Great place!! Very chill! A throwback to the Coffee Houses of the 60s and 70s. Dont miss jazz pianist Irving Flores on Friday nights.

We loved the coffee and the atmosphere was funky & cute. There are games to play and a variety of books to read. The walls have links to GoFundMe pages for homeless and other projects. There are also stories from homeless individuals on the wall, very moving. We want to go back to enjoy the food and music in the evenings soon.

Delicious coffee at Brew Bar!!! From espresso to pour overs there is a little something for everyone. I had a pour over from Trident coffee roasters and a decaf oat cortado, both were on point! 5 stars! Theres a great wine and beer selection and a tasty food menu with vegan and gluten free options too! The best part about this place - the people... everyone was kind and attentive it made me feel like part of the family. The music was the cherry on top!

This place is absolutely fantastic! The owner is friendly and knowledgeable. The food is some of the best I have had while visiting the area. Great variety of wine as well. There are several options for both myself (vegan) and my boyfriend (non vegan) and a patio so we can walk our dog. Highly highly recommend if you are in the area, you will want to come back. All around amazing place to visit.

I came in with a couple friends while killing time on a Friday afternoon. Truly surprised by how knowledgeable the owner is about coffee. He made me an incredible cup of decaf, which I savored. They serve a very nice selection of beers here as well. I also saw the owner making someone an intricate mimosa. The cafe is decorated very nicely—it is modern and hip with a fun array of furniture and tables. A friendly customer played a game of chess with me. I really recommend stopping in here for coffee or a drink. It’s a great little spot.

This is a good place in the morning if your looking for just coffee. The service was good but for breakfast I feel it could use more food items. There wasnt many breakfast choices so we opted for the breakfast sandwich. A lot of the items were taped crossing them out so there wasnt much to choose from. We had to pay extra for the croissant which they ended up only having one so we had to get a bagel for the other. I do like the fact the eggs had flavor but sadly my croissant was over toasted to the point of crispy/ falling apart. The dirty iced coffee was good but got watered quick.

My first time there i wasnt impress but as i started to go more often i had the opportunity to meet Alex (the owner) and was able to get to know his vision, what hes doing and how he helps the community to make a difference in rhe people they serve. Try their beers, teas, coffees and signature wines.

LOVE this place for amazing coffee drinks! Anthem Annex runs the kitchen and serves up some delicious vegan food. Split bakehouse also distributes their delicious pastries and donuts here.

Thoughtful food menu and meticulous presentation, carefully curated and crafted coffee. The owner is clearly knowledgeable and passionate about coffee, featuring a variety of top rated local roasters. This level of care and dedication to creating a positive experience for the customer is very welcomed and appreciated. Although the wait for food wasnt short, it is understandable with the pandemic situation as well as the attention to detail.

This place is very chill. Always a bowl of water and biscuits treats for dogs as you enter. Tried and enjoyed the coffe. 😁Open again come

This place is slow. This is not a negative review. I love having a slow, relaxed, cup or glass of high quality coffee, tea, or beer and this is an amazing place for that. However, if you want to grab a cup of coffee and gtfo asap this might not be the spot for you.

Nice music, good seating, amazing service and delicious drinks! The whole vibe was very cool, and the barista was very kind and skilled at her craft. The stories on the walls were very moving, and there was a GoFundMe QR code for helping homeless. I really loved how there were no coffee machines and coffee was made by hand through a gravity brewing method, which, in my opinion, made the coffee steonger and had a bolder flavour. The drink I got, the Vienesse, gave me nostalgia from my past, going to a Halloween fair in autumn.

This is a very cool place! A nice smooth Americano. I like the sidewalk ambiance and parking availability. A great place just to hang out. The 3rd Street Village Association is making it happen here.

Pretty good service for a self service place.The burger variety is good and they carry both the Byond burger and the Impossibly burger.Anthem karne is pretty good and flavorful but it falls short in terms meaty-ness feel and texture.Its the kind of place that you can go in and order items that sound like they are made of meat but in reality they arent. I dont think that they try trick people on purpose, vut the items are named as if they were really animal made, and except for the small print at the bottom of the menu you have no hint that chicken taryake isnt, well, chicken....The burger was really good and recommended.The cheese steak sandwich (philly-cheese-steak) not so goodThe Chipotle aioli was blend and tasted more like the thousands island sauce

Alex (the owner) is a nice dude and knows his coffee, wine, and beer. Dont expect speedy fastfood/starbucks service because he hand pours/presses every drink with care.Worth the wait. Worth every penny.

