I had never had Ethiopian food before. My son and I came in today and everything was great. The owner came over and helped us decide and then made sure we loved it. You will not regret coming here.

I always appreciate the quality and authenticity of food here and the hospitality! The prices are reasonable and the food is amazing. I took some out of town guest for lunch and they loved it. We ordered the vegetable combo, Kitfo, and Foul....Ummmm!! It looked just like the photos. (which almost never happens when you go out to eat anymore. ) Then, we were blessed with the most perfect cup of coffee. (Note coffee is authentic and requires you to call the day before for prep. The beans are roasted by hand :-0 )

Small local Ethiopian store owned and operated by an Ethiopian family. They usually have fresh injera (both regular and 100% teff). They sell spices of various varieties. They also have a restaurant which I haven’t tried yet. Be careful if you’re non-Ethiopian as sometimes they’ll try to take advantage of you and charge you extra couple bucks on items or pass off regular injera as 100% teff injera (or vice versa). Otherwise it’s a good store to get your Ethiopian stuff.

Omg. Best meal Ive had in a long time! This place is amazing and the lady who cooks is an angel. I was starving and she helped me decide on a great meal with her descriptions and recommendations. The flavors, the way it was cooked, the vibe of the place, everything is great. Cant wait to go back and bring my friends!!

The best Ethiopian food I have EVER had!

The food is VERY GOOD and it has an extra depth of flavor that comes from being cooked slowly by someone with many years of experience. You should call your order in too reduce your wait. The wait time is a minimum of 30 min, but it is worth it. The portions are generous so one order for me lasts for at least 2 meals. The ambiance is pretty basic, but I feel that it only adds to the ”Ive entered another world” feel. While you wait for your order, you can buy authentic Ethiopian ingredients in their shop.Ive been to cuter Ethiopian restaurants with shorter wait times, but this place has the best food.If you dont know what to order, I highly recommend the Awaze Tibs and/or the vegetable combo.

Great cooking advice

Took my mom here for a very belated Mothers Day yesterday and it was fantastic. Shed never been before, but we had lunch and a Coffee Ceremony. She loved all the food, loved the people, and loved everything about it. The owners are friendly and informative, and very happy to engage in conversation. Id recommend to anyone who wants a unique dining and conversing experience.

This restaurant was half of a small grocery store in a strip plaza. The owner was super friendly and helpful. The menu, although not large, had everything one could wish for in an authentic Ethiopian cuisine. Definitely worth visiting. I will most certainly go back.

Food is authentic and delicious.....a family favorite

I tried this little restaurant for the first time and it was wonderful. The food is absolutely delicious, I was so impressed and Im looking forward to going back. Like others have mentioned, it is a very limited menu, but its in no way a negative. The servings are generous and the flavors even more so. And the owner is the loveliest person imaginable. She helped us decide what to order and she was so pleasant to talk to.

Drove from SC this week to try Nile. Was not disappointed! The shop owner and her son greeted us graciously and made recommendations that pleased everyone, including the vegan in our group. Excellent injera and large portions, along with grocery supplies and tips from the cook to try our hand at Ethiopian cuisine at home. Well worth the drive. We will be back!

Great Food! This was an awesome experience. Something real fresh and different.

I love Ethiopian food. Period. So as soon as I moved to Charlotte, I did what every proper food lover would do, tried out all the Ethiopian restaurants in the area! By far, Nile is the best - in the quality, QUANTITY, price and amazing response by the wonderful woman and her son who seem to be running the place. For 9.99$, you can get a huge veggie plate (and can even replace one of the lentils for shiro WHAT WHAT!) which would be more than enough for two people to eat! One thing is that you have to call a day earlier if you would like chicken or the coffee ceremony.

Ive never had Ethiopian food before finding this restaurant, but Ive been twice in the last week, and Im try to go again soon. You find yourself saying this is good to everything you eat. And the family that runs the place are very welcoming. Just come before 8 because thats when the kitchen closes.

The convenience of doing one-stop shopping is such a wonderful experience at the awesome establishment. I can get all of my Ethiopian spices as well as sit down & enjoy a wonderful meal. My favorite place for Ethiopian. Try the veggie combo.

I wasnt use to the food. I would recommend going here if you want to experience something new. If you order what I ordered just a quick tip raw is raw. Half is only half of the meat gets cooked and well-done is everything gets cooked. I thought half ment medium rare but I was mistaken. This place doubles as a grocery store so it gots that going for it.

Great food, even greater people. For Ethiopian food this is the place to go. You eat in a small intimate setting in the back of a grocery, and the warm treatment that you recieve by the owner is just as familial. Shes great!

Excellent authentic Ethiopian food! Hands-down the best in town. Try the Tibs (yummy marinated beef tips) and the awesome Veggie Combo. For the more adventurous, Kitfo (spicy ground raw beef).Very friendly service by the owners. All food made to order, nothing frozen.Request the Ethiopian coffee, made fresh from beans ground by request. Great spicy hot tea is yummy too.Take it from this regular - you wont be disappointed.

This is the best customer service and food in town the people will sit and talk with you as if you all were old friends. The BEST part is that they are a big part of the community helping develop and improve peoples lives that need help. Needed some injera and berbere spice. They had both. Interesting mix of people loitering inside and out. Not sure if Id feel comfortable shopping here at night.

Wonderful food, layed back atmosphere, and the owners are so hospitable and warm! I wanted to introduce my friend to Ethiopian food when she was visiting Charlotte, but she has a glutten allergy. I heard that they had teff-only injera so I stopped by the day before to find out. Indeed! They have a supply of frozen injera from Ethiopia with no wheat. So, of you are glutten free, they got you!As far as the food goes, its AMAZING. I highly highly recommend the Nile!
