Truva Cafe is one of the best restaurants in the area for Middle East food. I revisited on 5/7/21. Staff was friendly and answered several question about menu items. I tried the special - stuffed eggplant - and it was great. Food wasn’t overly seasoned and the rice was wonderful. Had fluffy texture and very delicate seasoning. Don’t ever pass up the lentil soup. It’s the best I’ve ever had.
Go here. We were very pleased with everything we ate. The Doner was excellent. I had the Doner over pita with an excellent sauce and a yogurt based dip. My wife had it over eggplant puree. The Borek is a delicious starter and my wife was pleased with the lentil soup. I started my meal with a nice Turkish coffee. If you havent had one, its better than espresso. Save room for dessert. The baklava is large, nutty, and very good. We found this place through Groupon and Im really glad we did.
Had dinner with the family this weekend at Truva Cafe. Food was incredible hummus was to die for, very smooth with great flavor. We all (6) had different main courses and all were thoroughly pleased. Though most of us were more than full a few decided to try desert and ordered baklava. Probably one of the best deserts I have had from a restaurant in some time. This restaurant has great food!
Delightful find in a strip mall! Met a friend for dinner here. Much more upscale than I expected. Excellent food and excellent service. We had the spinach and cheese appetizer and I had the stuffed cabbage leaves with rice pilaf. Both were excellent! Definitely will try again if Im back in Cincinnati
Wow! Wow! Wow! How can I illustrate one of the best if not THE best Mediterranean meals I’ve had this year! (I travel for a living, I eat a lot of Vegan/Vegetarian meals) everything was Perfect. Do not hesitate to order, If I could I would buy your first meal!Exceptional job Truva Cafe 👌🏽👌🏽I.Volquez
Truva Cafe Mediterranean is the best of the best so far in USA!!!Everything is very human touching the environment, the hospitality and the foods are excellent!!!The flavor is truly Turkish flavor, most important salt is just right. You can come to Truva Cafe Mediterranean with your whole family, you will have planty room also do not hassitate to come with your guest!!!
The owners of the restaurant- husband and wife duo are great people. Naturally smiling, truly enjoys being hospitable. The cook was great, definitely knows what he is doing! I really enjoyed my lamb kabobs and salad. We had a speedy service, restaurant is clean, and the tiny after dinner mints are so good. You should open a Truva Cafe in Lawrenceburg IN. You will be very successful.
Another wonderful meal! We started with warm pitas and dipping sauce. Then my husband chose a salad while I had chicken mushroom soup which was light and delicious. Then, I had the whole sea bass and my husband the lamb shank. Food presentation was beautiful and cooked to perfection. We had the pistachio baklava special for dessert, although a generous portion it disappeared quickly.
Walked in fir a quick lunch. Host (owner?) Was very nice and friendly. Ordered the lunch special with the Eggplant and Adana kebab. Loved the pita with tomato coulie that is served at the start. Food was good. Nothing to die for but well seasoned and served fast. Good service and very clean, well organized place. The Baklawa was better then I expected. Was hoping to try their Knafe and was somewhat disappointed when I got my dessert, but it tasted so good and was lighter then most Baklawa you find in the US. Next time I will order a La Cart and see if Im more blown away.
Great place for mediterranean food very authentic food. My compliments to the chef. I havent had well cooked mediterranean food since my father passed away.
Ive stayed in Blue Ash on a couple of work trips, and both times I visited Truva Cafe for dinner. Nothing but good things to say about the food and service. Im half Greek and Italian so I obviously love Mediterranean food...Turkish cuisine is very similar to Greek and the Chicken Kebab dinner gets two thumbs up!
This Mediterranean food is by far the BEST in Cincinnati. Found this restaurant through a friend and it’s amazing every time. The food is so fresh and I have yet to taste something I didn’t like. A hidden gem!
This restaurant is one of my favorite. I went there around 10 times. Everything is cook in the moment and fresh. They offer you pita bread with no charge. (If you go to an Indian restaurant they will charge you $2 for each nan...)
The chicken and hummus were delicious, but the falafel and tabouli had a strange after taste. Tabouli is also predominantly bulgar wheat instead of parsley. Other Lebanese restaurants we have frequented usually have tabouli that is mostly parsley. Portion size for the tabouli was very small as well. Servers were very friendly. I do think it is a bit more on the expensive side for what you get.
Full 5 stars the baba ganouish is to die for, lamb chops were great.
Wonderful food! They made sure we were seated more than 10 ft apart from the closest other table. The service was friendly and quick. As always the food was fabulous. One of the few places to get good doner in Cincinnati.
