Easily one of the best coffeehouse and tap house in the city. Fantastic coffee service and killer cocktail program. The happy hour is unbeatable value, particularly the wine. For the money, their wine list rivals bars and restaurants throughout Cincinnati.Bean and Barley proves time and again that their cocktail program and commitment to customer service is the cornerstone of their identity. I cannot go anywhere else.
Matt is such an amazing bartender. He makes the best drinks ever
I typically visit this coffee house earlier in the day and have never had an issue. In fact, Ive spent many days at this coffee shop working. I arrived with a friend visiting from out of town for a business meeting. There were 2 other guest sitting inside. My friend and I went outside to chat, the manager a African American male told us that if were werent purchasing anything soon we would need to leave. We planned on buying coffee but got busy. The manager came off very rude and seemed to be in a really bad mood. My friend quickly purchased a few items + coffee but the tone of the manager frightened my friend. It was quiet embarrassing. I recommend spending your money at places such as CREAM AND SUGAR, BLACK COFFEE LOUNGE OR ESOTERIC- great customer service skills, VERY welcoming and will not badger you if youve been sitting for 5 mins!
While the barista was busy cleaning up everything for the night he made sure we got what we needed and could be in and out. Quiche was tasty and drinks were good.
Cloudy kind of day with a gentle drizzle and we decided to take a walk to Bean and Barley, coffee and tap room on Obrineville. Beautiful homes on Obrineville and we commented and admired the homes. Was very surprised how lovely and spacious the interior was. Lots of tables inside and the patio and in the basement. Been open for 5 months. Nice art inside and very tastefully done. I ordered a Mocha and Joel a regular coffee. Owen who works there and 4 other jobs, and a musician was so lovely to chat with him.I would recommend this place very highly. Come on over and support young entrepreneurs. 🙏🏽🙏🏽
This coffee shop has great ambiance and drinks. Keep in mind the area requires paid street parking.
Cool and relaxing atmosphere. The barista that helped me was courteous and efficient. However, I did notice that he have the women in front of me a little more attention than myself, but I suppose thats human nature. He answered my questions and outbidded me with a good cappuccino. I would user something with a little more coffee next time. I would return to have my wife try one of their specialty drinks. They offer non-dairy alternatives for specialty drinks and their menu is small, but inclusive. You will definitely be able to find something that suites you.
Amazing selection, friendly service. Definitely worth your time!
I had a latte which I enjoyed very much. Cool vibe inside with gorgeous bar top. Outdoor seating also available.
Cute idea with coffee on one side, beer in the other. Too many fruity beers for me.
Easily my favorite place in this area. Great beer, dog friendly, great outdoor space. Love it!
Great vibe. Its where Im hanging out when Im in Cincinnati.
Bean and Barley is an amazing bar-coffee shop with outside seating, large openable windows, and good deals on drinks.
I just moved down the street form this coffee shop / bar and it is quickly becoming my favorite place to work or hangout and have a beer. There are plenty of outlets located near seating so no need to fight for the power. The outdoor patio and multi-floor layout give you plenty of options for seating. Lots of great coffee drinks (Including spiked coffee drinks... not on the menu but if you ask they will make you one) and a rotating tap with great local beers. Last but not the least, the staff is really friendly and helpful! If you are in the area and want to grab a coffee or looking for a place to grab a beer with friends B & B is your one stop shop.
Delicious coffee from a small variety of roasters with a spacious seating arrangement and bar. I appreciate the large tables that allow small groups to collaborate over that cup of coffee or allow one to spread out a little bit with papers and such. The quiche from O Pie O was also a nice touch to go along with that cup of coffee. I could see myself trying different roasters for their pour overs and espressos and spending some quality time here.
Great service pleasant atmosphere; well managed.
The first time I went here I fell in love and was ecstatic that I could walk across the street and support a local business. The coffee turned out to be so inconsistent that after 15 or so disappointments and unfriendly staff, I began looking for coffee elsewhere. I opt to drive to Cream and Sugar because I know my coffee will always be the same and the employees are delightful.
