Thank you to the Store Manager, Chuck, and his team at the Palmetto location in Florida. He turned a horrible experience that I had at another location into one of the best that I’ve had at Pep Boys. I’ve been a customer of Pep Boys since 2001 and after what I experienced a couple of weeks ago, I was ready to take my business elsewhere. I’m so glad that I gave it another shot. Very upfront with what was going to happen as well as explained that I needed a service done to my fuel from BG Products that will increase Horse power and fuel economy….I felt it in the peddle which is waaay more responsive. He actually took time out of his day to help my son with an issue he had with a tire warranty in Orlando. Chuck called a couple Pep Boys in Orlando and found inventory that matched my sons tires. Chuck spoke to another wonderful man, Matt, that works at Pep Boys on East Colonial Drive near UCF. Between the two of them they got the tires my son needed and gave him an excellent deal with the warranty! Employees like these should be valued and rewarded! Had my oil changed from them. After I got it changed it was leaking. No I didn’t go back. But when it was time for my oil change I went somewhere else and asked the person to check it that stated that it didn’t look like the right part that was in there. I went to next day to my mechanic and had him also look at it. He replaced it for me and stated that the part that was in there was not correct. So comes down to one Pep Boys change my oil broke something rigged it didn’t tell me and then I go up there and confront them they’re saying that the two guys that I talk to are incorrect and they’re correct. Beware

I usually go here, I dont know why. Roberto is the only one at the service counter I like, he does a good job and had great customer service. The retail people are all nice too.They do the service jobs but are always a bit rushed, often forgetting little things like turning off the check engine light or looking into that thing they said they would.My biggest issue is service jobs always take too long, and they have an appointment system that is ignored. I schedule an oil change but they take hours after the time to even pull the car in, and then the actual service is another hour or more.
Changed my oil, balanced and rotated tires and did it quickly. Before I left, they replaced a brake light for free. I would highly recommend them.

TLDR: Mechanic himself was good. waited 10 hours for a oil change and a tire... that was very bad I WILL NOT BE BACK!!!First I want to make clear I do not have an issue with the mechanic. He did his job as he could. Beyond that the entire experience was severely lacking. I left my car with them for 1) An oil change 2) a single tire change at around 9am knowing full well it was going to be picked up in the afternoon (to accommodate those who made appointments). 4pm rolls around with no call. So I call and Im told I was next in line to be serviced. This was irksom. So I go shopping and at 5pm I go to the service center. Im still next. So I wait... until 6:30. Now my car is in the bay and my oil is drained, but the tire they hauled out is the wrong one and the cashier/cs/tire getter is busy with the 3 other guests who also want their car. It was 7pm before I left that place. I WILL NOT BE BACK!!!

Needed a repair and maintenance performed on my vehicle and the staff here were nothing but a delight. Roberto, the store manager, answered probably 10 of my calls with politeness and positivity every time ensuring I was getting the best care at the best price. One of the repairs I needed was on a part I had replaced earlier this year on my own, and Roberto worked with me to see if the warranty was still good (which it was!) and I only had to pay for the labor to install the new part. Would recommend them to any and everyone!

My daughter had her for car in for front end alignment it took 5 try to get it right each time there was different reasons for it not working told her camber bolts were bad replaced still not right told her 3 tires were bad replaced all 4 still wrong also told us the road was problem finally after they couldnt figure it out it was the frame was bend never in a accident and they install the rack and pinon wrong the car is a 2001 with 85000 miles also treat me fine but treated my wife and daughter like a bunch of dumb women not even a mention of a refund for a car that still pulls

