I came into this great shop looking for just new strings. I came out with better strings and a 200$ bow. Service was absolutely amazing. I had lots of different bows to try and found the perfect one for me. I’m hoping to come back around Christmas to upgrade my violin. I appreciate all the help I got as well as the friendly workers.

I brought my gf who is an amazing Fiddle player to get a new (trade-in) bow. I am so happy to have had a great first experience. Sidney (I think was her name) was one of the nicest, smiliest (made up word lol) people Ive ever met. You guys were great! Thanks for making our day great.

Both of my children outgrew their instrument after it was paid off. The Loft Violin Shop has never given me a hard time about upgrading them to a full size instrument. On top of that the staff is super knowledgeable and eager to help.

Very kind people. Very lucky people as well. Not to be cynical but to have deals with any large system, weather military, or school to have guaranteed yearly income is a blessing of god. I know it could be hectic but keep those smiles up.

It was so cool! It was rustic, and instruments were hanging off of the wall. I personally got a 4/4 violin, but if your an orchestra player, go here too get your things. 🎵🎶🎼🎻

We got a violin and cello. The violin sounds loads better than the cheap one I had been using. It resonates well and holds a tune. The total cost for the violin, case, book, bow and new shoulder rest was not bad at all. Same for the cello. Their rental prices are great and the instruments are even better.

I had to purchase a set of strings for my grandsons violin. I found the staff to be polite, helpful and my brief visit was a pleasant experience. Im happy to know that theres a place that can provide services as he explores his interest in music.

I’ve brought in 2 violins into the shop recently for repairs and they did a wonderful job with both of them. For one of the violins there was a lack of communication regarding additional repairs with a large change in cost that I didn’t find out about until when I was picking up the violin. However, what impressed me the most was that when they found out I was never informed about these additional repairs/costs they were quick to apologize and refund the difference to make things right. They clearly care about their customers and do great work!

Building is not ADA compliant or mobility accessible. Everything else about my visit aside, if disabled people cannot enter your establishment it is clear that you do not view them with respect.

I was told a price over the phone and after coming in they wanted to charge more. They said They didn’t know it was not a violin even though I made sure to mention that over the phone since it’s an Eastern instrument and not everyone familiar with it.

I took in my violin that I havent played in about 9-10 years to have the bow rehaired and they checked everything else out to make sure it was still in good condition. They also installed new strings during my appointment.The staff was very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful.Making and going in for an appointment was hassle free. They even did curbside pickup for when I went back for my bow. Very happy with my experience, especially during this pandemic. I will continue to choose The Loft Violin Shop for any violin-related needs!

The worst customer service ever! We went on a Saturday, when we first walked in the door we were abruptly met with “do you have an appointment?”We said no, she gave us a clip board with an application and commanded us to go out in our car and fill it out, bring it in when we’re done. There was no one else in the waiting area, there were 3-4 chairs, we were the only ones there. Their website did not say by appointment only. If all of this behavior was because of COVID, they need a better way of conveying that to customers. We’ll take our business else where.

The Loft is my go-to place for the vast majority of my stringed-instrument needs. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. The service work Ive had done there has always been spot-on (and ready when promised).If someone I know is interested in learning a stringed instrument (or has a child starting a string program), I have no hesitation sending them to the Loft for an instrument. Their rental program is exceptional (both of my children took advantage of it while they were in school). Instead of ordering something from the web, get a properly sized, fitted, and professionally setup instrument from the Loft for monthly payments that go toward purchase. Likewise, once an instrument is owned, they have a similarly generous trade-up program.

Knowledgeable staff, excellent customer service. I brought in a 100+ year old violin and they were able to give me some information about the quality of the instrument, and some details about a repair that had been done to it. They also let me know what it would cost to make it playable and helped me to evaluate if it was worth the investment. Highly recommended.

They have worked on two of my violins that are fairly old. Both came back set up perfectly. One needed some extensive work and was ready after a few weeks. It was worth the short wait. I am playing this violin almost exclusively. I am very thankful for their understanding, and care.

