Just worst whole food store ever. The food in their hot and cold bar look stale. Forget about getting pizza there.. its been left there so long the crust is crunchy. Ohh and you want to get a sandwich? Better schedule 25 minutes and wait to have your sandwich made.Avoid this place. Id would give 1/2 a star if I could.
We ate in store tonight. Because we are from West coast, we are 3 hours behind. The food (self serving buffet, picked cauliflower and green beans, 7 chicken wings) and soup were very good. We bought green tea mochi for dessert. $16 total.
Selection was fine, but checkout was so slow! My husband said hes never seen people move so slowly and still be alive.
Love the wine selection and they keep produce well stocked and fresh. Friendly cashiers too. You can recycle plastic bags and packaging in garage.
Love this store. Fresh organic food. Convenient location!
Well, if I can still give 4 stars knowing its one of Jeffrey Bs playthings, I guess Ill also give Amazon high-ish marks, too... >sigh
They put on a show for the customers. Beautiful store.
Good place to eat.and they have free valley parking.
Always clean and packed with great options.
Excellent Whole Foods. Large with good inventory. Parking is ample including a small area of covered parking. Best part? This Whole Foods has beer and wine!
A clean grocery store, good for groceries
Did curbside pickup (today at 7pm) and the person who packed my car was lovely. She made great conversation and everything felt very COVID safe.
Great store and concept.
Check your receipts! I was charges $11 for an item advertised at $7. After I checked my receipt, they corrected at customer service, but how many people didn’t notice? I have had similar issues in the past as well.
Spacious with a large selection and this store definitely takes COVID precautions seriously. Not much to say except that they do have a coffee/kombucha counter inside as well as a bar upstairs. The only thing is of course the prices, but its a Whole Foods so you already knew that walking in.
Excellent selection of fresh produce and all natural products
Well-maintained. Bigger store than other Whole Foods in Cambridge: LOTS of selections! Things are on the expensive side, especially for meat, but thats expected given its Whole Foods. Staff is generally nice.
Nice and clean; excellent selection of food
Good store NICE staff !
Expensive but very enjoyable atmosphere
Pretty nice Whole Foods, pretty convient spot for being in a big city, and they have an elevator, escalator, and stairs to enter. Staff was nice, and helpful, would definitely buy groceries here again. Produce was good also.
Great selection and very clean. They even have attendants at the entrance and at the carts to keep things sterilized.
They had a nice selection. The store was stocked with everything on my list. The produce was fresh. I was overcharged by cashier.
Good assortment of healthy foods
Nice and clean with all the healthy food options youll need
I had high hopes for this place but the latte they gave me was molten lava. Ive never been served coffee so hot. Normal lattes are served using a machine for the espresso which is at a medium high temperature but the one they gave me was like if they using boiling water to make it. Usually adding the milk to the espresso cools down the latte but Im guessing they poured boiling oat milk in my drink cause it wasnt cooled in any way possible. It took an hour and the ice cold winter of Boston to cool it down to warm enough to drink.
Delicious, freshly made pastries and fruit cups. Thank you!
Long line and almost full parking lot on a Sunday morning. Also it has a small capacity because of covid
They have very fresh and delicious food, it definitely worths paying a little bit extra more to get this quality items :)
Not as big as it looks from the outside but nonetheless a good whole foods. I went here before the Amazon takeover and enjoyed the staff. Under new ownership the staff seem to care less. I have nothing against them but they use to seem like they love their job and now seem fairly robotic. Good selection of food and beer and is always clean!
Way to expensive and the staff is very clueless as to product information! Get your act together folks, learn your products!
Too many personal shoppers crowding at-risk customers during designated senior/compromised shoppers hours. Stock availability unpredictable.
River Street Whole Foods is almost always a delight. Except for one bad experience with a grouchy produce worker, everyone is helpful and attentive.
A slightly bigger Walmart, has a decent beer and whine section along with the regular grocery
Nice for an emergency stop, but still a whole foods that only has hipster style products. A lot like trader joes.
Its more like a machine when you go in there all the food is packaged so you have to buy five pieces instead of one.Its owned by Amazon its a cash cow
Great location, great food selections and snacks
Fair warning,, while this is a decent while foods, theyve been closing way before the time on their sign... If its getting late, dont waste your time coming here.
For prospect St store in Cambridge MA. Convenient. Very small, always packed. Like all Whole Foods post-Amazon, has lost its character. Must make tons in revenue per year off its loyal customers, but doesn’t provide a bathroom for their use.