My car was there to be diagnosed 9 days ago. It had to be towed to another shop. The other shop informed me immediately of a horrible grease stain inside my drivers door. After six phone calls and the runaround, they claim no time to view the tapes. Ultimately, they soiled my car and could care less. Thanks for nothing Pep Boys 👎👎👎
There service was so slow, I had an appointment @9 I waited two hours and thirty minutes for them to put on 4 new tires 😡🤬
Needed a 4 new tires and from their web site, Pep Boys had my tires at the right price. Stopped in and talked to Tyler, Assistant Service Manager; to check inventory and get an installation appointment. Was very nice and explained some stuff about the tires I was ordering. He worked it where I got 4 for the price of 3. He didnt have all 4 in stock, but he checked the other Pep Boys in the area and would have the tires ready for the next day. All is well till the next day at appointment time. Really rude guy working the counter. No personality and wasnt listening to anything I was telling him. That set the tone. Every bay was full, and it took 90 minutes before a nice young guy took the truck into the bay. I stood outside and watched from a distance. After one hour, it was done. Told Tyler about the incident I had with the counter guy, and he explained he fired him right after I came in. There had been other complaints. Ask why it took so long to start the job, he said it was a hectic morning and short staffed. I was really satisfied with the tires, but they need to inform their customers what their realistic time its going to take, and start working on the vehicle within 15-30 min after the appointment time was made. Overall, I would go again. Decent set of tires at a great price. I would have given them 5 stars if it wouldnt have taken so long.

Also, technician was working on multiple vehicles so progress was very slow.Please do not use the canned reply We apologize for the poor experience you had. Desperately needed a battery and could not get there until late. Serviceman Bill was very helpful. Directed me with the battery that was needed and they also did the installation. Very helpful.

EDIT: For whatever reason Google must have removed my print outs. Not sure why, its hard evidence of how terrible they are at aligning a car with caster and camber adjustments.Ill start out by saying that ALL front end components are brand new on my car. Upper and lower control arms, inner and outer tie rod ends, pitman and idler arm, and sway bar end links. ALL NEW. I was wrong about 6 angles as stated below, it was 4 as you can see in the print out.Went in for an alignment at the Bee Ridge location. I asked for the print out and 6 of the angles were out of spec. 1 camber, 2 caster, and the difference between the left and right caster and camber were out of spec. SIX ANGLES OUT OF SPEC. Caster was HORRIBLY out of spec. I brought it up to Mike at Bee Ridge before I left and he began to argue that those arent angles that cause tread wear. I CAME IN FOR AN ALIGNMENT NOT BASIC TREAD WEAR PREVENTION. The damn thing doesnt drive straight still.Took it to Cortez road for them to fix, they confirmed caster was WAY out at about 8 and 9 degrees positive. Spec is 5.5 degrees. They fixed the alignment and showed the caster on the before print out and they WROTE IN caster on the after. I TOOK IT IN TO FIX CASTER AND THEY WROTE IT IN.... ARE YOU SERIOUS??!?!?!? Did the machine break between when you put the car on the rack and then took it off? They WROTE IN the specs as if they were DEAD ON. All other angles were .1 or .3 degrees this way or that way, yet somehow caster was WRITTEN IN DEAD ON!?!?!? The car still pulls horribly to the right after two tries with Pep Boys. NEVER GETTING ALIGNMENT HERE EVER AGAIN NO MATTER THE LOCATION. Its great they have an alignment rack and all but knowing how to align a damn car would be helpful I would think.I want a refund, the alignment as COMPLETELY POINTLESS. Ill post pictures of the stupid worthless print outs I was given. Just incredible they claim to know how to align a car.I have attached 3 photos, one is me driving home from Bee Ridge, thats how I had to hold the wheel the whole way home. The alignment with pictures is from Bee Ridge, you can see several settings out of spec. The other print out is Cortez where they took my biggest complaint (caster setting) and WROTE IT IN AS PERFECT.
Why? They sell illegal radar detectors here. You know the good ones escort x80. Thats top of the line. They also have their own garage, you know, overhaul your car, if you need it. Change out your tires, if you need it, or just go look at the pretty boys covered in grease, While there lubing up your car.. LOL. If havent been there, then get there, and check it out. Brought my Denali 2500 to this place for an oil change and to change a squeaky belt. I was charged for new rotors brakes a steering pump replacement and tire rotation. My tires werent rotated and when I backed out of my parking spot my steering wheel locked up. The belt broke and the pump bracket had a sheared bolt. DO NOT BRING YOUR VEHICLE HERE
The guys who helped me were amazing. They were patient, funny and knowledgeable. I was very comfortable in knowing I was not being overcharged or sold something I didnt need. They are definitely my go to place from now on.

