This is a tough one......We were enjoying the architectural aspects of the building and memorizing it on film when along comes a hateful voice: Dont take pictures of employeesLol.....To which I was forced to reply: I had no intention to!My wife wanted to shop so we stayed and purchased! It is so fantastic when you find these pieces of history still perserved and working.

This place is like a time machine. The store has all original wood work and decorations from the early 1900s. They have done a great job preserving the old style. There is a place to sit down and order ice cream, and a wide variety of chocolate and candy.

Not sure what the fuss is about. I did try the graham ice cream, which was pretty good. The chocolate bits were stand-out excellent.Unfortunately, Parkside seems to bank on its old-school charm, and it really didnt appeal to me. The chocolates and truffles on offer were relatively old-fashioned and some of the decoration was less than impressive.I happened to have a frosty service encounter as well.

Theyre so rude. But also the candies are not that good. My husband and I got a mixture of truffles. A truffle should be soft and delicate. These truffles had a super hard exterior and the inside was too chewy. The ones with sea salt had too much sea salt. We also had two types of Dixies (pecan and cashew) and they were equally hard and salty ( it tasted like they used salt roasted nuts).

Its nostalgic, not even a fancy new computerized cash register. Prints out old type receipts like before. Id never been there to purchase nor eat there. My friend told me how he mom would take her there for lunch on an afternoon treat as a kid. So today she wanted sponge candy and we were driving by so I stopped in to see the place and to make a purchase of their sponge candy and ended up buying a pint of their wedding soup as well. It was great. I love yesteryear places. The ornate wall trimmings and checkered flooring, just very unique. Even the entrance doors are of a previous era. An old register sits in the window to remind us of simpler times. The menu and other notable items of past era.I now plan on taking my Dad there soon to have a meal. Everyone should go there once.

This frozen-in-time chocolate shop is as adorable as it is authentic. Beautiful dark wood fills the interior, and small original tiles cover the floor. The place is almost to large, except for the fact that it’s the original, so you can ignore the fact that the space is too big for it’s current offerings. The middle section that displays the goods feels awkwardly setup, and could use a redesign, but everything along the walls- the ice cream parlour, checkout, and glass display cases, are perfect. The confections themselves are incredibly delicious- and they have a large variety on offer, including some sugar free options as well. Friends are always blown away with the old time charm when I bring them there for their first taste of sponge candy- which, of course, they make exceptionally well.

Great chocolate, great ice cream, great atmosphere. If you visit any candy store it Buffalo, make it this one. Parkside is a piece of history and its beautiful. They have traditional sponge candy, truffles, milk chocolate, dark chocolate, you name it. Anyone visiting Buffalo/Niagara Falls ought to visit this place which was started around a century ago, especially the chocolate lovers for whom its a heaven. The ambience gives one a rich vintage feeling and the sundaes, shakes & chocolates they serve is as if filled with grandmas love. Parkside offers one with supremely delicious chocolates be it white chocolate, milk chocolate, dark chocolate or their signature chocolate sponge candies. The huge chocolate bunnies put up on display are surely a marvel to behold. They have small bunny shaped chocolates to offer especially during Easter time which are just too delicious to resist and just too adorable to eat.

The neighborhood is definitely in decline, but there are so many jewels that remain in the Buffalo area. Will definitely return and recommend.

This is one the most real and colorful candy-shops ever. It is a must visit when you come to Buffalo. Its steeped in history and has survived the last 100 years (almost) in Buffalo. Not an easy thing to do anywhere in the rust belt of Upstate NY. I lived in Buffalo for two years. I lived 2 blocks from Parkside Candy. My Mom who was born in 1943 said that Parkside candy was a perfect example of the candy shops she remembered as a kid. Im surprised they arent used for a movie shot. This, the Buffalo zoo, Anchor Bar and the Niagra Falls gorge trail were the highlights for me. I used to eat lunch there too. They make sandwiches/soup. ect.
