I saw this activity on Groupon and made an appointment. I like that it was a small group making the wine so there was one on one help if needed. It was a great experience and the other people were all kind which made it even more enjoyable. We had to purchase the wine kit as it was not included in the Groupon, which was disclosed when I purchased Groupon. But it was more than I anticipated as we had purchased bottles and corks for bottling. We also never received call to come in to bottle like we were told. But overall that turned out not to be a problem. I just didnt want them to discard my wine. They were polite about helping me make needed appointment. The space is beautiful and can also be rented out which was the case each time we were there. I would do this again and now know what to expect. Ohh, and the wine tasted great! You get about 25-30 bottles! It was well worth it.
Stopped by to grab some home brew supplies and was so happy we found this place. Had everything we needed to make cider at home, and it was tucked away with a beautiful yard filled with flowers. Staff was friendly and helpful. We will definitely come back to try some mead and take classes. Businesses like this are few and far between these days.
Nice gem in the rough. Cant wait to go for tastings and wine making classes. Very nice yet low key establishment.
I received a gift for Christmas in 2018 for a free beer making class with the supplies included in the gift certificate. Upon registering, i found the code for the certificate already used and was unable to register successfully. After several emails going unanswered, I attempted to call several times but never reached anyone. I had the original purchaser go to the store to correct the error. She was told by the staff to have me just sign up without paying (?) and it would be honored. I signed up for a class but did not check out, two weeks before the class i received an email stating the teacher would be out of town. The email link to reschedule didnt even work. Their website is terrible and hard to navigate and the staff seems to discourage avid beer enthusiasts. I spent a year trying to resolve this and have simple given up.
Great local place. Our wine turned out spectacular!
Awesome wine class with Greg! Super knowledgeable! Thank you!
Great first experience. Very knowledgeable and helpful getting me set up for my first brewing experience.
All I am going to say is that my husband who is Italian and I loved this class. Informational. The teacher and owner was super friendly, funny, and helpful. And this class thought us a lot and we are confident that our wine will be fabulous. You would be a fool not to take this class. Additionally, there will be a new location, which sounds phenomenal. So check this out!
This place is a hidden gem! The ambiance is super cool and laid back, the staff is super knowledgeable and the location is a little slice of Nirvana! Too bad I can only give five stars. This place desreves six.
Phil is the BEST! For $5 you get a tasting of some truly excellent meads (12, I think?) all made with local honey from the bees in the forest preserve. The mead is amazing and Phil is so kind, and will tell you all about beer, mead, and how his family has made mead for three generations. Such a wonderful place!
Great place for homebrewing supplies, with the added bonus of bring about to have a glass of mead in the next room.
Great place to shop for your small brewing needs. The staff is very knowledgeable!!!However they are not updated to the current technologies, so they might be a little slow on check out and online orders. Also since they are such a small shop they do not have a huge variety of merchandise. However, everything I know about brewing came from the staff of this shop. Good place for your brewing needs above all
Brew store was unstaffed and unlit. When I got staffs attention, they were completely unhelpful. Bev Art should shut this part of the business down rather than ruin their name with such a poor business.
Amazing wine. Great staff. Convenient location and plenty of parking. I stop here at least once every few weeks. Cant say enough good stuff about the place. Oh, and the tours are fun!
Beautifully designed state of the art location. Delicious meads on tap. Friendly knowledgeable very helpful staff at the Owner Greg is a delight
Greg and his crew are good dudes and super knowledgeable. Always will to help, make suggestions or opine on processess improvements. Recommend to any home brewer from newbie to advanced.
Its a lot of fun to go with a friend --or a bunch of friends-- and take a class to make beer or wine. You just dont sit and listen... you actually make a whole case to take home (a few weeks later -- after its ready to bottle). You get to tweek it too before bottling so its just the way you like it. A couple was even making wine for their upcoming wedding toast ...cool!
Great place to hold private parties... zeducsted on meads & tried a few tastings of my liking...
Unfriendly staff member and very poorly stocked store. Looks like home brew is really not part of the business model any more.
I made wine with them before when they were on 103rd. So for my birthday I went once more...love the new location and the staff are wonderful as alway...
My daughters first play! She enjoyed the play will come again.
Well-priced good and sound advice for first-time brewers, buy local and save on shipping costs from online brewing stores!
