Really rude front-desk staff. Went in to get my glasses done and got the impression that that the staff was doing customers a favor by engaging with them. They were very unprofessional and even refused to explain my insurance details correctly; even gave misleading information from time to time. Wouldnt recommend this place at all!

I picked up a pair of glasses 2 years ago at this location. Recently my glasses got broken. Fortunately my eye exam is up to date so I called visionworks to order the same pair again. The first time I called I was hung up on, the second time the staff member informed me he would be able to look up my order however he was the only working the floor so I’d need to call back so he can help customers in the store, the THIRD time I called a women told me to try calling back 2 days later because she didn’t have time to help me reorder my glasses. I tried to be accommodating and said I’d be happy to give my number and have someone call me back once the store wasn’t busy but the woman still insisted that I call back a 4th time and HOPEFULLY someone would be able to help. I am blind without my glasses and unfortunately they could not of been any less helpful. I have taken my business elsewhere.

Our first experience at this location was less than stellar, but when my daughter scratched both of her lenses and we came back for replacements, Andrew Levy helped us and we had a great experience. We were also considering a second pair if glasses and Andrew very clearly explained the best way to do that while maximizing insurance benefits (which are often confusing). Thanks, Andrew, for your help and thoughtful customer service!

Service was slow, so that to have my new frames fitted I had to wait over half an hour after my appointment. I had to run to class, and was told it would be no problem to receive my free pair of glasses (as provided by my insurance) at a later date. This turned out NOT to be possible. Finally, after I scheduled a follow up appointment, they called me the DAY OF to try to reschedule it - three hours before the appointment - without a valid reason. Please do yourself a service, and find a provider that will respect you as a customer, and not outright lie to you.

The customer service is out of this world here. I was a walk-in and all I needed was to get some nose pads replaced. I was given the level of attention and technical assistance as any high paying customer. Extra effort was needed to find nose pads that fit my particular frames and that effort was done with competence, professionalism and a big smile. This is now my go to eyeglass place!

The staff at Visionworks was very helpful and made the process of finding my glasses and contacts very easy. They have a wide selection and run the occasional sale (when I went it was 60% off frames!) Their prices across the board were much lower than other places Ive been (even online) and I saved a ton of $$. Definitely worth the trip there!

I made a last minute appointment, and the man at the front desk called my insurance for me and detailed what the prices would be after I discussed what I needed. Dr.K did my exam and was delightful and made me feel very comfortable! The woman at the front desk saw my insurance offered free glasses and showed me where I could browse. I left feeling taken care of not taken advantage of!

Seems like Visionworks needs better training and/or documentation. All employees were very nice individually, but gave inconsistent and contradictory answers to most questions. (My optometrist however, was always great... She was very nice and professional. Would give her 5 stars and the front of house 1, hence the 3 stars.)I got 4 different prices for how much my glasses were going to cost me with my insurance. I finally had one woman call my insurance while I was there and still got a different answer-cheaper than ALL the other quotes they initially gave me. Also, they said getting the glasses would take about a week and it took over three, and they never called back when they said they would. Not once. They kept saying theyll be in tomorrow... for over two weeks. Im fine waiting 3 weeks... just dont lie to me about it every day.Again, everyone was individually very nice, but Visionworks needs to step up their game with training/documentation so their employees can give clear answers.

Ive been wearing glasses for twenty years now and not once have I had the experience of someone not being able to make me the right glasses (I feel dizzy every time I wear them. The prescription was nothing too complicated, Im shortsighted and have astigmatism, both mild. I had to go back to the store multiple times and still did not get the right glasses. I had to throw $400 out along with those glasses.

Both times Ive been to this Visionworks, I have been treated poorly. I went once a year ago to get my glasses fit adjusted after they had been knocked off my face. The employee who helped me gave me the dirtiest look and rushed the job. Today, I went to see if they would measure my pupillary distance (PD). I was told, We dont give out those numbers and that I would need to purchase a pair of glasses from Visionworks in order for that measurement to be done. Ridiculous and unethical. Will never return to this location for any reason.

