This restaurant is awesome. During the pandemic, I found this restaurant and at the time it was offering delivery. Now that they have reopened their dining room they no longer offer delivery. We went to see the actual restaurant today. It is incredibly charming and spacious. The food is delicious. We had the Parisian Eggs Benedict, Croque Madame, and Strawberry Pineapple Mimosas. I cant wait to bring visiting family and friends.
Found this little cafe downtown and it has become my FAVORITE coffee spot!! Emma took care of me and she is AMAZING!!!! Always smiling and friendly. The entire staff is great as well. They now have dinner!!! I’ve had their breakfast A plus quality. Good is EXTREMELY FRESH and you can taste it. Keep up the good work!!
Loved this place. The atmosphere, food and service was outstanding. I will definitely be back.
We had a wonderful brunch here. Coffee was hot and strong, eggs Benedict and berry crepes were scrumptious. Service was nice, and they graciously accommodated us without reservations at a charming table next to the window under the church tower. Prices were unexpectedly good too. If I lived in the area I’d become a regular.
Cute little Cafe. Food was pretty good- they seemed to be a little short staffed so service was a bit slower than expected
Great service. Catered to my nutritional needs that are usually a little bit heavy on the ordering side. My waiter was training another woman and was extremely patient and kind. I was greeted immediately. The omelette was delicious and I’d come back for another in a heartbeat.Great ambience, nice open floor, and busy which tells me people live it! It was a little warm in the space and humid but also a 90° day and lots of cooking going on so I understand.
The chef did not give me what I ordered did not tell me they ran out of what I wanted instead did what he wanted
French Bistro at its finest. Found this place for lunch and wasnt expecting much but found the food to be excellent. The place seems rather new and as many places after the pandemic suffers a little bit for service but that doesnt diminish anything you might get here.Lunch menu isnt particularly huge but the crepes that we ordered were wonderful expertly done and very very very tasty. I had the chicken crepe and my daughter had the one with fruits and all I had to do was just cutting it for her. She loved it and so did I. Its a definite place to go in downtown Buffalo.
Not at their best, I feel. Took 15 min to get a drip coffee, was hot but profile (though a great brand in intelligentsia) tasted stale. Eggs Benedict didn’t run, eggs over cooked. Incorrect bill at the end, had a dessert we didn’t order or want. Corrected the bill, still had the wrong amount. Had to chase down waitress every step of the way. Waitress unfortunately seemed over-stretched.Would try again, the food had a lot of potential with a great menu. Maybe caught them on an off day!
What a cute and friendly spot now for dinner! Dined with some girlfriends and we all enjoyed trying one another’s dishes. From appetizers to dessert, everything was scrumptious and beautifully plated. I was enjoying so much I forgot to take photos! I definitely want to return to try brunch. A hidden gem for sure!
I had the Croque Madame several times and enjoyed it very much. Service always pleasant. Wednesday night jazz is awesome.
Food was very good. Great gourmet breakfast items. Only issue was the seating was limited so we had to order to go and eat outside on the wall. Seemed noisy inside so maybe a blessing in disguise.
Sorry to say that the service was terrible and our waitress didnt seem to care. Waited one hour for our food as we watched several others get served and leave!! Looked like a nice place at the onset. Food was barely warm but looked nice.
Quick service, good ambiance, appropriate social distancing. Homemade super thin potato chips, so good. I did however ask for a glass of water and they said their tap was broken despite hearing multiple expressos being made and dishes clinking in the washroom. I was offered the option of purchasing a bottle of water though😂😂 After spending $35 on two sandwiches, cant I have a glass of water??
Had a great time with friends for dinner & brunch! Food & drinks were amazing! LOVE this place
Came in on lunch and service was a little slow but our server was nice. Was rly disappointed at the lack of vegan options, brie sandwich just had huge chunks of brie w the rind still on and chips didnt taste very fresh. They had almond milk for the macchiato but it tasted watered down.
All the staff are very nice and welcoming. It does take a while for your food to come out but I think it’s worth the wait. I got the Chicken Parisien with chips and it was delicious and perfect. You do have to walk up stairs as you enter but I saw an elevator so I think it might be wheelchair friendly but I’m not 100% sure. The only complaint is that the acoustics make all the conversations extremely loud and there’s also music playing. I know that this isn’t their fault but if you are sensitive to loud sounds then probably don’t go.
