This whole place is a disappointment. The woman taking orders was rude. She got the orders wrong even after having to repeat them a couple times. Restaurant apparently has no AC. I ordered the Mexipino hash and instead got a plate of chips with egg on top. The pork trio scramble was minuscule. Also worth mentioning we got all our food in Togo containers while all reviews show food coming in skillets and plates.
First off I want to say how good this particular restaurant customer service is, it was outstanding. They didn’t come to your table all the time and when you needed them they would ask to see what’s up. This restaurant has a clean environment, the tables were clean, no dirty stuff under the table, the bathroom is well kept and the floor is decently clean. The atmosphere of this place is family oriented and would be perfect for this type of people. Lastly the food is awesome, the portions are worth it and the taste is pretty traditional. I see some folks saying that food is either bland or to salty... fortunately with my visit I did not encounter any such taste. Would I recommend Mexipino? Absolutely give it a try if your in the are! I hope you have the same experience I got.
This place is absolute garbage. The Host was incredibly rude for no reason? And gave us not what we ordered but charged for the more expensive thing we did order.
This place got a new look and a change in menu they added breakfast and now has a twist between Filipino and Mexican cuisine “mexipino” . The food looks and taste amazing the seating area is spacious and their staff is kind and informative very helpful, I like the changes compared to what it was before it was okay it just got better
Mexipino 2 for 1 deliciousness!!! Friends kept telling me about this spot, and I finally made it out on a Sunday morning😁. The menu is interesting and so many options to try! Let me just say you have to go hungry the portions are very well served. I tried the ube pancake that’s definitely must try. Main dish was the Benson it is pan de sal, longanisa, poached eggs, drizzled with some delicious green poblano sauce🤤 and a side of potatoes. Parking is no issue plenty of parking to choose from, and the service was perfect! Most definitely going back again🙌🏽
As you can figure out, the restaurant is Mexican-Asian fusion. Everything from Tocino to Bangus (pronounced bangoose with a soft g) to Chilaquiles. They have traditional Mexican, Filipino, and American style dishes available on the menu. I was impressed with the food and service. Me and the friend had the Mexipino Hash and Chilaquiles, paired with coffee and a refreshing calamansi drink. Very tasty and generous portions. We will be back to try the rest of the breakfast and lunch menu. I would recommend this place!
Amazing hearty food with a traditional fusion mix of yummy breakfast and lunch favorites super cool plates that you wont find anywhere else...my breakfast sandwich was on a conchita with scrumptious meats and fresh avocado. I would absolutely recommend everyone to try this place! There aguas frescas were so refreshing. Theres something for everyone here!
Great brunch spot!!! Very convenient location although it was a but hidden. The logo is rather small to notice but the breakfast and lunch give it away pretty much. I ordered the Traditional Filipino Breakfast bowl and my fiance had the Mexipino breakfast plate. Both were super delish!! Highly recommend the spot. Very clean and organized.
My wife being Filipina & me being Mexican we were super excited to try this place! When we got there we were impressed with a really good vibe and craft style resto. It was pretty busy around lunch time on a Friday but we got a table fast enough so we didnt wait too long. Once we got the menu we really found it a little lacking on the Filipino side. Plenty of good choices for mexican style cuisines but not too many fusion plates which is really why we came here. With that said we ordered the traditional Filipino breakfast and their signature chicken adobo waffles, and they were pretty fantastic. Washed it down with their calamansi mint and cucumber spinach which are a must try if you go there. The service was pretty lousy, are waiter never asked for a refill, forgot our extra sides we ordered and it took 15 minutes once we asked for the bill. All in all it was a great resto w/ sub par service.. were hoping it was just the lunch rush..Our Curiosity will most likely bring us back! Word on the street is that they will be adding some dinner menu items in the future!
Food was great and full of flavor. They may benefit from adding staff to the operation and speed up the delivery. This is to be expected from a newer operation though. The friendly service makes up for it though. You have to give this place a try for sure. The mexipino breakfast sandwich is worth the visit.
The staff is so sweet & warming; & the food is amazing
The orange slice for garnish was fresh. The rest was to throw away. 45 minutes to get my order, the scrambled eggs dry and overcooked, the chilaquiles dry, some chips didnt even have salsa and they had just a hint of cream, they forgot my side of beans.I have recommended these chilaquiles to so many people and now I am going back for the Lomas Cafe chilaquiles.
The place is very welcoming, very clean. Service is good too. The food, I just tried one dish, the Pork Trio Scramble. I asked to substitute Garlic Fried Rice instead of potatoes. It’s so delicioso / masarap! Perfect blend of salty and sweet, specially if like me, you will eat it with Jufran Banana Sauce (grew up eating spam with this sauce).
