I am trying to do the right thing and remedy with their own product and they continue to dismiss me and say essentially “thought shit”. Instead of helping me with cleaning suggestions, care instructions, repair options, they just tell me over and over again they cannot and will not help because this is my fault. After googling the company it is obvious they spend thousands on SEO to bury any negative comments. They told me I couldn’t return my second order of leather cleaner because I passed the 30 day window even though this was not true. I had to go back and ask for a refund again only to be told oh yeah you’re right. With no apology or explanation why they are so terribly rude and disrespectful to my concerns. This is the worst customer service they tried to automate with a process that is not customer centric. I will tell everyone I know and stop at nothing to ensure that this company is exposed for their careless attitude toward customers.
We were so impressed with - wait for it - Hammitt’s high-end dog leash sets in the window that we went in, purchased two and a matching human bag. We found the quality as well as fashionable pieces unique, “every-day-accessible,” locally made and quite reasonably priced. The human bag purchased is cleverly engineered as “back-pack convertible” which makes it chic but practical. Service was so impressive no-doubt we will return. One hint Hammitt (with the hope we “pack” the place): expand that dog line and window-merchandise that dog-people accessorizing, maybe even add a shelter donation as “gift incentive.” Your leashes really worked to get us in and sell the beautiful pieces you design. One hint dog lovers: get in here and up your canine’s fashion game, ours really seem to know they are “looking good.”
OMG❣️ I wish I could have every single bag in the store.Two months ago I got rid of my Louis and moved to large Hammitt VIP.The Louis V. was awkward and it seems more people are carrying them ( or fakes) than Michael Kors and Coach, combined. I needed unique and well made. Crafts-person ship is more important to me than any elitist name.Hammitt is high end, but it is based upon quality and not on a social media influencer.A Hammitt is my only bag choice and a brick and mortar store makes a life with questions, answerable.
