I can’t tell you how great this place is. Awesome stuff in there in general but the owner and her family are so helpful and informative and have helped me hone some recipes! She also makes the BEST fish sauce (it’s a kinda sweet vinegary chili sauce) from scratch and it’s pretty incredible.
Questionable food safety standards. When asked about expiry date on goods the lady rudely told me to find it myself. When I told her there isn’t any she threw her hands up and said she doesn’t know either.
Love this store! It’s so nice to have a market with all the spices you could need at affordable prices!
Amazing staff and selection of unique foods.
Rude, disrespectful, discourteous. No thank you.
Great store! Small space but there is a lot in here. I was surprised by the wide selection that they had there. Definitely would recommend it!
I come here once in a while to get specific Asian products that I cannot find in standard grocery stores, and/or when I dont want to drive all the way to Broomfield. Store is a bit chaotic, but I love scanning all of the aisles.I sometimes dont know if the lady at the counter likes me or not haha.. Dont mind though.
We frequent this location for some hard to find goodies. Well stocked!
They have just everything I need both food and utensils, including occasional surprises like seasonal fruits and homemade goodies.
We love this place! Its a small, hole in the wall type joint but has the best selection of different asian things. Snacks, drinks and even a whole isle of ramen!
Great place for all kinds of goodies you wont find in any other store in town
This is the best source for Asian and other ethnic ingredients in Boulder without having to drive to Broomfield! Dont be put off by the Dragon Lady who runs the place - shes gruff and curt because she loves you!
Great supermarket that has lots of Asian and Indian specialty ingredients. It is predominantly Asian (Korean, Thai, Japanese, Vietnamese, Lao and Chinese) with a few Indian ingredients. The owners are helpful if you ask. Fortunate to have this store in Boulder
Awesome little market with delicious kimchi.
This hole-in-the-wall market is packed from floor to ceiling with just about every Asian food product you can think of and then a few thousand more. At least it seems so to a non-Asian. There are fresh herbs and frozen seafoods as well. The atmosphere feels rather businesses-like and may be a little short on smiles but these folks are happy to help you find that unusual ingredient that your recipe calls for. Plenty of parking too.
The lady who runs it is super rude. Its like she went out of her way to be rude. I couldnt believe how bad she treated me. I initially tried to talk to her and she immediately treated me like I was inconveniencing her. She then slammed the receipt on the counter and when I asked for a bag she slammed the bag on the counter without putting anything in it.The customers before me were men and she was super nice to them. And judging from the comments that have given this place 5- stars are mostly from men. And the low ratings are from women addressing the rudeness of this lady. I would guess that this lady is only rude to women and nice to men.Whatever the case. I will never shop there again. I even regret buying what I bought the first time due to how i was treated.
JUST so friendly and affordable.
Fair prices, good selection, knowledgeable staff.
Great place nice selection and Im always finding all my needs
One of the only Asian markets in town. Has a pretty good selection of spices, canned and jarred side dishes, and soup bases. Has a small freezer and refrigerator section with banana leaves, wraps for rolls, and other various meats and veggies. Carries a small selection of serving and cookingware. Also carries some snacks and desserts. The owner also has some sticky rice wrapped in banana leaves by the front counter which are pretty good. Id advise at least giving it a look see if you are needing some Asian dishes in your life or if you are just bored and wanna explore some cool stuff.
Wonderful place with helpful staff.
The people there are always very nice and the place feels like its own little caring community
Good stock of spices, meats, vegetables, bowls, and spoons. Employees are happy to answer questions but don’t crowd you while shopping. They offer boxes for carry out as well.
It has many things for Asian cooking. And reasonable prices. Great!
This place is my number one restaurant. Of all restaurants I know I favor it most. I always suggests to my friends to go to visit this place. everytime I feel like having a proper lunchon, this is the place that comes straight to my head. extremely good and many types of food and a large menu.great staff, and pleasant atmosphere. Not less important, the bill is reasonable. I tell about this restaurant with no hesitation.
Its a good store if you know what you want. If you need any help from the staff, forget about it. The lady that usually sits at the front gets visibly annoyed when anyone asks her for help finding something.
Shopped here for many years
It was wonderful. I was able to find everything I was looking for. Fresh bean sprouts, bulk mint and basil, guchugang tub, thai tea mix, pho paste, edamame, spices, actually spicy kimchi, pocky and much more. The nice lady that checked us out was making me laugh too. Really enjoyed searching through the isles for everything.
The grocery guy in the back got us fresh galangal, lime leaves and lemongrass. Great quality and good prices.
Asian market but they also sell Argentinian food products and coffee. Strange little place to shop for ethnic Asian and South American products. The owners have a little shrine of the Virgin Mary right behind the front desk. Really cool out of this world little shop in Boulder
Very rude we called to see if they had a specific item and they lady answered in a rude manner and hung up on us saying she’s very busy and to hurry up
Could spend hours here
Love this place! Stocked with what I need each visit! The owner is kind and very helpful with questions I may have. I definitely recommend this small family owned business👍👍👍
Decent selection of a variety of asian cooking ingredients. Lots of yummy snacks - shrimp chips, chili seaweed, a variety of ramen, etc, so most of the basics. Had a lot of beans and lentils, of which every other store is sold out of during all this COVID stuff, so that was a nice surprise. Prices are fair, and even cheap by Boulder standards. And I appreciate the employees were wearing full PPE.
