Ive driven the same car for 20 years and I love it dearly. My father has taken care of it for most of my life but the time for me to start being responsible for it eventually came. Trying to find a good mechanic is a nerve-wracking ordeal with all the horror stories about getting taken advantage of and milked for money. Modern Service has great reviews so I decided to give them a try and I am so happy I did. Their prices are incredibly fair, they have always helped me find the most cost efficient way while still giving quality service, and they always take the time to check up on my car when needed no matter how busy they are. Theyve have taken good care of my little car (and my husbands jeep) for the past couple of years and I am continually grateful to them, as well as happy to have a relationship with a team of mechanics I can trust.

This is one of the first times Ive taken a car to a mechanic, and Ive got to say they did a terrific job; they kept me in the loop every step of the way, were very knowledgable and happy to supply any additional information when I asked for it, got it done quickly, and at a very reasonable price. They were even willing to work with my schedule and helped me pick up the car after-hours since I couldnt get a ride there during business hours. Great service, very honest. Not gonna screw you out of your money. I went in because of a noise in my car, they werent 100% sure what it was but had an idea, however they didnt think it was necessary to repair at the time. When I left the lot, the noise was gone and hasnt come back since. They could have easily replaced what they THOUGHT was wrong, but instead they checked everything else and said my car was safe to drive. Theyve earned another customer in me for sure.

The rear brakes were too much for me, though. I took it to Modern Service and asked them to replace one part on one side of the rear brakes. Once disassembled, however, they found that much more was in need of repair. They were willing to show me (and again, I know what Im looking at) and I could tell that it was much worse that I thought. The price went up from my original quote, but it was absolutely fair for the work being done.They also kept me aware of the progress and any hiccups along the way.Modern Service is one of the most honest and fair auto repair shops that I have ever done business with.

My car broke down on the way to Raleigh from Charlotte and Modern came highly recommended by a coworker. I got my car towed there and their bays were all filled up which is a great sign but not so much when youre hoping that you can get your car back before having to drive back to Charlotte.I got a call letting me know what was wrong and that they werent sure if they could get the parts as there was a delay in deliveries that day. I know...youre wondering if I had to stay the night or rent a car... I had to do neither of those things! An hour or two after I got the initial call, I received another call stating my car would be ready for pick up. This place does a bang up job and are very reasonably priced. No upselling or BS.Cant say enough great things... This will be the best repair experience youll ever have. 👍👍👍

Very honest and highly recommended place if youre around Cary, NC. I saved at least around $1000 with their honest suggestion. Theyre very reliable and will upfront say whether its worthy to go ahead and do the repairs. I had drove from Tennessee till here to meet my family. I had some issues with my steering and had it diagnosed from a different mechanic which is a franchise(Mr. Tire) who suggested me with a repairs worth more than a $1000 I was a little skeptical about the repairs as I am a mechanical engineer and automobile enthusiast too. Also the Mr. Tire guy was forcing me to get the car fixed immediately. I also fix minor repairs by myself at times as it interests me and saves some bucks from my pocket as a student savings means a lot to me. So I wanted to get it checked from some local mechanic before I go ahead with the repairs thats when I came across modern service. Mr. David here was honest with the fact that old cars are not worth fixing spending over a $1000 and could manage until I drive back home and rather get it fixed there so I can get full benefits of warranty on my repairs. I recommended this place to my family too. I really appreciate their honesty.

This shop is great! Ive lived in the area for a long time and I wish I had gone here sooner. I had an issue where the Hendrick service department over pressurized by compressor when they were servicing it and was telling me I needed to get a new compressor. These guys are great, the reviews are true. I brought them my 1994 YJ jeep wrangler, it has been through several owners and over 185,000 miles. They were true and honest on all of it. If it was broken, they let me know and gave me an option to fix it, if it wasnt as bad as I thought it was, they would tell me it was ok. Legit, honest mechanics. Im telling you - these guys are a rare find.

No phone calls 3 hours into the repairs to say OH By The Way...Have been a customer since 2012 and have friends with longer history. Great place, great people. You might get a cheaper price somewhere, if there are no add on phone calls, but you will not get better service.

I have a small business (busy and all over the place driving) and two small kids. I called them because I was at a place right across the street at about 5 pm when I discovered that I had a flat tire. They brought me in and fixed my flat in about 5 minutes! They were a) Open b) friendly and c) fast even though there were plenty of cars in the shop. I’m not sure what my day would’ve been like tomorrow, since I take the kids to daycare at 8 am, without them but it would’ve been ugly. I will absolutely bring them any problem I have with my cats in the future!

My 2007 Sienna was smelling unbearably of burnt oil. It seemed that there was a leak, oil drops were landing on something hot and the smoke was entering through the heater vents. Took it to Modern because of the great reviews - they diagnosed the problem and said it would cost $1200+. As old as the car is, I hesitated a great deal before finally deciding to give it a shot. When they fixed it, it cost me only ~ $300 because they realized they didnt need the expensive part. Such integrity is rare. My only regret is that I didnt find these folks earlier. I am a t12 paraplegic and I know a lot about cars.Tommy the owner of Apex Auto services recommended I come see David because he did not have the PC to check my transmission. Tommy said he went to school with Marshall the previous owner and I told him he worked on my 1990 lumina years ago. Tommy knows his buissnes but he said Marshall was better! WELL LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT DAVID!!I made an appointment with David who bought out the shop, from Marshalls wife after his way too early death. David is just as good, if not better. He and his Guys are awsome!! David and I rode probably 6 to 7 miles in my van, with the PC hooked up. My transmission was downshifting hard, on a rebuilt one from Autozone. ( Not installed by Tommy or David. )I had to get my oil changed on the transmission to stop the hard downshift. I was more than happy to have these guys do my work! Why- David reset the PC for free the first time EVEN THOUGH IT DID NOT WORK! David I am very sorry for the long overdue review, and I hope it is OK! Great place to get your AMSOIL Oil change.

This a very good shop. My 1998 firebird used to break down almost monthly (not even kidding) and each time modern would figure it out and fix what needed to be fixed. They dont try to lie & upsell to you things you do not need; they do whats need to be done, but of course if they see something that actually needs to be fixed theyll tell you. Their labor rate is expensive (around $95/hr iirc) but other shops are about the same. I wouldnt take my car anywhere else. Modern will not disappoint, they truly stand behind their work.