This hidden gem, is the place to be for breakfast/lunch. Especially, if you work downtown. Parking is always a difficult thing whenever you are downtown. But if you didnt take the train, you can find (paid)parking on some of the side streets.Mon Ami is a very spacious, well lit restaurant, with a wonderful view of the neighborhood. There is plenty of table seating as well as bar stool seating at the windows. Todays visit was for the breakfast sandwich (egg, cheese, meat). The croissant was very soft and flaky, and had a nice amount of egg and bacon. I wouldve enjoyed it a little bit more, if there was more cheese to it. The side of potatoes (spices, chop onions) was very good. They offer gourmet cookies and other pastries. All the prices are on par with other higher end restaurants. The quality of the food here is well worth it. The employees are great especially Claudia.
Had our company outing at this restaurant, authentic and delicious French food, beautifully designed atmosphere, and very professional service. Will definitely be back in the future.
5 stars for the food 2-3 for the service. Order ahead if you expect to get to work on time. Customer service is poor the young lady just ignores when u ask will it be ready by 8:25 when I asked for the manager I was bold faced lied to by the cashier that he was not on premises. I will not be returning. Make sure you have at least 15-25 minutes for a slice of quiche even without warming it up your cashier doesnt give the correct wait times it has now happened on two occasions. People at my work even can describe the cashier because they encountered the same behavior I asked for the manager she said hes not here I left rather than dealing with more lies no worries their are many places to get baked goods I was I the service industry for years. I can guarantee I can and do give better service as I said. If that barista goes any slower with service shell stand still. She needs to quit ignoring her customers when they ask if something will be ready on time. Shes threatened by someone asking for the manager then asking for refund and she did nothing are you going to refund the additional time I lost at work my order took 27 minutes for two slices of quiche and 4 eclairs? Like is said I wont return. So youll allow the other low review without a snarky comment for them. May all see threw your facade
Traveled to Buffalo for a weekend trip and found this place. Such a pleasant surprise. They have French Roast coffee and it was strong, just how I like it. The Eggs Benedict was REALLY tasty and a good portion size for a nice filling breakfast. The staff were really nice. Decent scenery... I dont see how anyone could say anything bad about this place. That being said, I could see how this place being crowded could lead to maybe an empty glass of water and I only mention that because I know people care about it, but otherwise, this place is great.Edit: I forgot to mention the price was pretty decent too. Got that experience for $20. I also got some macaroons to go afterwards (They were a little more pricey) but literally the best macaroons Ive had.
Food was good, though it wasnt served hot. Service was poor. It took 15 minutes to get a cup of coffee when we first arrived. She had to go back and find a spoon. That took another three or four minutes. When our breakfast arrived, the potatoes were room temperature, the eggs Benedict was warm, but not hot. There were five tables in the entire restaurant. It wasnt like they were overwhelmed.
Their Croque Madame looks and taste spectacular. Topping it off with the tomato basil was absolutely amazing.
Great atmosphere with amazing food and service! Brunch is sooo good and I love Wednesday jazz nights and Thursday ladies night!!!
Came here for brunch with some friends, food was fantastic, service was great. Our server Anna took care of us and she was very attentive. The food came out in less than 15 minutes even through they were very busy. Would definitely recommend!
Highly recommend. We had an excellent dinner here. The food is outstanding, as was the service.
Fun brunch spot! Had a delicious croque Monsieur, could’ve used a tad bit of salt but other than that everything was great! Definitely recommend the blueberry mimosa
Amazing! The ambiance is great - like being in a larger Cafe in Europe. The French onion soup was ok, but the goat cheese salad was outstanding. I have the steak and it was cooked perfectly and went well with the augratan potatoes. Cappuccino was also super tasty. Service was on point as well. Dinner for 2 with after drinks and dessert was 123 included tip.
Food is good, coffee is great prices are reasonable for a downtown location. Atmosphere here is top notch too.
Great food mimosas not the best but heck the food was spot on.
The food was very delicious, however, the service needs improvement. About 10 minutes into our breakfast, the waiter stopped to ask how everything was - normal, nothing unusual about that interaction. We said we were good, and thanked him which prompted him to immediately bring the check over even though we were not even half way through our plates. The rest of the meal, the waiter would come back every few minutes to see if we had paid and if we were ready to leave often claiming his manager was pestering him about when we were going to be done. Ive never been hounded out of a restaurant before and cant believe my experience. I would have been more understanding had there been others waiting for our table, however, there was no one waiting and they had plenty of open tables. I will not be going here again and recommend that others dont as well.