If I could I would not put any stars, but unfortunately I have to put one. Everything was ok until the technician came out to talktonus about what services we were looking for, even though I made a specific appointment for what I needed. He gave a different price than what was listed online, and brought to his attention he kept repeating himself saying oh j would to see that, show me where it says that, as if I made my own price up! I showed him and his response was they dont get to look at the pricing online.....thats weird right?! We then decided not to have anything done due to his POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AMD HIS VERY POOR ATTITUDE. I would not invest any of money there. Went up the road and received the services I needed and left happy. Funny how things work out when you are treated kindly. I would NEVER recommend this particular Pep Boys to ANYONE.

We picked up a battery charger and extension cord for a weak car battery, and after we got it home had trouble hooking it up like the AAA guy told us. I call back and talked to Eric, store manager, who advised us to come back and he would help us. When we went back, Eric came out to our car and showed us the right way to place the clamps, and we are pleased to say that all worked out well. Thanks to Eric for going 👍 over and above normal customer service to ensure that we were satisfied. This is why we continue to use Pep Boys for our automotive needs!

ROBERTO SAVED THE DAY!!!! I was at Wawa putting air in my tires and I shifted my weight and broke the valve stem!!! I was horrified as I stared at my flattened tire not knowing what to do!!! Well, Gettel Kia told me they could not get me in until Tuesday, 3 days later!!! I have been a faithful customer of Sunset Kia Bradenton (Gettel now) for *7 years* and they could NOT fix a valve stem for 3 days? Roberto took care of it in LESS THAN 5 MINUTES!!!!!! Called the store looking for a tire. Someone picked up the phone and sounded like he had a mouth full of something or he thinks he is a thug. So I said I was looking for a tire and he said he couldnt hear me that well and that I needed to speak up and immediately put me on hold. If I spoke any louder, Id be yelling. Horrible business practice at this place.
We needed a major fix on the AC of our Yukon Denali (2011) resulting from aged corroded out aluminum pressure line to the rear AC. The advice and the actual fix were both practical and effective with negligible loss of rear cooling. And the cost was very small. Our hats off to Mr. Karam and crew.

Got an oil change thursday, didnt get told a pricd til they finished and said itd be 94 dollars. i called today to try and find out why and the guy on the phone pretty much told me they didnt do anything wrong, and when i told him that the place i normally go to has always charged me 40 dollars and he told me no one at the store could do anything about it anyway and id have to try and call Wednesday when a manager will be there. im not gonna waste my breath.

I drive all the way from central Sarasota, for both vehicles, and heres why. Other than a nice, professional staff and clean facilities, but also due to their going the extra mile. Last year, Jiffy Lube over tightened the oil drain plug on my BMW ///M Roadster. Once the motor heated up, the *hollow* plug cracked and drained all oil from my motor as I was driving. After hearing the lifters get loud, I checked and called Jiffy Lube about it. They refused to own up to it, so I called corporate, which was rude to me. Mind you, you are very lucky to back out a hollow drain plug, as it might fall in the pan ($1,000 repair on that car). Pep Boys not only backed the bolt out, but put a new one in, did my Royal Purple oil change ($100) and COMPED the WHOLE service. I was amazed. They didnt do anything wrong, yet the paid for their competitors mistake. Theyve earned my loyalty, and that of many of my friends. If you live close, make them your exclusive place to go. I have no ties to any of the workers, its simply good business that compelled me to write this.

These guys quoted my son $6000 for a power steering pump replacement. After my son called me, they reduced the quote to $4000. Said it needed so many other things to get the job done “right”. I had it towed away and taken to another shop. They did the job “right” in a few hours and charged me $510. Really don’t know how these guys at Pep Boys sleep at night );