Whole foods is not what it used to be. The selection is not what it was, and the items the store has cannot be relied on to be there on your next visit. When it was Bread and Circus the store had a unique quality where you would find all sorts of specialty foods. But now it is more mainstream then ever. Yes, they do have some items you wont find elsewhere, but it is not on a par with Trader Joes. The prices are also too high compared to Trader Joes. Maybe there are some good Whole Foods Markets still out there, but the three I frequent in Cambridge just dont have a good enough selection any more. I dont go to them much anymore because they just dont have what I need.
Great selection at this whole foods (specifically bread, vegetables, and prepared foods), friendly staff, and the checkout lines are always quick!
I love this store and the selections i find. However, lately the fruit I am purchasing really starts to go bad in 24 hours. The fruit looks wonderful but despite being organic and looking very attractive in the display, it goes bad quickly. I say this to encourage WF to figure out what is it that makes for fruit to have to be returned repeatedly. I will not buy fruit there anymore because I do not want to make extra unnecessary trips tot he store.
Great choice of foods. A little pricey but usually worth it.
Friendly staff, and helpfullAll staff work extremely hard I always notice
Nothing better than a well-stocked store.
I will never buy fish from this Whole Foods ever again I spent $40 on a red snapper whole and I asked if they could butterfly and remove bones. I was going to buy fish from from fromaggio in Cambridge but I decided to buy it here at Whole Foods and they said they could do it and when I got home they didn’t butterfly it they literally murdered it there’s so many bones in it and I basically couldn’t even use it anymore. So next time when you’re shopping don’t buy whole fish unless you can cut it, Because the store has no idea how to cut fish at all I should’ve picked up on the signals when the first person said they couldn’t do it and then the second person says oh yeah I can do it. I’m so disappointed
I come to this Whole Foods all the time to grocery shop. The selection is good and the prices are pretty good too, especially the Prime Deal items. However the quality of the meat and produce have gone down since the Amazon acquisition and often I have to return meat after getting home because it has gone bad.
Quality that you can expect from Whole Foods.
Very nice and convenient location. Great selection of items as usual, good stuff on sale, and a massive section of booze. Dont forget to bring your own bag! and grab a pizza on the way out.
Great selection of good quality products. Most of the food is organic and always very fresh. If you are not satisfied with the quality of the products, they will refund you with no question. It is a bit pricey though but as they say, you get what you pay for...
Particularly large Whole Foods establishment, huge and diverse selection, always friendly staff nearby. Prefer heading to this one even though there is another Whole Foods much closer to us. It also has plenty of space for maneuvering a baby stroller or a wheelchair, which cannot be said of the smaller one closer to us.
European quality in America!
Fantastic! Great selection of everything? We got sandwiches and sushi to take back home. The strange thing was, the cashier “carded” me when I bought a can of beer. Do I look that young? Thank you very much!!!
Sigh. We have been shopping here for years, and loved it. However, post-Amazon, the quality of the produce has gone down hill dramatically. It frequently goes bad in 24 hours of purchase. We are considering alternatives. As Wholefoods has been declining, the Star Market in Brighton on Comm Ave has been getting better, although it has a long way to go. We are also starting to buy our produce at Russos in Watertown. I wish Market Basket could open something nearby.
Its hard to rate a Wholefoods without having some type of superlative experience. Today we needed a few simple items (peaches and olive oil for peach and pesto pizza), which they had (both good quality for a good price), and some oatmeal. I put together a savory oatmeal with a soft poached egg, crispy bacon, kale + garlic, some roasted butternut squash and fried plantain. Erin had oatmeal and raisins. Ate in store - a little awkwardly placed, not super clean, but reasonably comfortable. Good experience. Certainly satisfied. 4 stars? I guess so.
Surprisingly theres always parking available. A nice alternative option to the Trader Joes nearby, which just doesnt carry as many items. Produce here is always top notch (but waaaay more expensive than pretty much any other supermarket).
This is the best whole food ever. Because its big. There is not too many people. And it has a huge parking lot. And it only like 10 minutes from down town Boston. If you go by car this is your place.
This is the worst Whole Foods in the whole Boston area. I’m ok to pay premium price on a quality food, but the food is not even there sometimes. Soups are never refreshed on time, and only in few kinds - clam chowder, sweet coconut and “mamas chicken,” pizza slices are often over cooked or burnt right away. It’s sad, because there is a great example of another Whole Foods in South End, and that store provides exceptional service and good quality and diversity of food.
Like most WFs the place is consistent with local and organic foods. Parking underneath the shop is available for those who dont want to get rained or snowed on. They offer a service to bring your groceries down to ground level and load them in your car for you as well.
Good produce section, with a decent beer and wine selection as well. Cashiers are always friendly. Parking can be tight during busy shopping times. Early mornings are usually the best.
