Let me just applaud the customer service here!! My husband and I came from out of town and wanted to start the boat buying process. It just so happens that we got here about an hour before opening. We had no idea and walked in.A friendly mechanic named David said they werent open until ten but said dont worry and Ill show you around anyways. He was so friendly and had a wealth of knowledge.Let me just say WOW. I will remember them in the coming weeks when we decide on our boat.
While in the process of buying a new boat through GCM, I inquired as to what exactly was being provided with the cost of the trolling motor/GPS packages. After being approved for the boat through their finance department, I contacted the salesman to inform him of the news and again request an itemized list of what would specifically be included with the add-ons as to make an informed decision if I wanted to pay out of pocket for those at time of purchasing the boat or not.Salesman responded stating he would only provide this basic information to me if I ‘committed’ to buying the boat and immediately placed a down payment. I responded by telling the salesman I can’t agree to buy without all the information to which I was told ‘forget it’ ‘I’m not going to argue with you to sell a boat’. Essentially this salesman indicated it is GCM’s practice to bully one into blindly buying now and figuring out what you’re actually getting later…I took the salesman’s advice and went elsewhere. Terrible way of doing business for a 100% qualified and ready to purchase customer who only requested to know what equipment was being provided in their $3700 generic ‘trolling motor package’.
Has been a few months. We bought an inexpenive used boat.Treated like gold by entire staff.Thank you, Rob,Melissa, Chris and all.Yes a few months later and happy with purchase.
Well, guess we all learn lessons. Called to arrange service on an Evinrude engine that was originally purchased at this location. I am the second owner and the original owner had great things to say about their service. Problem is their service only extends to original owners. So be aware and dont even waste your time calling them they dont need additional business.4/1/2021To continue the saga of failed customer service. I contacted Shallow Sport directly via e-mail for an additional key. Shallow Sport referred my request to Gulf Coast marine. I received a call from someone at Gulf Coast marine about my inquiry. He asked who my salesman was and I informed him that I purchased the boat from a third party (who purchased it from them), He then asked if I had been into their parts department, I informed him I had not since the last time I called they werent interested in my business. He then told me to have a good day and HUNG UP. This is NOT an April fools joke.My next complain will be directly to Shallow Sport about their horrendous lack of customer service from this particular dealer.Hell will freeze over before I will go to this lousy place.4/5/2021Please read my review carefully, the fact that I TOLD the gentleman at Gulf Coast Marine that I had not been to or called the parts department, should have been a clue for him to offer assistance, instead he chose to HANG UP on me. Then after I posted my review I get a call from them regarding the request I sent to Shallow Sport for assistance obtaining a key. Too little, too late. Now they want to post a reply saying its my fault because I didnt call the parts department. Seriously, that is your customer service? I dont need your assistance any longer, I have a key. I also have an experienced Evinrude mechanic that helped me over the phone. They want my business and will receive it.Seems that all youre willing to do is make it the customers fault. Sadly you picked the wrong potential customer to do that with.
Thank you Gulf Coast Marine and Rob! I recently purchased a 2016 - 19’ Montauk Boston Whaler from these guys sight unseen. I was a bit reluctant as I’m up in NY state and making a 35k purchase via photos can be daunting. The salesman Rob was straight forward with the boats condition (which is like new) He helped me on the price, he helped me get it checked out/inspected from a 3rd party locally & Gulf Coast even towed the boat there at no cost.Rob met the transporter I hired upon pick up and made sure the boat was secure, the transporter was legit, and the trailer roadworthy. GCM put new tires on the trailer so there’d be no issues on the 1800 mile trip up North. A few cushions didn’t make it onto the boat at time of transport by mistake and Rob boxed them up and sent them out the next day.Rob told me after I pay my local sales tax when registering Gulf Coast would reimburse me the sales tax I spent in my state. Sure enough as promised I emailed them my proof of payment from DMV and a few days later the check was in my mailbox. The boat is FANTASTIC and we LOVE it!The boat was more than a fair price & in Excellent condition! Gulf Coast Marine delivered on their promises and I’d recommend their company to anyone. Thanks again Rob and everyone at GCM! You guys were a pleasure to work with!
Great place to buy and repair your boat
Went on test drive and the guy they sent to take us out had no business driving anyone. I understand that youd like customers to see what the boat can do but not when you almost submarine the boat coming out of jetty with 10ft seas at about 3 seconds. My neck still hurts. Not buying that boat or using this dealer.
Went to see the other store in CC
We recently purchased our Shallowstalker from here. The salesman was great. We couldnt find exactly what We wanted so they custom made all of the touches I was looking for. I think we got a great deal on our boat.
I cannot say enough good things about Gulf Coast Marine! Everyone from the Owner and sales staff to parts and service! Very knowledgeable and have they have an an Excellant selection of Saltwater Boats.
I was shopping for a nice used boat and found a 2010 23’ sea hunt boat on their website. I contacted the dealership and spoke to salesman JP Navarro, who turned out to be a salesman at the Bayou Vista store, just outside of Galveston. I learned the boat was at their Corpus dealership, but JP was easy to work with and was very responsive to my questions, he worked hard to provide more detailed photos and other information when requested. I literally called him several times a day, asking more questions. He was always on top of what ever I asked . This guy worked hard for both the dealer and myself. I made the deal long distance and had financing in place so when I made the 150 mile drive, if it was as good as it seemed, I’d close on the deal. When I arrived, the boat was clean And waiting for us to take it on a sea trial. After the sea trial, we closed the deal. The Owner Billy Holmes made sure we had all the necessary coast guard equipment and a spare tire to make our journey home. Go see JP Navarro and owner Billy Holmes if your looking for a quality boat dealer.
