I didnt eat anything this day but there food so dont know maybe food the dishes I bought ?? But Ive been in the washroom all night ..
Excellent Pad Kee Mao vegetarian. Also available with chicken or shrimp. Egg roll and shrimp dumplings good too! Quick service in a casual setting. Conveniently located just a block from Harrison station.
Very cute little restaurant. Great for a quiet dinner. Service was excellent and efficient. Our waiter gave great insight on the menu. Very decently priced for the city! Would recommend to everyone!!
If you are looking for good Thai food without any bells and whistles .. this is the place to go.. authentic food.. authentic taste.. good portion size and fast service.. I read all the reviews and tried this place and must say this is definitely a place to try if you are fond of thai food.. keep up the good work Amarit Thai restaurant
Dishes are way smaller than other places I been to of the same cuisine. Food is decent tasting but not spectacular, okay place if you’re hungry and there’s better else around. Orange chicken is not like regular orange chicken at other places.
Found this place randomly while visiting the city. Im sure the food is good, but thats not why Im giving it a 5 star review. Its getting a 5 star review solely for letting me duck in and use the bathroom after the Chicago Marathon, when more than a few places bathrooms were conveniently out of service.
Visited this place while in Chicago with family. The restaurant was close to our hotel and was recommended by the hotel staff. We were pleasantly surprised by the food and the prices. Everything was very good. All four of us had something different and we were all very happy with our choice. Definitely a place to check out for cheap and delicious Thai food!
Amarit Thai means dangling leg! Me and 5 others came pretty late, around 9:30pm on a Sunday night, and it was still super busy. We parked in the small lot in the back but beware... its Hollywood so parking is terrible.Ugh, I wish I could give this place 3 stars cause the food was delicious but we found a piece of metal in one of our dishes and thats really not ok... also my friends said there was no pineapple in the pineapple fried rice that we ordered but to be honest I was so hungry I had finished my fried rice before noticing anything.
I enjoyed my time here and my server was great!I wasn’t super jazzed about anything I got though. I got the yellow curry and it wasn’t as good as some other places I’ve had it.Hoping to go again and try something else!
Called ahead to place order, the lady was a bit rude and short with me but I guess she could have been busy. I ordered a noddle dish and an order of egg rolls. She said it would take 30-45 min. I was surprised it took that long and repeated the length of time to be sure I heard correctly. She then changed the time to 25 min and then to 20..not sure what that was about. I arrive to pick up my order and she was really pushy getting me to pay, I asked how much longer it would be and she said she didnt know and just asked me to pay. Someone in the back overheard me ask and went to check and came back out with my food immediately. Seems like the lady was just overwhelmed and didnt handle it well. Other than the strange off-putting lady the food was really good. Definitely great noodles, good portions. Price wise was up there, just those 2 items were $22 which was a bit steep in my opinion but given the location of the place I guess it should be expected.
One of the best Thai restaurants I visited in the recent times. Amazing food, ambience was great & Service was fast. We Ordered shrimp in blanket, spring rolls, Tomka soup & cashew chicken. Everything came out good. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in Chicago downtown.
Solid place for pan-asian foods, the sushi rolls were decent. Maybe not the fanciest thai place around, but great for a bite out, or take out. Dine-in menus are accessed through a QR code or the website.
Friendly staff and good service. Enjoyed the massaman curry and pad thai. Sushi was average. Will definitely be back.
I order pad Thai here all the time, it’s always hit or miss. One time it will be great and the next time it will be completely flavorless. No consistency with pad Thai. That’s all I really eat there so I can’t speak to anything else.
The food was descent, but not extraordinary. Few things to remember before you go to this restaurant-1. BYOP: Bring your own plates2. Ask the waiter to ask you about spice level of the food3. Ask the waiter to ask you about how the food was
Had the Tom Yum soup, fried gyoza, and pineapple fried rice. The waitress was very helpful and pleasant. I didnt fancy my fried rice so much but I did like the portion size. The soup and gyoza was delicious
Dynamite Roll was awful and smelled and looked like a can of tuna catfood was placed on top of it (see photo). I guess fresh sliced tuna isnt available here? Ive never seen shredded tuna on sushi before, probably for a reason. Ordered egg rolls, received all veggies and nothing else. Beef pad thai wasnt good and had mostly tofu and hardly any beef, and chicken fried rice was really dry. There are too many other options than to eat here.
