The store itself is okay, I guess, as far as cleanliness and such goes. However, they are ALWAYS out of everything. Picking up groceries at this store is an absolute disaster every time and I have had enough. I will be going to another Kroger from now on.There are never enough employees working. There have been multiple times when I have sat in the parking lot waiting for an hour and a half for my groceries because there is only one person working. If I request no substitutions, they still substitute things anyway. The produce sucks when I order a pickup. Everything is bruised and rotten when I get it home. I also think they have a secret part of the store where they keep everything that gets damaged on the truck and thats what they use for pickups. There was mud on my seltzer water case and the cans were warped.
After the third time we’ve had to wait more than 2 hours for pickup, I felt the need to leave a review. Upon calling this time, the best we got was a “sorry, you should probably just cancel your order”. No attempt to make it right, just effectively a shrug. Will be trying the other Kroger and Walmart in the future.
Love Kroger! The people that work there are great. Deli and seafood are my favorites. Pharmacy is terrible but not enough to change my rating
Click list pickup never takes less than 30 minutes - why bother. Walmart and Food Lion are both much better.
Just inside 7/11 @ 4:10 pm. We were using self checkout. Three high school aged employees standing, texting on their phones....the individual next to me asked for help ....the young man responds, Im off the clock. She asks another young female employee and she too responds, Im off the clock. They proceed to hang out next to the self checkout registers and text. Disappointed in the work ethic to help someone for a job that would have taken 1-2 seconds to complete.
This review is for all of clicklist and their manager they are all amazing people who do so much for everyone and they dont get the proper thanks or respect that they deserve and of course Tyler and Paul in the cheese shop they always have a story or a joke to tell to brighten your day.
Kroger clicklist here is a disaster. When you have to wait over an hour to get your groceries, there is a major problem. Kudos to the ONE employee working his tail off, but this is unacceptable.
Donna is so kind and helpful, and she alone is the reason I shop at the Kroger in Christiansburg over other stores.
Krogers great!! Great prices and I have NEVER had a negative experience with any of the staff. Not to mention if you have the Kroger card, you can even get cheap gas from there. I saved points for maybe a couple months and got 50 or 60 cents off PER GALLON!! I think I paid .80c per gallon. You cant beat that!!
I prefer other Kroger stores to this one. The selection is better here, but it is very often crowded.
A great local store that has the pop-ular Click-List stroke Kroger Pickup facility. This store has seen a recent refit and has a cheese world and Starbucks in the store. The pickup area is located in the worst possible place. When you reverse out, there is a blind hill on one side and constant vehicles coming the other. Beware!
Nothing has really changed in our community other than more people wear masks now and plenty of others dont. The store was as busy as always. Nice people. Very Courteous. All Shelves stocked. Nice clean store.
Unfortunate that I called earlier in the day to ask what time the deli closed and was told 7pm, yet when I show up a 6:30 it is already closed.
Love this store, however one less point for the bakery. 4 interactions with 3 different employees for birthday cake orders over a year, and they’ve all been just plain rude! Lost my cake order for my sons 6th birthday, and I had to leave without his cake or even so much as an apology. Other than the jerks in the bakery, the staff is mostly pleasant, polite and extremely courteous and helpful.
I ordered online and went to pick up my groceries and they gave me somebody elses!! Im currently sitting waiting for my groceries...if they have them and didnt give My groceries to someone else. Ill definitely be going to another store
My husband and I shop exclusively at kroger. We also use the pharmacy for all of our needs. My husband was treated so rude at the self checkout. He was picking up a few items and also had a 24 pack of beer. The woman at the self checkout came to over ride for the alcohol and my husband is 63 years old. She proceeded to harass him for his id and ask him for the expiration date on his drivers license. Talking about embarrassing and I could see if he was under 40. But 63. She was rude . Called the store manager . Agian rude. We spend a very substantial amount on pharmaceutical and groceries. We will be moving all of our expensive prescriptions and groceries elsewhere as well as gas purchases . This world is hard enough a 63 yr old man should not be harassed trying to buy beer after a long day working . And doing your job at the self check out.