Ive been coming here since I was 17. Dr. Lana T is wonderful as always. But, honestly..I miss Kiera and Nicole. Their customer service skills were always 100%. I am not sure what happened with Ana, she was very pleasant. The staff now, not so much. Unfortunately, not many places take my vision insurance so I am stuck here for now. The front end at this location needs to be worked on.

I had a really unfortunate experience. While completing one part of the eye exam my examiner was really rude. She did not have any professional skills. It was as if she was unhappy to be at work. This location seems very organized, before I walked up to the desk I observed someone complaining about their contacts being two weeks late. I was really looking forward to this place not living up to the reviews that I read.

This place has never once gotten my contact lens refill order correct, leaving me with no lenses or the wrong ones until they correct the mistake, which has inevitably taken weeks. This has now happened at least 4 times. I have only returned because of their convenient location, but I think at last I have had enough. I cannot understand why they cannot get it right. You have been warned.

Above and beyond!I bought glasses a little over a year ago, there was a issue with the lenses and they needed to be replaced. I was not happy with the replacement glasses and they worked with me until I had glasses that were comfortable and lenses that I was happy with. I worked with the entire team during this experience, everyone was helpful, a shout out to the store manager Janet. The staff have all been with Vision Works for years which is also important to me. If you need glasses, this is a great place to get them!Scott

We received a post card in the mail that VisionWorks was accepting Harvard Pilgrim insurance (our insurance) and we could get one free pair of glasses with our insurance. Our service was outstanding from the reception to the eye exam to the optical shop. Dr. Zide performed a thorough eye exam with compassion and kindness given that I experience tremors which worsen when I try to hold my head still. They have top of the line equipment which eliminates the need for any eye drops to be used to examine the health of the eye. My husband and I each had an eye exam and got new glasses. Often times it takes a week to adjust to a new prescription but our glasses were perfect with no need for getting used to them. The service in the optical shop was outstanding. Often times these chain eyeglass stores can be second rate but VisionWorks strives to and succeeds in being first rate. Our daughter is going to go there for her eye exam next week and you know that we would not trust just anyone to care for our own! Thank you VisionWorks.

I was deliberately misinformed by the staff at VisionWorks Brookline. I walked into the VisionWorks Brookline location and asked if they accepted VSP insurance and I was told by the lady in front that they did. I later called to make an appointment and during the conversation I asked what the cost would be for my exam and was told they couldn’t tell me until they checked my insurance. That sounded odd because I expected copay to be standard or at least to be within a certain a range and I tried to explain that I did not want to be surprised by high fees when I came in for my appointment. The day of my appointment, I arrived and was told that my insurance did not cover the contact lens exam. I regret not walking out as soon as she said that because I was pretty sure my coverage included contact lens exam. I wear contacts every day and made sure to get a plan that would cover my contact lens examination. Anyway I assumed it was a mistake and figured I would sort things out once I was done with the exam. After the eye exam, I was told the total was $122. I asked for a breakdown and was told the vision exam cost $35, the contact exam cost $48 after a $12 discount from my insurance, and the retinal image cost $39. I asked if they were really a network provider for VSP because I didn’t understand why the copay was $35 instead of $10 which was indicated on the form which I filled out. The lady said they were and it is just that they didn’t accept all plans and again that didn’t make sense to me. I also told her that I had specifically asked if they accepted my insurance before I made my appointment and now here I am finding out that they don’t.I was deliberately lied to by the staff even though I tried to get as much information as possible prior to my appointment. If indeed VisionWorks is a network provider for VSP but doesn’t accept all VSP plans, isn’t that something that should have been disclosed when I asked? How was I to know that some VSP plans would not be accepted? Needless to say, I regret going here for my eye exam and if you are reading this review, save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else. I wish I had. I can’t complain about the exam itself as Lana Tsesler was professional but after reading other reviews here, it appears misinformation and communication from staff is an issue at VisionWorks.
