Ill be honest, I was going to buy my 11 year old daughters first pair of eyeglasses with an online retailer. My hubby took our daughter in on a Friday night to try on glasses. Michele set aside the pair she liked for me to check out the next day. I approved and the rest was history. My daughter is super duper happy. We appreciate the professionalism, customer service, and sweetness of Michele and the staff. Michele is amazing with her optician skills. Well be back!
My daughter and I walked in today hoping to get the nose pad on the bridge of her glasses replaced. Michele helped us and treated us as though we had been long time customers when in fact we hadnt even purchased glasses there. Michele did not even charge us for the replaced pad. Her service and courtesy were top notch. Would highly recommend to others.
They have some of the nicest staff here. Always respectful and very understanding. The sales associate who helped me with my glasses was incredible, as is the rest of the staff here. Definitely recommend.

It was time for mother to obtain new glasses and she wanted to return to the same store she used two years ago. I took her to Pearle Vision in Columbia Mall as I did two (2) years ago. The staff at this location is exceptional. If all businesses, especially stores, operated with patience, courtesy, and general kindness as demonstrated by this store, it would truly be amazing. My mother left the store feeling great about her purchase and confident that everything was done to ensure her new glasses would be a perfect fit. Syuzanna from Pearl Vision greeted us upon entering the store and made sure we new if anything was need she was there to help. Syuzanna treated my mother who is a senior citizen with patience and responded to every question she had. EXCEPTIONAL experience.
We went to Pearle Vision for our routine eye exams and had a great experience with Dr. Shastri. She was very thorough, friendly and addressed all of our concerns. After getting new glasses, we can see so much clearer now. The office was clean and proper safety precautions were taken so we felt comfortable there..
I brought my daughter to Pearle Vision at the Mall in Columbia to buy some frames. Syusannah helped us complete our purchase. In this day and age, good customer service is often lacking or nonexistent. But Syusannah went above and beyond to explain our options, what our insurance would cover (or not). She was kind, competent and very helpful. We will definitely return to this location.
I saw Dr. Schwab. She was great! The exam was easy and not long at all. She answered my questions thoughtfully and thoroughly. The entire staff was welcoming and knowledgeable too.
It was a a truly amazing experience. Everyone was friendly and professional. The eye doctor, Nicole Shasri was very thorough, knowledgeable and took extraordinary effort and time to explain issues she had detected regarding my eyesight and referred me to specialist for follow-up.. Syuzama assisted me in my selection of and needs for two new frames and lenses and even arranged to have the eyeglass expedited due to travel plans I had made. As a result of her attitude, concern and attention, I received both sets of glasses within a a few days rather than two weeks !! All in all, it was the best eyeglass experience I have ever had.. Caring and competent people in every way.
I chose Pearle Vision b/c they’re in-network w/ my health insurance, and the Columbia location was convenient. I’ve had poor eyesight forever and have worn glasses since age 5, so I’ve been to a variety of eye doctors over the years. I had an eye exam w/ Dr. Shastri who took the time to do a thorough exam and also explain things to me (such as the results of the Optomat Screening and reviewed what the results mean, warning signs to be aware of based on a finding from that additional screening). She was professional but personal and thorough. She answered all of my questions without making me feel rushed. I then met with Syuzanna who assisted me with picking out and ordering glasses and lenses. The store had a fair selection of frames to choose from. I did not feel rushed in the process of choosing a pair, which anyone who wears glasses knows the decision of which frames to buy is one you want to make carefully, and chose a pair you’ll be happy with for the next few years. Syuzanna was also warm, personal, and professional. She helped me understand my insurance benefits and move forward with the order of frames and lenses. The next day, Syuzanna called me to follow-up on ordering contacts as we had discussed, and then she was willing to call me back again to answer a question I had for the eye doctor. She demonstrated excellent customer service as she clearly worked to offer me the best possible price for contact lenses. I chose Pearle Vision in Columbia for in-network health insurance benefits, but I was so pleased with the experience and customer service that I will definitely continuing coming here and I recommend others do the same.
Easily the best experience at any optometrist Ive ever visited in 30+ years. Making the appointment was a breeze, they took my insurance information and didnt give me the hard sell on add-ons that my insurance didnt cover. Dr Schwab made the exam about as fun as it could be. Shes kind, patient, relatable, and competent. Ben, who help me and my two teenagers choose frames, was friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. It was a great experience all around and I wouldnt hesitate to recommend to friends and family.