Ordered a Chi Pear Scone and a caramel macchiato when they first first opened. Both were served reasonably quick. The scone was clearly fresh baked, it was very flaky but the chi glaze on top really held it together. The space is huge, gorgeous wood floors and reclaimed wood table tops. Plenty of seating around the location.Staff was friendly and helpful, presentation of already prepared food was excellent.
Excellent service. Excellent food. Loved menu selections.
I absolutely loved this cafe. First of all, its diverse. There were an equal number of Black people and white people, which is refreshing.Second, the coffee is Intelligentsia. Delicious.Third, my croissant was really good. It cost $2.50. My dining companion is French and he said they tasted like the real thing. He had a pain au chocolat.I will absolutely return here. 💯
I’ve been wanting to write this review for months. I’ve frequented here for they last few months and I have to say this is THE BEST place in buffalo for a nice calm breakfast or lunch. The coffee drinks are amazing! I always get the Nutella Cappuccino. For food I usually stick with the Parisian Eggs Benedict with potatoes, Hollandaise sauce and potatoes are always super flavorful and on point. The service is pretty fast and the servers are very friendly and accommodating.
A hidden gem in downtown Buffalo! Mom Ami is everything Buffalo needs. Since covid my favorite french cuisine has closed so I was estatic to find this little hidden cafe in downtown Buffalo. We went for dinner and I was delightfully impressed with the dishes we lrdered. We ordered the scallops and the duck I would definitely recommend! Would like to go back for breakfast next!
Good Atmosphere and food but they need to be more organized when serving customers. There was only one server taking care of 100 customers.
Absolutely lovely. Loved my breakfast served by the friendliest staff. Immaculate place. Will be back.
Had to ask for cream & sugar 3 times for first cup of coffee. They forgot one of our entrees then took a long time to bring it out. One of the plates poached eggs were overcooked and had a very strong vinegar taste. There were egg shells in two peoples eggs. They also had NO hollandaise sauce despite needing it for one of the special and one of the regular menu items. They said they ran out. Why didnt they make more? Three ingredients egg yolk, butter and lemon juice. The service was very slow. I really wanted to like this place. They definitely have the potential to be good. They just need to get it together. They were very polite but not attentive.Revised: added a star.. they were super apologetic and compted us a box of macaroons. I guess they just switched over to table service and theres growing pains.
Its very delicious here and the service is as amazing. I do recommend giving this place a try. Youll love the food they serve here as much as I do.
Randomly found this place booking for brunch on a Saturday morning and we are so happy we did - the eggs Benedict on croissant was Sooooooo good ! Along with the Blueberry Mimosa 😋 cute little atmosphere and vibe to this place - will definitely come back.
Dont not go to this place extra slow 30 minutes for a fresh fruit plate unbelievable
The food looked nice and if you like cold food your in luck!! The potatoes were hot and tasty when asked for them to be crispy. The plate was warm. But the Parisian Eggs Benedict came out cold and when we told them they asked if we wanted it reheated.....reheated eggs benedict??? So they remade it which was nice until it came out just a touch warmer than the last time....how can poached eggs come out almost cold and the meat & sauce cold too. Hope we dont get sick. I was really looking forward to going to this place....guess its one and done! The staff were lovely.
Lovely cafe--enjoyed our light lunch.
Went with my husband had a great time! Hubby had an omelet with ham, onion, peppers, cheddar and a croissant delicious! I had the eggs benedict best Ive ever had! The homemade sauce was out standing and was served on a croissant that was delicious. The service was fantastic!
Mon ami is one of the BEST places in buffalo!!! I took my mom there for her birthday a month ago and we both still sing praises about the restaurant! The food was delicious and plated beautifully, and the coffee is genuinely some of the best I’ve ever had. What was even better than the food was the service, even when they were busy the front of house was so so sweet and accommodating!! I recommend this place to everyone I meet and I can’t wait to eat there again! Definitely try the Parisian Eggs Benedict or the macaroons (which are made in house!!!!)💞💓💖
Poorly managed. Didnt get a table. Takeout was like 30-40 minutes wait - which the maitre de conveniently forgot to mention. Avoid the place if you want to get food and decency.
