Their peanut mocha is absolutely delicious! Sandwiches are great too, but a little toastier than we would have liked. We got the avocado toast and the turkey club sandwich (see pics). Overall, great atmosphere and away from the King st. crowds, which is a plus.

Went to Charleston for the week and had some of the best food and coffee here. The space is gorgeous and different. Clean but full of personality. My husband and I own a coffee shop so we are kinda snobby about our coffee and babas was a win for us every time! Highly recommend coming here if you’re in Charleston.

The quiche is perfectly cooked and still had a jiggle when it was ran to our table. The deviled eggs are tasty and interesting. They keep the yolk and add the mayo on top. Its nice because the yolk is a little more jammy. The staff are super nice. The drinks are delicious and its a cool place to get work down. Indoor and outdoor seating. 10/10 would spend the whole day here.

I ate at this place, I’m not ashamed to admit it, every day I was In Charleston for a long weekend, and I just loved it. Great spot in a cool neighborhood, friendly staff, pleasant vibes, great outdoor seating and they take COVID safety seriously, a rarity, I’m finding, in the south.Whether coming here for lunch and a beer or breakfast and a latte, it all good. I loved the turkey club and the quiche, which was out of this world and comes with a great side salad.So anyway, I recommend, I loved this place and if I ever find myself in Charleston again I look forward to returning here.

Babas on Cannon is a must visit. It is absolutely imperative that you order the quiche, which does require some waiting time (usually 12 minutes), but it is the best quiche I have ever had in my life and worth the wait.

Great little coffee shop - was not a fan of the peanut latte (it tastes like drinking peanut butter) I guess we should of asked. Was also a little disorganized on where to wait for coffee, and we watched our two drinks sit on the counter for 5 minutes until they got to our order.

Quiche tasted great but it took over 45 minutes for them to heat up. During that time all the ice in the iced tea they prepared melted and latte got cold. Good food, poor execution. Be prepared for a wait and some disorganization if you go.

Its not very expensive for such a crowded tourist spot. definitely recommend for a quick bite or to sit on the patio and sip wine!

I love babas sooo much!!! It is now my favorite cafe downtown Charleston. I love the decor, the vibes, European style, the unique relaxed menu and I love the workers uniforms- It really elevates the dining experience and is so classy and takes me back to Europe. Whenever I’ve been served at babas it’s every obvious they really care about your experience. Not to mention the food is great- my favorite is matcha latte and their avocado toast is amazing. Please never go anywhere babas!!!!

One of my favorite spots in all of Charleston! They are so thoughtful with their approach to everything. The cocktails are some of the best in town, the food is incredible, and the vibe is immaculate! We came with some military friends and they were sooo accommodating and sweet to us! The food was alright, however, my friends and I didn’t really have a super pleasant experience. Two people in my party found little pieces of plastic in their food, but it’s whatever, we picked it out, no big deal - we’re easy. Two out of the three of us received our food in a timely manner, but our last party member’s food didn’t arrive. When we inquired, they said they forgot to ring it in and it would be a few minutes, but like I said before, we get it! So we waited. The food came, as well as a new check. They adjusted our card payment to pay for the meal they forgot. Though it’s understandable, it really isn’t? We all felt like that forgotten meal should have been comped considering it was their error. It was weird and not very accommodating to bring a new check to pay for the service mistake, at least in my experience. Strange occurrence and honestly, kind of disappointing. We won’t go again.

The customer service here was horrible. The cashier was rude when taking the order. Just got 2 iced coffees and took well over 15 minutes to get. At the 10 minute mark i went up to check on the drinks and the broista with attitude and lots of sass replied its busy and 10 minutes isnt even that long to wait. I also noticed him replying rudely to other customer. I got a half sweet vanilla latte and i got a oat milk latte with no vanilla flavoring. Overall very disappointed. I was expecting it to be better considering all the great reviews.

A hidden gem in Charleston. Couldnt have asked for better service, or a better hot toddy. These guys and gals really know how to mix a drink and make you smile. The outside seating is so comfortable and the service was great!

