I really enjoyed the ice cream experience here. Lot of fun flavors and reasonably priced, too. Got the blueberry sweet cream, the black currant and the blackberry/sage. The latter really confused me because for whatever reason to me it tasted like banana cream. Oh well. Still delicious LOL. Thank you for having your indoor dining open! Paired with duck donuts for the win!
First time visit... didnt like the twist knob door or that the employees werent wearing gloves while switching from handling ice cream and money. We ordered lemon basil cheesecake, strawberry, and almond coconut chip (my daughters favorite) waffle cones. The lemon basil was missing cheesecake flavor and/or pieces. The strawberry was okay. One of the cones crumbled. For the price, it was okay.
Unlike most people, I got their tea. It was really good. I asked for two different flavors and the workers kindly mixed them for me and it turned out delicious. My wife and sister each for double scoops of coffee and vanilla. They enjoyed them. My favorite of the two was coffee.Outdoor seating is a must, only three tables inside and it can feel really packed if the line to order is long.
Sweet Cream consistently delivers seasonally inspired ice cream and sorbets that push the boundaries of flavor combinations in surprising and (usually) successful ways. This summer, sweet corn ice cream is on the menu and is what you want to be thinking about while you nap in the hammock after Sunday dinner. If youd like something a little traditional, try the banana pudding ice cream. This shop fastidiously followed masking protocols throughout the pandemic and is still exceedingly careful. It was a relief to have somewhere safe to take my son for an after school treat.
Some of the best ice cream Ive ever had! I got the dark chocolate, and my girlfriend got the green apple and espresso ice creams. I was impressed with with all 3 flavors! The chocolate was solid, the green apple was an interesting flavor that I didnt expect to work, but it did. The coffee ice cream was very good too. A perfect end to a long day out.
Cute ice cream shop. They serve coffee and ice cream. Don’t ask them if they serve affogato (espresso over ice cream) because that’s a weird question to them and they will laugh at you BEFORE you pay them and exit the store. Odd customer service model of you like making tips.Otherwise the coffee toffee ice cream was pretty yummy though lacking on the toffee side.
We visited Sweet Cream Co. as we were passing through downtown Columbia while on our way to North Carolina. This is a nice little ice cream shop with unique flavors. My wife tried the Fluffernutter and the scoops were huge. The ice cream had good flavor and a nice thick texture. They also have ice cream cookie sandwiches. We weren’t quite adventurous enough to try the banana curry ice cream, but if you are looking for a place with out of the box flavors, definitely give this little place a try.
Oh! My goodness! AWESOME 👌👏😎.IF I COULD GIVE 10 STARS I WOULD.Excellent customer service, very clean establishment, and the best ice cream in Columbia, SC.Love the fresh unique variety of flavors..you have to try Sweet Cream Co.
AMAZING Place! The moment you walk in you can smell the fresh waffle cones that had been just freshly made and the ice cream selection is phenomenal. You can try them to see what you like but they are all delicious tasting. Along with there fresh waffle cones are scrumptious. Definitely will be coming back to try more. Along with letting my friends know to come and try this place! Thanks for the friendly smiles and greetings.
The best ice cream ever. Always love trying the different flavors. Love the fact that its not to sweet and just so light.
This place is really good. The ice has great flavor. I had gotten the cone with 2 flavors. One was fluffanutter and the other one was a cashew one. I tried a few different flavors and let me tell you it was hard to decide which one I wanted. I would definitely go back. They have new flavors all the time when one runs put.
Columbia is famously hot, but I only dream of a single place when the sun is blazing: Sweet Cream Company. To ink my praise would never suffice to describe the beauty, the glory, and the unadulterated joy that comes from trying a new flavor. Not even Shakespeare could render by sonnet and verse what these ice cream masters create with cream, candyfloss, and locally sourced ingredients. Hemingway and Steinbeck can offer no more perfect art than two scoops in a cone; Lord Byrons poems wither in comparison to flavors like German Chocolate Cake while the stories of Updike, Oates, and Atwood give less succor than a fresh scoop of Black Currant or Lemon Sorbet...Listen close and take my words to heart: when the sun is high or spirits are low, take yourself to Sweet Cream where dreams are written in 16 ice-cold flavors and let their frozen poetry clad in waffle cones sing to you.It really is that good.
Creative flavors to experience with your ice cream like Whiskey/Pecan, Pancetta, and a delicious Honeydew Sorbet. A great find for a tasty treat!
