When we are in Carlsbad, CA, we often order sandwiches at Board & Brew. Every time we eat here, we leave feeling good about the food in their relaxed atmosphere. Their staff has always been welcoming and helpful.Dining tables and chairs are inside and outside on a patio. We like to eat outside to feel a gentle breeze that makes the lunch relaxing on a nice day. Tables and chairs in both areas show social spacing now.Inside this restaurant is a small bar that serves alcohol. There are chairs around the bar area where the bartender works. A soft drink fountain is on the other side of the room from the bar.This visit to Board & Brew happened around 4:00 PM. Thus, we arrived before the late afternoon crowd. That timing allowed our sandwiches, Turkey Club and Vegi Supreme, to be ready without delay.My Turkey Club sandwich was on a fresh 7.5-inch French stick roll. A sandwich that large is more than I can eat in one sitting. If you like to take what is left, this is made easy at their soda fountain counter, where a box of aluminum wrap and sandwich bags are available for travel.This sandwich shop is in a small corner of this busy shopping center along the entry street at the edge of the parking area. We always find a parking space. However, around mealtimes, the parking gets harder to find, and the waiting line shows people often queued up in the ordering line.

Love the hot sandwiches and the Italian sub. Great quality and good sizes. Will be back.

A truly unique place to eat. I prefer the spicy roast beef and a bottle of coke from Mexico (they use real sugar in those coke and you can taste the difference).The food is fast even when its busy and you can enjoy eating outdoors in the Carlsbad weather. Wash it all down with a very good selection of beer.

This is a nice break from your Subways and Firehouse style sandwiches. While this is still a franchise it doesnt feel like that. The ingredients and breads are fresh and the meat has a deli quality look, feel, and taste! I would definitely recommend you try it for your next sandwich adventure!

Lines are a bit of a bummer, but darn it, they make a great sandwich!(I guess if their product was sub-par there wouldnt be a line of customers!)Sometimes, Ill go to the downtown store, even though parking can be a challenge. (Ill ride my Triumph, as parking is a breeze...)Board & Brew probably has one of the better beef dips in the North County.

Stopped in for the first time to get sandwiches for lunch. I was pleasantly surprised, my sandwich was pretty darn good, a well built turkey club sandwich. Thanks guys!

I dont understand why you would consider going anywhere else for grub. There is only Board n Brew. Tasty and plentiful.

Some of the best sandwiches in San Diego. Get extra sauce...just do it. I almost always just go with the Turkado and occasionally will add bacon.

I love the food but this day I ordered online like normal and I didnt get my food until 45 minutes after the time I scheduled to pick up then was told it was my fault for not saying anything even though I have ordered like this dozens of times and never had a issue always a few minutes late but not normally 45 minutes.

I have known of board and brew for quite a while. I just never had the opportunity to get in there. Today was the day. I picked up a tuna sandwich to split with my wife. And It was the best tuna samaj I ever had out. Looking forward to trying the rest of the menu. The price was right and the serving was huge. These people know how to please. If youre in the mood for a sandwich and ones near you give it a shot you wont be disappointed.

I used to love eating at the original Del Mar location after surf sessions and Im so happy that theyve branched out to a handful of different suburbs around the greater San Diego area. The Bressi Ranch location brings the same delicious menu to North County, albeit more strip-malled in its appearance. True to its roots however, the decor has the Del Mar surf feel and a lineup of top-notch local brews. Of course Board & Brew is still one of the premier sandwich shops in the area as well.Unfortunately the take-out pickup system is terribly managed. Weve sometimes waited 30 minutes passed our estimated pickup time, watching the minutes tick away in the sun next to 20 other people. There is no room to wait, so people hang out in the parking lot, etc. It feels like a free-for-all with no queue or organization. The pandemic has surely made things difficult for restaurants, but Im surprised that this Board & Brew hasnt learned a thing or two from their peers.

Employees do not wear masks as per cdc recommendation that vaccinated individuals also rewear masks due to rising delta cases. 8/6/2021Also double check your food, they’re not including the sauces anymore without asking for it.

I got the veggie sandwhich and was only able to take 2 bites. I am not sure what was rancit in the sandwhich but I could not force myself to take another bite. I brought my sandwhich back to the counter and explained to them that IT wasnt edible, the offered to remake it I declined expecting the would just refund me being it was obvious I did not eat it. They did NOT give me the option to have my Money refunded although they offered to remake my sandwhich

The Tub o Tuna is the Bomb! Super tasty sandwiches and cold brews, excellent.

Doesn’t matter what sandwich you get just get a ramekin of sauce for each half a sandwich. Dip each bite and enjoy!

Friendly staff and consistently good food. I am a big fan of the turkado sandwich on squaw bread, but the roast beef spicy is good, too. Reasonable local brew selection on tap with separate bar for casual diners. Can be very busy during the lunch rush, but the move to the new location brings a great deal more seating space. Great place to go after work for food to go or a beer with friends!

Killer sandwiches. Friendly service. Prompt takeout. The outdoor dining was set up in a covid-19 conscious manner. The special sauce is so delicious, dont skip it.

Had a pretty darn good baja wrap. I would describe it as basically chicken fajitas wrapped in a spinach tortilla wrap. Good flavor. Tortilla was not too thick or chewy. I would definitely order it again. Do you like chicken fajitas? Then try it.

Baja beef sando with horseradish and sweet and sour sauce! Game changer! Super delicious sandwiches paired with delicious beers (coffee stout, need I say more?) at $3 are a solid value. Customer service is phenomenal and ambiance is super chill. A staple of San Diego.

