Love the tea but I wish they would go organic because a lot of pesticides can leak into tea. I’ve read reports that CS has high pesticide levels when the tea bags are tested. Also they are destroying wildlife by allowing land next to the facility to be developed and that also disappoints me. I guess I’ll have to look for another tea company that makes something similar to Bengal Spice! Tea for me is a spiritual act so I cannot ignore this disrespect to the land and to our bodies.
I am a forever customer of Celestial Seasonings, especially their Fast Lane tea which I was able to buy here by the caseload. It’s a must stop if you’re in the Boulder area. They offer a tasting room and a free tour and there’s things that you’re going to taste, smell and see that you’ll cherish as a memory long after you’ve left. The store has a variety of teas, accessories, Celestial Seasonings souvenirs, honey and so much more. I will definitely come back and visit again if I’m in the area, it’s just a fun thing to do. It’s so calm and peaceful here.
Very interesting tour. The tour guide was knowledgeable, friendly and passionate about the company and their teas. The tour had a lot of good information and the length was just about perfect. They had some sampling before the tour started, which included a wide variety of teas, including both hot and cold. I would recommend it for anyone in the area who had even a slight interest in the company and their teas.
Even though we are locals, we love this free tour! They always have new tea flavors to sample and the tea gift shop is delightful. All the samples of tea before the tour are free so when youre ready to buy in the end you know what youll really enjoy.Brought my ninety year-old mom here and she loved it. Do the tour and stay for lunch in the adorable Cafe. (Check out the time so because I dont think the cafes open on the weekends.) The art work all around you will put everyone in the happiest of moods.
They are planning to destroy a rare wildlife corridor with prairie dogs, foxes, minx, owls, and dozens more that depend on this. The reason? High density appartments to be sold out of state for profit. They once promised to protect this land and had signs up about the preserve. They should be stripped of their organic claims. Some of these species are under 1% of their original population almost endangered.
If you like tea (or even just nice smells) I would recommend coming and taking the tour. It is worth it just for the chance to go in the mint room. They separate the mint from the rest of the herbs in a special room. When you go in there it is so intensely minty. The tour also explains their history, how their process works, and how the teas are mixed and packed.
This was the cutest little tour! I’m not even a huge tea fan but this was so informative and fun! I love shows like how it’s made so naturally seeing all the BTS was a m a z i n g. There’s no photo taking allowed while in the factory area so either be sneaky or put them away cause they are not afraid to let you know lol. The tea tasting is also great, the only downside is there are only about 10 of the 80+ teas at any one time so hang around to try more!
A wonderful tour guide and tour (that mint room is STRONG!) and the beautiful gift shop made our trip here enjoyable and pleasant.
We did the 10 am tour on Friday. It was very fun and educating. The tour started at 10:10 and finished before 11. We saw the packaging and production lines, then went to the gift store. There is a cafe that opens at 7, but the rest doesn’t open until 10am. There were many on our tour and more inline for the others. You should go early, it gets really busy in the afternoon.
This was the third or fourth time taking the tour here. I absolutely love the mint room. It’s always interesting to see the way they do things every so often and I actually learned more this time than I remember the last few times. The gift shop is always full of awesome goods and we spent over $150 here. Now having an interesting time figuring out how we’re going to take it all home 😂
Really cool awesome free tour. Totally worth it. Cool history. This is the only factory in all of the world. You get to tour the packaging and see where they storw herbs and teas. And of course the mint room. Dont rub your eyes! Kids 5 and under not allowed. Tons of free samples of almost all of their offered teas. Really cool gift shop. Your ticket for the free tour is a sample tea packet. They also have a cafe to get grab to eat if you would like.
A favorite place to visit when Im in the Front Range. The tour is free and includes watching a film about the company and a walk through the actual factory. You will see lines of teas being blended, as well as bulk ingredient storage. I enjoyed standing in the mint storage room (great way to clear the sinuses). Their tea room has a large variety of teas that you may sample for no charge. The store has many teas (some that arent found in stores) as well as other gift items. All the staff were beyond friendly. Celestial is my favorite brand of tea, and I appreciate the effort they put into letting the public learn about their product.
