I feel like the 5 star rating is heavily overused. This is one of the few places I feel truly deserves five stars. All of the entrees we tried were incredible. I had the fried chicken Sammie and the sauce combination they go with is perfect. Their hot sauce compliments the chicken very well and the ingredients used felt very high quality. The French toast was also phenomenal. I’m not sure how they do it but they managed to put an egg in there ?! Plus topping it with chicken was a smart idea.I also got the sleepy hollow cocktail which was stronger than I anticipated, but still decent. The French fries were okay - wouldn’t get again. Feel like they could have been much better if they were fresher but they came out a little soggy and luke warm.

We ordered the French toast and the little pig went to China.I think ‘too much going on’ is a good description for the food.French toast it self is a 8/10, the BBQ maple syrup is 9/10, Chicken 7/10, the over easy egg in it is 6/10. I would leave an 8/10 review if it’s only two of them together, but all of them together, which way should I feel? My taste bud got confused. My husband’s biscuit is the same, biscuit itself 9/10, sausage 8/10, egg 8/10, two sauces 6/10. I get the Asian flavor in this dish, it’s creative and it tastes good, but both American flavor and Chinese flavor in a biscuit? Biscuit even didn’t sign up for these much lol. It’s good to see they are working hard on the food, but being simple doesn’t necessarily mean bad, it will show all the ingredients themselves.

This place blew my mind. Cute name. Fun design. Great service. Awesome music. Fantastic food. I had the Bullseye French Toast (two people could easily split this), my partner had This Little Piggy Went To China and we split a side of hash browns and bacon. The hash browns were on another level - shoe string style with a layer of melted cheese on the bottom. The bacon was prepared to extra crispy perfection, as requested. The cherries on top were the delicious mimosas. We loved it so much, we went back a couple days later. Also, if youre a dog person, the patio is a fantastic spot for dog watching!

We were in town and stumbled across Little Goat. We had to wait about and hour to get a table but it was well worth the wait. I had the chickpea salad and my daughter had the paratha burrito. Our fantastic and funny server Carl(with a C not a K) recommended a Bee’s Knees and it was a perfect compliment to my salad

Even with a reservation, we still had to wait for our table. Which would have been understandable...had the restaurant not been next to empty! Service was slow to start, very slow. The gal who finally brought water was not the friendliest, so I was pleased to learn she wasnt our server. Everything is a la carte. We started with the Crab Dip, which was okay, but nothing special. The Patty Melt, at $16, was completely underwhelming & greasy. And that was it, nothing else served with it, not even a garnish. Dessert was probably the saving grace; the ice cream cake with Strawberry Quick & Goat Tracks (which our server kept referring to as Moose Tracks ) flavors. Glad to have tried this, I really admire Stephanie Izard, but no need to rush back.

The food never disappoints here, from a full brunch to a quick lunch date Ive enjoyed every meal here. My favorites is definitely the fried chicken sandwich and the mac and cheese is always great. Service can be a bit hit or miss but never in a bad way if that makes sense. Usually they are just so busy that a server might take a little longer than usual to come check up on you or bring your drinks a bit late. Theyre still great and I cant fault them too badly.

Dontcha know its Good Karma to leave a 5 🌟 review for excellent service, delicious food, huge portions and a beautiful atmosphere?I received all of the above and I havent been here in ages and so happy I chose to enjoy a decadent lunch this afternoon during an unusually warm September Chicago day. They have a beautiful outside porch with elegant tables and settings. The servers here were extremely attentive and there were many interesting options on the menu to choose from.I chose a super delicious and healthy kale chickpea salad 🥗 with fried falafel balls, deep fried onions, and Greek tzatziki 🥒 sauce. The salad was creative, colorful and served in a gigantic bowl. This was by far the tastiest kale salad Ive ever eaten! All the menu items range from breakfast to lunch options like hamburgers 🍔 rueben sandwiches, crispy chocolate chip 🥞pancakes 🥞 bulls eye French toast, fries, eggs, iced chai, tempting desserts and decadent milkshakes. My server Ray knew all the items on the menu and was extremely helpful so I received quick service and was allowed to take my sweet time with my meal. This is the perfect spot for a laid back breakfast or lunch in the heart ♥️ of the west loop ♥

The dinner version of The Girl and the Goat. The food is good but so are most of the other places in west loop. We always look for the uniqueness of a joint, atmosphere and menu offerings. To try this out, we ordered some of the standard and some unique items. The French toast with fried chicken strips, it is ok, nothing special taste wise, nothing compared to some old school chicken and waffles. However the egg in the middle was a little surprising. Then there is the Okonomiyaki, which is a pretty famous Japanese dish, basically like a large thick pancake mixed in with cabbage, egg, and whatever other ingredients you desire, meat, seafood, and topped with some bonito flakes if needed, a savory sauce and Mayo drizzled over it to serve. I have had the originals in Japan and some authentic ones here. The version that I have had here was very disappointing, the batter had nothing mixed in it, so literally a pan cake. Everything else’s was just dumped on top like a pizza, a little tempura flakes. I would strongly suggest the restaurant to remove it from the menu or call it something else. This is the same feeling when I first saw McDonald’s in China serving burgers with rice patties as buns. It is just not right!I forgot about the appetizer, crab dip, the taste is good, but I didn’t see any crab (like you would in a crab cake). So if it was all crab, it was a purée, but why puréed it? This is not French, it is a diner! I want to feel the texture when I dip in it with those ritz crackers!