Very busy but great in stock merch! And staff!!!
I really like this Kroger and the employees are great, but the mask requirement is not being upheld. They put really nice, yet understandably timid young girls at the front to try to enforce the mask policy but they let anyone through with any excuse that doesn’t have one, to avoid confrontation. It doesn’t help to protect any employees or customers to have a policy for safety if you aren’t going to bother enforcing it.
The woman at the self checkout on this day around 3pm was absolutely wonderful. Something was wrong with my card and she paid for my juice. Im currently pregnant so this literally almost made me cry and helped me out immensely. 💓 Thank you to whoever she was. God bless her.
They refuse to enforce the state mandated mask policy. The manager James was confronted and refused to even ask the anti-maskers to put something over their face. He lied to me about procedures and policies of the store too. Youre safer shopping at stores like Target and Aldi and you will likely find a bigger variety of products too.
Have always been very helpful. Last trip, I realized that I had forgotten two bags in the self checkout. I called after I had unloaded and put away my groceries. They went out, found my bags then put them in the fridge and held them for me until I could come back.
These guys posted record profits and the franchise is closing stores to try to strong arm their way out of paying workers hazard pay.
Staff members dont like to help and checkout is a nightmare. They dont like taking checks for payment of the groceries. Have been told by staff members not their problem cant help on questions asked. I shop other places now, got fied up being treated like that.
Always have great looking produce. But for some reason this time there green and red leaf lettuce looked rough, so I bought a head lettuce and spinach to make a salad. Its a great remodeled store with everything.
This is a brand new store with all the specialties included. I love the choices on the shelves and knowledgeable department personal. However, it is so big it is difficult to shop for just a few things. Be prepared to walk and explore many unique food choices Krogers has brought to the area.
A family member works here and the stories they tell about the laziness of some of the other workers. Krogers hire laziest people that just flirt or go hide rather than doing their jobs. The management is just as useless. I see this with my own eyes every time I go in. Im going to food lion from now on!
I hope that I never have to go back.
Puck up manager got a bit testee. I had gotten a text to call about my pick up order. Waste of time.
Great selection & quality. Pharmacy, terrific staff & service. Pizza...awesome price, taste & value. Staff is always terrific. Very impressed with the new remodel of Christiansburg Franklin Road store
This kroger is still a good store, but they are in desperate need of new management. A out 6 months ago it started going downhill and every time I go now it seems to be getting worse. Please get a new store manager.
I had bad experience at deli today when i asked associate to give me 1/2 lb. ham slived really thin. The associate proceeds to slice meat when I asked to see how he had been slicing the ham. I asked him to slice the ham real thin when he stated thats about as thin as i m going to get it. I informed him that no iI get ham thinly sliced constantly. The associaye was obviously perturbed tossing the already cut ham on the table. He proceeded to slice ham as i wanted. TPlease show a little respect to customers. Thank you
This is a bety nice Kroger. It was massively renovated and expanded so it has everything. Has great produce section. salad bar, hit food bar, Starbucks, Murray Cheese store, bakery, great seafood section and a pharmacy. So, pretty cool place to shop. It is huge! Very spread out. so go prepared to walk.
The new deli, cheese shop, food court is awesome! I work close by and eat lunch there frequently. There are so many choices, there is something for everyone one. The prices are very reasonable and the employees are helpful and friendly.
From the day I moved here I fell in love with this store, from the great quality products they carry to the awesome people they employ I couldnt ask for a better grocery store! They are always happy to order a product you want if they dont carry it. The store is always extremely clean and orderly. With all the recent work done to expand their services, its an even greater pleasure to know I have this resource so close to home. The pharmacy even engages in price comparison to offer you the best prices they can get! If you need to go shopping for anything from food to sunblock to charcoal, and even dishes and cookware- this place has it!