Wasnt too upset when I called to see what cost of putting on front brake shoes, and I go in next day, thinking price was honest, and I notice after sitting in lounge for half an hour that they had taken front tires off, AND back tires.i tell them nothing is supposed to be done on back, they say its just a free inspection of back brakes. I wait a long time, couldve done job myself in less time with a jack and wrenches, just getting too old to be doing this stuff. They finally get around to working on putting my brakes on, after stopping to work on other stuff for a while, charge me 50.00 more than estimate given, I dont complain, just pay, and go home.Had gotten a decent price here on tires a couple years ago, otherwise they would get ONE star.I just called last night to find out what replacing a caliper would cost on right from, because it started leaking a bit of brake fluid. 285.00Looks like Im gonna come out of retirement and put my mechanics hat back on.Advance auto has caliper with lifetime warrantee for under 40 bucks, and replacing it. It has NEVER taken me more than 45 minutes to replace one of these,using a jack, wrenches, C-clamp, and a 5 dollar can of parts cleaner. 45 minutes of my time to save 240 bucks? Yeah, I can do that

Great service, got my truck in and out for 4 tires on a Sunday afternoon quickly, under 2 hours. Got a great price on a great tire and I did quite a lot of comparative shopping. Clean comfortable waiting area, sales/service manager even bought me a water while I waited.
Im not real happy with this visit or my last visit a week ago for an oil change.They never checked any of my other fluids and never filled my washer fluid and I had none.ok then I was told I needed tired and a ball joint.A week later Im here for tires and ball joint and to be put on computer to see why its missing at idol.I left my truck at 8am and at 7 pm I had to call them and was told they were just finishing with the tires and when I asked about the ball joint I was told they couldnt find anything wrong and when I asked about comp check they said that it couldnt find anything wrong.Then when I got there to pay they couldnt get it the same as the quoted price of 785.00 that was with everything including road Hazzard warranty.so now its closing time and the guy still cant get the price to match the quoted signed receipt that I have, so he says ok how do you like this price and it says 695.00!!! And I think oh wow he is giving me a real discount probably since Ive been standing here so long. So I say wow thanks thats very nice of you.UNTIL I got to my truck that had black grease prints all over it and all over the sun visor inside.Then I decided to look at my receipt and that great discount I got was because he had taken off the road Hazzard warranty which was 80.00. And so I had to go back in and pay for road Hazzard warranty.Im an old lady so I think the guy figured I wouldnt notice. So NO Im not real Happy with the Pep boys and Im thinking about finding some where else to to take my truck.I gave you 3 stars only cause I like Kenny but I should have given you 1 star.Im an old lady with no husband so you should have been looking out for me not trying to get over on me.
I went to have my tires checked because censor light came on, but after Dave checked all tires they were at the right levels... he said my censor may have gone bad, and need to be replaced. Very Friendly atmosphere.
I find this location to be useful for small things such as oil changes or diagnosis only. I had to be towed there one weekend when nothing else is open and they couldnt figure out the problem but assured me they tested several things and it wouldnt be anything big. Called me a few hours later and it was something big, an $800 repair. We didnt have $800 at the time, so they said we could leave the van there until we could get it towed, so long as it was within a couple weeks, so it was inside the locked up area and wouldnt get broken into. I went to pick the van up they had left the key in the ignition for over a week and killed the battery. They told me just jump it and I would be fine, but of course the battery wont ever recovery totally and I will have to replace it faster than I should have. It was a brand new battery too, 3 weeks old at the time.They also have had trouble diagnosing. My van would start and then randomly not start. Of course every time we got there it would start again. They would tell me things like it was out of gas and that was the only problem, when it wasnt- the fuel pump needed to be replaced. Over all not very pleased with them.
Over the past few weeks, I placed a few online orders for pickup. 2 orders were ordered and canceled because they were outside of the 8 day pickup window. The staff went out of their way in order to honor the online price! I will be happy to shop here again!

Called to get a price on a oil change for my 03 Yukon XL. I use 20/50. Price was good. Double checked the price all good. Dropped it off and got a call 20 minutes latter saying they could not do the oil change because Corp has sent a memo saying if 20/50 was not the manufacturers recommended oil they can not do it. Does it not make sense that they should have known that before hand when I called and if not then when I dropped off the Yukon. The location only had 2.8 star rating out of 5 now I know why.

Made an appointment online for a battery. Best price with free installation. I was greeted by multiple people. They checked to see if my battery was bad. It was. Installed the new battery and I was out the door in 35 minutes. Price as advertised, no hidden costs. The experience you want to have at a place like this.
