After receiving an online offer and setting an appointment time, I took my car to the dealership. The entire process was very efficient. The process took the projected 90 minutes. The transaction was handled very professionally. Everyone that I encountered treated me with courtesy, kindness, and professionalism. I highly recommend CarMax if you are selling a vehicle.

My experience was not bad at all, i am actually impressed by how the process works so fast and smooth. The only thing i think the website or instructions should list, is how important it is that the lender is open when you show up to sell your vehicle. I know now it is common sense but i showed up after my lender was closed and drove an hour and a half one way for nothing. I had to come back when they were open, which caused my appraisal to expire and it also went down $800. So we made a $800 mistake, but i feel like if the instructions online had mentioned we need to come during the lenders hours - i would have realized that and wouldnt have made that mistake. Other than that, its amazing how quick the process is. I would also like to shout out Valerie at the Cincinnati 45240 location, she helped me so much!! After another employee told me she put my information in the system so they could call me lender then next day, I found out she did not do her job. So Valerie was there to pick up her mess and help me get things straightened out. She was also so sweet, knowledgeable in her job position, and professional. Shes a great representative for Carmax.

I plugged the information of my vehicle online to acquire a price to sell my vehicle. I got a price instantly. I saw the price had * so I expected to be talked down on the price, but I was completely wrong. I got the exact price as quoted online. When I stated this to the associate, she said that it is usually accurate when customers are honest about the mileage, condition, and so on. They gave my a check and I left. Perfect and easy experience, no complaints! Also very clean inside and the associates were kind.

I went there to sell it to them but expected them to jack me around an give me a low ball offer because of bogus problems with my car. I was really surprised that they agreed on the online offer. wow.... so.YES I sold it to them. I guess I reco them from this transaction.why 4 out of 5 stars? I made an appointment, and it still took 1hr and 45min to do this. absolutely no surprises..why so long??YES Id go there again.

Your best bet for going to this location is to look up what vehicles you want to see online and come in with a list. They have so many cars and half of them are not for sale, but yet they are all over the lot. Needs a little bit better organization of the vehicles.

The whole process was very seamless. Arrived on time for pre-scheduled appointment and CarMax was ready for me. The entire process took approximately 1 hour. I was convinced the initial offer presented online was just a ploy to get me to bring my car in and that the actual offer was going to be considerably lower. To my surprise, I walked out with a check for the same amount that was quoted online. In my opinion, this is the best way to sell your vehicle without all of the hassle of trying to sell it yourself. In and out it was a little long, probably 1.5 to 2 hours but everyone was super friendly and Ash Ryan was absolutely amazing, she was so friendly and helped out so much. I highly recommend asking for her when you go in if you’re selling a car.

I got an online offer for my car, but when I went in to Carmax today, they couldnt find the offer. They told me it was because I did the old way for the online offer where I had to upload pictures of the car. Thank goodness the assessor was able to find the offer for the car. I was happy with the price that I got for the car, but I do wish that the process had been speedier. I think we were there for about 75 minutes. They had some issues with the paperwork, too.

Just wanted to say I am very disappointed in my experience. Bought my suv 2 weeks ago, spent $30,000…. The next day I am trying to learn my new ride and come to see my “fuel life” is only 40%, meaning the car didn’t even get an oil change before the sale. Also, my local mechanic showed me that my tire treads are to the point of needing new tires. After spending so much on a car, disappointed to need an oil change and new tires within the first month.

By the way, if you were in an accident, and are driving a rental car, if its from Enterprise you can drop it off there when you get your car.

He was honest and straight forward, he took his time with me and in the end he was right there when I was driving off the lot waving goodbye. The entire staff there was so very knowledgeable and kind, from the time I was greeted at the front door till I walked to the car bay cleaned out my old car, I was treated with respect and professionalism. If I had to do it all over again, I would head right back to CarMax and do it all over. Thank You CarMax, I miss my old Nelly but I am loving my new St, Nick.

I had vey bad experience there. I got an appointment online to go there trying to sell my car to them. A stupid person at the business office was asking me some questions but for some reasons not trying to listen to my answers. I talked to the manager about the issue. Then I went to waiting area waiting for the appraisal process to be completed and get an offer. They offered me $100 for my 2012 Chrysler Town & Country that has no significant issue. I understood that they were not happy with me complaining about that stupid behavior of their employee.

I recently decided to start my own business and one way of keeping my overhead low was to get rid of my car note.I did an appraisal with Carvana and their offer was great but I had negative equity meaning ; I would have to come out of pocket in order to get out of my car loan.I then had an appraisal done with Jake Sweeney On Harrison Ave and they low balled me even further. Do not purchase the extended warranty, it is a waste of money. Air conditioner went out in our car. We called Carmax service department and was told that they were not taking any of their extended warranties (why offer if you are not going to honor your product) at this time so we had to go somewhere else. Meaning we would have to pay more for the deductible 200 instead of 150. Took the car in, got the approval and the shop was told it would take 8 days for payment. So options are wait 8 days or pay for it up front and they will reimburse us. Really??? So we paid to have it fixed, they sent the check to the shop instead of us, 3 weeks later still no reimbursement. Called to find out what was going on and how much we were getting back. Our reimbursement is 350 less than what we paid to have it fix. So why are we paying so much money? What a joke. Save your self the trouble and money pass on the extended warranty.

