Overpriced and and the drink was just okay. The girl working was very friendly. You will get charged extra if you use a card instead of cash.

I never imagined that my favorite coffee shop in the world would be in Charleston Illinois but it is! Jackson Ave makes the best iced dirty chai latte. Their shop is clean and cute and overall a great environment whether you’re meeting with a friend to talk or studying for a test.

I loved this place and the cute little bookstore next door has an interior entrance which adds to the experience. The barista was very friendly and made me a delicious drink. I was half asleep while ordering and I really wanted some sort of baked good for breakfast but my social skills were still sleeping- she managed to interpret my mumblings to my fiancé and recommended their peanut butter cookies which did not disappoint. We just moved to the area but I am positive that Ive found my new coffee shop. They have fun local crafts available for purchase hung up around the room; per the usge, the artists know their worth so pieces are priced accordingly.

Best chai tea Ive ever had, both hot and iced - Id opt for the hot if I were you though because he loads you up on the ice even if you tell him to go easy. Still some damn good chai though.

Lovely local coffee shop! The employees are attentive and nice. Their bakery items taste great and their wide selection of drinks are good as well. The atmosphere of the coffee shop is cozy, and they sometimes even have live music as a treat.

I really wasnt impressed. I ordered a coffee, and after paying, I was given an empty cup and directed across the room to a carafe containing luke warm marginal coffee. It doesnt smell very good inside either.

Their coffee is always great, and they have added 3 new coffees to their lineup the Amaretto Cookie Latte is awesome!

This is a great little place to stop for coffee, and clearly a popular local hangout with a board game day, a weekly Irish jam music in a separate navigation room, and art on the walls. Ive stopped there several times after hiking in the area at Fox Ridge State Park. Its also a couple of blocks from a nice little used bookstore, Pensees. Well worth checking out.

Best coffee in Charleston and if youre in Mattoon its worth the drive too. Store is also board game friendly so (within reason) show up with some friends and a game. Open mic nights are also a great time!

Forget going to a mega chain like Starbucks. Go here instead, same or cheaper prices higher quality ingredients and a more friendly local atmosphere. Local art is always on the walls, and the performers that play here are always as much a treat as the drinks. They even serve some basic foods that are great.

You feel at home, the coffee is great and some of the best I have ever had and I have traveled the world over. Staff knows more about coffee and how to brew it then I even knew was possible! Great place clean, hometown feel but big city taste!

This guy has a good selection of year round espresso drinks (hot& cold) and seasonal stuff. I stick mostly to coffee, iced coffees and Americanos. They tend to pull the espresso a little longer than the chain across town which makes them a bit more potent.

Hometown vibe. It is way more relaxed compared to starbucks. Really good pastries as well and has music sometimes

Jackson Avenue Coffee, or The JAC as its known, is the quintessential local coffee shop. A small staff means you might have a little wait for your drink, but they are also very knowledgeable about their offerings and are happy to make recommendations. Everything is delicious, from the fancy drinks to the simple fare. Theres​ always something going on in the back room of an evening, but there are plenty of hours for quiet study, group project meetings, or catching up with a friend.

Went to the Jackson Ave Coffee house to meet other Bernie supporters. I didnt have any coffee but the food and tea was really good. The barista was honestly the nicest and most helpful person I have ever meet!

I received the most unwelcomed welcome ever at this place yesterday. Ten minutes after arriving, 5:30 PM, the barista finality asked me if I wanted anything. I may never do business there again and thats a shame, Ive been going there since its opening.

The coffee is good, but the open mic night with local bands is awesome. 5 mile train is a regular and well worth your time to go listen to.