The space itself is cute but everything else was disappointing. We tried the turkey sandwich, dip appetizer, avocado toast, iced coffee, regular (black) coffee, and tall quiche. None of those were worth trying again. The service also wasnt great, but maybe thats a Charleston thing? One of our items was forgotten, as was another entrée at the table next to ours.

Bad service, the girl taking our order seemed annoyed to be there. I ordered an iced coffee, which was entirely forgotten, and when I went back to get it I found out that there was none prepared so instead the server poured a hot cup of coffee over ice and handed it to me. Apparently the iced coffee was a self-serve but nothing was said upon my initial order. Someone in my party ordered the avocado toast, and it was burnt to the point of being blackened.

Babas is a small, local, coffee bar in dowtown Charleston with great expresso based drinks, and delicious edibles (try the Tall Quiche or the Chocolate Hazelnut Pound Cake...!!), served up by the couteous and friendly staff starting at 7am, Monday through Sunday. Five Stars!

Babas on Cannon was easily our favorite stop during our attempt to hide away for a weekend in Charleston.The coffee is quality and the staff was wonderful. They were very kind and quick, and on our second visit of the weekend they even gave us a slice of cheesecake on the house.I reccomend getting a dirty chai, and if youre feeling adventurous to try a peanut milk mocha. Just make sure to ask for some extra chocolate in the mocha otherwise the peanut flavor overpowers it.As a bonus, It was one of the few (and I mean F E W) places on/near King street taking Covid precautions seriously. We arrived for our trip to find an endless parade of Chads and Sarahbekkahjessicas just casually packing in to bars without masks. Babas was clear on their process/precautions and were polite and professional.

Great food, not the best coffee in town to me but I’m very picky.

Our order took about 20 minutes due to the restaurant being busy. No worries there on the wait, but my dirty chai latte was watered down and didnt have any flavor to it. My husband really enjoyed his peanut moche latte. I left a tip prior to receiving our to-go order, but wish I would have waited until after I received our product.

Very handsome cafe with friendly service. The latte (and later the iced peanut mocha) were both delicious and superior to your regular coffee shop product. And the pastries were excellent: we had the griddled pistachio bread (think buttery, slightly almond-y, moist inside and slightly crisped outside pistachio bread), and the brown butter cookies (words won’t work for these). We’ve visited this place three times in less than 24 hours. Sure, that’s partially because of proximity, but I know that regardless of where I stay in charleston next time I’ll want to visit here.

Had a great lunch here. It can be hard to do super simple dishes well sometimes, but babas on canon takes them and excels.

We dropped by this place on a Saturday morning and it was delightful. The owner, Edward, greeted us warmly and made us feel at home. We sat outside and had a terrific lunch. The Avacado Toast is superb and the BLT with the overnight slow cooked tomatoes sets it apart from any other BLT you will have. We will go back whenever we are in Charleston.

Honestly can say this is the best little cafe in charleston. You are always greeted with the friendliest smiles, and they take the time to really get to know you. The coffee is ALWAYS fresh and delicious. The food is so satisfying, and I personally recommend the avocado toast and egg or the egg taco. They are both easy to take when you’re on the go, and are packed with flavor and freshness. If you haven’t been, you are missing out!

We came here for breakfast twice during our short trip to Charleston! The avocado toast was perfect! The pistachio pound cake was exactly what youd hope for, except BETTER! The banana bread was sooo yummy and was a nice thick cut! The tall quiche lived up to its name -- it was huuuuge and so tasty, right down to the crust (our 16-month-old even loved it!). The coffee and espresso are awesome...AND you should definitely indugle yourself in the peanut milk mocha! Tastes like a Reeses cup in liquid form!! And yes -- like all the reviews say -- its true...the staff is the friendliest!!!

I had my first visit to Babas. What a great addition to the Cannonborough-Elliottborough neighborhoods! This is a unique space with exposed heart of pine ceilings, great food and atmosphere. The owners will greet you and make you feel like family. Very casual and relaxing vibe. This comes highly recommended.
