I loved the old menu as it had way more options. The options now are much fewer but still have plenty of delicious vegan desserts. Favorite vegan dessert shop in Boston!

The ice cream is the perfect amount of richness - I wouldn’t have known it was plant based if they didn’t tell me. The grasshoper pie is amazing if you like tea-adjacent flavors, and there was a good balance of sweet & bitter in the chocolate pudding flavor. You get a decent bit of ice cream in the micro, imo.

I stopped by today to get some ice cream, and was reminded just how giant their small size is. You can get multiple flavors in your cup, so get creative. They have vanilla, chocolate, coffee, and fruit based choices! Bring your appetite!! Ive bought a chocolate cake at their Fenway location as well for a work birthday, and it was divine. You really cant go wrong with anything here. Their store is so neat and spacious, and feels so well ventilated for the covid cautious. A great reprieve from the summer heat!

Wow such great ice cream. I bought the cookies and cream and loved it. Also bought a pint of their peanut butter chocolate cookie ice cream, but that was yummy too. Very creamy and soft like gelato.

Interior is beautiful. I had the chocolate pudding ice cream which was delicious!!! Had sprinkles of salt on it which made it special. All their ice creams are made with a coconut milk base unless stated otherwise (sometimes soy, etc). They also have gluten-free cones which I had since I’m gluten intolerant and that was yum.

Everyone in our group loved every flavor, vanilla bean, grasshopper pie, smores and cookies and cream. Delicious and creamy, no one missed the dairy.

Their ice cream is decent, at best. I got the raspberry crumble, which was too sweet and sour. The coconut flavor is very strong and my friends and I were sick afterwards.

Just incredible ice cream, vegan or not. So rich and creamy, so delicious, and the flavors are so strong and defined, it makes for an indulgent experience. Extremely helpful staff and great place to stop on a hot day.

I was excited to try this place, as Id heard so much hype on the vegan ice cream. Was sorely disappointed, as its very expensive and youd be better off buying a pint of Talenti sorbet in the store. We had the Raspberry Crumble flavor, which was just not good (too sweet and sour, and not in a good way). Also making a correction to earlier, the menu board mentioned a soy base for the flavors, but per owner comment is made with coconut.We also both felt a bit sick after eating this, so minus stars for this as well. The music was blasting far too loud, otherwise spoiling what would be a cute interior.

Went here based on other positive Google reviews. I had the peppermint and the chocolate ice cream and both were really good. Only issue was a couple small icy parts in the peppermint but I did get the last scrapes of that flavor. Wouldnt have know it was vegan if I hadnt read about it.

The peanut butter flavors pairs really well with the creamy coconut flavor of the ice cream base. (Once you get a few bites in, you stop noticing the coconut.) Earl Grey shortbread is so flavorful!The texture feels EXACTLY like regular ice cream. Its full-bodied ice cream, not like that watery Breyers bs you buy at the supermarket thats 50% ice, this is 100% coconut cream and flavor.Only downside is that its pricey. Bought a few pints to take home, around $10/pint.

Shop also sells coffee and other drinks, but focus on the ice cream!Fomu also offers pints that you can take home, which is a great way to enjoy their products. The ice cream is more expensive than just going to Ben & Jerrys, but it is worth it for the taste and the ingredients.Theyre open all through the winter, so you can enjoy their cold treats whenever youd like. One of the best spots for ice cream in the city.

Theres great creativity with the ice cream flavors that makes me think of Ben and Jerrys flavors with chunks and bits of fun stuff inside the ice cream. While some you can taste coconut from the coconut milk used to create the non-dairy ice cream, there are many where all you taste is creamy goodness. It can get busy on a warm Summer day, but its worth a visit. If you have friends that are lactose intolerant, they also have great cakes and will do take away pints and more.

I am Italian. I always like to try new places. This time I got Affogato (4/5) my wife got waffle cone chocolate peanut butter and caramel pumpkin pie ice cream(1/5). My kiddo chocolate mini ice cream. Portions are HUGE that we all could not eat even half of it and had to throw it away. The pumpkin ice cream was all with piece of ice in it really something that you shouldnt sell. After 2 hours we still feel disturbed from the ice cream. I think if the quantity would be 1/3 of it we would have enjoyed more but still a little disturbed.Will not go back, rather go to Amorino or Delinis Gelato.

The staff could tell I had no idea how to navigate the menu, and needed some help. They were super helpful, patient, and amiable. The ice cream was as good as the service. Though one of my friends had an allergic reaction here before they started labelling their allergens, I had a good experience.

Veery tasty gelato! Creative flavors (Golden Milk, Earl Grey?) might surprise some less experimental folks but hey, you still have classics to choose from. Half of our group couldnt believe it was all vegan!

This place has a very nice atmosphere its very peaceful and a prefect place to study. Ive only tried the lavender and the avocado flavors and in my opinion it starts out tasting like the actual flavor but theres always a coconut aftertaste. Makes sense because they use coconut milk as a base but it could be overwhelming sometimes.

If I had known it was vegan/plant based ice cream I would never have stopped. But since we did and bought the peanut butter chocolate cookie pint and a brownie... It tasted pretty good. I would actually get it again. Just goes to show you cant judge a dessert by whats NOT in it.

FoMu is amazing! About 10 years ago I found out that I had a dairy allergy. As a result, I have had to find non-dairy alternatives to satisfy my ice cream cravings. FoMu provides a wide variety of flavors and its all dairy free! I would suggest this place to anyone who is seeking a dairy alternative.

I’ve eaten a lot of ice cream in many different places.... FoMu is one of the best! I had some of the blueberry shortbread, lavender, rockiest road, chocolate cookie dough, and coffee. All are absolutely delicious!

So glad this opened in the South End - we needed a great ice cream shop. This place is AMAZING. Wonderful flavors you would not ever have thought of - try the avocado at least once. Shop is beautiful, open and airy with plenty of seating including tables, comfy chairs, and even a place for kids. Go welcome them to the neighborhood!

The flavors were incredible, and most of them are gluten free! They also have a wonderful selection of gluten free cookies, and their shortbread goes into the ice cream (blueberry shortbread ice cream, anyone?) and is absolutely delicious. The prices, however, are quite steep and frankly a tad obnoxious.

Great customer service! I wish Id gotten the name of the 2 really great people that served us our ice cream tonight; they were nice & very knowledgeable; but what really stood out for me was the friendliness & laughter - they made us feel at home immediately. As for the Ice cream, I LOVE FoMu! And thats saying a lot coming from me because I dont like coconut. Coconut overpowers all other flavors: if I have coconut almond milk on my cereal, I cant even taste the cereal, I ONLY taste coconut, and thats been my experience with everything made with coconut, EXCEPT FoMu! Ive had FoMu at Veggie Galaxy but Id never been to the FoMu shop until tonight and it was great. I tried several flavors Id never tried before & loved them all. I highly recommend this shop or this product if you buy it elsewhere! As I always mention in my reviews when relevant, going here supports a small, local, independently owned business.

My good friend found this place and told me about and took pictures of his chippywitch. I live in NJ and had to give it a try the next time I was back in Boston.We finally went here two weeks ago and the place is pretty big. The had a few lounge chairs by the window and I think two long benches. Cool, very relaxed atmosphere.I got the cookies n cream and a strawberry, banana smoothie. Very good! We ended up staying there for like, two hours. Before we left, I got another smoothie because it was so good. Definitely a place to come back to whenever Im back home.