No menu. Food soup salad light fair,?
This is a great place for late afternoon working / meetings. They have both coffee and beer. Indoor and outdoor seating areas as well. Perfect for the late afternoon meeting that can turn into a happy hour. Great location--across the street from OBryons and down the street from Green Dog. So you can get a buzz, then fill up on solid eats therafter.
Nice spot good drinks and good food
Great coffee and friendly people.
Great environment and friendly staff. My favorite bar in the area. Great place to hang or get some work done away from home.
Always a treat to visit here. Incredibly hospitable with excellent coffee and atmosphere.
Pretty cool little place. Very relaxed, decent choice of beers to pick from, and decent variety of coffee / pastries. Small place but had a good amount of seating inside and on the back patio deck. The workers are friendly, talkative, and down to earth people. The back deck it nice, but might need a few extra umbrellas for shade during the summer (only had one when I was there). I did notice they had a good amount of heating towers out on the deck which is good for the colder months/nights. Good place to bring your computer to get some work done as I noticed several people had theirs out. Went around 2-3pm so hard to say how packed they get but there was plenty of room/seats while I was there. They have a downstairs section as well that I didnt get to try but will the next time Im there. All in all very enjoyable place. Definitely will be back!
I normally go to Redtree, but decided to try something new and support another local shop. The coffee was good, but the customer service was not on par. There was only one other person in there and I was not even acknowledged for the first 6 or 7 minutes before the barista finally asked me for my order. He did not apologize for the wait or say anything else to me, just made the coffee and didn’t acknowledge when I left either. The taste of the coffee wasn’t worth the wait, I’ll stick with Redtree.
What an excellent place very comfortable and cozy great social environment for a couple or small group. Great craft selection coffee selection and Kombucha. Will definitely be usual spot for friends and myself.
Things that I like: coffee and beer. A place where I can get both (simultaneously, if I so chose even): Bean & Barley. Nice pastry selection too! This is a pretty new place in Obryonsville, and I somehow seem to find myself there 2-7 times per week. Nice, comfortable space, with a downstairs and patio out back-- it can get a little loud when its crowded, so beware. Dogs are cool too, but its a tight space, so maybe dont bring your 250 lb excitable and loud bear-dog. There are about 20 regional / local beers on tap ($6 / pint) and a handful of wine and ciders from which to choose. Standard coffee fare-- their espresso is super on point (according to my mouth, anyway). The folks who run the place are coffee and beer snobs, but in the best possible way--they explain what they have on tap / on brew in human language that is informative and helps you make choice for your tastes. Far from condescending, which can sometimes happen at some places. Theyre also talkative, friendly, and also dont seem to mind if you hang out there for a few hours and only buy a single coffee. Maybe dont be a mooch though and support a new, local business.
Great expressoLarge beer choiceWith nice atmosphere and professional staff
Great place for coffee or anything else 🙂
Great new coffee shop & taproom. The staff is very friendly and my coffee was delicious. I met up with a friend to work and catch up and we couldnt have picked a better spot. Super chill and inviting.
Awesome space, awesome people, and despite what google says, they do have dine in available (July 1 2020).
One of my favorite new coffee shops in Cincinnati. A lot of opportunities to get some fresh air with large open windows during the summer and a patio in the back. There are also quieter study areas on the lower floor. Plus its dog-friendly!
Tried this place because I drive by it nearly everyday and was very pleasantly surprised. The interior space is cozy but modern, one side of the counter area is coffee and the other is a bar, also has a nice little rear patio. It would be a great place to work or study. Coffee was quite good..I got a special latte and it was sweet but not cloyingly so, could still taste the coffee. The two guys (barista/bartenders?) were both super nice and friendly, very chill but talkative if you wanted to be. Overall good vibe, I will certainly go back!
Great selection of local beer; about one each. Great outdoor seating. Strange, but good, simultaneous mix of taproom and coffee house vibe.