Enjoy trying each of the interesting flavors. So far I’ve loved them all!
Good ice cream! Not super creamy or heavy. Blueberry basil is the best tasting one! The others are ok.
The only bad thing about Sweet Cream is that it’s ruined other ice cream for us. Super high quality ice cream with unique flavor options. My fiancé and I love Sweet Cream so much we’re having it served at our wedding, it’s pretty much the only thing that tempts us for dessert. We go often and the service is always wonderful, both the owners and staff are kind, friendly, and patient. The Trail Mix ice cream they had recently surprised me and is somehow one of my favorite things I’ve ever eaten (Sweet Cream if you see this please work Trail Mix into your rotation I ❤️ it so much).
Best ice cream in Columbia area hands down! Great staff. Unique favors.
This ice cream tastes pleasant. Its pleasant-ness is so overwhelming that your whole day will become pleasant just from this one moment.
It was clean and the customer service was great. As far as the ice cream goes there was nothing spectacular about it. It was ice cream. The waffle cone was over cooked.
If you come to Columbia South Carolina and you are in the area definitely gotta stop at sweet cream, the ice cream is definitely one of the best I have had anywhere And the staff all of them were always friendly and with great customer service. The whole week I was in Colombia had to stop once A-day.
First time visiting. Didnt know it was there. I dont come downtown much due to the pandemic but even before then it was at night so this place would be closed. Quaint ice cream shop. I think the owner said theyd been around almost ten years but dont quote me on that. I did a mixture of different flavors for my double scoop cups. Smooth ice cream and flavor wasnt too strong. Maybe Ill get another chance to visit!
Ice cream is delicious! Flavors rotate regularly.
I love going here after dinner. It just hits the spot. So refreshing.
Everything tasted amazing and homemade! Definitely the best ice cream shop to go downtown.
A cozy ice cream and coffee shop that makes awesome product. Theres many coffee options, from the normal hot coffee to cold brew concentrate to beans that are aged in a whiskey barrel. But I came for the ice cream. The options seem seasonal, with options like Clove (it was really unique and delicious, not harsh at all). I got a scoop of Sugar Cookie with Praline and a scoop of Gingerbread Cheesecake with caramel, which were both decadent and high quality ice cream. The gingerbread flavor was the best of the ones I tried, but all were great.
I love this place! Good sorbet for those who like it! Good ice cream! Nice people!
This place is great. They always have awesome coffee and great ice cream.
The seasonal flavours is the highlight of Sweet Cream. They are very unique and a must try.
Good ice cream but one scoop for $5 in a cone is too expensive
This place is truly amazing - coming from someone who doesnt care for ice cream but is married to, well... an ice cream snob hehe. the vibe is laid back, inviting & is user friendly - i feel like im overwhelmed with menus from similar shops. the employees are very passionate & accommodating! my husband mentioned the ice cream sandwich of the month (peanut butter and jelly, yum!) so i knew i had to get some - despite the fact that i was making an hour long trip home... these sweet folks hooked me up with four sandwiches and even gave me an ice pack for my bag! so lovely & sweet - very appropriately named!
Some of the best ice cream weve had hands down. Thank you for a wonderful experience.
Excellent ice cream. All homemade and very tasty. Good waffle cones. Mint and strawberry and banana pudding are some of the best flavors. Very clean and very friendly staff. Lots to see in the surrounding downtown area in walking distance.
Best vanilla ice cream weve ever had. Cone was goooood. Would rate 6 stars if I could!
Excellent ice cream and nice combination of flavors. Friendly staff. Very clean.
OMG!! awesome ice-creams!
I would rate this a zero if I could. Very rude because I was not wearing my mask the way she demanded I wear it. A lot of anger in her heart. Does not need to be serving something so sweet.
Awesome handmade icecream, and friendly accommodating staff.
Whiskey bean was delicious 😋
Their whiskey pecan is Ahhhmazing! Waffle cones were great too!
This has become my favorite place for ice cream. Everyone is very friendly and helpful, but the ice cream and sorbet is some of the best Ive had in a long time. Ive had a lot of the flavors and loved them all, but if the White Chocolate Raspberry Almond or the Goat Cheese Agave Walnut is on the menu Im grabbing a pint or two. The cookie sandwiches are also amazing, I try to get one every month.
