Still standing after all these years. A must stop for any dance music record collector. Solid selection of new tracks and a used section with many buried treasures for those that dig deep! Love this store.

This place was awesome! The record selection was wide and high quality. They also had a great selection of slip mats. Scored some cool glow in the dark black and white ones. Also got the Pac Man duo. The employee really knew his stuff as well! Cant wait to go back!

Been shopping here weekly since April 2021. Came in 9-28 and wanted to buy 3 records which totaled under 5 bucks. Guy at the register told me that they have a limit of 5 dollars if I wanted to pay with a card. I have never been told this or saw a sign which reflected that and I asked if he could be kind enough to ring me up today and next time I will be aware of the recent change in their payment policy. His response was that it wasnt a change in policy but rather a rule they recently started to enforce. At which point, I took the only bill I had which was a 100 and I asked if they could change it so I can pay. His literal response was its ridiculous to change a 100 for 3 dollars worth of records. So it appeared that ringing up records under 5 dollars was too much trouble and changing my 100 was also too much of an issue. I put the records back and ended up leaving. Not sure why or when they started to treat their customers this way but no need to return.

Don’t get me wrong they have an awesome selection of music and the service is great . But they never open on time I mean never . I come from the far south to get in and out before traffic builds up and rush hour starts. They say 12 pm opening more like 1:30 2:00 .

Back days, records mixing made many of us euphoric. Peaceful headphone sampling and searching for new vinyls on the wall was phenomenal. Vibe works from UK, US, Europe, and whole world, what a journey it was. These days, things are little bit different but Im sure few still understands static.Love to the music, remains the same...Happy New Year

Just an amazing, one-of-a-kind store. Filled with vinyl records from the 1990s and 2000s and beyond. Its an old school electronic music vibe here, and you can go crate digging for techno, house, dubstep, trance, Chicago house, and much more. They also have a good selection of records from other genres like hip-hop, rock n roll, disco, etc.It can be a bit intimidating your first time there because of the sheer volume of records, many of which are by artists youve never heard of. But thats half of the fun - its a great place to spend hours looking for songs/artists/labels you love and finding gems. Theres listening stations for records too, so you can sample them before you buy.An authentic record store experience since 1969...full of history and good vibes. Many of the records here have old price tags from years past, and theyve returned home to Gramaphone to find a new owner. If you love music, your mind will be blown. Ive never seen anything like it.

One of the very few places I miss about Chicago. Plus they have listening stations. That isnt always the case at other record stores. At most times you gotta dig, dig and dig some more to find the stuff you like and if you give yourself enough time youll walk out with some good, or even great finds. Hit the used sections first and go from there.

He took the time to look in the back for a few records I was looking for (no dice, but he looked!).He also took time to give me and many other customers recommendations on records, going as far to play them over the sound system.10/10, Ill definitely be coming back.

Awful service. My nieces and I came into the store and no associate was present. Amazing collection of obscure, old classics, and groundbreaking music. A couple years back I purchased its album time Todd Terje. Go out and buy listen to it!Anyways being a huge house fan, and being in chicago, I naturally asked if someone could point me I the right direction. The thin haired man at the counter looked at semi disheveled kid, that looked no older than I (23). Immediately he dropped what he was doing and started dropping knowledge and asking questions I didnt necessarily know all the answers too. I told him to pick a couple random slappers and he obliged.I then asked about the local house scene and was more than happy to enlighten me on the beat venues, who to look out for, etc. A DJ was spinning in the shop so we grooved for a minute before asking a question I kind of think I knew the answer tilo. Asked him if he got down, says yea, here and there :) my name Is Garret David, he humbly admits.Anyways other than helping me and being a really chill dude, this guys music is OG chicago house ready to be heard by the masses. I will be purchasing several vinyls shortly! Will be back for sure!