Why do i have to start a review with a star?????? I wish there was no star option available. Drove 30 min to try this restaurant for brunch and absolutely hated the service. They guy Jordan we had to ask him twice for cream and sugar and cutlery. The service was super slow and the rest of Staff were busy chatting. DON’T GO THERE IF YOU WANT TO HAVE A GOOD DAY!!!
I went to Mon Ami for the first time with a friend a few days ago and will definitely be back again! Its a bright, clean, and open space with welcoming and helpful staff. I decided to try the vegetable quiche with a side of tomato basil soup (vegetarian options!). It was delicious and very filling. My friend had the Parisien eggs Benedict with a side of potatoes which she loved. We couldn’t resist grabbing a box of macarons for dessert on our way out which were just as amazing as our entrées. Lovely experience and great prices!
Mon Ami is wonderful. We discovered it while living downtown and we still drive back regularly. Everything on the breakfast menu is great. I measure a breakfast spot by the diner combo - the Americain Breakfast here. Its always consistent and delicious. The French press is perfect for getting the day started (good, strong coffee). Dont sleep on the pastries! Also this is the only cafe I know of that has a legitimate big-city skyline type feel, with a giant window next to architectural treasures like Cathedral Park and the Guarantee Building.
Food is good but I can’t give it the full 5 stars because they’re incredibly slow. I ordered ahead, arrived 20 mins later, and still had to stand around waiting for another 15 mins. Being on my lunch break from work without much time, it was frustrating.
This place is so amazing, I was in town for a couple of days and a friend recommended this place to me. The menu here is outstanding and even for a picky eater you will satisfy your breakfast or lunch craving. Im a big fan of breakfast sandwiches and told the young lady at the register to get me the most popular breakfast sandwich. It was amazing cant wait to come back to town and go back for another breakfast or lunch at Mon Ami.
Extremely pleasant and quiet cafe. I would definitely recommend getting any of the pastries as they are baked in house from a Culinary Institute of America French trained pastry chef. The coffee was absolutely horrendous, I would recommend bringing coffee from elsewhere and getting your pastries from here. Also side note, the WiFi did not work while I was there...
Service good food fair
The food was satisfying but not filling.
I’ve ordered delivery from Mon Ami a few times now and it has been fantastic every time. The food is just delicious.
Such a cute little cozy little Cafe. Little bit of a wait for food, but the atmosphere was so nice
Great service, great food. Will definitely go back soon
Best brunch Ive had in bflo
Great food and overall ambiance. Definitely recommend if you live downtown and need a place to eat and hang out for a little. Was able to park right next to the restaurant on Sunday so their location is very convenient. Closest thing you can get to a Toronto-like experience in Buffalo.
AMAZING!!! Went to their soft opening for their dinner, and it was unbelievable! Food was amazing.. I got the burger and it was mouth watering. I loved the atmosphere, and the staff was great. Definitely recommend!
The food was very good, the experience less so. I dont know if was just a strange time, but our food took quite a bit longer than I would have figured. It didnt seem that busy, but who knows what was happening. Regardless, high quality food at a reasonable price so Ill try again and see if it was a one time thing.
Food is okay, but the coffee was cold and acidic
The food was great and the staff is amazing. I spoke with the cook who made my food. I believe his name was Jordan. Very friendly and did a fantastic job cooking my food!
So good! Its mine and my fiances new favorite brunch spot.
Very good! High quality pastries and food. Well executed.
Clean and nice space, good food!
The service is amazing and food out of this world
Excellent service, everything was delicious
No parking. Far walk
Such a wonderful addition to downtown and love treating myself to lunch here. Happy they were open for pick up and delivery during COVID. Everything Ive tried so far has been incredible!
Food wasnt tasty at all ran out a of things on menu
Mon Ami is a quaint little cafe with a beautiful interior. Great location for a bite to eat before an event downtown. They have a lot of choices on the menu including make your own omelets and crepes. The food is good and portion size is normal. One qualm is the menu may not list all of the toppings you will receive on your entree (the Chicken Parisien comes with lettuce and mayo as well) so be sure to ask the waiter just in case.
This place is so cute and the prices are very reasonable. The food is phenomenal. I had the eggs Benedict and it was some of the best Ive ever eaten. Parking can be tricky though!
I came here for the first time and it was absolutely amazing. The food was wonderful, I enjoyed it a lot! Their homemade potato chips were delicious! Right down to the customer service, the environment and the ambiance of the entire place it was such an enjoyable experience. I highly recommend this place to everyone!
