First time coming to this shop. Dark colors used for interior decorating, lots of black and green. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Fairly clean (bathroom could be somewhat cleaner) and staff was somewhat friendly. Lots of flavor options on their ice cream menu. Coffee and other snacks available. Tried the salted caramel cookies n cream ice cream. Smooth and creamy and tasted exactly as the name says and describes. Would come back to try other options off the menu.
Excellent icecream at a reasonable price.
Great ice cream!! I would definitely come back here again.
GREAT ICE CREAM ... A BIT PRICY, UNIQUE FLAVORS!We got a large with 3Flavors ($6.30): ube, cake batter and C^3 aka cookie cubed!!!We loved seeing ube, as it’s not a common flavor at ice creams, but it was mid tier ube flavor imo!We really enjoyed the C^3 and Cake Batter, would recommend!!!@hungryhungryhumans_
Good ice cream. They have had *one* sugar-free selection every time Ive come, but its been pretty limited options: vanilla, peppermint, and chocolate every time. Maybe there are more options in rotation. But its be nice to have a wider selection of sugar-free flavors rather than just one.Staff has always been phenomenal. Super friendly and very accommodating. But kind staff cant make new flavors! Give the #sugarisevil crowd what it needs!P.S. While I cant personally endorse sugar or its consumption, all my sugar-eating friends whove gotten ice cream here before really like all the flavors theyve had. But sugar is highly addictive, so take that for what you will. ;)
Amazing ice cream, well worth if you want to spend the money to get it.
Long line, but quick service. Delicious ice cream!
Ice cream was good but service was bad. We went 2 times and there was different staff each night.Nobody was wearing masks properly, staff was disorganized and not serving customers in a timely fashion, often ignoring customers for long periods of time.Overall, we will be going to different ice cream stores in the future.
Not worth the price. Ordered a peanut cup sundae that looked nothing like the picture they had. Very disappointed!
I mean, who doesnt love JP Licks?
Fits nicely into the Cambridge scene.
The Xtra thick milkshake was pretty disappointing, very watery and not chocolatey at all - which - for $10 was utterly not worth it. My girlfriend got the wild berry sorbet which was icy and unflavorful, so we tossed it out on the way home. Service staff was great though, just bad ice cream.
Ghetto staff who dont fill orders properly and are rude and impatient kids. Have to have manager fill order every time
The ice cream sundaes, yogurts and drinks are amazing. Im not a huge fan of their hot chocolate which claims to be Bostons best so Im not sure about that. Definitely try their monthly specials.
Got the best hot chocolate in Boston and a butter croissant. The best hot chocolate in Boston is tasteless. I got the El diablo version with cayenne pepper in. It didnt taste like anything - you can barely taste cocoa. The butter croissant is boring and is too heavy. Service okay, but not too friendly. Not recommended :-)
The absolute BEST ice cream in Boston and the one thing I miss the most about studying here. I have honestly been hard pressed to find ice cream as good as JP Licks outside of the northeast. Their birthday cake cone is perfect and their seasonal flavors are never to be missed. March and April tend to be incredibly strong, as do Oct and Nov. Love, love, love JP Licks.
Lots of options in terms of ice cream and the format you want it in. The ice cream is definitely a lot creamier than most. You are allowed to sample them also. Very classic flavours along with unique ones. There is a decent amount of seating area here. It is slightly pricey but they do give a good portion.
So. Dang. Good.Just go there.
Amazing desserts and friendly staff! Their pistachio flavor tastes different but it was amazing. Worth the money.
I live their ice cream!!!
Good ice cream. Hot chocolate was meh.
Ice-cream and service always excellent. Always a pleasure to have J.P.Licks. My two favorites are in Harvard Square and Davis Square.
Its nice to know when you walk into an establishment that you support and they know you and recognize you that good feeling theyre amazing
Wouldve been 5 stars but they were sold out of my flavor. Very creamy, fresh tasting ice cream.
Solid quality ice cream shop with reasonable pricing. I like to order a pint and polish it off in the store...dont judge. Im not a fan of frozen yogurt, but their peanut butter chip hard yogurt actually tastes like ice cream, and not like an excuse for ice cream. I love their thin mint ice cream, but sadly its only available one month a year. The lines do get unreasonably long in the summer.
Love their ice cream. And whipped cream! Omg the best
Cute shop with good options, and not everything is dairy! Vegan friendly options!
Nice ice creams shop. They have a unique set of flavours. Ask for a sample before buying. Dont feel shy ! :)
Great shakes!
Loved the ice cream! They have a variety of fun flavors, anyone can find one that they will love. There was a bit of a line when in there, but that is because it is so good!
Very good
This is the absolute best ice cream I have ever had! They have awesome flavor selection, and the ice cream is thick and creamy with delicious chunks of ingredients. The shop doesn’t have much indoor or outdoor seating, and it can get crowded and claustrophobic when it’s busy, but it’s so worth it. Prices are a little high, but portions are huge!
I had great experience. Delicious ice cream with super staff. Next time I am in Boston, i wont miss on JP licks for sure. Thank you guys!
Awesome ice cream.I am ice cream lover, and this is actually one of the best places I ever had been to. I loved the coffee flavor, the cappachino one. The girl who was serving us was so kind, a must go place. I visited Boston as tourist, went here by mistake, but now o can say things happen for the best.I wish I could try more, the coffee ones were so great, all coffee were roasted in house.
