Beautiful garden center. I went in with just a sense of where I wanted plants for my porch and the amazing crew helped pick out flowers and veggies to match the sun and space I had plus a great selection of medium to large sized containers for growing vegetables without a garden. Really beautiful plants in great condition and appreciated the push carts!

I love plants but have no creativity when it comes to arrangements. A staff member helped me pick out plants for my front porch pot- it turned out great! Plants are healthy and look lovely. Very reasonable prices as well.

The team was really helpful, the plant selection was out of this world, they even have their own soil mixes. The best part of their customer service was they hand you a push cart when you begin to shop so your hands are free. Highly recommend this place!

Passed by and decided to stop. I am thrilled I did so! Wonderful staff who took the time to chat with me, discussing what garden set up I had, how much soil to get, what plants would be best etc. Genuine *community* feel which is a great place to support. My daughter enjoyed playing with one staffs daughter and became fast buddies. Plan to go again for our summer plants. Bought salad and edible flowers today and managed to plant them all and set up garden bed for next Thursdays plant acquisition. Great quality and selection of diff plants. Very impressed!!!!

I went to City Grange searching for cuban oregano but found a lovely verillionaire Cuphea hybrid Large Firecracker Plant. A worker stated that this plant is great and would attract hummingbirds. To my amazement this morning a beautiful iridescent green hummingbird drank nectar from almost every blooming fire cracker. Thank you for this wonderful plant, great advice and heartfelt sighting.

Went to City Grange for the first time today and it was such a great experience! I had been curious about their houseplant selection in particular, and was happy to find a well curated and cared for selection of both common and rarer species. They also had a really nice selection of pots and other supplies! Prices were very reasonable and I ended up getting a (multi-leaf) variegated hoya kerrii that I’m super excited about for a much lower price than I’ve seen them sold for elsewhere. Staff were super friendly and helpful as well!! I will definitely be coming back!

Wonderful selection, they have a literal menu of soils and soil amendments for your garden, including indoor and container gardens. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly, and will go out of their way to help you get the right things.

Just stopped in for the first time to get my Christmas tree as I saw they had White Pines. Love supporting local independent businesses. Everyone was incredibly nice, helpful, and very cheerful.

Wonderful morning spent at City Grange. Everything is wonderfully curated by master gardeners - fresh, native, healthy, organic plants. (Many varieties that weve never seen before!) Beautiful fresh cut flowers and containers that will make you an Easter hero if you can bring your self to share vs. keep. Inside there are gardening tools, seeds, soil mixes, bee homes, gifties and more. We loved it!

City Grange have helped me and my neighbors weather this gawd awful pandemic beginning with gorgeous hydrangeas delivered for out front planters in April through stunning huge deep purple cabbages and peppers to see us through autumn into winter (the cabbages are still holding up even after todays freezing rain). Thanks to Joan Murphy and her team! All the best in 2021.

Cute garden center in what appears to have once been a service station, with a good variety of annuals, perennials, houseplants, and tools for the garden, but this late in the summer, plants were looking rather haggard. Staff was helpful and friendly.

Ordered delivery for the first time. Plants were in excellent shape. More plants than I expected, which was a nice surprise. The pre-selected pots and begonia grouping were super easy and pretty. I would have like more dragon wings in the bunch, which I requested, but didnt get, but not sure of availability. They are slightly more expensive, but I only order what I need instead of coming home from in person shopping with stuff I dont need. Highly recommend.

I had an awesome experience! The staff was very welcoming. For being a smaller garden center they really pack a punch with what they have to offer. Many varieties of Illinois natives, veggies, herbs, annuals, and ornamental perennials. Very impressive! If you are looking for something that is hard to find, they will have it!

Fantastic experience- they have a wide variety of really fun herb and flower varieties (MARSHMALLOW MINT!?!) on top of a great selection of the plants youd hope to find. Plants all looked healthy and have held up well in some neglected soil mixed with some compost also purchased there. Nice selection of natural fertilizers and garden bugs. The owner is a master gardener, shes super friendly so dont be afraid to ask questions!

This place is special. Its cute as heck, the staff are helpful and knowledgeable. The selection of edibles is really broad and the plants are super healthy. They offer free classes for beginners, too ! Theyre super committed to the community. I love it and Ill be back alot. My garden is thriving already._____We were back at City Grange on Western on June 14, 2020 and had another great experience. The layout is very responsible for social distancing, all staff wore masks, and the plant inventory was as fresh and plentiful as ever.

Who doesn’t love flowers- a gift shop- a mission! City Grange knows what it’s doing. Freedom carried all of my items to my car & was a delight to chat with. My new favorite garden center! Their edible plants are all organic, they carry many varieties of items such as lettuces, herbs and tomatoes that I havent seen elsewhere and their staff is beyond helpful and very knowledgeable. A welcome addition to the organic gardening scene in Chicago.

This is a locally-run enterprise, tucked away in plain sight right off of Western Ave. It is hard to find a better place to shop for plants/flowers/products, learn (if you want to), and be around genuinely kind people. The staff really seems to care about their products and patrons. You can feel it as soon as you walk in :)

Knowledgeable staff can help you and don’t make you feel bad for needing help. Employees also include many who are part of a youth job training program and they are eager to help and learn. City Grange is growing and should open their next location in Evanston soon.

This is a TRULY SPECTACULAR (sorry for shouting with excitement) local business supporting the urban gardener with expertise and efficiency. City Grange employs knowledgeable and enthusiastic employees. If they dont knowx then they will quickly find someone who does. No fake advice here! I mean, Im embarrassed to admit how many times Ive asked an employee at a big box store for advice or a specific gardening item, only to receive a shrug, blank stare, 15 min hunt for the gardening expert - or worse, a total lie.And for those of you who are a couple weeks late to start your veggie garden... HURRY!! Their veggie plants are BOGO with many unique varieties and I didnt see one sad looking seedling in the entire place! (No idea how long sale will last, but I was there Sunday June 09.)They also have tons pollinator friendly plants, beautiful herbs, very unique varieties, garden friendly insects, mulch, compost... the list of high quality plants and garden supplies to help you build the garden of your dreams goes on and on. Prices are reasonable and Im in awe of how much amazing stuff they have to offer in such a small space. You can be in an outing less than 10 min or can spend over 30 minutes checking nooks and crannies for amazing finds tucked away. Just go! You wont be disappointed.

It’s early and this is a new business, so this review is an early review which I plan to revise later. This is conveniently located, but the site itself has limited parking. Also this early in the season the selection of seeds is quite limited. I wish them well and I’ll be back when things pick up.

Friendly, knowledgeable, master gardeners run this locally owned gem. City Grange’s focus may be teaching people to grow their own food but they also have plants and beautiful florals that won’t break the bank.

Pricey, but definitly a welcome addtion to the neighbourhood. Would have gotten five stars, but the price is very high for some of their items. There are cheaper plant stores in the city. However, if youre in the area do stop by.