This place is a joke i am trying to get a 10 day payoff so i can refinance thru my credit union and carmax will not give the payoff to me or credit union they are charging me 10.5 intereste rate this place is RIPOFF reporting it to BBB .

Worst car buying experience with the most uneducated staff I’ve met. Went to buy a $36,000 car. Using my amg as a trade in with a value of $26,000. (I still owe $11k) so I was going to use the $15,000 as a down payment. This salesman answered a call from his gf 3 times mid sale leaving me there for a total of 2 hours and when it came down to the numbers he quoted me (with a 740 credit score) $571/month with 10% apr (which he said was a good deal) then I told him show me the numbers and dude tried to say I was getting a $30,000 loan on a $36,000 car when I put down 15k because of “taxes and fees” which should only be 3k for Ohio. Then dude refused to admit he put the numbers in incorrect

I called Carmax after trying at different online car dealerships. The other dealerships were either out of my price range, or would not sell to me because of my poor credit. However, CarMax had several different lending institutions to borrow from and they found one that was within my price range. They were helpful and courteous the entire time. By far the easiest car buying process I’ve ever experienced! Did the pre approval online, got approved! Went in filled out paperwork and was out in 2 hours! My Sales representative was amazing and patient kept in contact with me throughout process!

I just want to know if they have my wallet.Edit: I am now waiting patiently on hold with another employee. I explained my case to her and immediately put me on hold. I think they’re messing with me to be honest. I just want to know if they have my wallet so I know whether to cancel my cards or not.

I had a complicated experience that involved me buying the car twice so that I could have the proper numbers for my bank to take over the loan. Everyone at CarMax was very helpful. The only problem I ran into was the scans and prints of the paperwork at the end were too low quality and had to be scanned again.

It was outstanding! Drove our car in on a Monday, offer was made within an hour of our arrival. That Friday, after unloading our personal items from the car, we drove it back, provided the necessary documents, signed the title transfer, and within 30 minutes was handed a check which we immediately transferred to our bank! Great experience. Very friendly, helpful staff. I was assisting my elderly father with selling his car; he will not be driving any longer. We had gotten an online valuation which Dad found acceptable, and then went out to CarMax (no appointment). Very quick process, and the appraisal came back the same as the online valuation. A few signatures later, Dad had a bank draft in hand and we were out the door. My parents would not have been comfortable with, or physically capable of dealing with a potentially endless parade of people coming to their house to view and drive their car, and haggling over it, so this was a great low-impact option that went very well.

Actually a great car buying experience the problem is the service department will do whatever is possible to NOT fix any pre existing issues with their cars such as brakes and brake lights (which by the way is a definite safety issue) when you call to get help they give you a run around and try to make it seem like the buyer is the one responsible for pre existing issues I bought my sonata in November of 2020 and since then I have replaced 9 sets of rear lightbulbs. The complete dash system goes completely blank when the car is put in the reverse gear. I was told the brakes were brand new when I bought the car if that’s the case then why are the brakes already warped when I have put less than 12k miles on it since I bought it. The only problem that I have with the sales department is them not telling me or showing me that the car had been in 2 separate accidents before you they bought the car. I have tried on numerous occasions to get the problem corrected and the best they can tell me is that these things are not safety issues.

Absolutely horrible experience. I reserved a car and when I showed up I waited over 30 minutes to see the car. Okay I get past that . Now Im ready to purchase the car and they tell me someone else reserved the car an hour earlier, mind you while the car is reserved for me and Im there in possession of the car. They tell me I cant purchase it because someone else wants to test drive it. I was blown away. So they offer me a free transfer if I see something I like that is out of state on their website. Absolutely horrible customer service. Wasted a whole day for nothing. Still dont understand how I am there ready to purchase and be told no, someone else wants to test drive. Dont waste your time with this company and always check them reports. Most cars have bad titles and are all rental cars

Went in to sell my 2016 Honda Pilot, and was told the process would be for someone to come out, look over the car, and then Id get an appraisal in 15-30 minutes. After an hour I asked about the status and was told their appraisal system had a computer glitch. Hey, weve all experienced that; I understand. They were friendly and polite; offered to email or text me the appraisal so I wouldnt have to wait. By then it was close to closing time so it wasnt until the next day I heard anything - and that was to tell me the system in their location was still down. I waited a few more hours, still no appraisal. The NEXT day I reached out AGAIN, but after a couple of tries on my part went unanswered, I give up. Been 48 hours since I first went in and still nothing. I instead went on-line to Carvanna and had a bid in under 10 minutes. First time Ive tried using either approach to selling a car, guess which one I think more highly of.

I came to look at a transfer and it was HORRIBLE. The car was dirty and reeked of cigarettes. Had I known, I would have not proceeded with the transfer.Tim tried to fix the situation but it was beyond fixing. I looked around the lot and found the car that I bought.