Sorry but I would not eat from this restaurant again. Small meals for a heavy price. I got a to go order and the waitress didnt even pack utensils. I guess I was supposed to eat with my hands. When I looked into the bag on my way to the car the dessert had leaked all over the bag and onto everything. So then my table was messy. First experience, last experience. Never again.
One of my preferred locations for Mediterranean food. You will not be disappointed in the menu and service. The service here is friendly. The bill was good for how much you get.
Mediterranean food and the atmosphere at this place is super good. One of the best spots in the area. I will probably become a regular. It has a cool feel to it.
Fine scene for tasty Mediterranean food. The prices are good for what you get. Feeling here is similar to a place in Columbus I liked.
Loved it always get your moneys worth. Going back soon!
Mediterranean food, yeah, very tasty. Very filling. Prices are reasonable I would say. Food and atmosphere reminds me of Atlanta.
We went with the mixed grill, at least a taste of everything they have on the menu and Couscous & Vegetables, Sautéed mixed vegetables with couscous. The food delicious, authentic, freshly cooked, staff quick to serve with an attitude but I guess its just a cultural issue. Price a bit on the high side.
Delicious food! Highly recommend. Unfortunately I waited too long to write this and I cant really remember my exact order, but I believe it was the shish kabobs.
Prices outrageous and not truly authentic. Tabouli is a hard pass. Hummus is like watered down. Grape leaves may be homemade but they taste like from a can.
I take my family to this great restaurant a lot! This is my favorite restaurant to pass a nice evening. I go to this spot many times. The meals are of high quality, the crew is courteous and the prices are affordable. I like going in this spot to have a nice lunch.
Weve never had a bad meal eating here. We love the soup: red lentil or chicken always taste great. The lamb dishes feature marinated meat and a delightfully clean flavor. The falafel and gyro make for a nice sandwich. Try any dish with the creamy house made hummus. The lunch and dinner specials will leave you full, especially when you try the soft warm bread with sun dried tomato oil. Leave room for the baklava, which comes in several versions, all of which will leave you happy.
Main course delicious. Calamari was bland and chewy. Above average food quality. Excellent service, clean and warm atmosphere. Enjoyed it.
One of my favorite spots for delicious mediterranean food. came here on a saturday. the staff was very helpful and observant. the place has an awesome feel to it. if it was closer to my home i would be here often.
How to clear the service is a little slow but the food is very good. I like their kabobs but they have a lot vegetarian options also
Food is great. The service leaves something to be desired. Rude waiters will unfortunately be the reason we do not return.
Awesome environment and very amiable service. The food was crisp and enchanting. Will surely recommend this restaurant to friends and family. Reasonable prices and generous meals. Great work.
I wanted a light yet savory lunch and Truva delivered with their hummus lunch and spinach pie. It was so good and felt like a “cheat” dish but didn’t make me want a nap or tip the scales. Ordered for pickup and food was ready on time and had prompt friendly service. The interior was really nice to if you want to eat in.
Pricey for quantity and marinated chicken kabob was rubbery from too much marinated time. Lamb was tough too. The rice however was delicious. Salad and hummus nothing extraordinary. The olive oil used on hummus wonderful and yet the little Greek Salad not so good. Only fair.
We came to this place for a meeting. we heard about this place from a lot of people. Well, it was a winning. The staff members were extremely nice and we felt excellent. The meal was yummy. We loved this place very much and we will visit this place again. Recommended.
Good location for quality mediterranean food. dropped in on mon i think.
My wife and I just got back from dinner and enjoyed it very much. We had the mixed grill dish for two and brought enough home for another meal each! Food was delicious,, service was with a smile and satisfactory. We then split the baklava and it was as good as any I have ever had. I definitely recommend this place and will be returning
Happened upon this place and wow my new favorite. Generous portions. Real Mediterranean food. Baklava was amazing. Dinner was perfect. Even the vegetables on the side were terrific. Turkish influenced. Highly recommended.
An awesome Mediterranean cafe. The best I have had in so many days. They start with the best flat bread and herb flavored olive oil. The soup was just amazing. And we had lots of options for vegetarians. Ambience here is awesome. They even arrange party I guess, there was a group who were having a small party there when we visited. Overall had a very good experience.
Great food. Family owed with family recepies. Dont let the location deter you. It may be in a strip mall but the ambiance once you walk in is very welcoming. Service is great and the food is some of the best Mediterranean food I have had. If you like this ethnic type do not pass this place up.