So although the flavors were ALL rather bizarre it was a cute place. Staff is ok. Not really the most kid friendly place and its an ice cream shop (weird). 💁 Clean & quaint with indoor seating and a couple park benches on the sidewalk. Itd be really nice if they had a handful of regular flavored ice creams. They only have 1 style of cone...and its waffle. A little pricey too.
Good whisky coffee. Not much choice in ice cream for lactose intolerant folks.
Small selection, but excellent flavors that are not found other places.
Delicious unique flavors.
Delicious! Our local go to.
Really thought for the price scoop would be bigger. My child enjoyed the treat.
One of the best Ice Cream Shops Ive ever been too. The waffle cones are superb and the rotating flavors are incredibly delicious.
Very unique flavors, I highly recommend this place if you need dessert after a meal or just craving some ice cream. The portions are perfect, I could eat here everyday! It feels good to support local business too, Im trying to do more of that.
Milkshakes here are Delicious!! In and out. Fast, and friendly!!
This is my favorite ice cream EVER. The shop is very cute and cozy. They hand make the ice cream and invent new flavors. Support local and give this place a try!
I ordered 3 scoops of 3 different flavors but they wouldnt put them into separate containers for me (I was driving back to Lexington and didnt want them to melt together). Cant support a business with this kind of customer service.
Very tasty ice cream with pretty good prices.
Very nice staff and the ice cream was amazing
The ice cream is as good as its name.. creamy. Nice selection and staff was great.. a nice treat.
Good ice cream pleasant staff.
An excellent stop for all. The ice cream is rich and creamy, the selection is plentiful, and the service fantastic. For myself, I like to judge places like this based on the vanilla ice cream that is served. Everyone that has had ice cream has had vanilla at some point. The quality of vanilla ice cream can vary greatly though. The Madagascar vanilla bean ice cream was by far one of the best I have had. If you dont know what a good vanilla ice cream should taste like, then you should take a moment and come here. Only then will you realize how great of a gap there is in other vanilla ice creams and the one that is offered here.
This is a no brainier. Homemade ice cream, weekly ice cream sandwiches, local coffee, affordable, & always a show stopper are just a few of the reasons my family loves Sweet Cream. Best in town, no questions asked.
Large scoops and some unique flavors. The mint cookie was great.
Great ice cream!
A little pricey but definitely worth it!
I visit this ice cream shop EVERY time I am in Columbia to visit my USC student. The texture, flavors, creativity and charm of this store is irresistible. I always look forward to seeing a new flavor on their menu but can say any of the ice cream you try will be incredibly good. Their artisan sodas are yummy and unique, too. Located on the main street, it is easy to find. Looking forward to the next time I visit!
Time taking, not great value. Chais are consistently not hot enough. Cups could use lids that seal.
Must try!! Totally impressed with this cute place and their delicious icecream. I love how they have so many seasonal flavors. Love love love. Best icecream in Columbia is served here, no joke!
Good flavors. Clean, simple atmosphere. Good workers, but they ste stand offish to some customers.
The cutest little shop Ive been in for some time. The second I stepped foot in the door I was greeted. There were 4 ppl ahead of me but I was waited on very quickly. Three of the nicest young ladies assisted me with a milkshake and two large coffees to go. They made my order quickly and made sure it was packaged securely so I could easily transport back to the hospital. The milkshake was so amazing. It wasnt simply a milkshake, it was dessert in a cup with a straw. The suggested Tanzanian coffee flavor was more than perfect! The ONLY reason for the four stars instead of five was the price. My order cost $15. I put $2 in the tip jar because they deserved it. So one shake, two coffees = $17 Almost $6 each. In my opinion that was expensive and something I will have to consider a treat because I could not do that often. They were really good though! Staff was awesome!! 💯 Add note-not to any fault if store or staff but parking was a nightmare that also cost $0.50
I had high hopes for Sweet Cream, a locally owned and operated shop with unique flavors. We are a family of eight and have visited Sweet Cream twice. The ice cream is good, but the scoops are small and pricey, as I suppose is to be expected in an artisan restaurant. However, the reason I gave them two stars is poor customer service. The milkshake we ordered was not filled to the top of the cup. There is a sign on the ice cream display Please purchase ice cream if you sample. I believe the point, especially in an establishment that boasts unique flavors, of samples is to decide whether you want to buy. One staff member who was working on both occasions was unpleasant and lacked basic service skills- a smile, a welcome, an effort to assist customers in understanding the product. (The other employee on this visit was helpful, polite, and served multiple samples without complaint.) My 8 year old asked about flavors to which the server replied they were all labeled and on the board and she could read them herself. There was no attempt to sell the product or help the customer. I contacted the owners directly through email, and while Jessica was polite and apologetic, she made excuses (new employees and were not perfect) and blanket statements of using our experience as a teaching opportunity but made no offer, at the very least, of an invitation to return to the shop so that they could have a chance to demonstrate an improvement in service or to make restitution for the lacking milkshake (we spent over $35- a real splurge- on ice cream as a special reading reward for our children). As a resident of Columbia of over 40 years, I long to see local businesses thrive, especially downtown. But Sweet Cream has not been family friendly in our experience. Sadly I cannot offer a wholehearted endorsement for families.