Honestly this place has gone under my radar for so long now. Upon finally trying it after my brother in laws recommendations. It has easily turned into my #1, most favorite sandwich shop in all of San Diego. I never thought Id find a better Philly Steak Sandwich anywhere. But thier Baja Beef may not be your traditional Philly Steak, it is EASILY MY FAVORITE STEAK and Melted Cheese. I like to substitute the jalapeño for pepperchinis and viola, Best steak melted cheese sandwich anywhere! Puts Jersey Mikes to SHAME! Cant even compare with prices either. All around better food for less money ~ Hands Down! Hello to my new go to sandwich shop! Board & Brew your the best!

Used their online ordering service. You can create your order and select a time for it to be ready for pickup. I noticed the online ordering process isnt consistent among the various locations, however I was still able to get what I needed. The food is always killer. I recommend the Baja Chicken, it definitely has some spice!

Stopped by Board & Brew for some lunch and loved every bite! I got the French Dip and it was as good or better than any rival Ive had from anywhere. Their pickup system works great and efficiently during these crazy days, so dont get of Kareny if you see a long line, it really wont take long.

Im a huge fan of this place. They know how to make a tasty sandwich! My go-to is the California delight with avocado. Friendly staff and they have a nice outdoor seating section.

No surprise that without being able to sit and drink, this place becomes just another sandwhich place.

We love Board & Brews amazing sandwiches! My favorite is their Veggie Sandwich on their amazing squaw bread. But their sandwich sauce is what sets them apart. This deli is always hopping, but they never make me wait too long. They are great for dine in or take out.

This is the worst Board and Brew location. They have the worst service and the food is inconsistent. Don’t order over the phone because they’ll forget and you’ll have to wait an extra 40 minutes when you get there (they actually lost the ticket twice). Not only that but they don’t make up for their mistake. They didn’t offer any sort of compensation (discount, free drink, etc.) The staff is also super rude and look like they’re stoned out of their mind. Drive to the one by the beach. Way better.

Love this place but this location always has terrible service. It was not busy at all and I waited 20 minutes for a sandwich. I saw the order sit inside ready the whole time. Again; it was not even busy.

Great food, great service, and great people. I have been there 4 times already. And each time, I have been greeted and spoken to like they knew me. I loved that. Also, the sandwiches are amazing. Really the best sandwiches Ive ever had. Plus beer on the side makes it the perfect place for lunch.

This place is great, always perfect customer service and great food. Best 8 buck sandwich around. Potato salad is ok but super bland. Outside area is great to relax for a bit and enjoy a frosty cold barley pop.

Their roasted pork shoulder with creamed corn and Chinese broccoli was fantastic. The pork shoulder was the best I have ever had. And BYOB makes it easy to have fabulous meal and a good price. Will definitely be coming back.

Always delicious subs and fast service. The online ordering feature needs a little more work though honestly. If you put in an order the store should automatically get the order...it seems like there is a delay, like youre order wont be ready for 30 minutes after you put your order in whereas at other food places your order is ready in 10 minutes. I say fast service because when I went in and they still hadnt received my online order, they made it right away for me anyways. Friendly staff and unique good quality food. Oh but make sure you can eat the whole sub because the bread gets very stale quickly so you cant really save it for later.

The sauce here is to die for! I have actually bought bottles of it ($6). All sandwiches are good from the hearty Baja Beef to the Veggie Supreme, there is something for everyone. Im taking one star off because their tomatoes are always mealy every single time.

Good sandwiches, great place to go for lunch. They also have a good selection of beer and a small bar, if you go during peak hours be prepared for crowds and sitting outside. The sweet and sour sauce they promote for everything is good but I think overrated.

This place has really good sandwiches and salads. I judge a good sandwich by comparing it to what I can make at home. I cant say much about the beer because I dont drink it but my wife likes it there. The staff is nice also.

I eat here regularly. They have the best deli style sandwiches. Their customer service is second to none. My sandwich came with the wrong bread and I accepted the different bread, but that wasnt good enough. An associate can back and presented a gift card for $10 and apologized for the error and said my next lunch was on the house. They go out of their way to be awesome. If you have never had B&B, come down and be amazed.

Great sandwiches. The new store is even better since there is more space and not tables. They added a bar and have a TV with whats currently on tap and whats coming soon. Always get the sauce for your sandwich, it is amazing

Awesome sandwiches every time I go! Its close to home (Bressi Ranch location) and quick to get. Ingredients are fresh and tastes fantastic. I absolutely looooove their Board and Brew Secret Sauce! Ive gotten everything from the turkado to the Baja chicken and have never been disappointed. Its super laid back and staff is way nice.

5 stars for quality, 3 for service, 4 for value.The food is always fresh and well executed. Service is either great or its pretty bad depending on who is working. For value, prices are a bit high, but offset by the quality. Not my usual place, but an in between choice. The menu is small which makes for redundant options if you go multiple times. Try the cobb, its very good.

Food has gone down hill in the past year. Chicken club has half the chicken now. Went from 2-3 good size patties to one thinly pounded chicken flap. Baja beef used to be strips of skirt steak, now its only bits of shredded steak in a massive amount of stale bread. Not worth the $10 asking price for sandwiches.

This place has great sandwiches. The turknado is one if my favs. They are huge enough for 2 meals. They also have a decent selection if craft beers. During the month of April they had $3 beers all day....cant pass that deal up! Staff is friendly and I really like that they bring your good to your table thats a plus given its a fast food type establishment. I would consider this place upscale casual dining. This should be your go to place for a gourmet sandwich in Carlsbad!
