Very helpful, had a small home project I was helping a friend with and they went above and beyond to get me the right parts.
Helpful staff, surprisingly large selection
Always very helpful, and the only true hardware store left along Mass Ave from Central or Harvard square.
Helpful, good selection of hardware
Good variety of things and very nice staff
A gem of a resource for anyone who needs to get stuff done around the house. You name it and the knowledgeable people at the Covid-safe front counter can tell you if they have it and where to find it. If its not on the rack theyll go check the stock in a mysterious rmpkoyee-only lower level. If it can be ordered, theyll order it. I have purchased everything from hose clamps to epoxy putty to box-cutter replacement blades to a plastic sheeting storm window for my slidere. Theres even a small selection of kitchen appliances. Support this store. Its one of the last ones standing and deserves to continue because it dies its job wonderfully.
Life saver
I love this place! Definitely a Cambridge staple that I hope stays around for a very long time!
Always helpful! Blessing for folks living around the area!
Easy to find. Good selection. Will visit again.
Great little hardware store right in the heart of Central. The store is pretty small, but they always seem to have whatever random hardware Im looking for. Prices are reasonable and staff are helpful at pointing out where the item Im looking for is located.
The manager was extremely helpful and honest. And I love my newly painted walls! I will definitely come back here for all my home improvement needs in the future.
Like any of the few remaining neighborhood TruValue franchisees, Pill Hardware is not as comprehensive as the box store hardware stores -- but they have what you need to make plumbing and household repairs, paint, clean, purchase and store basic tools, plant and maintain lawns and gardens, set up a kitchen or bathroom, and cut keys and blinds. Their prices may be slightly higher on certain items than a box store -- but you didnt spend gas, mileage on your car, and time going out of your way to get there. Best of all, you are supporting a disappearing tradition of diverse Main Street businesses all within walking distance.
If you ever need help at this location, ask for Danny. Hes my go to guy at this store, hes very knowledgeable and helpful with information. Its a great neighborhood hardware store and I find the staff at this location much more friendly and helpful than the downtown location. I get anything from getting keys made, to paint, to orchid bark from this great, neighborhood hardware store.
I was disappointed that they dont seem to stock #8 fender washers. I should have gone to Inman Hardware.
Nice hardware store with a wide range of products. Staff were helpful and friendly. Prices were a bit high but that is expected in the city.
Ive come here a few times for random items, and each time the worker has been very friendly and knowledgeable. Prices are very fair as well. My go-to spot for hardware-related purchases near Cambridge.
Great place you can find what you need for your last minute home repairs etc...Parking lot across the street behind 7-ELEVEN and 2 minutes walking distance from subway Red Line - Central Square Station.
Amazing variety of things youd never guess that they have! And Benjamin Moore paints!
Im always impressed with the variety of hardware that they manage to fit into their small shop space. Prices are a bit higher than the big box stores, but thats typical of places that can boast spitting distance to a T stop. And Ive never had complaints about the staff. This place is perfect for picking up supplies for small odd jobs.
Wide variety of things: tools, cleaning supplies, putting soil..found a buncha stuff I needed.
Great ppl and service
Pros: Helpful staff. Conveniently located. Good hours. Will copy keys.Cons: Limited selection of items. This isnt Home Depot.
Neighborhood hardware store. Tools, paint, lumber, screws, keys made and house hold goods. Friendly staff.
I lost a nut on my skateboard and they checked all of the imperial nuts, all of the metric ones, and help tighten one on all for less than a dollar. Such nice and helpful customer support
Very helpful and fun staff. I always come here to make key duplicates and its affordable and quick. A lot is packed into this local hardware store!
Relatively small hardware store which, like many similar stores, seems to pack in everything you might need. It has a long presence in the area and, as such, has become the go-to neighborhood store. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. I have had keys made there a few times and they have never worked. Parking is challenging in Cambridge in general, but the MBTA red line Central Square subway station is located just down the street. Central Square has unfortunately suffered from lax policing and absurd Cambridge policies to the extent that the entire neighborhood has become rundown and this has rubbed off on the store to an extent; dirty and weathered store front, heroin addicts stumbling by, etc.
Great little inner city hardware store.
My go-to place for copying keys. They were able to copy a type of key that even Home Depot couldnt. Score one for the little guy!
Nice employees
So the prices can be a little higher than your typical Big Box store the staff is friendly helpful and accommodating unlike the big box stores. Great for picking up handyman materials and quick buys for small repair jobs I love this place.
Knife sharpening service is awesome, they have every key blank you need.
Decent neighborhood hardware store. Surprisingly large selection for a small store. Even has a color matching machine.
Where else are you going to go for fasteners on short notice?
Friendly, helpful staff, amazingly good selection for a small store. I always seem to be able to find what I need.
Great spot, very helpful if somewhat quiet staff, and I always find what I need plus a little extra! The prices are good given the convenience, location, and assistance.
Great hardware store, really helpful people. Only hardware store Ive seen in the area!
Very convenient for all your hardware needs
Good spot to go in and out and grab some hardware, very close to the T. I cant speak to their more involved offerings since I think I only had some keys duplicated and bought some locks.
I called asking if they had a specific piece in metric and they said yes. When I made the 30 min trip to get them they did not have any. Please try to verify your stock.
Granted its a small space, but they always have what I need!
Acceptable hardware store for simple needs, but fairly unhelpful staff. Sold very small gauge jumper cables to a woman in my family on the assumption that she didnt know what she was talking about.
Great store helpful people convienient when working in the neiborhood. They had what i needed.
Very nice staff and always very good service
Very nice staff and price is reasonable.
Use it when necessary nice staff
Excellent service.
The cut key didnt open the lock, was getting stuck, and when pulled off, broke the lock (the lock wasnt new, but worked fine with other, old keys)
Can get your keys duplicated here...
Tons of stuff packed in to a small place.
Not very helpful over the phone!
Friendly service!
Deceptively large
Awesome
Very good