An employee around my age named kJ Neal made me feel like a valued customer. This employee catered to my every question comment and concern along with convincing me not to switch companies. Dr. Schwab was friendly and relatable.Ive worn contact lenses for almost 20 years, and glasses for an even longer period of time. As such, Ive had several eye exams and met with a handful of optometrists. The eye exam with Dr. Schwab was, dare I say, fun.I appreciated that she explained each device ahead of using it so I knew what to expect during the exam. Again, given my lengthy experience with having my eyes checked, these devices/tests are not a surprise to me. However, it was still nice to know that the parallel parking test (Ive already aged myself here, might as well keep going) of an eye exam (that anxiety-inducing red dot air puff thing) was coming first.The gentleman servicing the optical shop was also friendly and communicative. I do not recall his name, but he added to the overall positive experience I had at this Pearle Vision location.
Love this Pearl Vision. Saved my weekend fixing my glasses that my child sat on. KJ Neal was awesome and so nice. He understood how important it was to fix them quickly and stepped right up to help get it done. And we made our movie! Yes!Tom
This was probably one of the best experiences that I have had visiting the eye doctor. From the initial call to me picking out my glasses the staff was awesome. Judy the receptionist was extremely nice. I brought my son to the appointment with me and she allowed him to look at my during my initial eye test. Dr. Hood is prompt, friendly and very personable. Vann is awesome at helping you decide what you want and how it looks. He is worth the wait as he says because I was taking a really long time to find something perfect for me and the store was filling up pretty quickly. What I loved about him is that he gave YOU all of his attention. I am so glad I got on here to read the previous reviews because they are not lying. The staff here are great! Please dont change for anything. The concept of customer service has been lost on most people in the service industry but these people prove that it still exists and should be commended for it! Excellent job guys!
I had a wonderful experience at this eye center. I was seen promptly. Everyone was super nice, friendly, and very helpful. The hours at the center are great, I can actually go after work instead of taking PTO. The doctor was very informative and explained everything he was doing and why. They have online appointment scheduling which is AMAZING. Basically, it was a great experience. I will be sending my husband in when its time for his exam and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone.
The receptionist, Judy, is so friendly and welcoming, and Dr. Hood is very professional and knowledgeable. They were able to fit me in same-day for both of my contact lens fitting appointments, and Im very pleased with my new prescription. Not having vision insurance, Judy helped me out and gave me a nice discount on the exam. Excellent service all around and highly recommend!
Very poor customer service and the desk receptionists lack of knowledge about insurance benefits etc. Despite asking multiple times before appointment what the price would be for eye exam, the person did not provide me any info. After the exam they charged me a ridiculous amount despite her saying insurance should cover most of it.

This was my second visit in 2 years to Pearle Vision. The customer service is outstanding. They helped me understand my insurance coverage and there were no hidden fees. Dr. Hood was friendly and professional. He answered my questions clearly and I never felt like he was rushing to get to his next patient. I will definitely go back.
If i read the review before i go there. I wouldnt go get my eye exam. I made an appointment and ask how much is eye exam and specific i told i would like to get contact lenses. Lady who took appointment she said it will be $79. I said thats good deal. I went there got my eye exam and lens. They asked me ridiculous amount $190-ish. And staff are rude. Doctor was great but rest of the staff. End of the day, they did t accepting what they told me on the phone, they just gave my eye exam paper and said if i want my contact lens stuff i have pay more for it. That is lack of information what they are giving people and they got you end of the all exams. They should train their employees better how to talk and communicate with customer. I never step in there again...