Great basics — especially the chicken rice soup!
Had lunch here for work one day, so much good food
This restaurant is well organized and artistically modern. The environment is calming and the employees from my experience are well trained, kind and respectful.I rarely eat sushi but when I do I always feel satisfied, so I decided to order the “Crunchy Spicy Tuna Roll” and it was good as expected.I recommend Amarit Thai and Sushi to city locals and travelers.
Great sushi - Sakura roll was fabulous. Good Thai tea and the lychee boba slushy was made with real lychee fruit - saw the tiny pieces so flavor was perfect, not artificial. Pad Thai was also good but they didnt have limes for theThai food. Exceptional service, clean and attractive establishment. On a quaint tree-lined city street offering an interesting people-watching opportunity if dining alone.
Thai food, yeah, delicious. Service is always awesome even when they have a full house. Ive had nothing but pleasant experiences here and plan to keep coming back. This place has a good design.
Good Thai dining experience. Have been patronizing for years even before name and ownership change. My favorite chicken Rama. If you enjoy rice, order extra as servings with entree are usually sparse. Maybe business model should be adjusted.Pleasing decor. Paid parking across the street from restaurant.
I came here for sushi late one night and it was really good. It’s a small place but the staff was friendly.
I placed an order through Rival for Amarit Thai. I got the Crunchy Gomae Roll and Veggie Egg Rolls. The pickup was great. I didnt really get to interact with the staff much, but I loved how quickly they moved when I walked in. The presentation for this carryout order was on a whole. Different. Level. It was beautiful! Honestly, though, the taste was only ok. Id possibly return again on a very hungry day.
The Massaman curry was very nice. The chicken had a great texture and flavor, and the curry itself had a delicious, toasted peanut flavor. My only complaint is it could have been spicier! I ordered it extra hot, maybe Ill try extra extra hot next time?
Good place for tasty Thai food. Entered near nine, it wasnt busy. I will probably become a regular. Menu is similar to a restaurant in Jacksonville I liked.
This place has gone downhill
Thai food... my favorite treat. i often meet people here to talk. looking forward to going back again. the prices are good for what you get. makes me feel like i in nashville again.
Love the food here, my favorite being the pineapple fried rice which has shrimp and chicken. They cut a pineapple in half and then serve the food in it.Even the pick up service is good and they do follow any additional instructions
We met with friends at this place for lunch. This spot was recommended to us by a friend. Well, we were not disappointed. The crew welcomed us with a smile and we felt good. The food was just great. We loved this restaurant a lot and we shall absolutely come back again. Highly recommended.
I would not willing eat this food again. My husband completely agrees. Its perfectly normal to occasionally encounter small pieces of herbal components in Thai food, but there were very large inedible chunks of lemongrass, roots, and other unidentifiable woody things. Where was the ginger? I dont know. They used lemons instead of limes which contributed to what I can only describe as an overall unpleasant flavor profile that was present in every dish. Very disappointing.
Very good Thai food and not expensive 👍
Portions are big, food was delicious. Highly recommend.
This place seems to be most popular with a work/lunch crowd. Its tastefully arranged and not too loud or crowded. The service is exceptionally attentive and theres quite a broad variety of choices. I prefer spicy Thai, and have found they will adjust the heat levels upon request.
Although the staff are very competent, the menu items are well chosen and the decor is quite pleasant the incredibly heavy use of salt ruined the meal. My Korean dinner companion, who is well accustomed to fairly salty food, was also unhappy. The soups were the worst. They were salted to the point that the taste of lemongrass and ginger were obliterated. The entrees were similarly heavily salted, blotting out all other flavours . My co-workers have commented on this point, but I thought I would try it out anyway. Sadly, not going back.
This site is my preferable place. Of all restaurants I know I prefere it most. I always suggests to my friends to go to visit this restaurant. when I feel like having a proper dinner, this is the place that comes first to my head. very good and many types of food and a rich menu.well mannered staff members, and nice ambience. Not less important, the cost is affordable. I sent my friends to this restaurant with no doubt.
I take my family to this nice place often! This is my favorite place to eat. I go there frequently. The food is excellent, the staff is professional and the prices are affordable. I enjoy being in this spot for a nice lunch.
Great Thai food! Highly recommend the beef fried rice and the pad kee mao.
