Had a great experience at Ell-Bern. I was having some car issues that were addressed promptly. The staff constantly communicated with me throughout the process. I asked if they could do an oil change and tire rotation on top of the repair and they did it no problem! Very reasonably priced.

This business is absolutely amazing! Everyone that works there is so nice and goes above and beyond to help their customers. They are fast and efficient and so kind. I’ve never had such a great experience at a car place! This one was amazing (best auto place experience I’ve ever had had). It’s the only place to use in Boston in my opinion (especially if you are a young attractive women & men are usually predatory toward you at auto shops). I had come here for a vehicle inspection previously and everyone was extremely polite and professional. I am new to the area and a couple people recommended this place. Came back when I heard some noises coming from my car. Once again everyone I dealt with was extremely nice and they were very honest. I dropped off my car and they were able to get back to very promptly. I will definitely be coming back for future car issues or maintenance. Highly recommend.

Went in today for an inspection and an oil change, they quoted me 50 something or other for the fully synthetic oil change and 35 on inspection as posted on their store front. Guys were great to me and quick service. I did however fail my inspection for a headlight, 2 plate lights, and 1 side marker light. I had them fix it for ease and not wanting to come back for the pass sticker or pay for it again elsewhere, but they are easy fixes. After I left I looked up the light prices at autozone and wasn’t pleased to find I was up charged $20 on the headlight, and $10 on the other 3 as they are the same light. That’s $50, and then they charged me $45 for labor.. it took all of 10 minutes. I want my $100 back! I understand a small upcharge for convenience and happy to pay them for their time, but I feel ripped off.

Great place, went for the inspection, quick and easy. Before I left I asked if by chance they could help me figure out who to go to because my car seat handle that opens up to the backseat was very hard. The guy started checking out right away and added some oil to something underneath the seat and voila! He wouldn’t charge me for that, and the lady and guy who worked with me were fantastic.

Always great service. The knowledge of German cars gives me great confidence in the advice I get and the professionalism that is applied to my Audi.Honest, friendly and reasonably priced. That is hard combination to beat these days.

Get a quote first! Brought my car in to have one tire replaced and my front tires rotated with my rears. With a hydraulic lift and impact gun, for a mechanic, thats 10 minutes of work moving slowly. They charged me $60 for the rotation which is the equivalent of about 45minutes of work but he took the $5 disposal fee off because I complained and their prices are set. Your set prices will have me never come back.The only price that was quoted to me upfront was $35 to mount the tire. I asked to rotate the tires. I did not ask for balancing. We are in a pandemic and some of us CANNOT work and are loving of savings but thanks for being condescending in your reply. Also no one was wearing masks that was working there.

These guys saved my bacon on this Saturday afternoon when my tire went soft. I searched for a tire shop near me and this came up as closest. I pulled in just to use the air pump but the eagle eye mechanic made a quick diagnosis that there was a hole near the edge of the tread.At first it seemed like a temporary patch would Be the best they could do but I drove off less than half an hour later with a permanent patch and much gratitude.If I lived nearby theyd be my new mechanics.

Got my state inspection here. I had to ask them to wear a mask in my car (how is that not the default?) but when I asked, they did without complaint. Also gave me a disinfecting wipe afterward for the keys and interior, which I appreciated.

Best place to get your inspection sticker. Came here after Boch Toyota quoted $400 bucks to get my car fixed (and only half fixed by the looks of what Ell-Bern did for me in the end). Came to Ell Bern and was charged 1/4th of the price to resolve 100% of my issues in half the time it took Bock Toyota to look into my car. This place has honestly, integrity and beyond that professionalism which all are very difficult to find in the auto repair service

This garage is a neighborhood gem. They have kept my 17 year old car up and running like a top since I acquired it in 2017. They are trustworthy, fair, friendly, I just cant say enough about all the guys who I deal with there, including the mechanics (who I dont deal with directly). They explain the problem clearly, give me options and always deliver on time and stand by their work. Auto work can be confusing and expensive to those of us not in the know. Having a place that I trust to take care of my car relieves my stress, especially because I know that they go the extra mile.

Haydar and Steve were great. Needed a power steering hose replaced which they did quickly and for a fair price. They also walked me through my options for my leaky CV boots including transparent quotes for all options. Super friendly, easy to work with. Highly recommend.