Really good selection of local beer and coffee. The outdoor space is great and looks like its only going to get better. And the owners were very nice and friendly. I highly recommend.
They have a surprising list of draft craft beers and if you cant find something interesting and good to drink here, your not a craft beer drinker.
Incredibly rude employee, Sheila, yelled at my friend for no reason. Management has not responded to emails reaching out. They have also deleted negative feedback from social media accounts and blocked me and my friends for posting negative feedback.
The Caramel Capp was a great balance of sweet and bitter, the space is interesting and varied and I am excited to use the patio in warmer months
Great nitro brew and other coffees. Had the quiche this morning and it was delicious. I highly recommend stopping in for a small bite and coffee any morning you can.
Nice spot for a cup of coffee and pretty good lattes. Nice beer selection on tap and friendly staff to guide you through the beers. No food
Loved it! Indoor seating and a great drink selection!
Awesome spot with great beer and coffee. Quiet and quaint with all the offerings you need!
Awesome espresso. Great place to work or meet someone for coffee!
Really great coffee, atmosphere, and customer service. Highly recommend!
Really enjoyed going here for a good Nitro cold brew. This is what this part of town has been missing. Friendly staff, great coffee, good snacks and a good selection of beer.
This is a great coffee or pint stop. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Also dog friendly!
Great Dirty Chai. Friendly service. Good environment.
Just a very comfortable place with friendly people and a good beer menu!
Bean and barley has been our go to coffee shop since it has opened up in OBryonville!- Great study spot- Parking available- Pet friendly- Great quiches (must try)- Love the KombuchaThey also have a space at the lower level with games if needed. Little quieter and possibly rentable for private events.Great addition to my hood!
Amazing coffee, great beer selection with 18 rotating taps, and the best staff around. Very cozy atmosphere for a great place to study or chill and have a beer.
Great reading spot, variety of seating. Looks like they are working on a nice back patio.
Great place with a relaxed vibe to go study for a few hours, and to maybe get a beer after.
Cozy and intimate, great quality, perfect for individual work or a small group to meet.
Very quaint, inviting coffee shop. Excellent coffee. Highly recommend.
Great coffee! This place has it all, coffee, beer, dogs, patio, great location, food (snack items). They have a beautiful bar that you can sit at and see their selection of beers at the tap. While I was there I saw two dogs in the shop, which was wonderful! The latte I had was delicious, I highly recommend! Head out back for their beautiful patio, where you can enjoy your drink with a view. The main seating area is cozy and has a cool, modern design. There are huge windows overlooking Madison avenue. Located in the heart of OBryonville, you are steps away from plenty of other shops, restaurants, and more. free Wi-Fi is available. You can head downstairs to the basement but I did not get a chance to go down there. Check this place out, well worth the stop.
Very cute place for a great conversation or study session.
A new coffee shop and tap room in Obryanville. Very inviting staff and great coffee. Dog friendly!
Awesome coffee shop/bar. Great place to watch an FCC game.
Such a cute spot!
Good selection, fast service, very friendly, and lots of cute dogs.
WOW is an understatement. Hands down its the best latte Ive ever had in Cincinnati stop them for the first time yesterday and couldnt wait to get up this morning and get back there again!!!
Wonderful place to chill and enjoy the company of your friends! Cheers!
Great beer, wonderful neighborhood gathering spot
Great coffee drinks
I had the best decaf Americano Ive ever had in my life here this morning. Very delicious! Not a bad price either. Give it a visit. If you can tolerate the yuppy hipster millennials acting like their beards, their jogging and their jogging outfits are saving the world while chatting up the barista about marathons, then give this place a visit. Also, look out for the snooty OBryonvill-ians who act as if living close to Hyde park automatically allows them to be snooty. Ugh.
Really good place for coffee and pastries!
Fun, refreshing atmosphere and staff.
Awesome place & love that its pet friendly.
Cute place....and atmosphere
Staff is Amazing!
Very good!
