My vehicle was brought in for regular maintenance and a check up on the tire pressure monitor. I was greeted promptly and told the car would be ready in about one hour. I asked about tire rotation and was told it would be done only if needed.The vehicle was ready in about an hour and it was determined that tire rotation was not needed!This was a first for me. Ive never experienced a car dealer that would pass on the opportunity to preform a suggested service! Kudos to the integrity of your service department.

Stephanie, at University Volvo, provided an excellent car buying experience. This was a 6-month process for me, 1st selecting type of SUV (gas or hybrid), then narrowing selected vehicles down to Volvo and another manufacturer. It was about 3 weeks ago that I began communicating with Stephanie and with other dealerships. I had actually chose a SUV from another manufacturer since the dealership was closer to me and service is a major consideration. I had a tight timeline and other constraints that made looking for a new vehicle something I was dreading. With inventory being so low every where, I was not optimistic I would find what I wanted. I found the listing for the exact car I wanted on UVCs website, called and was connected with Alton. He was a pleasure to speak with, very knowledgeable and accommodating. I just bought a used Volvo XC90 from University Volvo. They have a great team there. Its a cozy dealership that is extremely welcoming. Johnny Dunbar took care of me, and spent about 4 - 5 days actually working with me to make sure I was in the right vehicle. They even allowed me to keep the car overnight so I could really spend some time with it before making my final decision. I wish more dealerships did that. Johnny and the whole staff there was friendly and make you feel like youve joined a family. I highly recommend buying a car from there(even if its not a Volvo!).

After my husband and a deer had meeting on country road, we found ourselves shopping for a new vehicle. I asked many friends what they drove and why -- among the answers were Lexus, Audi, Infinity, Toyota and others. There was one person who mentioned Volvo, but I didnt give it a second thought.Quite frankly, this brand never even came to mind for me. I did a quick research on mint green SUV and a beautiful amazon blue came up. When I clicked on it - I thought, Oh wow --- and to my surprise it was a Volvo XC40. I was intrigued by its color and decided I wanted to know more. I was also drawn to the sleek European look. I read some reviews, which were very positive, including their safety features.My husband and I went to University Volvo and had the pleasure of meeting Daniel who let us a drive an XC40 although I told him I was interested in one in GA (the amazon blue). During the time with Daniel, he was patient, consultative and explained in great detail the features present in the car. Daniel was a Volvo technician for 5 years prior to moving into a sales role for past 8 years. His knowledge from the service side was very insightful and so welcomed. We left thanking him. He followed up with us over the next few days and I shared that I had decided against the amazon blue and really wanted to support a local business. He invited us to return and we did. We went back a few days later and he had the car ready that we thought we were interested in. During that conversation we had a discussion over pre-owned -vs- new. Based on that conversation and his insight, we decided to go the route of new. We ultimately decided on a 2021 XC60 and we are so happy that we did. University Volvo helped us find a perfect used car after many months of searching with other Volvo dealers. They did not try too hard to sell you a car, but instead let the product sell itself. Johnny did not bombard us with unwanted calls or emails, but was responsive when we had questions. They turn their inventory very fast, so keep tabs on their website daily. Closing was a piece of cake. We scheduled a 530pm appointment, test drove the car we had selected, and we were pulling off the lot with our title by 7pm.

His level of patience is commendable as we tried to determine what color would ultimately be chosen and explaining that we would go home and sleep on it for the night before committing to a choice. Although he was obligated to share with us the additional items that could be added to our purchase, he never pressured us to opt for them or attempted to convince us that we must have them. Many of the same employees are still there, and that in itself is a testament to the owner and management. I drive from Lake Norman area and I really don’t mind. If you dread the car buying experience, you will find University Volvo a refreshing experience. If you have never driven a Volvo or have misconceptions about them, from friends or media, go drive one. They are beautiful and intelligent vehicles. We’ve have to upgrade and down grade Volvo’ as family grew and had to go to a minivan for a few years. As the family grew older, we could not wait to get into our latest XC60, my son still drives my old S60, just hit 220k miles and still runs great.

The service department has been awful for the 2+ years we’ve owned our cars. Every time we bring them in “it’s always something”. A service they “can’t get to”, something they forgot to tell us until we’ve come all the way there to pick up the car. The department is severely understaffed and the management in this department seems to lack customer focus.

I recently leased a new car from University Volvo and the staff there could not have been more helpful. Johnny, Jeff, AJ and Mike made the process easy and smooth. There were no gimmicks and no pushy sales tactics, everyone I dealt with was informative and friendly. Theyve even followed up to see if they can help answer questions I may have with the new car. I live in South Carolina and could have gone just about anywhere to get a new Volvo. A friend recommended Mike and his team because of how good their customer service is and they were absolutely right. So I too am highly recommending University Volvo in Charlotte. - Phil

I purchased a used vehicle from University Volvo. They could not have been more professional, or more accommodating. They allowed me to have the car to test drive overnight, which ended up winning over my wife. Everything was prepared before I came in for signing the paperwork. It only took about an hour. I got a great price on a great, clean vehicle, and could not have had a better experience.

Absolutely great people. I purchased a pre-owned Volvo on a miserable rainy day and noticed a few things that I was not satisfied with a few days later.