I absolutely LOVED my experience at Pearle Vision! If I could give them 10 stars I would. It started with fitting me in at a few hours notice. Judy, the office manager, is a sweetheart of mega proportions. So welcoming, kind, funny and warm! Dr. Hood is extremely professional, highly knowledgeable without a hint of patronizing. As prices were concerned, I got a cash price less then what I had to pay with my insurance involved. I loved my experience so much, that not only I will be back I am also planning on ordering my glasses from them. Highly recommend!
Visited this establishment October 14 2015 after researching a few different offices. After reading reviews I decided to give them my business and very happy with decision. Everyone on staff between the doctors office and the store were very friendly and helpful. I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Hood who was fantastic.Dr. Hood explained everything he was doing, what he was looking for. He compared my eyes to problem eyes which really helped show what he was looking for. I learned that i have a freckle in one of my eyes how crazy is that! I previously had gone to a Vision Works in White Marsh big mistake, your in and out with limited information. I would recommend and encourage everyone to make Dr. Hood their new eye doctor! You wont be disappointed!
The retail store is good but I am not at all happy with their doctors services. Last time I was there with a lady doctor and she was really impatient while I was trying to wear contacts lenses. The retailer person was really nice but I will never go for that doctor.

Dr. Hood is absolutely the most caring eye Dr. Ive had in forever. His job and taking care of his patients are a passion and its very apparent in his genuine concern. He explains procedure and prescription thoroughly, so you arent ever leaving confused and frustrated. Deborah ( i think thats her name) the front desk...shes the sweetest woman there is!

I bought a pair of glasses from this place about 3 years ago and with time my glasses got loose. I went to the store and told them my glasses were giving me trouble. The gentlemen who were working listened to my concerns and told me the solution. Once I agreed, he heated up the frame and it was good as new. Thank you, Amar, I think

Rude doctor and staff. I was asked to arrive 15 minutes early which I did. The wait was long. 45 minutes is crazy. I told them I had to get a quick bite since I had to skip breakfast for a doctors appoint and lunch for this one. I was just going to get something across the way and be back in 5 minutes was told no. They can make me wait 45 minutes but can not wait 5 minutes for me?
Last week I went to this location to receive an eye exam. Dr. Hood was friendly, professional, and very knowledgeable. He did an efficient exam and put me at ease throughout the experience. I highly recommend him. Also the Pearle Vision staff is very helpful when/if you decide to order contacts or glasses at the location. I did not feel hurried or pushed to order, like I have at other places.
If I could give this place zero stars I would. I was going to this Pearle Vision for two years, absolutely no problems or issues. I called to clarify an appointment discrepancy and was met on the other end of the line by David, who immediately gave me attitude to my questions and tried to speak over me while I was explaining the problem, continued to try and yell over me and then gave extreme attitude that was inappropriate and couldn’t give me an insightful answer even after being put on hold twice. When I asked to speak to a manager I was rudely told they were gone for the day and not given any number or option of a time to speak with them, mind you this was 2pm, I’m half convinced he was lying. I ended up cancelling my appointment and I’m taking my business elsewhere. If you want rude inappropriate disgusting customer service, this is your place. Otherwise, take your money elsewhere.

I️ visited the Columbia mall Pearle Vision center and was told that the optometrist will not give me a copy of my eyeglass prescription as it is 16 months old. Most state laws indicate the Rx is good for 2 years. This Pearl policy is entirely designed to induce unnecessary eye examinations and fees. My healthcare information, including all records, belongs (by law) to me. I️ will not return.
The store itself is fine but the actual independent eye doctor you get your eyes checked their has a awful receptionist. I constantly call to make a appointment and get hanged up on or nobody answers at all. Makes me wonder if they are interested in making money at all.
Ive been going to this location for the past few years and never once have I had bad service. I always see Dr. Hood which is excellent and the staff are just as equally helpful, attentive and pleasant. Highly recommend!