This place is wonderful in so many ways. The story that it tells. The tour that it gives (for free). The samples that they provide in their tea shop. And the people that you meet at this place. The tours appear to be first-come, first served. You enter in to the tea house and sign up with a hostess right inside the door. You ticket for the tour is a teabag that you get to keep. We got there early and spent some money in the shop right next door. The staff was wonderfully friendly and recommended that we drive up to Estes after the tour. The tour starts with a short (~15 min) after which everyone gets a hair net (bald or not) and a beard net (if you have facial hair). Then you are taken on a walking tour of the factory floor. Our group was about 30 people ( no really young children are allowed) and we were taken through the part where the spices enter to the specific rooms (beware the peppermint room) right to where the teabags are made and packaged. The tour guides (2) did a wonderful job of explaining all of the steps and answering all the questions. It was definitely a wonderful tour and well worth the drive to get to the factory (the only factory).I highly recommend that anyone getting a chance should take the tour.
Celestial Seasonings wont be opening their tours! As of January 2021 they are under contract with a developer who is going to building a high density luxury complex on their land. Theyre doing this knowing that the ancient prairie dog colonies will be poisoned. I cant imagine drinking Celestials tea knowing theyre doing this yards away from where its produced. Unfortunately, Boulder City Counsel is in favor of this development. Greed always wins :(
Wow! We loved this experience! This was certainly a highlight of our day in Boulder, and even higher in our list than most other stops in Denver area. If you are a tea drinker, this is a must see! If you are not a tea drinker, this is where you learn to appreciate it. The free tour includes tasting your choices among 85 different varieties of CS tea, including some very rare and unique ones. In addition you get to appreciate the company culture, interact with the guide and the family of employees. This company is part of the foundation and the cultural life in Boulder. The gift shop is certainly beyond the usual trinket shop, yes it has all their teas, but in addition it is full of cool artistic design on useful items, things you will not find anywhere else, and yet very economically priced. They even have pastries you can purchase to enjoy with the free tea samples, and their cool employee cafe is open to the public. The tour has a minimum age, but families with very little ones or people with limited time can still watch the movie and skip the factory floor tour straight onto the gift shop.
My late father loved Celestial Seasonings tea. It always brought a smile to my face when I would see the tea brand abroad. When I moved to Colorado I ended up right across the street from the factory, and I thought that was pretty cool. Until Celestial Seasonings announced plans to sell the natural habitat for prairie dogs and other endangered species to a condo development. Commence lifelong boycott of Celestial Seasonings tea.
For a company that claims to be environmentally friendly, Celestial Seasoning can talk the talk but they do not walk the walk. They told us all about their prairie dog preserve and their commitment to the wildlife habitat on the tour. However, they are still planning on relocating the prairie dogs and selling the land to developers to pave over the habitat. We should not be supporting this company.
Best Earl Grey around! They only have it available as a food service tea, but I go there once a year every year to get a bulk box for my dad for Christmas. And every kid from Boulder can probably tell you how long they were able to stay in the peppermint room (I did not last very long. haha). Cant wait to be able to go back again when they reopen! Hopefully they are using this time to change up the quotes on the tea bags, because though it is true that no man is an island unto himself and love is not love which alters when it alteration finds, we need some new wisdom!
I love this place. The tour is awesome and I love that it is free. Their gift shop is amazing. Bring a large wallet and space in your car because you will probably buy the whole store.
This place is fabulous! You can try as many teas as you like before and after the tour. The have a cute little gift shop. The tour is very informative and smells wonderful. Plus, they have teas you cant buy at the store. My favorite, Fast Lane! Try it and buy it!
Great place to visit! The tour was interesting and you were able to see the entire working factory! We got to pass by the different herbs and enjoy the aromatics from them. Watching the machines work and learning interesting facts kept my interest! Took about 20 minutes which was long enough. We were able to sample UNLIMITED teas in the tasting room!Awesome gift shop too. Very happy we took the time to visit.
If you love herbal tea then this place is heaven! I found flavors I didnt even know they had. The tasting room was pleasant and being able to sample some of the teas before deciding to purchase them was wonderful. There are also unique, quirky and useful gifts in the store from tea infuses to t-shirts. Cups for everyones taste/style and even lip balms in their tea flavors! Im definitely going back for a tour in the near future too!