A few years ago, these guys tried to take advantage of my wife during an inspection by failing her and saying her windshield wipers were no good. The wipers were fine, They just wanted to sell her new wipers. Brought the car to another shop, the car passed, no problem. These guys are not honest. I live right next to them and would give them all my business, however, I decided I would never bring my car there again for anything whatsoever. Well shame on me because I tried one more time to get my inspection done there. MISTAKE. Same issues. I’ll pay another honest shop the extra fee just to not have to deal with this place. If you ever find yourself thinking that bringing your car here is a good idea, think again. Don’t do it.**To your response, you’re lying. You tried to sell my wife wipers directly after failing the car. So please, don’t lie to make yourself sound like you don’t try to rip people off. Own it. I would bring both of my cars to you for anything and everything but every time I’ve done that, it backfires due to how you run your business. So like I said, shame on me for trying again.

Ill never take my car there again and will not recommend it. Please consider taking you car to a different place. Horrible service. Not professional

There arent a ton of auto shops that will tell you the truth about what the heck that rattle is, but this place (and Steve in particular) will and they will be honest about what it will take to fix it. I brought my car in for a repair I put off for MONTHS and of course left it to the last minute before needing an inspection, but Steve took a look, told me what the fix would entail, and turned everything around really quickly. Its where I will go from now on for all the rattles and dings. Thanks!

Super nice guys here--I came in for an inspection before work and they were nice, thoughtful, competent, and advised me well. I just bought a car this weekend so needed an inspection sticker. I failed because one of the break lights was out. The guy walked me through it, told me to go back to the dealer to have it fixed, and was really nice. Said hed redo the inspection for free after they fixed it! Id definitely go back. FYI, its cash only for inspections.

I brought my car in for inspection, and Steve took the time to show me and explain to me exactly what the likely problem was that led to my cars failure to pass. No sales pitch, no spin, just a really trustworthy, straightforward guy. So refreshing! Im glad I took my car here - they are honest and efficient, were able to fix my car quickly, and charged me far less than it would have cost at the dealers, or any other place Ive taken my car to in the past.

These guys are friendly but they run the lights out scam when you try to get your car inspected.It goes like this: your side light is out, let me replace it for 10$, and since I didnt take a picture before I dont have proof. When you go to pay he says its actually 15 so watch out for this!!!

I brought my car into Ell Bern to have the brakes looked at, and get some new tires mounted. Being the indecisive person that I am, I changed my mind on the tires I wanted after the order was already made. The owner of the shop allowed me to change my order and return the original tires at no cost. My brakes and rotors were changed out, and they felt better than they did the day I purchased my car 3 years ago. Everything was done in a timely manner, and everything is done with quality products (which is important to me). I would highly recommend doing business here, especially if you care about your vehicle.

SUV towed to them Fri. afternoon - my sons college room loaded inside ready to come home. Ali and Steve looked at the car, order needed part and had me on the road early next day. This is the real deal when it comes to detail and car wash! If you are a car person and need paint correction or clay bar or ceramic coating this is the place. I booked an appointment a week in advance, dropped off the car Saturday morning and picked it up in the afternoon. Very professional and a master of his craft! Highly recommend.

From the time we first heard the horrific noise on I-93 and called then as the nearest shop to the time we were driving away in a repaired vehicle was just under 2 hours!!The service was fast and the people were courteous and professional! Check them out!!

Walked my rim over because tire came off bead and I was on side of road. Was closest shop walking distance. 5min process to mount my tire back on and they charged me $40??? Most places will charge $10-15 to mount a tire. Absurd price and did not tell me the cost until after the fact. No warrantee either if it comes off again. Took advantage of me, do not go here. Local resident who will no longer give them any business. I recommend Frans Auto just a few miles away in dorechester.

Avoid this place at all cost!! This place is convenient and wanted to give it a try. I brought in my car d/t break issues and they diagnosed it with master cylinder needed replacement. Paid about $500 bucks for it. I thought ok that’s reasonable but when I got the car same the break still delayed didn’t notice any changes. Brought it back the next day and the guy “fixed” it but still the issue is there. I was not happy with their service and will not do business with them going forward. Oh and another occasion I went in with flat tire and had my tire but they said it was no good need a new one and the price will b 100 and something, then I went to another shop and they said my tire is good just 10 dollars to put it back. They’re not honest.

