The experience at Michael Hohl Honda was amazing, very friendly staff, do their all to make you feel at home and help with anything and everything they can, Alex(ALC) helped in every way possible, the only complaint i have was having to wait quite the time for a response from finance, and having to come back the next day to do it all over again about a total of 5 hours waiting. Other than that the staff was great and friendly and i went home with a New Honda Accord. Thanks Alex (ALC) and Nick (at Subaru).

I drove all the way from Oregon to purchase my dream car from this dealership. My salesperson, Sunny, was refreshingly professional before and after my arrival. He made sure to treat me as a guest and catered to my purchasing experience with great attention. He even made sure I checked in with him after my long trip home to ensure I had made it back safely. This review is for an amazing experience I had back in April. I came to Honda looking to buy my first car. Working with Laurei and Autumn was great because they were extremely helpful and informative! They worked with me for several hours so that I could get my dream car for a very reasonable price. 2 months later... I still love my CR-V and I am so happy I went to Michael Hohl Honda!

All I have to say is they have a customer for life..(hope not to get a new car soon thought lol) I took my friend on her lunch to test drive a car she wanted and the gentleman that came up was cool and very helpful because the one gentleman she was supposed to meet got busy. Well needless to say I got hooked into buying a car because #1 they dont work off commission so they are honest, upfront and never once pressured me into anything. Even the dealership boss came out and said hi! Now my friend and I are total dorks together and they loved us. They are amazing team, funny, and relaxed. Thank you Marcus and everyone else that sat and joked with us for hours! You are the best! I have had many bad experiences with dealerships but this one changed it all. I will never go anywhere else!

Having purchased many new vehicles in over my 46 years of buying new cars, we probably would have gone elsewhere had it not been for the excellent care we received from Salesperson Steve Berry. For a relatively new guy, Steve read us well and addressed our simple interests, needs and desires almost precisely. Aside from just plain intensely listening to us, Steve went way above and beyond what we expected in a automotive sales representative. He is honest, genuine and followed up with everything he promised. Steve will most certainly master his craft in short order and knowing that, we would wholeheartedly recommend seeing him (almost exclusively) if youre in the market for we new Honda!

I was on the market looking for a new car for a few months. I have checked out different dealerships but each time they offered me a price that was always way above MSRP with a laughable APR. So I decided to stop searching in Reno and try out Carson City.Upon arriving my friend and I were greeted by Jose, very nice and down to earth guy. We told him what car I was looking for and he swiftly went out and drove it right up, after a quick test drive I knew I was ready to buy. Fortunately, we had already negotiated a price beforehand and agreed it. I appreciated how even after the price was set, Jose did not try to sell additional accessories to increase the price nor did he try to throw in those other charges and hidden fees. The final out the door price was already set.Having a busy schedule already makes it tough to find time to look for a car and even more so if the sales person has to constantly go back and forth with the finance person to approve the price. I was in and out of Carson City Honda in about 2.5 hours and from what I was told by others, that is pretty quick.Thank you Jose and Carson City Honda for making my first time buying a new car experience a good one!

I had a wonderful experience at Michael Hohl Honda. I was in the market for a new car and ultimately decided to go through Costco. It was the smoothest car buying experience Ive ever had.My search for a new car was a months long process. When I initially contacted Michael Hohl Honda through Costco, Laurei immediately reached out to me with price quotes on numerous make/models. She was prompt, knowledgeable, considerate, and very willing to answer any/all questions that I had through text and email. When I was finally ready to come down and test drive (months later!), Laurei had my car all ready to go when I got there. From start to finish, I was there a total of 3 hours. When someone start the car shopping process it can be a bit overwhelming. The shopping part is test driving different vehicles and deciding how much you are willing to spend.I will tell you that being told that I can afford a monthly price is over stepping! Telling me that if you can afford it I can... is not ok! Telling me that signing papers is just a hold on a car so we can think about it.... IS A LIE! Adding vehicles that are not yet purchased to my personal XM radio is NOT OK! Wanting to close a deal before a car is ready to drive is NOT OK! keeping me waiting on numbers for 6 hours NOT OK!I can tell you that I am beyond disappointed in this dealership. This is not a dealership that I would recommend on any level!I feel like by the grace of God I dodged a BAD deal and price.