Always a pleasure to shop at The Loft. They are the most knowledgeable people when it comes to string instruments that I have ever encountered. I have visited St Louis, Chicago, Cincinnati and Atlanta and have yet to find their equal. No high pressure sales. The goal is to accommodate the customer and still be true to the musical requirements of the instrument. If you only need strings they will guide you to the correct ones in your price range. Need a complete rebuild? They can do it in a timely and professional manner. They are my go to place for everything strings!

We stopped in to begin a violin rental for my 10-year-old son. The salesperson was friendly, knowledgeable, and she took time to teach my son the basics of taking care of a violin with entertaining language that he could understand and remember. As an added bonus, the instrument was surprisingly affordable.He’s very excited to start making music, and we’re very happy with our experience!

Its a half-hour trip for me to get here, and I wouldnt think about going anywhere else. I needed my bow rehaired and they took care of it quickly. They were always friendly. Even today when they were extremely busy, there is no feeling of being rushed. I bought my cello here in the early 90s and wouldnt think of going anywhere else

I have been going to the Loft for four years now to rent and tune my cello. I have never gone anywhere else, and honestly, I dont want too. Every time I visit they are kind to me, and tune my cello perfectly free of charge. I would recommend to any string instrument player.

We are just starting out with the cello for my daughter. We had a great experience here from start to finish. The gentleman explaining how to care for the instrument was kind and patient with an excited 9year old and the check out process was painless. Highly recommend.

We came here per my daughters schools recommendation to rent her first viola and I am very glad we did. The staff was friendly and knowledgable and gave each customer enough information without making other customers wait very long. My daughter was so excited to carry her viola out and play as soon as we got home.

The Loft is a fantastic shop, both in the customer service offered and the general atmosphere itself.The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. They do a great job of answering the questions a customer may have, in a non-condescending manner.Finally, most of the products offered are reasonably priced. That said, there are a few items that are a bit high (when compared to other brick and mortar shops in the state), but not the the extent that I would be persuaded to shop elsewhere.The Loft is definitely my favorite music store in central Ohio.

We have been going to The Loft Violin Shop for years! Our grandson Liam began playing the violin in elementary school and took private lessons. As he grew and needed new violins, the staff of this amazing place were always ready with ideas and perfect instruments. It is wonderful to hear him play the different violins and bows as he thinks about changing or upgrading. His violin teacher went to The Loft with him once when he upgraded to help him find his sound. And now, he is so excited to be a member of the Chamber Orchestra at his high school. After trying a few other places, my cello instructor and I drove up to The Loft from Cincinnati. The staff are all amazing, so friendly and helpful! The prices on cellos beat all others we looked at and I ended up purchasing a cello that Im very happy with at a great price. And when Im ready to upgrade I get full trade-in value!

They are wonderful. Friendly and top notch customer service. Their passion for the instruments is obvious. Reasonably priced. Extremely fair policies for rental to ownership. Patient. I was nervous with renting but they really left a wonderful impression. When our bank card changed they did not stress. They were very understanding and polite. Did not charge us for the card declining as soon as we provided them the updated number.

A local luthier with quality instruments and skilled repair staff. I take my school-owned instruments here for repair as well as my personal instrument. Most of the staff are experienced musicians themselves. The Loft has the best string instrument rental program in Columbus. Besides repairs, the Loft sells accessories like strings, rosin, and cases. I highly recommend them for your string instrument needs.

A pleasure to deal with. Their rental program gives exactly what it promises. The violin they sent was a Core K500P kit with a one-piece back. It sounds fantastic. They ship them with Preludes however, so if you want a better string you will need to ask before they ship it. I had them put Dominants on mine.

Best place ever for violins!!! They are very helpful. They can repair anything, rehair bows, sell you cases, rosin... Their rent to buy option is excellent! The instrument keeps its full value and you can trade up anytime. I would never go anywhere else. They also have violas, cellos and bases.