The new renovation is complete and its a whole new Kroger! The store puts all the local competition to shame. The deli kicks out some delicious sandwiches and chicken tenders. The guy behind the cheese counter actually knows cheese. The beer and wine selection is impressive. My only complaints? The one tiny bathroom stuck in a corner by the pharmacy. Cmon if youre going to be the biggest and best grocery store in town you can really do better than that. Also the entrance down by the deli. Plainly the designer didnt anticipate it being as popular an entrance/exit as it is. Single wide doors without automatic opening make bringing a cart or armload of bags through an unnecessary struggle. With self checkouts right beside the door, people are going to use it constantly.
Christiansburg store is HUGE. I miss Kroger. So many wonderful items to choose from at this location. The cheese aisle is amazing as well as the expansive Wine selection. It was like a Wonderland :) I found everything I needed. Bring a list because if you walk around you will find so many items it is ridiculous. I definitely got my steps goal for the day, too.
There is a girl names EMILY at customer service who was completely rude and so unprofessional! She was incorrect on everything she told me and refused to allow me to speak with a manger. Im calling corporate now to complain on her! This girl was very disrespectful and i hope Korger will do something about this!!!!! 😠
Kroger has really raised the bar compared to your average grocery stores. I stop in very often for their sushi and Murrays cheese bar, which offers some of the best cheese Ive ever eaten. The remodeled store is massive, and has almost everything one could possibly desire from a grocery retail store.
Never ever enough staff between 5pm - 8pm. Deli has one worker. Line of customers and the phone is ringing off the hook. You cant find anybody in the store to ask a question or ask to locate something. Only two cashiers open and the Self-Check Out areas with lines. The renovated store is nice, has lots of stuff, and some organics. However, the store needs to pay people competitively, hire more people, and open more cashier registers for the after work rush.
Yesterday was my first visit to this Kroger location. I love Kroger stores but this Kroger was a little disappointing. Although nicely updated they were out of stock of quite a few items I was looking for. Also, I saw a rat or large mouse run from one set shelves to under another set of shelves (not sure of the isle numbers, I was so shocked when I saw it I forgot to look)...I dont know if I will be going back after seeing that.
I so love this place. They know me in cheese dept, wine dept., deli and Starbucks. Quality products at great prices. The Kroger app makes shopping a breeze by telling you exactly where the products you want are located. You can load coupons directly on your Plus Card eliminating paper coupons.
They were out of most sale items I made the trip for. Two days into the sale mid day I would expect there to be more availability. The customer service cashier was very nice and gave me a rain check without a problem. I did not have trouble with my ecoupons or physical coupons. I still think they can do better with their prices.
Kroger has always been by favorite place to get groceries. I like places that really reward customers for continuing to shop there. I get one fuel point for every dollar spent at Kroger. I had over 600 fuel points and consequently when I fueled up last night, I received a discount of 60 cents off per gallon. Fuel prices are already low, but Ill take any discounts I can get, and these are great!
The place has pretty much everything youll need from a grocery store. It is very clean and the shelves are kept stocked. Their buffet is really good and decently priced.
After the remodel, this place is fabulous! Great selection, decent prices, and they now offer hot foods. I love eating lunch here!
I like to buy organic products there and in bulk nuts and others things. Great products. Japonese food and pizza made there are good too.I like there because its small . Easy to find everthing I need. Its organized.
Huge store! Huge selection! Fantastic prices. Great service. Everything you could want in grocery store. plus a huge deli and salad bar. Love Kroger!!!!
Very pleasant atmosphere first time in the store. Employees very friendly and helpful. So much to look at I was like a kid in a candy store!Cant say the same for gas station not friendly not the first time at this station. Attendant didnt want to give change for air pump told my husband to go to carwash down the road! Im sure others have had better experiences.
I had one additional bag of groceries that was not mine when I return to my vehicle that Linda R the cashier put in my basket. I returned that bag of groceries to Linda but she made me wait until she checked out two people and then responded that I needed to take them to customer service. When I objected she said that she would take the bag as if she was doing me a favor. Would you like to guess what I will do the next time? I was not very happy with this shopping experience.