A good little Asian grocery store. They dont have as wide a selection of meats and vegetables as I would like, but you can find pretty much all of the standard non-perishables packed into its shelves along with some perishable items. The best Asian market Ive found in Boulder.
Small unusual little place full of awesome stuff.
An eclectic selection of Asian goods packed into a relatively small store. Produce can be on the low-freshness side. Cant always find what I need here, but its the best that this town has. Good kimchi in the cooler.
Great selection. Love the kimchi.
Kooky for gringos but has interesting items
I really likes it. I really like their good stuff.
The only Asian store in town. If you have to shop there, make sure to check the expiration date. I once bought a package of noodle that expired in the year of 2016. Also the owner isnt Chinese. Dont try to talk to her in Chinese.
Rude staff. I feel like they give one price to other Asians and another price to anyone outside their own ethnic background. Just got a bad feeling in the short interaction looking for one particular product that I went in there for, like I wasn’t welcome because I was not Asian. And when I asked if they had the product I wanted without chemicals (organic) the guy gave me a dirty look, like how dare I ask for a product without deadly chemicals.... No thanks, I don’t need to be treated like that. To many nice people and places in Boulder!
Good selections of food and snacks, nice employees
Great selection of Yerba Mate. Most any kind of rice, from 25 lb. bags on down. And mortar & pestles to tea sets. Huge collection of cooking oils too.
Love that place. The nice lady owner is a trip! You can find the most interesting things there.
Large selection of hard to find items. Great place to find good items for bone broth
Im not sure why, but I love this store. Im fascinated by all the unique items on the shelves. Its full to the brimm with stuff, and not always easy to find what you want, but they are very helpful.
Nice little place, but the Indian store nearby is generally cheaper provided they have what you need
Terrible service from the owner(?). Decent prices and selection. Sesame buns are awful.
Great variety of ingredients for all things Form the far East. Nice service, selection, prices and service.
I am so happy that this place exists in Boulder. It saves us a drive to h-mart in Aurora.
I love this place! Great variety of Asian produce and spices. But also they have a whole section of products from Argentina. Si yerba y tapas para empanadas en Boulder, Colorado!
Best Asian grocery store in Boulder. Must try their kimchi, best Ive had since I lived in Korea.
Really fun place with a lot of interesting food. They had Durian which I thought was fantastic. They also have lovely prepared food.
I love the spunky lady that works there. Ill go just to BS with her. Dont pass up the rice and knifes there.
They sell cans and Tetra Paks of Aroy-D coconut milk/cream at competitive prices! I now visit several times a month to restock.Ive noticed some negative reviews about the owners cut-and-dried nature, but its very clear that what some might perceive as rudeness is merely a cultural and personality difference--as she treats everyone the same.
This international market is like being outside the United States. I’m 65% Argentinian and very happy that I can find tapas de empanadas la salteña, morcilla, yerba, cerealitas, dulce de leche, alfajores Habana, 9 de oro, chimichurri, etc.If you are expecting “American Customer service“ then you’re in the wrong place!
Great selection for very good prices! Everything you could want when it comes to Asian cuisine.
From looking at the reviews I can immediately spot the racist. However I will vouch and say this place is small and cute. They have the best mochi, and eggplants.
Great selection of curry pastes and vegetables! The lady who runs the store can seem mean at first, but she is awesome and very helpful with cooking advice.
OK...not great but decent enough if you need a few things and you cant justify a trip to Broomfield or Denver. After about 20 years the lady who owns it finally recognize me and now demands to know why I dont come in more often. Shes friendly to me now...prices are OK. Theres a lot packed into the relatively small shop.
My new favorite place for select produce and imported goods. You cant beat these prices anywhere else and the staff is well knowledged and super helpful. Not sure what something is, just ask; it may be your new favorite grocery item! Gotta get over there to get some mangoes. Non gmo deliecious ripened mangoes.
Very friendly staff, convenient location, good prices.
I rate this store POOR because of the rudeness and deceitfulness of the woman who seems to run it. I have never seen anyone treat customers this badly; after a few visits, I realized that I dont have to put up with rudeness, as there are other places to shop. Once she sold me an item that was clearly not what I was asking for, but at her insistence I bought it anyway. I found the correct item elsewhere, and when I returned hers WITH the receipt, she tried not to give me a refund and argued angrily about whether the item was what I wanted. She was horrible and grumpy and mean, and I have never been back. That was several years ago, and I havent missed the place one bit!
Great place to find ingredients when theres no time to go to Pacific Ocean Market or H Mart.
I was looking for fresh mochi to bake but they only had the dehydrated stuff. It looked like they had a decent selection of other things though.
This is as asian of a market can get. Authentic Asian. You can tell the racists in the comments... especially the ones who cant even spell.
The best source in Boulder for Asian ingredients.