Great selection of saltwater boats inside and out! Wonderful environment.😃
This place has a great selection and the staff is very knowledgeable. Thanks to Wes for helping me find a boat that my family and I will enjoy. Keep up the good work!
What a great dealership, Fred thank you for help and making things happen and Marty is awesome coming through everything on the boat as well as the sea trial he knows his stuff.
If your looking for good service at a parts counter, look elsewhere. Ordered (and paided for) apart for my Etec and 10 days later had not heard back from them. I just stopped in to check on it and was first told that the part was no longer made, then told that there was now a different part number, then told it is on back order... 10 days! And they are just figuring this out? I was told that everything else in that order had already arrived but no one thought to check on the status of my part. What the hell would have happened if I hadnt showed up??? Shop elsewhere... Should have gone to Portland Marine.
I bought a boat motor and trailer in 1997 and although it was repowered in 2013 I haven’t had but a few dealings with GCM, they have all been good. I called today 20 minutes before closing and Wes did a very thorough job in 10 minutes of doing a fair market value so that I could insure it properly. I offered to call back tomorrow but he knocked out in 10 minutes and emailed it to me. It was the first time I have talked to him but he got it done and I cannot think of anything he could have done better.
It was the only local dealer that offered assistance in launching a new boat and the technician spent half a day with me on the boat reviewing all the boat systems and operations. They also included all the required Coast Guard safety equipment.
Very neat and clean. Staff friendly and helpful. Went in for boat parts . Parts were in stock. Great start to the day.
Parts guy was very knowledgeable and helpful. Cant find those kind of guys no more.....
If you want a good deal on a boat talk to Wes, hes your man.
I have always had the best experience here . Even when i brought a boat here to be worked on that was not purchased here they still treated me great! I am now buying my second new boat here.
I dont know how many times I called them and they said they were going to call me back and never did. Very unreliable, maybe it wouldve been better if I walked in but service over the phone was terrible.
Good job George!
We bought a New Silverwave Pontoon via the phone/internet from out of state from Gulf Coast Marine. The sale went well. However, the boat arrived without a battery. Every marine weve talked to has said they didnt include a battery with the boat? NO, they sure didnt! After you spend 10s of thousands on a boat, one would think it should be water ready?!?! Also, we just took it out for the first time, excited and with family & friends in tow. We load the boat with coolers and goodies. Get in the boat and NOTHING! Motor wont trim and no motor when turning the key. After a couple hours of trouble shooting we found a fuse was blown and got the trim to work. But still NO motor. Remember, this boat is brand new and weve been boat owners for 26 yrs.... not our 1st rodeo. So, we surrendered and went to 2 different local boat dealers to see if they had any tips on why the motor wouldnt even crank/turn/nothing. 2nd dealer found that the problem was in the handle/throttle that engages the motor forward, neutral and reverse. Its like the motor doesnt know its in neutral--therefore wont allow it to start. IF you play with throttle handle you can find the spot where it will start but you have to do it just right and eventually it will start while holding the key on.The moral of the story... a dealer should have the boat a 100% water ready. And, dont buy a bought from out of state. Reason: because NO other dealer wants to work on the boat even though its under warranty. You know the spill... you didnt buy it from us-were so busy we cant fit you in for 3 months . WELL by then our boating season will be over!SHAME on Gulf Coast Marine for not making sure the boat was water ready/running for a cash paying customer. Theres NO excuse for this poor customer service. Im 16 hours away and have little recourse but to give this detailed review. Im guessing thats why they didnt do their best. Lesson learned. And, please dont give me the line about me refusing the PDI (Pre Delivery Inspection). I did NOT refuse the PDI... I only stated I did NOT want the boat ran in salt water. Buyer beware when you purchase an item long distance. Their lack of customer service and lack of attention ruined our 1st day out with family and friends. And, now we have to find a dealer that can fix the issue and next week is July 4th (we have family reunion at the lake planned) and Im guessing its not likely to be resolved anytime soon..........Ughhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!Thanks (insert sarcasm) Gulf Coast Marine and Charlie in Corpus Christi Texas. You guys did an outstanding job (insert more sarcasm) on selling a water ready vessel. Huhhhh- #ridiculous #nothappy :(
I bought my World Cat new here in 2014 and have used only GCM for all my service needs. I found everyone from my salesman to the service writer to the service techs very good to work with. At one point I lost the programming to my engine gauges and the GCM Suzuki tech actually walked me through reprogramming the gauges over the phone. I just picked my boat up from getting an electrical issue resolved as well as a 100 hour service on the engines and could not be happier. Billy and his whole team are top notch to work with.
Capt. Fred was very nice and courteous in explaining the boats and options
Great place to buy a boat or other water craft.
Service was great! Very quick and easy!
We pulled into Gulf coast Marine because our motor would go down. Jeff in the parts dept diagnosed our problem and had it fixed and had us on our way in 15 minutes. I cant say enough good about Gulf Coast Marine and their employees.
These guys are great and know their boats!
They have it all...
Great boats good service
Great folks to deal with, Frank was awesome.
Great buying experience.
I dont remember going who went with. Me and what happened
Don’t ever buy a boat from Tim he will tell you the boat will be ready to pick up then when you are there to pick it up it’s not ready and then when it’s supposed to be ready again it won’t be ready. He will just give you the run around and never be honest and truthful to you. Tim is a terrible salesman and hangs up on you when you ask how long is it going to take.
Great parts people
Was slow and didnt have enough people to help everyone
Awesome people.
Nice place
This Gulf Coast Marine is great.
Great Service :-)
Very clean
They have a lot of variety of boats and very good service from the staff