The easiest car buying experience, ever! Laurei, our salesperson, responded quickly to my questions about the cars I was researching over the course of a few months. I felt great knowing there was someone taking my inquiries seriously.When the time came to test drive the CRV I purchased (LOVE the car by the way!) and make the decision to buy, she genuinely cared about making sure I was going to be happy with the experience. I was impressed with how knowledgeable Laurei was with the CRVs features and I wasnt overwhelmed with the information. Test driving the car was a breeze, I was given the keys and as much time as I needed to take the car for a drive.I never felt pressured during the financing portion of the experience. At first I thought they gave me a great deal told them I wanted a new car and that I would want to refinance later on I bought the car 5 months ago and my credit score is like 80 points higher then it was when they sold it to me.I go to refinance because there charging me a high interest rate and I need cut back on expenses they told me THEY DONT REFINANCE.What u mean u don’t finance?I said that’s what I was trying to do and the beginning and they played me now If I continue to keep the car with my payments I’m end up paying 39500 something on a car that’s only worth 22000 with the price they dropped it to if I bought it at at that time they were doing deals..wouldn’t recommend buying from them they need to be more honest with a customer then just trying to get sell that bad customer service....

Was between 1 & 2 stars. We bought a 2021 CRV Hybrid in mid-December. The saleswoman explained that the crossrails would be delivered in mid-January as there was a nationwide backlog. She asked what settings we would like pre-set before pickup (radio, lock/unlock, etc.) We gave her our preferences. Upon pickup, none of the settings were completed. She said shed call in a week to see how our new vehicle was and answer any questions. NO call at all, plus, we never heard about the crossrails we paid for. We called in mid-February and were told the crossrails had been in and we could set up an appt. Ive bought several new cars and have never been so neglected by a dealership like Hohl. We wont be returning.

Going to keep this as short as possible. I went there to look at a mini van and was shown a 2009 Honda Pilot. Body wasn’t in perfect condition had some dents and scratches but the inside was in pretty good shape. Sticker price was 11,999. We delt with them for a bit and we came to an out the door figure of 13,500 with a warranty. Started signing papers and looked at the final price 16, something after down payment. Total price of vehicle was 19, something. Basically I left there crying. Was not going to buy a 2009 car with body damage with sticker price of 11,999 for almost 20,000. This place is so dishonest from the sales person to the finance to the manager. But it was good for me I found a 2013 perfect condition, everything on it for a way better deal!!DO NOT TRUST THEM!!! Make sure to look at final finance price before you sign. Don’t feel bad to walk out. There is someone out there that will sale you a car honestly.

When shopping for my newest vehicle last spring which was either going to be a Toyota Corolla or a Honda Civic. Shopping both vehicles and appreciating two experiences between Carson Toyota & Michael Hohl Honda I noticed a huge difference in the sales approach as Toyota is commission base and you can totally tell but with Honda it was so relaxing and zero pressure sales tactics. So I ended up with my 2018 Honda Civic Hatch Sport. Hands down Michael Hohl Honda is a great place to purchase vehicles. Amazing staff and great deals! I won’t buy a car anywhere else as long as I’m in Nevada! Oh don’t let me forget their service department is truly the best. If you value honesty and professionalism I would strongly recommend avoiding this dealership and likely the dealer group (the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree). Don’t walk, run away.I had negotiated the purchase of a used (newer low mileage) Honda CRV with their business development manager via email and phone. I received photos of the vehicle since their website did not have any uploaded yet.. I noticed what looked like scrapes and chips on the rear bumper but was told “oh it’s just leaves I personally checked.. we just had our first snow storm”.Relieved of the condition issues we moved forward with asking the vehicle to be held until we could see it in person on the weekend. I was also reassured that it was in “GREAT” condition through email since that was a concern due to the distance we would have to travel and a strong desire to NOT WASTE OUR TIME.They email me that night and tell me I need to provide a $3000 non refundable deposit for them to hold it 3 days. I tell them no I’m not giving you a NON REFUNDABLE deposit when I haven’t driven it or even seen it. They back off on the non refundable deposit. The deposit demand also made me believe it must be a nice car if there is that much demand...We arrive and the salesperson I was working with was nowhere to be found (weird.. they say she isn’t even in that building?), so a random man started trying to help us and gather information. I explain to him we already had a deal negotiated and I am simply here to see the vehicle, drive it and then proceed with purchase if it was as advertised and hand over the cashiers check.Next we are passed to the finance manager which makes zero sense as we aren’t financing anything, he makes random small talk for a bit and then asks the first salesman that tried to help us where the keys are... he doesn’t know. Now a third person speaks up and says he has them and to come over to his desk because he has everything ready, we do. The whole situation is just bizarre at this point and feels off.He wants me to start signing paperwork... I tell him I would like to at least SEE the car before signing anything, he plays it off and agrees. We walk out to the car and the damage to the bumper I had questioned is DEFINITELY THERE. The snowstorm and leaves story was a complete lie, the damage was always there plus other random scrapes that weren’t shown in the pictures that were sent to me. They also conveniently have the car backed up against a wall so it’s not exactly easy to see the bumper damage.. I bet that wasn’t a purposeful dirty tactic hoping we would just pay and leave (yeah right).Long story short they basically make every excuse in the book as to why they lied, they offer zero concessions.. basically take it or leave it. I left it, it’s not even about the damage it’s the principle of honesty and business professionalism/trust. They weren’t even apologetic really, they just kept somewhat admitting to being liars while posturing strategically that it’s not their fault and that they have never had this problem. Who knows what else they could be hiding if they can’t even be transparent about large scrapes and chips on a bumper. We leave frustrated, empty handed. I completely understand why they were trying to get the non refundable deposit now.. because they are an extremely shady dealer who wanted me to be in a jam when I see the damage does exist after driving 4 hours (I’m from out of town) spending $ on gas and a hotel.About 15 minutes later some other random salesman texts me and tried to play the nice cop game and hustle us by offering $300 off if I was to drive all the way back to the dealer that isn’t trustworthy. No thanks, we will never do business with you and the second sales pitch text/call added insult to injury.. explaining how we shouldn’t have expected a used car to be in new condition! Again, the sales women verified in email there was no damage at all to back bumper.Go anywhere else.