1. The salad & hot bars are not well stocked or maintained.2. This Kroger has lots of space but stocks very little top brand name products. As long as you like Kroger brands you will be happy.3. The Starbucks here is terrible.4. Customer service in all departments is par, some employees have it some dont.5. The Produce area does have a fair variety for the relative small area given compared to the other departments.6. The deli and bakery have plenty of space but limited stock.7. The prices are a little higher over all than most of the other grocery stores in Christiansburg.
I like my Kroger. They usually have everything I need. Prices are reasonable in todays times.. Their pharmacy needs improving. I have had many prescriptions misplaced and wrong doctors faxed for refills..
Very large and nice store with almost every item that you could possibly want and you can order online and pickup later and it will be ready for the employees to load in your car...Highly recommended..!
Good store, huge selection. My only complaint is that this store gets a lot of traffic and many times we find that they are out of stock of items we buy. Great store overall.
Single worst experience as a consumer I have ever had. Due to issues at check out, I asked 2 different employees to speak with a manager. One employee indicated there was no manager, and the other explained the manager could not help me anyway. If I ran this store, 4 people would have been fired tonight. The 2 incompetent clerks, the duty manager and the store manager. The store stocking was a mess, at east two aisle signs were wrong and 2 items did not can the correct price.When. I was in the store last week, I could not find an item and the sales person told me to look it up on the app. I was using the app and it showed the item in the wrong aisle, thats what I was looking for help with. With a little luck, maybe this store will go out of business.
Great deals, especially if you use the Kroger app and digital coupons. We do most of our shopping here. The Kroger brand is just as good as other name brands as well. Construction going on right now is a bit of a hassle, but the place will look nice when its all finished.
New remodeled store with Boars head. Also if your up for a pizza theres a nice BBQ chicken I had. Taste
They have the freshest fruits and vegetables of anywhere. Good meats. Just about anything that you want, they have it.
The produce and meat are of good quality. There is a wide variety of products to purchase and there is a reasonably sized area in the store for purchasing pots and pans and plates. The employees are helpful and friendly.
Great. They will be doubling in size to become the largest Kroger in America next year. They have a great fresh selection and are close by. Prices are good too. I was once at a Whole Foods that had a floor plan that was too crowded; that was a bit uncomfortable, bumbling around into everyone. This is not yet as spacious as the one on Blacksburg, South Main Street, but it is still well designed and well stocked.
Theyre clearly going through some renovations right now. On my first visit, our bagger dropped most of our produce and oddly used one bag for each item we purchased. I think we ended up with something like 30 or 40 bags. Weve been back since and the checkout was much better. Probably just a fluke.
I love that they introduced ClickList. I often am forced to do my shopping at peak hours and the store can be a bit chaotic with hundreds of customers clicking their hooves on the tile floor in every direction. I like being able to just order online and skip the cacophony.
Not crowded. In and out quickly. Polite cashier.
Store needed to cull produce....red peppers and Roma tomatoes. Store had lots of use of grocery carts for freight.. thought carts were for customers.....Justin in Meat was very helpful and one of the few reasons I shop here
Clean, good produce section, reasonable international foods selection. As grocery stores go its nothing spectacular but, for the area its great. If you need more selection youre driving to Blacksburg.
Great store, no Scan and go so I dropped it a star. The meat section (beef /pork) needs to move... too crowded...the angled section is too small.
Impressed with the variety and choices. Love their Sushi bar to go and their Bistro area.
Great location, parking isn’t horrible, very friendly staff, great food selection, very clean store. Even has a Starbucks inside. Along with a diner type Kroger restaurant inside! You could honestly spend hours here!
Store is ok. Bagger put 3 gallons of milk and juice in same bag. Dropped it on my toe. Not his fault. Did ask him to let me bag my groceries tho. Store layout is confusing. Good luck finding what your looking for if you are new to the area. Staff is nice.
Great and convient store, I go almost daily 🤗 great service.