This place simply knows how to treat their customers. Regularly with a super friendly attitude. The food is fairly priced, regularly delicious and neat.
IMO, probably the best place for Thai food in the Loop. Great classic thai dishes like pad thai, pad see ew, massaman curry, etc.
I walk in and it seems pretty busy, however I was seated immediately and given a menu, a glass of water, and plenty of time to sort through my menu indecisiveness. I got the ginger chicken which was delicious with bold ginger and onion flavor with punches of pepper. To end my meal, I got the iced Thai bubble tea, which was a beautiful drink that felt almost like having thai tea flavored ice cream with pops of the tapioca spheres. The wait staff were super attentive despite a busy Saturday.
The place offers a large variety of delicious food. I liked eating here. Staff members are always very kind, pricing is convenient and the spot is always clean.
Ive been working in the area for 5 years and consistently pick this for lunch. Ive never had anything bad off of the noodle or entree menu. My favorites are pineapple friend rice, pad see ew, and pepper steak. They are all large portions for a good price. The servers are fast and attentive. Ive had the sushi a few times and is also really good.
The food is regularly fresh and yummy, cashiers gives good service. I like how clean it is and ambience. I highly recommend this spot.
The menu and service were above our expectations. I really loved the ambience of this spot. Excellent spot to take the family out for dinner.
Every bite was delicious and the service was wonderful. We all had something different and everyone was pleased with their choices.Thank Amarit Thai for a lovely evening.
Good Thai food. The four of us had a variety of dishes: spicy beef (watch the chili sauce as it builds) which was tender and flavorful; tom yum soup which was flavorful and NOT sweet; lemon grass seafood soup (decent price peformance, all seafood was good); ginger chicken (much too sweet and good flavors); and tasty mild yellow curry; with all three flavors of ice cream (really quite good). Price was excellent for Chicago for such food.
The food is always fresh and tasty, employees hands over great customer service. I really like how clean it is and mood. I highly recommend this spot.
Delicious food, I got the Spicy chicken curry and the Spider roll. Food was delivered within 30 mins
Awesome variety of foods, nice place and the staffs are very friendly.
Delicious squash curry. Big portions appropriate for the price. Restaurant was a bit loud but it was crowded. The staff were attentive and the good came out quickly. It was a great experience just wished I lived close by to eat there more often.
Let me start off by saying I am obsessed with peanut sauce. I always order the same things from Thai restaurants to get an idea of the quality of food Im in store for and thats a chicken pad thai with peanut sauce, chicken satay (and peanut sauce), and/or spring rolls. Amarit checks all the boxes and has some of the best flavoring from most places Ive tried! This is always a great walkable lunch spot to grab food to go for me when Im working downtown. I havent had the pleasure of sitting down to eat, but the atmosphere during my visits has always seemed professional and comfortable.Dont skip by this place, enjoy a bite!
Ive ordered like a dozen of their items and theyre all so good. My favorite is the pad see ewe. I could eat here every day tbh🔥💯
Great dinner for 5. We enjoyed our dinner immensely. We had the chicken satay, pot stickers, shrimp wonton and chicken noodle soups for appetizers and they were all good. For mains we had chicken fried rice, Amarit special and a couple sushi rolls. Again every thing was prepared well. Service was attentive and friendly. We all enjoyed our meal.
Menu is pretty long. I had the pad thai, which was decent, but a tad too sweet. One of my friends had the chicken curry, and he said it was pretty good. The ambience is pretty casual. Also could be a good place to bring your special someone, if they are into thai cuisine.
Excellent location for delicious thai food. It was so fresh. The staff was very welcoming and observant. The bill was appropriate.
Great service
I love Thai food and Amarit doesnt disappoint. All the classic dishes and drinks to go with them. Friendly staff and charming atmosphere.
The food is definitely of Asian flavor, taste and look however I wouldnt call it strictly Thai only Asian cuisine. Service is fast, food tastes great, and is not greasy but well cooked and isnt overflown with gravy. The interior design is rather ascetic. It is worth trying.
The staff was very friendly and the food was quick and tasty. A lovely atmosphere for a date and the staff doesnt linger, but is always around when you need something so perfect service. And the location is nice, right in the middle of the loop so I dont have to go out of my way to go there. Well be going again!