The ice cream was the best and the waffle cone is the best I have ever had!!! If you are in Columbia, GO!
Love this place.... crazy flavors offered but they wont disappoint. The coffee takes a while to get because they brew each cup individually but its absolutely delicious coffee and worth the wait.
What can I say other than its the best in South Carolina! Its not your typical ice cream spot because they do have some eclectic flavors but the care that they take in crafting it shows. Ive had flavors like sweet roasted corn, honey lemon ginger sorbet, orange thyme sorbet, and etc. But the best is the banana pudding. They usually sell out of it in an hour or less. I always take anyone from out of town here so that they can experience it.
Handmade flavors of ice cream, very yummy! Flavors like Earl Grey, oatmeal raisin, lavender mint chip and one I tried and really liked was rose and dark chocolate chip. The rose was so subtle it had such a delicate flavor.
Delicious! The lemon basil cheesecake was amazing, you could taste all the fresh ingredients.
I REALLY wanted to LOVE this place. I waited and watched the website, waiting for a flavor tempting me enough to spend the calories. They have so many interesting and creative flavor combinations and I wanted to support a small, local business. Yesterday was the day...I walked in and ordered a dish of one scoop of Pistachio Dark Cherry. The scoop was very small, less than 1 cup I estimated, priced at $3.95. Wow...what a flavor disappointment. Texture was nice and creamy but...tiny ( almost ground up) bits of pistachio nut and cherries. I could not make out that the dark bits were cherry. No flavor of the nut nor cherry...just a nice textured, vanilla ice cream. Lady on bench outside told me she got a rather small sized, 2 scoop cone at a whopping $7.95 and got toasted coconut scoop and a blueberry sage scoop. She said she could not determine a flavor difference, both tasted like a sweet, creamy vanilla! I hate to leave a bad review, but for this price point... the ice cream was just not that great unless you are wanting a plain vanilla flavor...because it seems that is the prevailing taste. No way I would have guessed the flavor I was eating was Pistachio Dark Cherry... I am bummed. Cute shop with indoor and outdoor seating. Staff was nice!
Best ice cream in town. Unique flavors that are rotated almost every week. High quality local ingredients. The ice cream doesnt taste too sweet but is full of flavor. If you are a foodie you will love Sweet Cream!
Delicious! Had a scoop of maple walnut on a sugar cone. The cone was absolutely fresh and delicious. Cute little place with the aroma of their signature coffee brewing filling the space Yums!
Yall...this is THE BEST coffee shop in South Carolina!! The ice cream is super delicious too!! I feel in love with the friendliness of the young girl(I didnt get her name) who was patient with me as I oogled all the coffee and ice cream flavors!! The whisky barrel blend coffee is so good, I ended up ordering on line because I needed MORE!! Got one scoop of the pretzel ice cream....it was heaven!! Cant wait to go back!
Great little ice cream shop downtown. Theyve got very imaginative flavors alongside more conventional choices, and everything is delicious. They have coffee drinks and shakes, too. Sweet Cream is owned and run by a local couple who clearly take a lot of pride in their product. Go here for a date and take a stroll along Main Street while you eat your ice cream, or bring out-of-town guests and head over to the State House.
Very good over all, occasionally they will go overboard with some wild flavor, but they do allow you to try before you buy a full scoop. Based on that policy I have never had a bad scoop there. The shop is always concocting up new flavors. Very creamy ice cream, I would say that its almost chewy. Easily the best ice cream in town, with no need for fancy gimmicks or additives. Delish.
Tried the honeydew melon sherbet, the Wife tried the salted caramel brownie ice cream. Not only were the staff friendly, but the ice cream was delicious. The cones are made fresh by them - also very tasty
Best ice cream in Columbia