Stopped here while in Boston because my exhaust pipe was hanging too low. Were from Vermont on vacation so we were kind of under pressure to find somebody quick. Gary was nice and helpful. He explained everything to me and didnt seem in a rush when I asked a lot of questions. He noticed something else wrong that needed fixing, but he wasnt pushy about saying it needed to be done. He seemed very trustworthy. I also noticed as we were leaving another customer came in with her car and she greeted him by name, so they must have some loyal customers.Payed more than I had hoped to going (had to replace the whole exhaust, it was rusted out), but thats normal for car repairs, haha. I trust the guy and believe he gave me an honest deal.

Years of wasting money at the dealer and other Euro mechanics made me pretty cynical, so I was really taken aback by my experience at Ell Bern. Have been ripping off the community for as far as i can remember. Yes they are very rude. They make their off of people that dont know no better. Like the college students North Eastern ect. They need to be shut down.FYI they dont like colored people at. They dont mine letteing you know it either! Spend your money some where else. Your moneys green but your ski. Isnt. I ve seen them having customers coming back just because!!! Shame on them. Thumbs down all around!!!👎

Getting an inspection was never faster! Wish every place was like this. Not sure about auto repair work but will give it a try when I need it. Location seems pretty well kept.

Not an honest shop!!My car failed inspection there due to a suspension issue. I took it to another shop, and watched 3 mechanics look at it under a lift and all conclude nothing was wrong with the suspension. Then I took it to another shop that does inspection tests, and I watched two more mechanics look at it there to also conclude that the suspension had no issues. I ended up paying the $35 fee again at the other shop. Eli-Bern has a convenient location, but theyll waste your time and money with incorrect inspections. Save your time and go elsewhere.

A few weeks ago I had a tire blow out in Boston. I bought 4 tires at Ell Bern Tire Center on Tremont Street. This Monday, my dealership told me the tires didnt meet the Volvo load rating (?) and I didnt pass inspection. Today I returned to Ell Bern and the owner replaced the tires at no cost. Thank you Ali!If you are one of my Boston friends, please support this local and ethical business.

Have mildly modified Supra that has been having on and off issues. Haydar was able to track down them and get it back up and running. Even got me in for some last minute repair work recently. No one better!!

These guys did a great job on Saturday for me. A little bit of a wait but actual inspection took 10 minutes. If you live in the south end, could not be more convenient.

After running over a tire and I ordered a new one online (since Town Fair Tire was going to charge double for the tire). Ell-Bern was down the street from me. They removed my old tire and installed the new one. I was in an out in about 20 something minutes for $35 (cash only, but atm on premises). They were very friendly, upfront, and very quick. Highly recommend to South Enders!

I was treated horribly here. After a failed inspection for my tire he failed to tell me they sold tires! Told me to get a new tire else where. Then when I called after leaving to ask what time they open he hung up on me. Never delt with service this unprofessional from any auto shop.DAY:2 UPDATEafter speaking with the manager after my first review he ensured i would be taken care of the following day. I made Ali aware I would be in first thing in the morning prior to work. I arrived at 7:10 am and waited about 10 mins to be told the manager is not available by the same guy that was extremely rude to me. I made him aware of the discussion and asked that hed assist me in Alis absence. He responded: Im alone and im only doing inspections, not tire changes. I made the guy aware I was told to come in at 7:00 and that i would be helped. He responded well its 7:20 (sarcastically) at this point I became upset as anyone would who got up early to make an appointment and made arraignments for coverage at work to be stood up after being treated disrespectfully. I stated how frustrated i was to come back a second time to be humiliated and antagonized with his sarcastic responses. I immediately left. I called AGAIN after getting to work around 9:00 am and was told the manager is still not available (as he chuckled on the other end of the phone) Im so disgusted and annoyed that im honestly thinking about not returning and paying for another inspection to be preformed. I dont know how this place has four stars.

One of the costliest and unprofessional shop to go in. Its inappropriate to hang up a call in between saying “have a good day” before you listen to customer needs and problems. Saying busy shop and you dont need customer is the worst reply you can give.I would never recommend this shop. Wrong attitude.