If rating the food like Roger Ebert rates films - this might be a 4 or 5 star place. I think they execute really well on what they intend to do.But its kind of like a gourmet diner. All the dishes are a little over the top. And I usually appreciate something different...The only things that didnt have a twist were the toast and coffee - both of which were quite good. But everything else just seemed like it was different for the sake of it - not that it was actually a twist that paired well or made sense - or at least thats how it tasted to me.The French Toast - for example - with BBQ sauce was possibly the worst french toast Ive ever had.

Such unique flavors and dishes! Each classic breakfast dish had a twist which makes it fun to order.Little Piggy: very scallion-forward. Wish there were a few more blueberries to balance the salty/savory/spicy flavors. Schezuan sausage patty was a firecracker of flavor and that biscuit was delicious! Probably would not get it again though, too much scallion and almost too much flavor (cannot focus on what you’re tasting)French toast: mmmm, delicious! Had an egg *inside* the brioche bread! And the chicken was great. This was a good twist on classic chicken and waffles style brunch.Hash browns: yummmmm. Nothing more to say there except I don’t regret anything. For hash brown connoisseurs, this one was shredded, crispy on the outside, but softer/potatoey on the inside, kind of omelette/heap shaped and mixed with some random bits of cheese per the menu (didn’t really taste the cheese).Need to come back and try more dishes! Also, really attentive servers. I inquired about ordering from Sugargoat and she popped over and got me a French Fry Pie and held it in the back till we finished!

Okay, fine but to our surprise there were tons of vacant seats the entire time we were there, so dont know what that was all about. Service was slow to start and we were all dieing of thirst. After a bit of a wait I had to stop someone to ask for water. She comes back with a carafe and it was horribly warm. Had to ask for some ice. She said thats how it always comes (?). Anyway, our server finally shows and was pleasant and helpful. I ordered the biscuit and gravy (yes one single, large biscuit) it was pretty dry and the small amount of gravy didnt make up for it. Gravy had a strange seasoning in it I couldnt quite put my finger on, but it was edible just odd. My friend had the patty melt she said was excellent and the other had the ruben, which I had a bite of. It too was tasty. We also had some smoky fries which I didnt really care for, but probably just personal preference there. The only thing that saved the day was a delicious ice cream cake. It has strawberry Kwik ice cream and was also salted, so a really interesting combo. On the pricy side so wont be back any time soon, but glad to say we tried it.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, only outdoor dining was available with numerous restrictions. Restrictions were clearly posted to protect both diners and restaurant staff. Having stated that, outdoor tables were spaced well and the weather was beautiful (73 degrees in Chicago on Nov 6), so the place was busy. Joan was our server and was just awesome... professional, friendly (and always smiling behind that mask!), knowledgeable about daily specials available, and just made our dining experience today truly enjoyable. All of the support team was also great to keep things tidy and moving along. We had Korean Chicken Tacos, the Saltado Style Burger, and a few Pinot Noirs (Friday lunch, of course). I had an overall good experience at Little Goat Diner. You will probably want to make reservations - I walked in on a Friday afternoon for lunch and it was over a 45 minute wait. No problem, I took a walk around the area and stopped by Bombobar for dessert before lunch.Little Goat is airy and spacious inside. They also have patio seating, but given the 95 degree weather, I was grateful to be seated inside. Our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable but disappeared once food came out - we were unable to flag anyone down for an extra plate since we were sharing food so we ended up passing plates back and forth while eating. The waitress did reappear at the end of the meal to refill water.I ordered the Los Drowned sandwich, which is braised beef based. It was so delicious - the beef was fall-apart tender and well balanced with the sandwich toppings. Its served a la carte - any sides are an additional charge. I found it to be a little pricey for what you get.In general, service could use a little work and wait times are very long. Food, however, is excellent and tasty, although a little overpriced. Not super, good and adequate. Food is a bit too salty to my taste. Service is good.

On our trip to Chicago, this was my favorite stop. I really enjoyed the food here. I decided to order the most outrageous thing on the menu, The Almighty Goat Burger. Usually, burgers that are like this try to do too much and at the end only deliver a mediocre experience. The Almighty Goat Burger though, was amazing. Each meat was flavorful and moist, and together, it was a flavor explosion. Recommend everything on their menu.

I love coming here and always bring our out of town guests in for brunch. I highly recommend reservations to cut down on the wait time. I like to try new items off the menu, but always find myself going back to This little piggy went to China along with the tempura mashed potatoes and and dirty chai latte to finish it off.The last two visits (out of 5) the service has been lacking-hence the 4 stars. Fortunately, since we are familiar with the restaurant, have had better experiences there and love the food so much, it doesnt deter us from returning. Always looking forward to going back.

Stephanie Izards diner was amazing. Less upscale than Girl and the Goat but food options are immense. We made reservations for a party of 12 and had a blast here. Food and service both amazing! French toast, nachos, burger were some of the things we got and they were delicious.

Nice spot! Went during Chicago Restaurant week, January 2020, and worth the trip. Price fixe menu, got to start with the Nosh Town platter- excellent! Wife had fish + chips and I had the butter chicken pot pie. We switched dishes and ended up liking what the other ordered.Finished with desert- chocolate silk over the mint sundae for us. The room is warm, ambiance relaxing, music awesome. Great might in hot loop!

What about tables - they are served great! Each dish looks decent. I wouldnt call the prices insanely high, considering that the quality of food at Little Goat is wonderful! Apart from the above, I would like to praise local desserts! Here are incredibly delicious cupcakes with caramel cream or peanut butter.