This has got to be the best grocery store around. Whats really nice about it is if you drive, you can send your bags down and they load them into your car for you. They also have a great selection of local and fresh foods. The staff are very friendly.
Good layout and assortiment. Friendly staff. Bit too expensive.
Excellent, helpful staff! 👏 👏
Its a pretty standard Whole Foods, but with alcohol. Well maintained and the staff is friendly. I dont have any major complaints about this store, but there is a Trader Joes with alcohol not far away and they are generally cheaper.
Above average quality grocery at ridiculously expensive price. Yes I hate to give it one star but Trader Joe (similar quality almost 30% cheaper), Wegmans have (significantly better/premium quality and half price). Taking advantage of convenient locations and charging 1.5x 😪. I only go if I need something absolutely immediately.
Very nicely maintained grocery store. Everything is well organized and presented. Ample parking and great selection of fresh produce
Can be expensive, but has a very interesting selection of items!
You know the drill. Mix of regular, organic and local products. Download the app if you’re an Amazon Prime Member.
The pizza here is surprisingly good. $7 for two slices but the slices are generous. They also carry black label GTs kombucha which Ive never actually seen in a grocery store until today. They carry beer too.
One of the better Whole Foods in area, 10x better than one 10 min north, great location, great selection of everything
I love Whole Foods, especially now that I’m noticing the cheaper amazon prices. Just a pro tip for my fellow consumers, always ask for and review your receipt. There’s been one too many times I’ve been charged for items that aren’t mine.
This is the larger of two Whole Foods markets within a few minutes of Central square. It has a nice selection of wine, beer, produce, etc. Whole Foods has some funny corporate rules on acceptable ingredients that make it hard to find some good local staples, and the prices are as high as you would expect, but its a nice grocery store for its stated purpose.
Sending people home for wearing Black life matters masks is disgraceful, you won’t be seeing any of my circle of friends business anymore
Where I live there are no Whole Foods Markets, and so I shop here whenever I visit from Pennsylvania. I especially appreciate the quality and diversity of products. The produce department is my favorite.
Nice to see some integrity.
Excellent goods!!!! PRICEY ENOUGH TO KILL YOUR WALLET!!! They do have some specials but NOT OFTEN ENOUGH!!!!Whole Foods, heres a lesson in bargaining with your customer BASE-----WHITE FOLLOW THE LEADER---FARMERS MARKET!!! Farmers Markets also have an EXCELLENT system to help EBT card holders save!!! So take out a pen and pad and start taking notes, including for your whole body department!!
Nice view in the seating area on the 2nd floor.
Its a big store and every department is stocked with everything you want. The only problem is the parking, depending on the time of day. The lot is very small and you should expect to wait for a parking space.
Clean beautiful produce. Love the butcher shop
Love this whole foods, best one in the area!
Great hot bar.
This is one of the coolest stores I have gone to from this chain.
The best grocery store around, with all the things a cook expects. If you are a serious cook or a foodie, this place is for you ;) The store itself is really convenient and clean, check out is efficient.
Peter McCann the wine buyer for this location was simply amazing! I came into this location for the first time and was very surprised by their wine selection and a little overwhelmed. Then Peter appeared out of no where, as if he were a wine savior! He gave my friends and I awesome advice and knowledge on many wines in store. Also gave us reccomendations based upon our meal we were going to cook that night! Peter really bought some amazing eclectic choices I have never seen at any liquor store. With many different depths and flavors! Thank you Peter and you should be rewarded for your amazing customer service!- Trent, Brandon & Kris
Much bigger than other locations in Cambridge and has more variety of stuff. Great selection of in house smoked fish
The best Wholefoods in Cambridge! Not quite as big as Fresh Pond, but well stocked and faster than FP.
The salad prep area was very handy. They also had a great selection of sushi.
This is one of the new-design urban Whole Foods where you have to ascend an elevator to shop and theres a large parking garage on the ground floor. This is kind of silly because the store is completely surrounded by parking. I relied on this store for takeout food while staying at the Courtyard Marriott a couple block away and was reminded how I dont appreciate the bland flavor profile of WFs prepared foods, especially for the price. If youre staying at the Marriott, get your takeout at Trader Joes instead. its cheaper, and much closer.
Too expensive. A case of coconut water is $44. Two stars because they actually had yeast, unlike the Trader Joes down the street, but meeting the minimum standard of has food on shelves is not praiseworthy. Shop elsewhere if possible.
A nice Whole Foods but when you order gluten free from the food prep and they tell you its not was me at this store but the sign advertising it is national and cannot be edited you wonder why this store cannot offer gluten free items like the rest.
A good whole foods with decent cold/hot bar and deli/grab and go foods. Large atrium with tables so you can eat there. This one has wine and beer.
Nice place