I took the tour and it was just plain awful.
So much fun! Visit the warehouse where the teas are made by taking a tour.Food was delicious at lunch.Nice area to sit and taste test different teas.Fun gift shop and so many different kinds of tea available for purchase!
I have been to Celestial Seasonings a few times now. I love the drive up to the visitors center you can smell great tea from far away. I was a little sad the last time I was there because I think they stopped making one of my favorite teas. But I recommend visiting if you love tea or want to try something new!
We love the tour and even if we arent going to take the tour, the tea shop makes a great stop to try the hot and cold teas and possibly find a new favorite. My grandson loves herbal teas and enjoys doing taste testing, and checking out the cute bear and fireplace display in the tea room. We cant wait until hes old enough to enjoy the tour.
Such a wonderful place to visit! The smell is intoxicating from all of the different herbal infusions and teas being blended. I especially loved the peppermint room! Tour is fantastic and very informative. I will visit again! 💕
I am a fond user of sleep aid teas. I purchased sleepy time tea (this was a first) prepared two tea bags and let it simmer for 10 minutes as I have on several occasions with other teas. That was four hours ago nothing happen.
The tour was amazing. I️ wish that the tour was a little longer but for a free tour it was not bad at all. I️ loved how you got to taste as many teas as you wanted. I️ spent about an hour and a half tasting a bunch of teas. Everyone was so friendly there and it felt like they wanted to see us. Once I️ was in the gift shop everyone was very nice and even encouraged us to try the tea before we purchased a box. Such a great experience.
What a unique experience! Having come here for the first time in 2003 and many times since then, the experience is surreal each visit. They have a really unique gift shop selling all their teas, serving ware, and a variety of health and beauty items. There’s a rotating set of tea products you can try out in their lobby every day and the factory tour is a must! We always take our out of town guests to Celestial Seasonings and they are never short of being amazed. Oh, and don’t forget to try the mint room on the tour!
Sip, rest, relax, and repeat. If you’re visiting the Denver area and need a little self-care time away from the busy city scape, than take a nice cruise into the countryside of Boulder to Celestial Seasonings Tea Factory. You’ll be greeted with a warm welcome and a petite tasting cup for you to taste test any of their unique flavors for free prior to beginning the tour. More interestingly, if there’s a particular flavor you want to try and they don’t have it out, they’ll gladly pour you some hot water with that tea bag.The tour is no longer than 45 minutes where you watch a short and quite humorous video on the company’s story to present day. Born and bred out of the summer of love movement of 1969, Celestial Seasonings keeps true to their roots by maintaining pride in their fairtrade and organic practices.Feel free to ask the tour guide any of your curiosities about Tea and the knowledgeable staff will have an educated answer. For example, when asked “How is Tea Decaffeinated?” the guide explained their special process of sending their tea to Germany to utilize a patented process of carbon dioxide removal, rather than using harsh chemicals as most other tea manufacturers use.Following the tour you’ll end up in a Gift Shop that’s a Health-Conscious consumers paradise with walls full of organic soaps, shampoos, lotions, and plenty of delightful and inspiring houseware and home decor in traditional Celestial Seasonings fashion.
The wife took me here for my birthday. The smells are amazing. And of course the tour gives you the history as well as the process of how they obtain/ mix the spices. The gift shop is also great because you can get tea that are not regularly in stores. I’ll try and find my pictures.
Love the tour. The gift shop seems smaller than before, but still nice with lots of teas and accessories. Free samples of hot tea before the tours. Tour is better for adults and older children, but everyone enjoys the mint room.
I love coming here. The tea tour is so interesting. First you get to taste test some tea and then you get to see the machines package and wrap the tea into boxes. Also during the tour you can step into the mint room where, if you stay too long, the menthol in the air will make your eyes water but its amazing. Afterwards, its nearly impossible not to take home a few boxes of tea! I highly recommend it.
I love their tour and take everyone from out of town here. They have a lovely tasting area and cafe, as well as a well- appointed and tasteful shop. Its definitely our cup of tea!
Excellent tour and teas.
This tea shop and tour center is a favorite local place to visit, the tour is a blast. The shop has amazing selection, always stocked well, cannot get better customer service. Need anything ask the friendly staff. The manager is great as well.