First off let me say this is one of those little neighborhood gems you dont want to miss and even though theyre finishing up with the remodel the place was not dirty at all. Richard the owner greeted us as soon as we walk through the door and is one of those guys that so friendly you feel like family by the time you leave. They have a huge menu from smoothies and breakfast all the way through lunch and dinner and even though it was lunchtime he was more than willing to make breakfast for us. We ordered the delicious salad which is a walnut and grape salad with honey mayonnaise dressing and it was both large and delicious. And I ordered the beef milanesa which was melt-in-your-mouth tender and also a large portion we will definitely be going back. Everything was Super Fresh, guac., salsa, everything!
Unforgettable dinning experience. The food was full of flavor, well presented, and the portions are more than enough for a man with a healthy appetite. That was enough to bring me back but the thing that has sealed the deal for me as a new regular was meeting Richard the owner. Made me feel like I was visiting the home of an old friend for lunch.
So many things to choose from. It really feels like home. The sauces are great and the place is clean. The only thing I didnt like as much was the fish balls. They were a little too fancy for me. Lol
It is not every day that my food arrives and I audibly gasp, Oh my!Well, when the Mexipino Hash arrived at my table that is exactly what I did. This thing was ridiculous in its size and content. I cant even begin to fully describe the awesomeness of the dish, but suffice it to say that any dish that has potatoes, rice and spam — it is a comfort food winner!I will definitely get back there to try the Adobo Fried Chicken and Waffles. the service as friendly and chill, the ambiance pretty local and laid-back, so if you are looking or bougie fast in and out kind of a place, look elsewhere or just embrace the experience. It will be worth it.
The cook had bad customer service. Food was cold. And it was just bad. Even the place looked dirty.
I have had many Filipino breakfasts but this is by far the best and the dish is so nice and neat. 😋
I will give this place a 5 not just because of its originality but because the food is great and the portions are Big. I really recommend it. Its a fusion of mexican filipino.
You won’t be disappointed. Don’t Miss out on this place. We drove from Temecula and will do it again.
If you want a great breakfast or lunch please go here! They have great food and excellent service. I highly recommend this place.
WOW! Delicious! HUGE portions. Great value. Mexican and Filipino fusion! Hit the spot and some to take home for round 2. Treat yourself! You wont be disappointed. For the foodie and the casual consumer.
Delicious breakfast combo!
Terrible food high prices they will not stay in business long. Honestly tastless dishes filled mostly with big chunks of unseasoned fried potatoes with plain tasteless egg and charged about $15. Thumbs down very disappointed. Only tried because I had 2 for 1 coupon. Even that coupon was a surprise for staff who had to call the boss to get it approved. Obviously poorly managed. No other customers while i was there at lunchtime
Im happy to have finally tried this restaurant. I tried their chicken tocino combo with cucumber spinach juice and it was fantastic. I will come back here again to try their other delicacies. I saw some people order their pancakes and they werent kidding when they said its huge. The food they have is actually plentiful. Im glad we have food like this here down south bay.
Delicious! I cant wait to visit again and try more of the menu! I tried the adobada ribs.
Loved this place. Staff were helpful and personable. Everything we ordered was awesome. When they say giant pancake it really is GIANT. The Adobe chicken and waffles was excellent, my husband ordered the mexicpino breakfast sandwich, basically with every meat on it, and loved it. We will definitely be coming back asap
Wow this is our first time and what a blast Richard the owner personally took care of us. The food was great the flavors were awesome and we loved the atmosphere. Perfect place to come with friends and family and get some good comfort food. Thank you Mexipino.
Do not get the classic American. The breakfast was terrible. The eggs had no seasoning or flavor. The potatoes served are just reheated baked potatoes. The bacon was so greasy. The toast was soggy. The food was brought to me cold and it seems they just reheated it in a microwave when it was given back to me. I would just remove this portion of the menu. The service could have been better. Would not go back.
Big portions. Food is excellent. Had their Mexipino sandwich, while my wife had braised pork. One of the few places this side of the border thatll serve fresh squeezed juice or at least a water based drink with real juice in it and is still on this side of the border. My wife loves it and shes not easy to please especially with anything new.Recommendation to the owner. Put pictures of the food on the windows outside and have employees offer samples of the food to passersby. This community can be very closed minded when it comes to food and anything thats a little different or not Mexican enough to their way of thinking.