Mr. Andy I believe hes now the assistant Mgr is THE BEST, the staff is so kind and patient. I have a son who has autism. Mr. Andy showed him how to put his first pair of glasses on woooweee. We went through at least 7 pairs of glasses. Thanks for having a Brilliant Staff.
I made an appointment last year after my exam. I got a postcard in the mail asking me to confirm my appointment in a few weeks. Called to confirm and was told that the appointment is no longer valid because of new doctor. !?! First, tell me WHEN you cancel my appointment and second, do NOT send me a postcard to confirm an appointment you will not honor! Now they have no appointments available in the next month or two, at least, with the day/time that I can use. What a way to lose customers! I was going there for over 10 years.
Visited this center today. Saw dr Pham. She was great. Very very thorough and took her time with me. Great visit and she was very helpful as was the rest of the staff. Shelly was great also!!! Keep up the great work guys :)
Horrible experience. Their buy one get one free is actually buy one get one half off. I called in on the date that I was supposed to pick up my glasses and the manager said they were ready to pick up, but unfortunately I couldnt go that day because it was raining hard. About a week later I came in to pick them up and they werent ready? The store associate said he didnt understand why the glasses werent ready, so he called the lab and no response from them. Well, in the end I had him do a refund and he gave me coupons for my next visit (?) Theres no way Im coming back. No wonder why LensCrafters is more expensive than any other vision stores. I dont know how many times they have made this mistake before but Im hoping they wont make one again in the future. Good luck with your business. And dont talk bad about your customers in front of them. Cheers!

Id read reviews here before going to these guys. I felt my spectacles number had increased and went to Pearle Vision for a checkup. The doctor who administered my eye exam was inept and increased my number by a VERY marginal amount. I ended up paying $300 for a new pair of spectacles and my eyes still felt the SAME. I then went to another eye specialist and had to make a new pair. My insurance did not cover eye Care so everything was sadly out of pocket. Wouldnt recommend this place.
The Dr was rude and wouldn’t listen to me about how certain lenses give me migraines. She prescribed them anyway. They are late on appointment times. Poor glasses selection. Pushed me to pay extra for things.
I must say they have a decent range of selection and the prices were pretty affordable but customer service was HORRIBLE except when attended by Mr.Neal ( better than how the rest were) .
Very poor customer Service have my eye exam was ok but when I returned to order my contact lens the guy told me if I want the monthly lens instead the daily I need another eye exam doesnt make sense to me but also request emergency contacts and they dont have contacts in store I can go to a costco or bjs basically he kick me out of the store
Dr. Hood is excellent. He has current technology and answers all questions in ENGLISH, not gobblydegook.The Pearle staff, led by Manager Vann is superb. They are the most professional staff I have dealt with in the past 30 years. They know eyesight - not just selling frames or taking orders.Im not sure where the best price is; I know that MY EYES are in the best care with Dr. Hood and Vann and Stan. Its YOUR EYES and eye care is NOT a commodity!
This location has lost my business forever. After spending hundreds of dollars between me and my wifes glasses they failed to give me simple customer service when I needed it. I had an issue with one of my transitional lenses, I went in an one sales associate took the time to examine the lenses under there equipment. She told me it was the film peeling. When I went back in to pick up the new lenses I wanted to make sure if it happened again I wouldnt be liable for the cost of the lense. Well their poor customer service kicked in. Instead of actually examining the glasses, another associate and the optometrist decided it was better to just blame me for not treating the glasses properly. They insisted on saying that I scratched them (no scratches on lenses) and when I asked the guy Vann to check under the equipment he thought it was a good idea to be condescending and insult my intelligence. Long story short they will no longer get any of my money nor do I recommend anyone else to spend theirs.