An excellent choice for a free excursion! Tour was wonderful, short enough to keep us engaged while showing us the inner workings of the factory. Loved sampling different teas and the gift shop with very good pricing!
A Colorado icon. Whats not to love about this place? They have all your favorite teas, cups, gifts, friendly and welcoming staff, and tours! A must visit place for out-of-towners and as a local, I go here just for the experience, and of course to get all my favorite teas!
Free tea tasting when you enter, lovely displays of tea pots. However the free tour and tour master was something to be desired. You couldnt hear her speak over the sounds of the equipment. And not very interesting info given about the picking, and flavorings.
This is the perfect place for a family outing, friend adventure, date, you name it! The tour is free and super fun (go in the Mint Room, its worth the experience) and lasts around 30 min.🎉Once through the area where you get your tickets, you can try over 50 kinds of Celestial Seasonings teas for free while you wait!😍 This is my favorite place to go when Ive been. If youre a tea drinker, this is this place to be. Dont have time for the tour? Just walk in, grab one of the ceramic cups on the tray and try some teas!🍵 The store is good to browse through and the perfect place to go after tea tasting or the tour to stock up on any Celestial Seasonings teas you liked or ran out of at home. If its lunchtime and youre a little hungry, stop by the Celestial Seasonings cafeteria and get a sandwich and a salad!
Such a fun tour! Cant wait to go back when we can see the assembly lines running. Went on the weekend and factory was pretty empty, but still very fun.
Recommend the free tour. It is quick and you get too smell quite a bit of their products. The peppermint room was overpowering but interesting. Tour guide was knowledgeable and happy to answer any questions. They also have tea samples before the tour which was nice to try. Check it out next time you are in Boulder.
Free tour that shows you the process in their plant and smell the flavors of their tea ingredients as you walk. Informative. Free tea drinks and samples to take home. At the end, there is a cute shop with reasonably priced gifts and mementos. Worth your time if you or a loved one loves tea.
Ive been on the tour several times in the last 5 years and I always enjoy myself. My kids love it too. They like going into the peppermint room.
The Celestial Seasonings tour is a lovely time! Free tea samples are available while you wait for the tour to begin. Your ticket for the free tour is a sample pack of tea. The tour guides are entertaining with plenty of tea-based puns sprinkled throughout their routines. You get to see the factory floor and all the neat, specialized tools. A wonderful experience!
Fun place to get your tea of choice. Good place to take the tea lover in your life. Take the tour if youre a tea person. Free taste samples.
They treat you really well! You can taste all their tea and buy all the special limited edition ones at the factory! They have a huge gift shop! And the factory tour is informative and fun! And the best part is that the tour is free, which totally helps you want to buy tea at the end, which is also a great souvenir! Kids under 5 are not allowed on tours.
Supposedly its open, but its not, its closed. Took a long trip to get here for my mom, who wanted to buy a bunch of Christmas presents, and the place said it was open, but its not.
Amazing place! We planned to get here early, put our name in, and then go for a walk but ended up staying instead. Mind you we got here 40 mins early for the tour and realized they had 6 or so different free teas (herbal infusions) to try and a cafe to hang out in. Great ambiance in there and then the tour itself was really interesting. Loved it!
This was a free tour. The employees was very friendly and able to answer questions. It was interesting to learn how the tea is processed form plants to packaging. I went on a weekend so the plant wasnt running, however we were able to hear the guide no problem. There is a tasting room where you can try all their teas (except Sleepytime extra) and a gift shop where you can buy tea and tea accessories. Parking was free too
Such a fun tour! Don’t worry about getting there right on time, you get to sample a variety of tea as you wait. The tour is very interesting and it’s almost like free aroma therapy as you walk through the floor. They also have a wide variety of teas in their gift shop that makes it hard not to leave without a few boxes. Also a great place if you are looking for a gift for a coffee/tea drinker!
I have been wanting to tour the place for a while. I finally did and it was so much fun! I felt a little like Charlie in the chocolate factory. Ok, maybe not as spectacular but it was pretty great! This is something every tea lover (and anyone who likes fun!) should do!