Inventive Thai restaurant with an Asian fusion menu, including sushi, with very nice ambience in the South Loop. Usually not crowded, which is a super benefit when you cant get into better-known restaurants. Prices are also reasonable; we paid $200 for a party of 6, with some people drinking alcohol.
Amarit is a solid restaurant - cool if you just want a quick Asian meal, but I wouldnt say that its culinary greatness. I usually get the same thing every time - Mongolian Chicken, Veggie Egg Rolls, Brown Rice, and Steamed Veggies. The yellow curry chicken is tasty as well. They are very fast at processing your order. The restaurant is pretty big, but all the seats usually arent filled. Good solid food if you are looking for quick Thai.
The employees are rude and the restaurant is dirty. Do you still want to eat here? With so many good food options in Chicago, theres no need to waste your time and money dining at Amarit.
You wouldnt think their sushi would be fantastic but it is. We have had tons of sushi places and their signature rolls are unique enough and well executed. We have had a few other dishes from them but they did not wow us like the sushi. With a coupon their sushi is one of the best values in the city
I wish I could give it zero stars. The food tasted rushed and the chicken was somewhat spoiled. I barely touched my food. The service was even worst. A server didn’t come by for quite some time after we sat down with hardly any other customers in the restaurant. Seems like they were more concerned with the to go orders rather than their physical customers. When I asked if I could split the ice cream half and half, the guy waiter asked the lady (must have been the manger) and she quickly responded NO with a harsh attitude. Then to top it all off, she came by the table (they never came by once during our meal and asked if everything was ok) and scolded my boyfriend for leaving less than a 10% tip. If it were up to me I would have left nothing! One of the worst restaurants and experience in the south loop. There’s no wonder this place was empty!
A favorite place for delicious thai food. i love this place, excellent food & service. the service was very helpful and observant. the place has an awesome atmosphere.
Great place! The staff were very friendly and the food was fantastic
Good place. The staff was nice, I even overheard one of the servers recall what a regular customer usually orders. The customer was impressed! Pad Thai was average and I dont particularly care for the large chunks of Tofu they put in it. However, after adding the tables chili sauce, the dish was a solid choice.
Good food and prices arent outrageous. Sapparo on tap is really good
Just wonderful food from beginning to end. Nice staff. Close enough to theaters and shopping to walk there.
Great food and friendly staff. Have been going there for years. You should definitely try it.
Chicken Pad Thai is my favorite however here it was awful. After being served, the waitress never came and asked how things tasted. I had to flag her down to ask if there was some sauce or something I could put on it as it was very dry. She told me yes but it would cost $3 for peanut sauce. I asked her if I could have the sauce they put on the Pad Thai and was told I could only order extra peanut sauce. So I told her ok as it didnt taste good the way it was. She then gave me a bad tasting peanut sauce. They could see I didnt eat any of it but didnt care. This was the worst Thai place I have ever eaten at and the worst service I have ever received. I would never recommend this restaurant.
Fantastic and delightful food, I loved the atmosphere the place has, and the employees were kind. I will surely visit here next time.
Just came here for a conference and tried to find Thai food close to the hotel. I love it! Im Thai and craving for spicy food all the times. They make great Tom Yum soup (I told them make it spicy and flavorful and I got beyond my expectation). I usually stereotype Thai restaurants here that they always Americanize Thai food. This place has kicked my assumption away.
Been here three or four times and the first time the food was great but I left thinking the restaurant itself was dirty. Gone back four or five times and its still just as dirty but the food is not good at all. Wanted to like this place but I just cant bring myself to.
Service was terrible and food was just ok. Had shrimp pad Thai. It was way too sweet. Shrimp fried rice was nice. Our server was incredibly rude and dismissive to my guest who had an accent. Apparently because of my guests accent, the server refused to talk to her directly. My guest also paid but the server brought the card back to me. If you have to go here, get the good to go.
Good, local Thai spot. The portions are huge, especially on the pad Thai, and will leave you with lots of leftovers. Take out is just as good as dining in, and always tastes fresh. Tom yum soup is amazing!
It was a slow night, and my family had a wonderful meal. Very attentive staff. Four entrees, and four winners! Great prices for the quality.
I do not care ABOUT what other people have said, but the service was AMAZING. They are very friendly, the food tastes excellent as well the prices are affordable. Would recommend to anyone just visiting or living here in the beautiful city of Chicago.