I went to Michael Hohl Honda to buy a new HR-V. I was greeted by Joe and he made the buying experience a true pleasure. I was treated very professionally and Joe went out of his way to make the buying of my new car an experience that that I will favorably remember for a long time ( unlike other dealers that were no where as sincere, helpful and truthful ).. NOW the caveat------ The service department, at the time of my purchase, was very friendly and because my wife is very ill, advised me that I could make an appointment for all service needs and simply wait at the dealership while my car was serviced . I live about 40 miles from the dealership. **** When I tried to schedule my first service---I was advised that Michael Hohl service operates like Jiffy Lube and I should come on in and service would be first come, first serve . No appointment necessary for normal service--- merely sit and wait for an indeterminate period of time ! Quite a difference from what was stated at the time of my purchase ! ! Lying is a social faux pas but by law puffing is quite acceptable ! Beware of the puffing (which I terms as lying B.S.) folks at Michael Hohl Honda !I bought a cheap car and now I have a cheap car and NO SERVICE ! ? !

I bought a car from this dealer 6 weeks ago. The due date for the first payment is approaching. I did not receive anything in the mail to tell me how to make the payment. I tried to call them 4 times. Each time, they sent me to a voicemail. Nobody returns my call. When I finally got Kelly then Emily on the phone, they keep saying that its the banks problem and I need to call them. They completely washed their hands once the car is out the door. This is a horrible place to do business with. Will never return.

This has been my go to place for service on my Honda. This week I called to make an oil change appointment. I was informed that they only perform this service now first come first served, but we will usually get you in and out in an hour. So today I made the half hour drive to get this done. When I arrived I was told that they were going to lunch and there were four vehicles ahead of me and that I should drop it off. Needless to say I just wasted an hour of my time for nothing. I’m not happy with this new “first come first served “ policy. Anyone want to buy a Honda?

I bought a used 2008 Honda CRV from another source. Since my purchase Ive had several maintenance issues and headaches to match. I went to many auto-shops that unfortunately couldnt fix the issue and over charged me. After my suspicions I took my vehicle to Micheal Houl Honda and Subaru. I was greeted by Mario Perez. He is a friendly fellow with extensive knowledge, a saint to my daughter and I. The team diagnosed my battery issues easily. Ethan in detail gave me a personal ride to Gardnerville and back because the shuttle was full. The prices were fair, mechanics are fast, and people are honest. At the beginning of December, we found ourselves in a unfortunate situation and had to find a car on a time crunch. As first time car buyers, we werent exactly sure what to expect. Our salesman was helpful showing us what we wanted, up until it came to putting in an application. They were somehow able to tell us we werent approved for what we wanted but found something we were approved for, and then said that because I was a student and had limited income they wouldnt be able to put in our application at all without a cosigner. Im not exactly sure how they could show us something we would be approved for when they werent even able to process the applications. We left extremely discouraged and in the same crappy situation we arrived in. Luckily we had a friend recommend we go to Capital Ford and they were able to take care of all of our needs plus some. Coincidentally, we purchased a car at the equivalent cost of the first one we looked at at Honda and were almost immediately told we couldnt afford. Im glad we were turned away or else we wouldnt have gotten such a great deal. It just goes to show where Hondas priorities are with their customer service. They even later followed up with me twice to see if I had found a cosigner so we could make a deal, after I asked them to get rid of my information. Theyre all about the money, but not so much customer satisfaction.