Good bulk items. And hard to find ingredients, they also have ready to eat rice pockets at checkout.
Good selection of hard-to-find non perishables. Ive had bad luck with the produce (flavorless mint and cilantro) but cant beat the location. Broomfields Pacific Ocean has a much larger selection, but if you live in Boulder, this a a great choice that doesnt necessitate a drive.
The most honest review you will read about this place coming from a cultured individual. A person who can cook very well, and someone who appreciates honest fair prices. Please continue reading for the truth without any biases...This place is very good in most areas. They have everything any Asian cooker could want 👏 The prices are fantastic! They keep it low because no thrifty person would pay any higher. Bravo for being located in boulder and being honest with prices. Even if you have infinite money like most do in boulder it seems, you can know here you are paying a fair price. For those of you not so fortunate(yet🙏😊), you will like this place for the prices. The only compliant I have with this place is they dont carry many things organic. But, that is to be expected being the Asian markets have not caught up with the poisoning in the modern agriculture era. Keep reading for more...Now to the more personal things I noticed; I love how I can buy everything in bulk and know Im not getting ripped off like I would at whole foods buying non organic stuff in tiny packages of their Asian assortments and non Asain assortments. Now about the service; The front lady, and her husband? They might not be related? Anyways, they are as traditional Chinese as you can find. They are serious in demeanor and keep to themselves doing store tasks (upkeep, stocking shelves, etc), so its expected you ask for help, but they are very friendly, and very helpful once you initiate the interaction. Dont assume they are rude because they are not cultured like you. If you are Asian cultured this will be obvious to you, if you are more Americanized, then this might be different for you. Open the different culture with welcome arms and you will like it there.I wish I took pictures, but they really have everything. They are like a mini Costco in middle of boulder. Buy rice dirt at its fair price, every Asian condiment known to man, or buy dried top quality shitake shrooms for a fair price in bulk for the best soup of your life. This place is great! Couldnt recommend it more.
The female owner is such a rotten BIOTCH every time I go. There is something seriously wrong with her. Not worth seeing her nasty face any more. And, thias is 20 YEARS of shopping there. Bu bye ugly lady
This is a place that advertises certain things but never carries them. The staff is rude. They always have their friends behind the counters talking to them, and not answering questions from customers.
Best pink pickled ginger!
Best damn kimchi ever!! On the upper shelf of the refrigerator by the cashier/entrace. Perfection & always on point. Just bought some 15 mins ago & already halfway through. Youre probably not supposed to eat it straight, but I do & just did. Also, I sautéed some with collard greens cuz Im currently into Asian-Soul Food fusion. Love their lil produce section too, for fresh herbs & baby boy choy
I found the lady very friendly (super friendly), and she had what I needed. She makes Kim-chi, look for it in the front chiller, its awesome and cheapthanks!
Came here for spices and noodles to make Pho, got everything I needed! Great store for asian cooking.
If you need eclectic asian ingredients, this place is going to have it stuffed somewhere in their shelves
Great selection of cheap ramen but also a lot of Yerba mate and other Argentine or Uruguayan stuff. Love the mochi they have here also.
Best Asian market in boulder! ..not the best produce, otherwise a great selection of all asian cuisine.
Delicious products from all over the world. Bad thing: the chinese owner is not always nice. However, the argentinian guy is the nicest in the shop!
This shop has a fantastic selection and a very friendly staff.
Small, but pretty well stocked and conveniently located.
Nice little place to get supplies to cook your own food
Lots of useful ingredients for Chinese, Japanese, Thai, and Indian cooking.
The owner lady is actually Vienamese, not Chinese. The goods inside are mainly southeastern Asian stuff, not enough east Asian goods. I cannot imagine this is an Asian Market without Lao Gan Ma chili oil.
Great selection of items for a reasonable price. Nine times out if ten, the somewhat pushy but nice store owner will try to sell you sesame balls (which are decent).
Can be pricy. Mostly everything youd need for an asian dish.
After read the reviews, I designed to try this store and I was not happy about a lot of things. Some stuffs in there are expired and store smell funny. Have to wait for cashier for a long while, many people left because of that.
Love the large selection of ramen there
Rude and overpriced...drive to Broomfield or Denver.
Crowded and full to the rafters with Asian produce and goods. The produce is not the freshest but, if you need anything, you should be able to find it here.
Helpful when you cant find something and its all at a good price!
To my asian friends out there. This place offers variety of asian food here
Great selection and great prices. The staff is always very friendly.
Best asian market in boulder. The lady who runs it is quirky but sweet. They have a lot of selection, especially of dried and canned goods. Their produce isnt bad either. Prices knock the socks off of any asian food in a big name grocery, no question. Also the review Never again! is inaccurate. The lady who works there watches asian soap operas all day not surveillance cameras. She is very up front, but means well. She teases me for not being able to find things all the time.Go there, check it out, buy some asian candies (Hi-chew recommended).
Many unique items, Asian produce, selection is quite variable
The worst place I have been they had the ingredients I needed but the cashier was treating me like I was inconveniencing her time. I will never go back