Truva is a hidden gem. I had passed by it many times and decided one night to stop in. Ive now been there many times and each time the service and food are fantastic. They have a good special for 3 items and dessert is usually great as well!
This spot clearly knows how to satisfy their customers. Consistently with a welcoming demeanor. The food is fairly priced, constantly yummy and clean.
I recommend you to have lunch or dinner here. Yummy turkish foods
Delish! I tried the combo for 2 and tested all the meats! All were awesome! Very clean and we had a great server. I should have got her name so I can mention her. She was sweet. They checked in us. We never had to ask for a refill, even water, they were very attentive. I cant wait to go again.
The place offers a fantastic variety of delicious food. I enjoy dining here. Employees are always very kind, prices are affordable and the spot is always clean.
Best Mediterranean food in Cincinnati it is not close. The food travels well.
Average mediterranean food at best. Our waiter was great though
The meals and service were ahead of my expectations. We truly liked the atmosphere of this spot. Amazing restaurant to take my family out for lunch.
Everything was delicious. We had the mix grill for two and it was plenty of food for us. Kanafe was fresh and delicious. If your in the blue ash area I highly recommend it.
I visited this place for for the first time because I happen to be a huge fan of Mediterranean food and have had the pleasure of having quite a few Turkish friends that Are the cause of that love for it. I arrived at at 846p and advised the gentleman that was apparently the host of the evening, that there would be 2 of us. His response was, “We’re about to close.”I’m fully aware that closing time is 930 and I assumed that I’d arrived early enough for a chicken kabob but apparently not. I walked out to let my son know that we would not be able to dine there ( he met me there), we walked back towards the door, and a closed sign was on the door, even though it’s clearly posted that closing time is 930. I’m not sure why this was the way things were handled and I won’t bother to speculate. I’ll just say, I’m happy to go elsewhere.
Love this place. Have been to Istanbul and really enjoy Turkish cooking. Truva is authentic Turkey, delicate flavors, generous portions and warm friendly staff. Had the Orkra Lamb Stew...yum👍 And the highlight was meeting the owner and chef Murat and his wife Julie. Turkish hospitality at its best.
I absolutely enjoy the dishes and service, good location very close to my house. The workers are always welcoming. Will come back again.
Excellent service, great tasting food!
Great taste!Professional customer service!!Pricing on the higher side for serving sizes.
We shared the Mixed Grill for 2 people. It was wonderful! Their bread is so good, texture wise; and the dip was flavorful. Very nice dining experience!!
Food was delicious! Loved the salmon grape leaves and the service was great. Definitely will be back.
Their hummus is a must try! Definitely the best mediterranean restaurant in the area. Great service, friendly staff.
No concern about reading further.I predict they will be out of business soon.First let it be known (check my last name) that I love Mediterranean Cuisine.Gave me 3 silver dollar size falafels. Hard as hockey pucks. I took them back.3 Cabbage roll entrees were mediocre at best. Flavor sub par and maybe 1/2 of meat in all three. No sides except a little NaN type bread and paid 25 dollars.Boo.
Delicious all around. Three of us went, we each had the 3 course dinner, appetizer, main, dessert. Wide choice of appetizers and mains, baklava for dessert tonight. $24 pre tax and tip. Excellent quality, friendly service. There is a wider a la carte menu. Way better than other Mediterranean restaurants in town.
This place was AMAZING! Seriously, their food is so fresh and very authentic! The staff was very attentive and so gracious! Best Turkish food in Cincinnati! We will be coming back with friends (everyone should come and try this food)! Just lovely, great experience!
The service, pita, hummus, and baklava are out of this world.I drive here just for hummus. Smooth, rich, creamy... Perfect on carrots and bread! My boyfriend and friends love the entrees here, but Im happy with just hummus!!
I really wanted to leave no stars actually, but wouldnt allow me. I agree with everyone one else on here about the food being terrible. Went there for dine in to get gyros, it was the worst gyros Ive have ever tasted in my life, the grocery store gyros tasted better then what they were serving. It had the consistency of lunch meat, thin sliced, bland and did not taste like lamb. The waitress or wife of the owner kept giving dirty looks like we were taking to long eating or to pay. The Food is definitely not worth the price. Nor Rude service.
Wonderfully tasting and truly authentic Mediterranean food. Recently brought a business associate here and was pleasantly surprised. I got the shish kebab with yogurt and I would definitely recommend it. Also the owners and staff are extremely accommodating and kind. One of the best spots in Cincinnati for sure.