Educational and interesting tour and then the selection of herbal teas in the gift shop is awesome. The taste testing before the tour is great. Go have fun. The tour is free, the teas are $2.49 the same as the store.
Loved it so much the tour guide was fun and full of knowledge about the tea. Loved the gift shop sorry the cafe is shut on Sundays. But loved it anyway.
Great tea! Excellent company philosophy! Every time we come to Colorado, we stop for a tour and replenish our stocks of celestial tea. I really like this place! Their cafe has an excellent selection and their guides share a lot of information. Great company!
The tour was very informative and the guide had a great sense of humor. The guide made sure to give every bit of information some kind of frame of reference so it wasnt all facts and numbers, but things you could visualize or imagine. Its really cute that the tour tickets are tea samples.
We had a great time.A free tour which gives you generous samples of any tea as well as take home packets? It was a nice way to spend a free day.The gift shop ladies were especially sweet and helpful. We found every tea we liked and couldn’t find at our local stores and grabbed a few mugs. For a gift shop, we were surprised by how low the prices were. The only hang up was a lack of Tension Tamer mugs.
You must stop here!! give yourself at least half an hour to try all the different teas and then do a tour of the factory its wonderful to see it!! Actually stop at the gift shop and stock up on your favorite tea!!
Lets face it. If your going here you love tea. While the tea is phenomenal the service this past weekend was not. Short staffed. Could only try the teas already on display which is not the norm. Rating is based on the tea alone, it is delicious.
This is a spot I often take our house guests who are visiting Colorado. It’s always enjoyed and a hit - especially with little ones. The mint room creates a great memory, we get to try all the teas we want, and the shopping at the end is fun too. Highly recommend a visit to this awesome place that lets you tour and taste.
This was probably the most fun tour Ive ever been on. The smells are heavenly, the info is really interesting, and the selection of teas to buy at the end is amazing. Try the Vermont Maple Ginger tea, it is an absolute life changer. I cant wait to come here again next time Im in Boulder.
You’ll love this free tour of Celestial Seasonings! Plan for 1 to 1.5 hours while you enjoy tea tastings, a narrated factory tour and time to browse the amazing tea store and gift shop. Great tour for locals and visitors alike!
What a Magical Place!! I really enjoyed the Tea Tasting, the Tour was so enjoyable and informative!! The Gift Shop was the Greatest Treat!! I was able to find several Treasures. The Staff was great, so friendly and helpful. I am looking forward to going again, next visit!
Wear comfy shoes! All the flooring is cement and theres limited seating while waiting for your tour to begin. Our guide was great, the tour was interesting, and the whole place smells amazing. Each staffer we interacted with was wonderful. Wish Id gone sooner, but will definitely be back!
Great tour loaded with sensory delights and unlimited tasting. A bit of history and humor can go a long way here. Very interesting operation. Curious corporate culture. Would love to travel abroad with this company. As close to family as a manufacturer could hope to get. Pleasurable time with smiles and giggling included in a gratis performance. Try it. You will love it.
Celestial Seasonings has a very relaxed family feel and a very enjoyable free factory tour. Be careful, the peppermint will knock your socks off! Make sure and try all the free samples in the tasting room.
Welcomed with free tea samples and free tea tasting. You can try any of their nearly 100 flavors! Very fun, educational, and aromatic tour of the factory. Just wait until you reach the mint room! Restaurant attached is cute and serves decent lunch food. Its definitely worth the visit, a highlight of visiting Denver/Boulder! Perfect for tea lovers!
Really enjoyed the tour of the facility. Learned about the companys history and the process of creating unique tea blends. Fun to sample and then have the opportunity to purchase teas that you wont find in stores. Fun for Colorado residents and out of town guests. The mint room was intense!
Celestial seasonings was so cute and fun! I went with my family and right away when we walked in we were greeted by our friendly tour guide! She lead us to a great variety of teas to sample and choose from. It was so fun to try all of the different flavors! Also, doing this allows you to pick your favorite that way you know what to buy. As for going on the tour in the factory, it was probably the best I’ve experienced. You actually get to see what they do behind the scenes. The gift shop at the end has a lot of cool things and most of the merchandise is reasonably priced.
This place looked excellent unfortunately they were closed ☹️ due to Covid 19.😷