Had to call the service dept. to get help unlocking the radio on a 1998 Honda that I recently bought.(from a used car lot in California)They were real busy, so I had to leave a message, but Rick took the time to get the info and call me back with the code within about an hour. I find that kind of customer service outstanding!Since I have bought two Subarus from this dealership, I was kind of expecting this, they were great when I bought my Subarus in 2005 and 2008, but I am still just so pleased that our local businesses provide this type of service.

I had a great experience at Michael Hohl Honda and would highly recommend them. I live in Reno and decided to head south after feeling like I was getting the run around at a Reno dealership. I came in knowing how much my trade in was worth, and knowing what payment I wanted. I called first and gave them all of my specifics first to make sure we could make a deal without wasting anyones time. I was firm on the payment and told them that upfront. They treated me with respect and they were even great with my 5-year old Son. There was no back and forth with them trying to get a higher payment out of me and no attempt to up sell me on a fancier car. I drove away in my new car in less than 2 hours, including all paperwork, detailing new car, cleaning out junk in my trade in, etc., which is priceless when you have your child with you. I worked with Gordon and Levi, so be sure to ask for them. And Levi even met me in Reno to pick up my spare set of keys for my trade in, which saved me a trip back. If you live in Reno, its worth the trip to Carson. I will definitely return the next time we need a car.

I found a good deal on the car I wanted so I decided to buy at this dealership. All was fine on the test drive and sales end with Jenn. My experience on the financing end leads me to write a one star review. Roque misled me about the warranty, made errors on paperwork to overcharge me, and treated me rudely when I requested a correction. A manager resolved the issue, but the lack of professionalism in the financing department is good reason to avoid this dealership.

We are on vacation. Car wouldn’t start. We managed to get our car to the dealership in the nick of time today on a Saturday morning. The car died completely in front of service! They had someone drive us to the train depot so we could go on our reserved ride to Virginia City. Turned out it was the battery still under warrenty but it took effort in their part to figure that out. Long story short, they saw to our problem right away with no appointment and no charge because it was under warrenty.

I stopped to get the tire pressure checked, as the indicator light had been on. Got into the express service Bay right away. Kind, young mechanic adjusted the air and recalibrate the system. I was in and out in 15 minutes. Very pleased!!

Typical lying used car salesmen and managers. Do not buy from them as they work in shady practices and do not keep their word! I came down to look at trading in my 2014 Accord coupe in for a 2014 sedan they had listed on the internet. contacted them, they said it was ready and that if they couldn’t get me in that or another vehicle for the same price i was paying on my current vehicle, they would give me a 25$ Visa for driving down. Since I live over an hour away I thought it would be worth it even if I didn’t buy. The sedan wasn’t ready, had some transmission problems but they still had me drive it. It was in poor shape so I passed, and test drove a few other comparable vehicles in the same price range. I legitimately was looking to replace my vehicle and signed a piece of paper stating that if we could get the numbers to work, I would buy that day. The sales person took me on a few test drives and was lying through his teeth about things just to talk during the test drives.The sales person was young, and stepped away so that their more experienced, more sleazy, finance director could try to work me in a more lucrative deal. I asked about the visa and the the salesman said he would get it. The finance director stopped trying to work the deal on the cars I test drove that would been under my costs and tried to get me to lease a new vehicle. I told him I liked them, but there was no way that we could get down to the payment I needed without a down payment, but he pushed me to test drive one and that he’d work the numbers. I said if we couldn’t get to the numbers we discussed that I was going to walk away, and he said no problem and that he world get me my Visa card and I’d be on my way. Coming back to the table, he was twice over the monthly payment we discussed, and was still asking for a down payment. I told him that we discussed no down payment, my payment I needed, and that I didn’t even want to lease a new vehicle and that I was leaving. His attitude completely changed, knowing that he wasn’t going to make a deal, because short and rude, and said that they were out of gift cards and that they would mail it to me. It couldn’t have been more obvious that he was making that up and was just upset that he couldn’t talk me into something I told him I didn’t want and would be too expensive. Don’t got to Honda in Carson city, I worked with there staff for months over the internet and thought that maybe they were different. They weren’t, used images on a vehicle that wasn’t ready and lied to my face.