Ive stopped in for lunch a couple times while traveling for business recently. Excellent Turkish food. I lived in Turkey for a couple years; this is very authentic Turkish food. Fresh ingredients, prepared well, with excellent service by friendly staff. Modest but authentic Turkish decor and background music. Ill be back! If you like Mediterranean food, especially Turkish, this is the real deal.
Was searching for a new place for gyros in my area. This place came up so I went there. I ordered 2 gyros and they were AWEFUL! First off, for the price it was not worth it! Soooo DISAPPOINTED! THE MEAT WAS OLD AND BITS OF PCS. THE PITA BREAD FELL APART. WAS TOTALLY UNSATISFYING! WILL NEVER GO BACK. FIRST AND LAST TIME.
The food was good and the warm pita bread was amazing! Servers were very friendly. There is a little wait but that is more custom so to be expected. The staff however was great, very polite and welcoming!! We enjoyed our experience !
I stopped in for a carry out. Ive never been there before, I wanted a Gyro so bad. When I took it home to enjoy, to my surprise it wasnt good. The meat didnt look like any Gyro Ive ever had. The taste didnt taste that way either. I dont know what kind of meat it was, it tasted old. I stopped eating it because I was beginning to feel a little queasy, I was so hungry but I couldnt eat it any longer. Im praying I dont get ill. That was my first and last time going there. The layout of the restaurant is beautiful but the food they served me was not.😞 I am now eating peanut butter jelly and crackers because Im hungry. Ive read the great reviews given this restaurant and I truly hate to think I was not given the best they had or received best welcome for whatever reason, cause the food I received does not match the reviews.
Great Turkish/ Mediterranean food. We had the mixed grill and multiple other dishes. We liked the stuffed cabbage and kebabs.
So yummy 🤤😝
Went there with a singles meet-up group. The majority of people ordered the ribs and raved over the food. I didnt get that dish but wish I had. The food was good but Id like to go back and try something different. The staff was friendly and efficient. Tere is no alcohol on the menu, but you can bring your own bottle of wine. That made it fun.
Was okay to try but wasnt anything spectacular. Main entrees was fairly good, pita bread served before the meal was great. Service was not good. Took a long time to order drinks/food and even longer to get our check to leave. Its worth trying if youre in the area tho.
This is a great restaurant even if it is in a strip area Kroger, Kohls, etc. The food is always excellent. Great staff, and great food at pretty reasonable price. You get a lot of food for what you pay for. I highly recommend the couscous and vegetables.
Amazing dining experience! The owner, who was one of the servers on the floor, was very personable and the service was fantastic. I will definitely be back to experience the other great entrees. The Baclava was some of the best Ive ever eaten - a must have if you stop out!
Great food. Presented beautifulLunch is much better priced than dinner$2.50 for a soda
Nice neighborhood restaurant. We were warmly welcomed by the owner. Service was good. The good was excellent. Well be back!
I had the opportunity to share a meal with some friends here during the 2018 summer. We were treated better than family. The food was amazing. If you are in the area and Mediterranean food, you must stop here.
Delicious Mediterranean with plenty of vegetarian and vegan options!Bring your own booze, though.
On May 12, 2017 went to lunch. Amazing! The food was delicious and fresh! The service is excellent! The place is very clean and classy! Thank you! Will definitely come again and again!!!!
Great food and Fantastic Service! I had the soup of the day, Chicken and Mushroom, and the classic Doner (gyro). It was all very tasty. I give it four stars because of the price. I feel I should be able to get away with a lunch like that for about $8-$9 (with tip). The soup and sandwich and a $2 tip came almost to $14.
Stopped by for some take-out on a Sunday afternoon. The service was fast and super friendly. In casual conversation we mentioned that we were going to a park afterword and the server went the extra mile by packing us some extras (plates, cups, etc.). From experiences other places, that isnt the norm without explicitly requesting it. Not only was the service fast and super friendly, but the food was good. I had the gyro sandwich and my wife had the falafel sandwich. Both were good. We would definitely recommend and will be going back for dine-in sometime as the atmosphere inside is a mix of upscale and relaxed.
I wouldnt consider ourselves as food connoisseurs, because we dont eat out often. I rarely write reviews but this place certainly made an impression on me. I felt like this was a truely authentic Turkish experience. I expected to eat some basic Mediterranean food, but after going here our server not only served us, he showed us how to consume certain items and taught us about the history and tradition behind the food. Then he paid for our Turkish coffee! We were happy to be the only customers in the restaurant at that time and very grateful to our server. A truely memorable evening. Looking forward to eating there again!
Here are the most intimate and thoughtful service, the best food, the best quality! Five-star recommended lamb shank