Looked busy when I came in, but they brought out more staff and I didnt have to wait. I bought a new violin string and had a small broken screw on another violin fixed. I dont even care if the string was $1 cheaper online, I got it right away AND they installed it for free, quick, courteous, and turned. They even replaced the screw free (probably because the violin had a little L symbol showing that Id bought it from them?).Great place to rent (rent to own, no extra charge!) a violin of your child is just starting.Nice shop, nice people.

This shop is so helpful! Ive been wanting to learn how to play some strings instruments for my school and my teacher recommended me to go here to rent an instrument instead of actually buying one (because it was my first year, and if I ended up not liking it I wouldnt have to waste all the money). I had originally started on a cello and stuck with it for a few months but then I really got the urge to switch. I went to turn my cello in, and I spoke to the lady for a bit and ended up exchanging it for the viola instead.All the money that went towards my cello (that I ended up not keeping), which was like $240, ended up being transferred over to the newly acquired Viola I have! It was really nice because I never really lost the money! The people are really great the costumer service is amazing.In the end the woman helped me save a lot of money, not talking me into buying anything I didnt need or so on. Essentially she saved me money.HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!! VERY HAPPY!!!

I had taken my violin in with many open seams, an out of place sound post, and a bridge that needed some work. They finished it within the time they told me, offered me the lowest prices for each repair, and even threw in an exchange of a tuning peg. Very nice people at The Loft.And, upon closer inspection, theyve worked on it even more!

Dropped my bows off for rehairing today via curbside. They returned my instrument case to me and when I picked it back up I noticed they had not zipped up my case completely AND for some reason they took my violin out of its bindings and then didnt secure my >$8k violin back into the bindings AND took my cloth dust cover without my permission. Seriously?!

Amazing shop. I was lucky enough to get a tour and was blown away by the workshop, the instuments, basically everything. We have rented a cello from The Loft for over two years. Any time there have been any issues at all, they have been quick to help and find a solution. I am so happy we have a place like this in Columbus. I have been renting a cello for four years from the loft. Their customer service is unparalleled. When I bought my cello, they were extremely helpful and showed me many options and styles. I had to replace my cello for a damage and they replaced it free of charge and gave me rosin and cloth for free. I drive over an hour and a half to go here, and it’s worth it every time.

The Loft is not the closest violin shop to me. They are not the cheapest either. But their service is always great. I usually go during busy weekend hours, however, the line usually goes fast.

Beautiful old building that they encourage you to explore. Home to expert advice on stringed instruments of all sorts, both sales and service. Parking can be tricky based on time of day - look to some of the small lots at adjacent businesses or park on a side street.

They brought violins to a free ProMusica concert at the Karl Road library. Violins the other kids could touch and play!!It was amazing. Their staff were brilliant with the kids and the violins were 1/16th and pre marked on the neck with notes. My son loved it and he was taking about the rest of the day.Just a wonderful gift of music from wonderful people.Thank you!!

The Loft is awesome. Their rental program for children is very convenient and money-saving, and the quality of the violins they offer students is amazing. I believe that the better the childs violin is, the easier it will be for them to learn to play and the more theyll enjoy it.When I began with a 1/4 for my daughter, her teacher asked where we got it because it sounded so much better than those the local place offered. When it was time to upgrade to a 1/2, Im pretty sure we got a brand new one that the luthiers at the Loft had made. Her teacher RAVED about that violin. She actually sat there and played it for a few minutes just because she couldnt believe a 1/2 size student violin could sound so beautiful. Now she tries to send everyone in the Mansfield area down to the Loft for violins.As for my daughter... the rentals are paid off, its time for a 3/4, so were headed down to upgrade again. Its very nice to know I can do this instead of having to buy a new one and then figure out what to do with the one thats now too small for her.

If youre looking for stringed instruments, violin, viola, cello, bass, thisis the only place you should go. Locally owned and managed by the most caring people. Theyre all musicians so they understand what you need or want. They have the most beautiful selection of instruments for sale or lease and they know how to repair everything. Ive been going there for the past 12 years and wouldnt go anywhere else.