Very relaxed vibe. When i was there some girls were playing games and playing the ukulele. I had the Cherry Bomb, a sake based beverage. Also the mule. Both very good.

The vegan food here is pretty good but service could be better. I wish they had less heavy options but it is supposed to be bar food. The potato soyrizo tacos are huge and very filling, also the gangster wrap (buffalo chickn) is really good too. Grateful that CV now has has 1 vegan restaurant. Thanks Anthem!!Update: 05/22/19Went today and tried the poyo bowl and teriyaki bowl, both super good and came out quickly! My non-vegan friends were super impressed, couldnt believe the chickn wasnt real.

Was a Sunday evening out at 3 Punk Ales with my lovely wife. After dropping a few pints each mozied over to the Brew Bar ( first time for me) a few doors down for a quick bite. Walked in, nice place, cozy with a pulse. Trendy but very welcoming. Got to meet the Gentleman running the place named Alex. Very nice guy, attentive, cordial and knowledgeable about his product. The food is provided by Anthem Tacos, we had the Sweet Potato Fries which were outstanding, didnt try anything else but it seemed like the good crowd in there was enjoying some very pallatable treats. Old downtown Chula Vista is a very welcoming place to hang out especially for a lifelong South Bay resident. Im not a locals only kind of guy but its always nice to have fine establishments like the Brew Bar in your own backyard and if your from the South Bay or know someone from, then you know we are some the coolest cultural people on the planet Earth. I rate 4 Stars simply because I didnt really have time to try more food or take in environment longer. Brew Bar offers an excellent choice of fine bottled craft beer just be ready to pay the higher end price (somewhat justified) for the availability. From reading the menu and some of the options on the menu, Brew Bar would be a good choice for anything from a complete dinner date to an after bar nightcap last bite. With so many choices as downtown Chula Vista continues to evolve and define itself. Would absolutely recommend the Brew Bar. Say hi to Alex and ask him if any Woody Allen is playing.

Great vibe, intimate space with bar seating and tables along with a sidewalk facing open stool height counter. Friendly staff and very good vegan food selection provided by Anthem. Great place to enjoy high quality coffee and some very unique alcoholic mixed beverages.

Epic and well thought out quality drinks and potions. The staff, especially the owner is friendly and super approachable. The vibe is very community oriented and relaxed/laid back. Live music and just a chill atmosphere. One of my favorite spots to just relax and get work done

Just go. Great atmosphere, awesome staff, and drinks that put most everyone else to shame. And if it concerns you, they have a lot of alternate ingredient options to mod the drinks to your needs.

Short on service because of covid but great personality and attention to patrons needs regardless. This was a great spot for morning coffee and enjoying a moment of normal in this pandemic.

Not your regular coffee place. It is a nice change from Starbucks. One issue is that is open late about 10am, so dont go there for you morning coffee.

I came out in search of a place where i can sit down and enjoy a beverage and maybe grab a bite. This quaint little coffee shop provided all that and more. Alex (the owner) fixed me a up a delicious blood orange iced tea. Upon realizing i can sit down on the set up they have, i ordered some crumpets (blueberry scones & cookies) to share with my friends. My buddy ordered the sake with an orange peel and espresso shot which i highly recommend.I ended up getting really curious about Flip Kitchen which was co-inhabiting the space and to my delight, they have a variety of options for vegans. I ordered the acai banana split which is a must have! If you live in South Bay and looking for a place to enjoy a nice beverage and some snacks while people watching, this is definitely a must try. The staff was constantly santizing and wiping everything down and they are following strict protocols which made me feel good about being there.

Love this place! Finally a decent coffee shop in Chula Vista. Owner is very knowledgeable. The only reason its four instead of five stars is because the seating could be better. But honestly, thats minimal compared to the quality of everything you get in return. The coffee is wonderful and the vibes are so relaxing. I love that I dont have to go all the way across town just to get some coffee now. Wine and beer selection isnt half bad either.

The atmosphere is wonderful. Its chill & classy, while simultaneously being down to earth. The owner is delightfully creative & tries to craft the perfect beverage for his clientele. Drinking a latte, tea, or even beer at Brew Bar feels as if youre drinking at a cafe right around the corner and in your own dining room all at once. I highly recommend you check out this homey, character-filled addition to Third Avenue. Where else can you try a drink called Unicorn Blood?

If youre looking for the best cafe in downtown Chula Vista, you found it!As a freelancer I spend a lot of time in and out of local coffee places, and I can say without hesitation that Brew Bar is my favorite cafe I have ever come across. The food is delicious (even though its all vegan!); the drinks are always exceptional and unique; and the people who work there are absolute delights as well as highly informed about coffee culture. Great for chatting with friends, family, or working. Such a bright atmosphere. Ya gotta try em out!

