Well, I wanted to like this place but that quickly changed this past weekend. I called ahead to see if they will take donations or buy old vintage film cameras/accessories and she said they did. So, shortly after I stopped in with my gear. I walked in and said hello, the woman made eye contact with me and never said a word back. It looked like she was doing something so I shrugged it off and gave her time to finish up to then help me out. But, as time went by she still ignored my presence. We were the only two people in there, like hello? She never cared enough to even say that she would be right with me. I waited for a total of 30+ minutes and just walked out the door without being helped. Waste of my time, I will not recommend this place to anyone. I gladly will donate my vintage camera gear elsewhere.
I get all my camera supplies here. Adams a good guy. He shows an interest in whatever it is you are interested in making and he wants to help you get it done. Hell look up and do research for you too; contacting suppliers or other knowledgable folk on your behalf. Definitely recommend .
Good service for cameras and gear but very rude employees. Front desk guy was super unprofessional and snarky towards me as soon as I came into the shop. Very impatient when it came to my questions and concerns. He also was well aware that I did not have a mask and I asked for extras and if your going to make that mandatory of your store you should have extras. Had no problem taking my money with a huge attitude, after seeing my review he called me back aggressive and rude demanding I take my film back. Had to ask to show me that he refunded my money back as well as my film. Not a safe space. (I also showed him my vaccination card)
Ive been going to Pursuit for a few years now and have nothing but good things to say. Ive gotten a lot film developed and a few cameras fixed all at very fair turnaround times and prices. Their selection of equipment is great and priced well, and their film and chemicals are hard to beat in terms of selection!
Love these guys. i’ve had film developed there before and it’s always come out great. one of few places i’ve found that does it in house and it doesn’t take forever. was in the other day and the girl was super nice and helpful while my friend was buying developing supplies. so glad it’s in the neighborhood.
Stopped in to pick up my husband some brewing supplies and was throughly helped. I also appreciated that they were listening to the cdc and requiring masks in the store. It made me feel safe.
This is one of the worst places I ever been. With 50 years of customer service it is ungrateful and a place of discrimination. I am not even mentioning the rudeness comments and the threatening feelings I had upon speaking with the owner. I have a company I have employees I would never want someone in my company to speak with a client like this man did. I will not recommend this service to nobody.Micheal Skertinzek
Awesome little shop. Packed with gear and materials. Helpful people, too. Offers local yeast from Omega, only blocks away. Whats not to love?
Awesome experience! I’m a brewing beginner and stopped in on my lunch break to pick up a few things for my weekend brew. The owner was super friendly, knowledgeable and helpful with prices lower than what we’ve been ordering online for the past few months! So glad I found this place!
Best developer in Chicago!
Guy was rude as all 👹
Great service! I would highly recommend.
This place is a dream, Adam is wonderful, super informative and passionate about his work. Wanna get into it? This is the place to go.
Great shop with knowledgeable staff. When we were in we got to sample a few of the delicious things that they offered. Our daughter played with the electric circuitry. The collection of polaroid cameras made it east to find a great gift for our 5 year old and her joy of things that give instant gratification. Highly recommend checking the place out, love that they offer classes!
Rad place, has everything you need for brewing up beers, ingredients and gear wise, and diving into analog photography and the likes. Vibe is welcoming and people there will meet you where you’re at. 👍🏻
Great place to get brewing equipment. It has that very small town community driven feel, but with all the stuff you need to start a home brewery. Also photography stuff, but Im not a photographer so I cant speak to it.
I stopped in here for just a couple basics I needed and was very happy with the prices and they had what I needed. Will definitely buy more from here
They had everything we needed to Brew an awesome stout. The clerk offered enjoyable conversation while helping us get the grains. The store itself is a pretty neat little hole in the wall.
Great little store in Old Irving. I stopped in for some hops and grains and was impressed by how many different things they carry in that small storefront. Adam and his employee were very friendly and I ended up chatting with them for a while. This is my new go-to brewing supply store in Chicago. Ill be back!
Everything you could need for hobbies ranging from cheese making to coffee roasting to wine making to beer brewing to photography (Im sure Im missing something!). The owner is rad and super knowledgeable, which is helpful as you explore your new hobby. Highly recommend!
This place is great, I am into brewing and I go here for supplies and to get my questions answered. Ive also purchased the coffee they have for sale (which is amazing) and a pop corn popper. Check this place out they have a little something for everyone.
Really nice place in old irving park. Very friendly staff and very helpful. If i pursue this intrest in brewing my own beer i would definitely make this place my go to spot. Two thumbs way up.
Nice little store, lots of interesting items for all your quirky needs. The owner is a nice guy and will go out of his way to help. Definitely recommend!
Great local shop! Owner is a very friendly guy and the only reason why theyre getting 4 stars is because the store doesnt have a the room for a lot of stock. The popular items sell out quickly
Love going in whenever Im in the area. As a photographer, I love that they still carry Film & Poloroid products!! They have great customer service and everything I need to make the best coffee Ive ever made!! I love the Kombucha tea kits too :) Going to try my hand at making wine nest. Go in and have some fun.
Very well stocked
Awesome brewing supply and Photography supply shop. The owner knows the crafts and the prices are good!
Great place. Go there now for all your beer, cheese, pickle, coffee, electronics and film photography needs. Adam will help with whatever you want to do!
Cool store for niche DIY projects. Brewing, wine making, pickling, coffee roasting, cheesemaking, photo supplies, and more. All kinds of odds and ends, but well organized. They have a small shelf of homebrewing/beer books including Wild Brews, Farmhouse Ales, and others. I picked up some malt here for a buddys brew day, and noticed they had a lot of unique brewing ingredients. Staff was friendly and helpful. A great independent shop for local homebrewers and hobbyists.
Great spot for DIY pursuits. Adam has a great knowledge base and if he doesnt have something, he can try to get it
Great customer service and a very knowledgeable dude. A cool place to hang out and get some supplies.
Cool shop dealing with home brewing and other process based hobbies
Its great to find an owner who is willing to go beyond for the first time DIYer without judgement.
Awesome shop for niche diy products and staff that is friendly and knowledgeable.
Personable and knowledgeable sales clerk. Store is going to start selling accessories for new instant camera.
The owner is very nice and knows a lot about what he does.
They sell everything im interested in! where else can i visit one shop for brewing, wine making, fermenting, etc..?
I stopped in on my way from the train one day. Excellent customer service, knowledgeable staff, extensive selection and great store design.
Great store!