I’m simple in loving for JP Licks! Very very goood location is wonderful. This one is really small but still serves up lots of delicious flavors, just good luck finding seating in the cold months.
Cool location to meet with coworkers. There was fast, efficient, and courteous service. The bill wont shock you. Feeling here is similar to a cafe in San Jose I liked.
Great ice cream and shakes 🤩🤩
Great coconut almond milk ice cream. Not too bad in pricing. Fun environment with a great atmosphere and decor 👍🏼👍🏼
Great ice cream place and the frappes are heavenly. However, I would not necessarily recommend getting coffee from an ice cream shop. It is good enough if youre in a pinch though.
Fast, friendly service. Delicious ice cream! Can’t complain! I love their size options, the smallest one was the perfect amount for me!
Loooove JP Licks! Very location is wonderful. This one is really small but still serves up lots of delicious flavors, just good luck finding seating in the cold months.
This trendy chain ice cream store offers quality treats, coffee and capuchino; with a dormitory feel.
My son loves this place! I cant say anything about their icecream because I am vegan. They actually have few vegan friendly options!! I have try one of them and I liked it.
Their own handmade Ice cream with some unique flavours.I had banana peanut butter ripple and was so impressed by the natural banana flavour. They do have flavoured yogurts, ice cream cakes and hot chocolate. The Diablo hot chocolate was a good try- chilli flavored hot chocolate which gives a tinge of spice to sweet.Do not expect a seat to sit, its usually crowded.Walkable from Harvard T station.
Great place & friendly staff! Loved it there. The best thing is that it opens later than most cafes in the area, come here for a late night latte!
This is it. Best in Boston and a well earned reputation neverending parade of new flavors and combinations. Great mix-in options, espresso shots in milkshakes & frappes or as affogato. Just spectacular all around. Super busy during this hours. But worth the wait even then.
Great friendly staff! We shared a great scoop of chocolate minty chip in a chocolate covered waffle cone that was YUMMY! The waffle cone must have been made today as it was so crunchy and good. Cozy spot for smooth coffee and if you can snag the window seats, it makes for interesting people watching.
The Harvard Sq. store is very nice, but J.P licks are great in general! Their membership program is excellent, we basically have free ice-cream a few times a year (on b-day, etc.) This store has very interesting decorations and graphic creations by the staff on the walls. It also has interestingly shaped tables...
Good ice cream... some is lactate free or gluten free
Good ice cream and variety of toppings. Has dairy free options.
Jp Licks is a great ice cream place! Good flavor variety and the ice cream is creamy, delicious, and well done. Would reccomend
Cool location to meet with coworkers. the service here is better than most. the place has a cool feel to it.
I ordered a sundae with a scoop of cappuccino crunch, fudge sauce, and walnuts. Service and ice cream were very good.
A wide range of flavors, and with the late hours you defitenly have time to pick your favorite. As a bonus, its a great place to people watch right up til closing time.
Just walked out of this joint with my usual maple butter walnut/rum raisin/sweet cream covered with peanut butter sauce-AWESOME combination-and onto my bus home when a staff memeber, Ill have to get his name, suddenly was knocking on the bus door to get my Star Wars water bottle back to me!! STELLAR SERVICE!!!
J.P. Licks is a Cambridge classic. It is a fun place to go to blow off steam after a big test. Their ice cream is always really good and they always have a ton of inventive, cool flavors that constantly change. Sometimes though the people who work there can be a little annoying and want to rush you.
Underwhelming ice cream. Not many flavors to choose from, but interesting flavors. We had a Sufganiyot flavor. It was quite expensive and the ice cream itself had those unpleasant ice crystals in them, and the ice cream wasnt as creamy as it is at most MA establishments. Cute interior.
HUGE LINE. Not sure what was going on, because after a certain point the line started to move really fast and when I got to order it was fast and when I got to pay it was fast....I wish people would have let me go around them but there was no room! Put some signs up or tell people who are waiting for their ice cream to let others pass!great flavors and they give you a lot more than what they say so maybe get a size smaller.
One of the best places at Harvard square serving kosher food
This is the best ice-cream you can get in Boston. Service is excellent- if you want to sample anything they are more than willing to let you try anything and give recommendations. There are constantly new seasonal flavors being offered!
Yes, the ice cream was amazing, as was the hot chocolate. Line was long, so be prepared. Also, I thought a great value...the double was a ton of ice cream.
Yum Yum Yum!!! Didn’t even get a chance to take a photo. Got vanilla strawberry combo with caramel on top. J.P. Licks came highly recommended. For such a busy spot, i spent less than 10mins. Safe to say i’d be back for sure.
Smoothies are also great. Made with low fat soft yogurt and real fruits.
I love their cucumber ice cream and peanut butter chocolate ice cream. The service was quick so we didnt have to wait too long in line. The people were nice.
Great Kosher food including: coffee drinks and ice cream with a few options for breakfast as well! The people there are always sweet and the location is stellar as it is directly adjacent to Harvards campus
Great ice cream great service. They have non dairy options as well which was a plus their coffee was also very tasty.
Great local spot for ice cream, coffee, other dessert. Plant-based ice cream options!
Amazing. Id eat here again. Im looking forward to eating there again while Im in town. Go go brownie brownie batter.
The place had a huge crowd the ice cream was delicious however it didnt cut it for me since I am used to oberweis ice cream.
The ice cream is always good but if there’s a decent neighborhood place around I usually go with the neighborhood place. Licks can be a little over priced for the serving size compared to some smaller places.
