The culturally insensitive display they have in the back room located with the teas is so off putting. White sage is a closed practice and should not be sold. Educate yourselves and do better. You are living on Indigenous land, please be more respectful.
I have always love supporting local businesses especially because I know how hard it is to built one.. every time I come into the store there is this older lady with Glasses that is sooooo rude and her customer service is horrible.. I don’t think I will ever go back and it’s so sad because they have such good products..
I will never go back to this store again! I bought some vitamins yesterday, and went back today to get a stronger dose, and the old rude lady told me they dont do returns! You dont do returns that are within one day & unopened! She wanted me to do the exchange with a swap, and I would lose $4.00. They sure take your money, but wont even give you back any of it. Horrible customer service, and very rude, not a place I want to shop & spend my hard earned money. I will be going to Whole Foods from now on for my vitamins.
Huge selection of all things necessary for healthy diet and supplements. The staff has always been helpful and knowledgeable.
Every time I walk in I feel like Hansel or Gretel getting ready to look for stuff to make Changa... These people are actually very helpful... this place is HUGE inside also! A true hidden gem of Carson City truth be told. They need to up the game and start slanging kratom also like everyone else is around them... just saying. I love this place
Always have been very helpful and knowledgeable for all of my questions. I like the small town feel of the shop and love the extensive variety. Great for me who is vegan and make blends for various products.Love it just the way it is! Michelle
Ok
9/30/20161:30 pmMy wife, 2 year old son, and I were shopping and was approached by a worker named Susan with a candy sucker for my son not to be running around (i.e. nothing else was explained why?). All he was doing was pointing at what was inside the jars, we continued towards the end of the store where small closed bins are-my son crouched near and pointed to what was inside-touching the outside of the plastic bin under my careThe worker Catherine approaches the both of us and literally yells at my son indirectly to leave the store because he is putting his hands inside the bins. I thought she was joking and proceeds to continue yelling at me to leave the store. I told her 1) Do not yell at my son- he is a child 2) He didn’t put his hands in the bins 3) we are good repeat customers 4) We will take our business somewhere else. Catherine yells at me saying I don’t care. We leave without further incidentI call Du Bois 3 minutes after my family and I leave the store and incidentally talk to Catherine- she lied to me saying who she was and that my complaint doesn’t matter- to write out a statement. I asked to speak to her boss and she hung up on me. I call back and spoke to Susan who treats people with respect and common courtesy- she apologizes, told me her co-workers real name and took my number down for the owners to call me back. The point is that we have been beyond numerous times and never has my son been an issue and NO WHERE is there a sign that says NO CHILDREN ALLOWED!How can an employed elder speak to a 2 year old child in that manner? My son was scared grasping my leg- not understanding why?Du Bois lost good customers, and we deserve an apology for being treated like garbage Catherine.
Good variety, clean store. The staff should be more knowledgeable about the products. Otherwise I recommend.
Staff is rude for the most part older lady is always short and snappy gives a lot of misinformation I live in Carson but I will go to Reno they have a monopoly in Carson They have been rude pretty much for the last 20 years Ive been going in there but I have tolerated it because its convenient too small too crowded bad customer service too bad theyre the only game in town with a good selection they need a makeover
Found what I couldnt find at other sources! Awesome customer service and very helpful.
Their products are great, variety is pretty good, but I have to get a sitter to go there. They arent kid friendly. Some of the staff is amazing, and the other half acts like Im an inconvenience for being there, no matter how much Im spending. I buy most of my products online, but if Im in a pinch I have to buy here and get in and out quickly to avoid some of the grumpier staff.
Yes there are a lot of things to buy that other shops do not have. But if I am about to spend $100 in one visit, my 3 year old should be able to use the restroom to avoid an accident, especially when there are 4 people waiting to pay in line and it isnt easy to grab what you need, pay and leave. This was the manager too Im assuming that said she couldnt use their bathroom. We were there the previous week spending over $100 also. I put what I was buying back on the shelf and quickly went to the nail salon where the tech was friendly and let my child use her bathroom no problem. They call themselves a family store but there is nothing about them that seems family orientated at all. Ill order online or drive to Reno to avoid going there ever again.
This store is a really small and meandering store. It is packed with a lot of product and you really have to get a good look at everything to know the full scope of what they carry. Staff friendliness varies the long term employees seem the grumpiest! Be careful what you purchase because even with a receipt they refused to refund an item I purchased the day before with my receipt. I didnt have my reading glasses and the supplement had a product I was allergic to in it. It was unopened and I had the receipt, but they refused to refund or even credit me. Hmmm, not good customer relations.
Excellent selection and knowledgeable staff. My go to health store..
Great selection! An oasis in the city. Helpful staff and charming environment. So happy to have found it.
Phil DuBois is extremely well informed about the use of supplements for health and well being. He should be able to help with informational support for any health challenge.A great resource for the members of his community, and a blessing that hes still in business
Very small, very crowded very old old building in run down part of town! Way way overpriced. Being new to area this place was recommended. Had a bad reaction to one of the products. The staff and owner nervously asked the 89yo owner what to do about the return. Long story short the owner would not return the product and was very hostile to me. He said it was a money loss if he returned product. The receipt clearly stated keep receipt if you need to return! Called manufacturer of product who told me their policy is to always refund to the merchant who sell their product. Treated horrible. Do not waste your time or money here. Cheaper more professional online(vitacost) or go to whole foods smiths trader joes natural grocer etc .etc.. Cheap nasty owner