Best food out there!! Our Mexipino family loves coming here!💖
I am only giving this a 4 star because Ive only visited place once. Plus, the parking was quite hard to get since it is the plaza with all these other stores and a gym. I ordered the torta Mexican braised pork. It was awesome. I will definitely come back again to try their other food thats on the menu. And I wish they also had more selection for lunch because that was the time i came. The menu mostly consist of breakfast and thats why I have decided to rate this a 4 star.
Very good food. Mostly large sandwiches for lunch. Took home leftovers. Not open at this time for dinner. Close at 3 pm. Open for breakfast. Menu is based on Philippine and Mexican dishes. No wine or beer at this time. Restaurant is towards the south end of single building and on west side of Broadway.
Fresh and innovative Mexican and Pilipino fusion menu. Hole-in-the-wall type of atmosphere. Good, hearty portions and tasty meals.
Staff here is great! Always phenomenal food and customer service. I love the new remodel as well. Check them out.
We went this AM to Mexipino Craft down on South side of Broadway in West CV and I literally didnt want to share bc there was no wait and the food was delish 🤤 and I almost want to keep it a secret. 😂 The atmosphere felt like. Southpark/Northpark vibe. Wish this place had landed a spot on 3rd ave bc I feel there would have been more traffic. Anywho. Service was super good, really attentive but not too much. The food was SPOT ON. Prices were good too 🙌🏼.I will heed one major warning though. Do NOT let your stomach talk for you bc despite how hungry you think you are stick with one menu item at a time. Haha! We left so full and definitely needed boxes to take for lunch and dinner. 🤦🏻♀️Also its definitely casual and kid friendly. 🤗Pics of our enormous breakfast.Husband got the Mexi Roasted Pork Hash and the GIANT pancake in the center with a spinach cucumber fresca and an Americano.I got the oreo frappe, strawberry fresca, ube crepe, and chilaquiles.So. Damn. Good.
Its been good, though the potatoes on my hash were not cooked all the way due to the fact that they were good chunks, probably; the pancake is HUGE but it doesnt have a unique taste. Everything else is great and would definitely come back for the scramble part of the menu
Chicken tocino is a must have. The fried chicken adobo is great. Can’t wait to see when we can grab drinks here with breakfast in the future!
Crazy huge portions if your in the mood for instant food coma. Creative and delicious... I recommend this place..🤙🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Very good, great portion. Highly recommend fried chicken adobo and waffles !
Always luv to support local 😋 good eats... nice size portions at a great price! It will be great to see more Mexican Filipino fusion. We liked the Mexipibo hash but rather have rice separate. Giant Ube Pancake is fun🍠
Food was pretty good but the coffee was absolutely awful. Luke warm and taste like folgers watered down. Nice staff and they are trying hard, so I hope they can change.
Excellent food and service. Small and family friendly. Portions are Generous.
Great place they have a very young fresh vibe they have amazing customer service, food was really good, we will be coming back. It would be even better if they had a couple vegan options so i could bring my wife.
I just went in there tonight, and was so thankful that Richard, the owner, didnt rush me as I came through the door 20 minutes before they were going to close for the night. I was offered to dine in, and so I did peruse the menu and ordered the Grilled Salmon, as well as a smoothie with 4 fruits that I chose. The waitstaff and/or cooks were friendly and courteous, and I didnt mind waiting because I knew they were staying overtime. They went ahead with the to go order that was after me, but again, no worries there since I was dining in. The smoothie tasted so fresh, not too sweet. The salad that came on the fish plate was so fresh too. Portion of fish was adequate, with a scoop of seasoned rice. I had opted out of the chile sauce, and didnt mind the salmon dry. Will definitely come back to try the acai, as they had run out. Nice pricing as well, wish I lived closer!
The food was excellent...and the cook worked with me to get how I wanted my food to be served...very nice touch for new place that we will go back to again and again
Very delicious, fresh with a kick of filipino !! The chicken adobo was so delicious and crispy . Came from vegas to try this back place back at my hometown
Drove from Spring Valley to Chula Vista just to try this place. Got there at 2:25 pm just to be told that they had ran out of food. Not sure how a restaurant could ran out of ALL of their food.I was NOT given a coupon, or other options.Even a .50 cent off coupon for my next visit could have made me a client.Never got a chance to try it, but not going back!
This fusion restaurant is pretty new to me but not an uncommon idea of cooking here in the south bay. I went right when they opened for the day and was the first customer and so of course my service was pretty fast and the host/waiter was friendly. I asked him what where the most popular dishes and he explained them both to me in detail, what the ingredients were. It was the adobo chicken and waffles and the mexipino hash. I got the hash and you definitely get your moneys worth in food. It was a heavy dish for breakfast but a delicious one. I would really suggest sharing this plate or take it for lunch. The place itself was pretty basic but I dont mind, Im just there for the food. I would definitely be going back to try more dishes
Great idea and great price for what you get. Food was delicious and in large portions.