I had called Darrell in the morning to inform him that I would be making a drive to see the car from my home in Sacramento. When I arrived, Darrell took me out side to look at the car. I stated that I would like to see the car in the sun, so I could inspect the paint, etc. He told me to move it myself and that I could also test drive it. I moved it and just waited there for at least 30 mins. I was not instructed by Darrell that I could test drive the car by myself. He never asked for my license. In CA they always ask for your license and make a copy before you test drive any vehicle. I had NO IDEA what was going on with the test drive. Finally Emily, another sales person, came outside to speak with me. Emily was great! She has wonderful customer service skills. Darrell on the other hand was rude and could learn from Emily’s professionalism. That was very unprofessional of him to abandon me the way he did. It was obvious he didnt want to deal with me. He knew I drove all the way from Sacramento, so I was a serious buyer. I wasnt there to waist anyones time. He should have had the common decency to at least pass me on to Emily himself. Not hide behind Emily. His customer service is horrible!!! I have never been treated that way at any dealer. I just was NOT SATISFIED with the car. I am not willing to spend 35k on a car that has over 25 dings just on the hood alone; plus the damage on the bumper. I have been car shopping for a while now, so I know I can find a used car in better condition, than what this dealership has to offer.

Went to turn in a leased vehicle, ended up buying a 2016 Malibu which is a great vehicle.When it came down to the contract, not only did Roque mislead us to believe that the car came with a warranty, which it didn’t it was $3400, he used his veteran card to rip off other veterans.This is absolutely disgusting. He is the scum of the earth to play a veteran card to rip off other veterans.I will be inforiming the VFW, VA and any veteran organization that, Michael Hohl Honda rips off Veterans on purpose. He said, “This car also comes with a warranty”. He did not say we had to pay more for it.If you are a Veteran, avoid this company, they clearly do not care about Vets.

Went in to sign everything one night and they were more than happy to give me what I wanted for my trade and there were no if ands or buts. Then after receiving a crazy expensive offer for financing I said no and they said they could talk to different banks the next day and they would have an answer for me by 10 am. Next day 10 am rolls around and no answer so I call them at 11 am and they say they just got a response back from the bank and it was outrageous and now they can only offer me way less for my trade unless I bring proof of what another dealership offered me because “well we were just going to sell it back to that dealership with that offer” nice little bait and switch. Kaygee was my sales person and seemed to know little to nothing. Every time I asked him something about the car or financing he would say “I’m not sure I’ll have to ask” or “uhh hold on one sec let me see”. So I guess I’ll go to Sacramento and get the car I actually wanted and they are willing to help people out. Buyer beware of Michael Hohl Honda

Good experience with this dealer. After all of the hassle and drama with the dealers in Reno, NV my fiance and I were able to sell our dodge Ram dually 3500 Laramie longhorn edition pickup truck to Michael Hohl Honda. The experience was quick and pleasant thanks to Ralphey the salesman and his sales manager. This dealer practices good business when it comes to selling your vehicle to them. They do not make you wait for hours just for them to change their minds on the price, nor do they nitpick just to try and change their original offer. They stick to their word and they are an honest dealer. I recommend Michael Hohl Honda for selling your vehicle, ask for Ralphey.

This rating is for the service department. My 2009 Honda Civic developed a rattling noise on a long road trip. The service department checked the suspension, trim, wheels, etc and could find nothing wrong. The problem turned out to be leaves wedged between the window and trim, out of visibility. They performed all of these checks free of charge. I have been once before and would definitely go again due to their professional and conscientious work.

Do not recommend. My son wanted to buy his first car before he left for college. They made it impossible for my son to enjoy the car buying experience because they did not get proper copies of his grandfathers out of state IDENTIFICATION card NOT a drivers license and need expiration date which this state does not require. They almost repoed the car when my son had his first payment ready but with out the expiration date they would not let it go through. For my son to be a first time buyer and have to be bothered for a month when they finally came to the conclusion WE were right is very disheartening. Finance and sales need to get their act together. So sad. So very angry.

This place has pretty much all low reviews for a reason. This is for sure your typical screw you over dealership. They are all shady and you are not their priority. My fiancé just got a car here and not only did the deal take weeks to complete but they also lied about a ton of stuff with the car. Now after only 3 weeks of having the car the turbo, intercooler and engine are all needing to be replaced. If you can avoid this place I would totally recommend you do. Waste of time and money. Everyone seems nice but they are all shady. If I could give a 0 star I wouldve. This place sucks.