Coffee and the breakfast sandwich is pretty good

Went in with low expectations but walked away a very happy man. me and my wife didnt know what to have besides a stout since we kind of go off of what a new place says he recommend what I can say a perfect beer for me to drink that was not only a fair price for a bar but a great amount that lasted far longer than I could of hope. I would recommend coming here not once but many times over. super friendly staff with a unique type of ambiance. also try the coffee its amazing.

The owner Alex left an impression on me. His passion for community and his coffee shop made me want to support it. He took his time explaining what he was making and the ingredients. Let me just say I did not want to finish my coffee. It was AMAZING! The food was also so good, the vibe was very welcoming and warm. You gotta check it out.

Probably my favorite coffee bar in San Diego. The coffee drinks are very well made. They really know what theyre doing and they take their craft seriously. Service is superb and even though the barista knows his stuff, hes not pretentious or snobby. The decor is very nice and it sets the mood for a good time. I highly recommend this place.

Brew Bar is a lovely craft coffee bar, serving specialty caffeinated potions, local beer, small bites, and rare wines&sakes from around the world. The service is amazing but despite the name this bar is far greater with its wine selection. They have a few beers on tap and a few bottled overall the atmosphere is great and the food service from anthem seems respectable. 5/5 for the service

By far the best coffee in Chula Vista and on par with any of the great coffee shops in SD. The owner is very knowledgeable about coffee and how to pour it correctly. Highly recommend buying the bourbon barrel aged beans they have for sale.

Quaint little place. Very specific beverage availability due to the Owners preference, not necessarily a negative. Owner does have a passion for his concept for beer, coffee, and unique blends he finds. Tried a peach saison, which had a beer and wine taste. It was very appealing to my palate.

This is Anthem Vegan Chula Vista. It has many of Anthem North Parks favorites, but when youre used to table service, having counter service is a drag. That said, the food is great, the staff is wonderful and the other patrons were friendly. Overall a very nice experience.

The owner is exceptionally friendly! If you visit I suggest you try his bomber!!! It is fabulous if you love coffee. There is a good atmosphere and they have F.R.I.E.N.D.S. playing in the background.

Fantastic drink selection. I highly recommend either of the meads. And, of course you should try the Unicorn Blood potion. It has quite the unique flavor.

A welcoming lowy key atmosphere with great coffee and food. Added bonus for non-meat eaters, the food is vegan!There is awlays a dog bowl inside and dogs are welcome inside as long as they are well behaved. The staff is great. Cant recommend this place highly enough!

This place has remarkable food 10/10, I got the breakfast burrito and my fiancé obtained the omelette. They both had terrific taste!! I do believe that my sugar cappucino was a bit too pleasant yet I just know for next time to obtain it half sweetened.Im definitely going back soon and would advise it for any of my peeps looking for a great morning meal!

Great quality drinks and various selections. The food menu is all vegan omg! Very delicious and comfort foods available. I had the vegan nachos, which I highly recommend. As well as the rootbeer.

The service is slow the seating is sub-par and the reason we came here was to get some Anthem but even that has gone down hill doesnt tastes the same as it use to. I would love to see a brick and mortar shop for Anthem again.

Fantastic place with fantastic service

Went there a few minutes after opening and couldnt tell if they were actually open. Went up to the door and the staff inside completely ignored me. Tried the door and it was locked. Doesnt seem like they care to open on time or not be rude to potential customers. A simple, well be open in just a few would have gone a long way.

So amazing!!! the staff is unbelievably kind, helpful and knowledgeable about all the food and coffee options. they have only vegan options and everything’s so good. the owner alex is amazingly nice and willing to answer any questions you have. I deff recommend going here!

You have to have quality coffee to produce a great-tasting cup from light-roast beans. I got it here.

Fresh brewed coffees and teas, fresh taste every time.

They also have beer and red wine with tap Kombucha and difficult Kombucha. Unusual find.Any percieved issues with solution pointed out by some here are difficult to think. Being distressed you paid a whole lot for wonderful potato fries as well as taking it out on the component of the area that has absolutely nothing to do with it, is a bit outrageous.

Went to the Brew Bar today, really bad service... the “barista “ was more interested in being cool and not paying attention. He was told at least 4 times by the female server about my drink. He made 5 other drinks ordered after mine and then continued flirting and bebopping to the music. I had paid for the drink, never got it. Did get an apology from Tim, the other barista who was present but off duty. Never going back and can not recommend this place.