Super good tortas, my guys always get the ninja jumbo, enough for lunch and dinner. Add some fries to it.
Super delicious and huge portions! Definitely a great place for breakfast!
When it concerns morning meal areas in San Diego, this is without a doubt my favorite. Mixing filipino as well as mexican food, this area can do no wrong.Me as well as my sweetheart have actually attempted practically whatever below, with my favored being the adobo fried chicken and waffles as well as hers being the poultry torta.Coffee here is impressive and the solution is sensational. Ive been showing as well as informing many of my friends concerning this area and while its pretty much from numerous areas in SD, its well worth the journey!
Loved the place :) the best breakfast I’ve ever had :) great atmosphere and service !
So good. Very good quality food. Not expecting to be this happy eating refried black beans. They are delicious on their own. Had salmon Benedict with. a cilantro cream sauce. So good. Sister in law had the best chilaquiles Ive ever had! (I tried hers)Wife had the Milanesa. (Ate rest of hers) was also delicious. She even ate all her beans! She doesnt normally like black beans but commented the same except that she loved these. We will be back!
A delicious restaurant with massive portions. Their breakfast was enough food for an entire day, but it was a great price and I could not stop eating it.
The food is great, the juices and smoothies are some of the best you can get, and the staff are always willing to help you out however they can. I love eating here (Always the green burrito, or the veggie torta. Amazing!)
Mexipino is a creative restaurant with mixed cultural food. I enjoyed trying some of their menu items.
Was excited to try this place but they were not open at 7:00 as stated. We waited until 7:15 and no movement inside. Too bad.
Great food and atmosphere..Roger our server was excellent.
Food was good but disappointing there was not more phillippino food on the menu. Generous portions of food though .The smoked pork torta was delicious. Great customer service too.
Could use some work with service food and organization but its overall its good
Good comfort food if you like pancakes you got to try to them
Another great establishment to the city of Chula Vista. Disappointed in the 1 star reviews. This place is NEW. Small business are always working out their kinks the first couple of months. A group of 7 of us came on a Sunday around 1pm. We had a 30 minute wait for a table ( which was not a problem for us), they were busy. The definitely did NOT disappoint with their food and portions. Definitely under staffed the day we went, but the Male server who was helping us was such a hard worker and was kind 100% of our stay. Will definitely we coming back. The mexipino hash was amazing and the ninja torta was huge and so delish ♡
Went there for breakfast. Bacon, eggs, potatoes, toast. Meal doesnt come with toast. You have to order it and pay extra. They gave me one slice of bread. Really? Like who does that? Now the potatoes. They took a leftover baked potato, threw it on the grill, mashed it with a spatula, and served it to me. You can imagine what it looked like! No salt, pepper, onions, nothing. Flavorless!!! The eye eats first. Mine, lost its appetite.
Great place combination of Mexico and the Philippines meals
Portions are huge. I ordered a chicken sandwich but instead received a carb fortress. Sandwiches have three slices of bread and are pinned with a stick to hold all the meat and veggies together. I wasnt prepared for such height.I was only able to eat half, so if youre there with someone else, one sandwich should be enough for two. I also bought the hangover juice, which comes with carrot, beats, celery, and parsley. The carrot flavor was lacking a bit, but again, the portion was big so whatever.Atmosphere is nice. Ive actually never been inside the Don Roberto strip mall until visiting this barr. Lots of parking!
I had the braised pork dish w house potatoes and pan de sal. It was delicious!
Good coffee. Try the sandwiches!
Tried the delicious adobo fried chicken & waffles. Had the calimansi water that has a great citrus taste. So if you want something different to your typical orange juice try this water. Overall I was extremely pleased with MexiPinos staff service. The food was delicious.
The food took me back in time to my grandmas kitchen it was almost as good almost
Great food mexipino hash was off the hook!!!! With egg!!!
Food is delicious! I feel like you have to really read into the menu to find the fusion plates. the mexipino hash, Adobo waffle, and mexipino sandwich are my favorites so far. its breakfast and lunch only so this place closes at 3.
This is an awesome place for a good meal, very good service.
Tried the chicken and waffle and it was goooooood!
Great food. Large servings.
Large portions and fast service
Love the natural fruit and its a nice place to just kick back and relax...service here is good and they are nice
Amazing food, great service...
Good service the torta is huge and very tasty price might seem high $10.00 for a torta but really your receiving 2 of them. the fruit drink was deliciouse definitely commin back.
Delicious breakfast options!
Great Filipino/ Mexican fusion.
I love this the food was great i recommend this
