I had to get pre K- fat pencils. Easier for learning to write. $3.99 at store but almost $8 plus extra for delivery. Thanks Office Max for considering the kids!

I have to agree with all the negative and one star reviews. There is usually a long wait for copy services, then the associate who finally took my job did not know how to do a simple back to back copy. Another 25 minute wait till she figured it out. I told one of the other employees (thinking he was the manager) and he said they were short handed. I told him at the very least they could put out a few chairs for the elderly and infirm who have to wait on a long line. He agreed and said he would pass it on to the manager. I don’t like going to this place at all.

I was left on hold for almost 20 minutes yesterday! I was so upset that Id been forgotten about, that I asked to speak with a manager about the issue. However, today, Robert over at the printing station has helped completely turn things around. His customer service is unmatched. He definitely is the hidden gem there. I wish they could clone him!!

Its a basic big box office store. Most items in stock. Staff was very helpful

I see an item i need online and a coupon. I go in the store to purchase. The store wouldn’t honor their online price and coupon but will price match a competitor but not their own site. So i had to order online for pickup. To get the cheaper price. Order is ready then i had to wait 15 mins for someone to bring it out to me. This total time of about 45 mins wasted could have been avoided if they would honor their own site while i was already in the store.

I wanted to share that I just had the most pleasant experience today at Office Max. Wesley was very informative, helpful, and got me the product I needed. Just talking to him brightened up my day. He was awesome!

I went to complete a FedEx transaction at the location at Chesapeake Square. There was only one person working the desk for shipping. She was helping someone. I waited 10 minutes and someone that had an order to pick up walked in AFTER me, bypassed the line, and walked right up to the counter. Not only did the customer rep stop working with the man in front of me, but went to reprint parts of the walk-in customers order and called the manager, Gloria, from the back to help her. Mind you, no one has helped me yet. The manger comes to the front and didnt even question who was next in line, but begin to also cater to the walk-in customer, even though I had been waiting. I try to come to this location because it is close to my house, but the customer service here is THE WORST!!!

Absolutely the worst copy associates Ive ever encountered! Extremely lazy and totally failed to comprehend my needs....I had provided a visual, and they just could not do anything for me! In addition...the copy center is extremely lacking in equipment and capabilities! Had they any self serve units I could have done the job myself!

Horrible service. I ordered a desk online for in-store pickup. Confirmation received that the order had arrived. I went to the store, product wasnt available. They sent me away until I demanded a desk in another color. No customer service, no apology for the inconvenience, nothing. Close down the store.

Bad, slow and unprofessional

Poor customer service. I asked for help from at least 3 employees one of which who just stared at me and refused to help me. I left very disappointed since Ive been going to this store for almost 20 years. Will not be going back to 4120 Portsmouth blvd for nothing. They have lost me as a customer.

They overcharge in store for the same printing services online. It was a $9.00 difference. To literally do the same thing as printing my order in store verses online for pickup. What a rip-off!!! The young man printing for us was extremely friendly. But the manager we spoke to about the price difference was very rude and condescending. She was so ready to get away from us asking the questions about a $9 price difference, saying “Are we done yet”. Highly do not recommend this place. So many other print options to choose from.

This is a clean, quiet location. The customer service is amazing but they are just understaffed right now. The company has done a great job at having some self-service options on their website which eliminates the staffing issue. I made my businesa cards online, paid for them...and just went in to pickup. My first choice...

I had to take a old printer to have it recycle and everyone that I had an encounter with treated me with kindness. The cashier was great she signed me up for the rewards program and explained it to me very carefully until I understood it.

To all who go 2 this store there is a guy named Thomas who work in the printing department he is the go 2 guy very pleasant 2 deal with. I only go 2 that one they r so friendly... Management is Great!!! This store is Awesome!!!!

I was there looking for a printer. The HP rep was there and she helped us out as we are a bit technically challenged. We were really empowered when we left. She was awesome.

If you are going for a laptop or computer, I would advise you to go elsewhere. Its a rip off, they show on the place cards to be pre loaded with programs alas they are not. Then they will tell you you have to purchase any and all programs either permanent or monthly.

The customer service by Zak at this OfficeMax is extraordinary. He is kind, punctual and always takes care of everything we need. We appreciate him very much.

Went looking for office chairs. They have a big selection to choose from,and good prices. If I had to buy back to school supplies I would go jump on their stuff, they have plenty. For now...;)

I ordered some ink for my printer on Thursday, there at the store. The person helping me to order it showed me that it was to come in on Friday. At 4:30 Friday, I called the number on my receipt to be told that it was running late and would not be to me until Monday. I called the store and talked with the store manager, Aaron, who immediately took care of the problem for me. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!

Let me start that Im not from Portsmouth, my truck broke down and needed to ship out a part (electronic) issue for repair. Went it the store waited for four customer in front of me to be be served. Ya, I got my shot and stated I need to use FedEx and was told I needed to fill out on the web site to, from, etc, when finished to let her know. When I finished I looked around for her didnt see then spotted her in the the parking lot by the time she got back to me the system timed out meaning I had to start over. I asked the employee if she would remain here till I was done so it would not happen again, and she said she would, and it happened, she started helping the next customer again. I let the manager know I was not happy with the service and went in search for another FedEx, Walmart was the closest and the part got shipped out. Turn around time for shipping and repair is min 6 days thanks Office Max for your non customer service. Hopefully you have a week like mine in the near furture.

ZERO STARS-Usually use OfficeMax for my laminating and had done so at previous addresses. Moved here two years ago and have a large collection of posters i want to get laminated. i STILL want to get them laminated because i swear to all that is holy I have walked into this place 20 times and left 15 times upset- there is ALWAYS a reason they cant laminate my poster- its getting comical now- i feel they see me coming and make up a new excuse - this JOKE of a store will NEVER EVER get my business again- go eff yourself

I went in there with my daughter and her friend the salesperson I guess she was thinking they was going to steal someone she goes up to them watching them hard but never ask me did I need help. We felt uncomfortable never will I purchase anything from that store anymore! They dont deserve the ONE STAR!

Like coming here from time to time to pickup office supplies, when i cant find anywhere else, although more exspensive then anywhere else, they usually have everything you need that walmart or any other store doesnt carry. The staff also very helpful.

Didnt carry the product I wanted but promised me that the store 30 mins away did and sent me there, the other store did NOT offer it and I wasted time and gas driving around in Virginia traffic through tolled tunnels there and back as well as ridiculous traffic. Thanks a lot for NOTHING but a giant wild goose chase. When I called to let them know they were misinformed so they wouldnt send others to aforementioned alternate location, the MANAGER told me it wasnt his problem whether or not someone gave me bad info, it isnt his employees job to know what other stores may or may not carry. WOW! I wasnt even mad, I was only calling to save someone else the run around in the future! I was warned not to go to the Chesapeake square location, when I pulled up it was super empty in the parking lot. Now I know why.

Tried to call because I need a local fax / copy center to rely on for my business needs. The store phone was answered right away, however the copy and print center left me on hold for over 5 minutes and did not answer me. The person who answered the main line and put me on hold came back on after I was on hold for 5 minutes and asked me if I was still on hold and then was supposed to be getting someone to answer my call. Im not driving down there to get their email address. Very poor customer phone service. I will be finding a different location if they dont answer this time.