I bought 2 salads to go. They were only $3.70 a piece. Delicious salad with veggies, fruit, and eggs! Perfect!
Went in to get some wine. Rebecca, the wine manager, was helpful as usual. She told me about the upcoming case sale. Good selection, esp for bottles in the $5 - $20 range.
I find everything I need and more here. Very good prices on things that I eat and im very picky. Large variety always clean and very easy to find.. Thank u Kroger.
The new remodel has greatly improved this place. There is so much variety and the selections are great.
Awesome folks and totally awesome selection. Always has a, great selection of my favorite spices.
I would have give 5 stars but Karen was in my way.
No complaints. Love the family bathroom with changing table and baby/toddler holder!
Nice since the remodel, would give it four or five stars but I have tried to get dinner there three times now and the food bar/salad bar was empty around dinner time. I have heard the food is good, would like to be able to try it.
Staff very helpful! Great meat and seafood department! Weekly specials that can even beat Wal-Mart prices!
Now that the renovations are complete, this store is great. It has so much more in most of the departments, like the cheese counter.
At first i didnt like the new renovations but now that ive learned my way around and were things are I love the new store and new variety of items.this store is amazing and has anything and everything u can imagine. We will definitely return time and time again. And the prices are great they run excellent sales weekly
Always a great place to shop with friendly people and a clean and modern appearance!
The employees are always helpful and friendly. Everything is easy to find. Produce is fresh.
Great selection is the only reason to go. Its crowded; theres too much extra stuff in the aisles. Shelves are often bare of basic staples. Self-checkouts are obnoxiously unfriendly. (I dont mean the staff; theyre just tired of the same obnoxious system; I empathize with them.) And going through the regular line gets you about 2 items in a bag.
Beautiful store. Super clean. Wish I had a grocery store near me like this.
Pharmacy was helpful and courteous even though extremely busy. Better stocked than earlier in week following the snow storm.
Always enjoy this Krogers. Very clean, friendly people. The bagger just needs to remember not to put chemicals in with food.. And double bag heavy bags..
Love the updates. The staff working the front isnt very friendly. Most stand around and talk instead of bagging. I had to jump in to bag an elderly ladys groceries who was struggling to do it herself since the bag girl was too busy showing another employee something on her phone. I prefer to drive to Blacksburg kroger on main st. They are friendly and very helpful.
Their produce is questionable at best triple check before buying. The place smells pretty awful from the fried chicken they make, Im guessing old oil. Never seems to be anyone in any isle to help. Theyre doing a remodel but who cares if they dont fix the other stuff. I wish there was a closer grocery store of this size. The florist on the other hand is amazing. She is very friendly, makes great arrangements that my wife loves that last a very long time. Very fresh
Its my preferred place to shop, sometimes you will pay more but its worth it in my opinion. The building was recently renovated and it turned out great!! A+
I prefer to drive to blacksburg if I go to Kroger. Employees are clearly not happy, and it is reflected in their service. Not friendly, not helpful. Not sure it is worth they renovations they are doing.
Fantastic new layout for the store. The new salad/food bar is delicious and a great deal!
Wonderful selection of fresh produce and meat. Love the deli prepared meals.
My wife is gluten intolerant. They have several options available for her diet. Good prices. Good selection. My go-to grocery shopping store.
A fabulous groceries store. Many new features and makes shopping for food enjoyable.
This store is going to take a lot of getting used to. They no longer have an Organic Section, which I miss. This store is an enormous size and takes a lot of time to walk through it, looking for what you need. Some of the items that they used to carry, are no longer there and unavailable. A few of the employees dont speak, smile or welcome youre presence there. I end up having to go elsewhere to get some of the things that they used to carry, that are no longer available now. You would think with such a big store that they would have everything that they once did, but thats not the case with this store.
Not very professional... many employees on cell phones... baggers dont listen to simply requests... baggers mix cold with non cold and fruits/veggies with cans... out of many products on the shelf.
Im not sure what happened to social distancing, but it wasnt there today. And probably not even 50% of customers were wearing masks
