Absolutely loved the coffee!!! I ordered their Jack o lantern with oat milk and it was a great fall bevie. Also picked up a bag of Guatemalan whole beans Im excited to try. May buy a coffee farm in Guatemala based on the experience...

We went to hopscotch for the first time and it was delicious! I got a cappuccino with lavender syrup...it was incredible hands down! The savory flavor of the lavender mixed the slight sweetness from the cappuccino was just perfect! I’m excited to try they’re other syrups on our next trip (probably the rose flavor...yum!) Just ask which syrups they have available to pick your favorite! We also got a breakfast Sammich which was also very tasty! They are doing pickup only due to COVID and everyone is very conscious and safe. Can’t wait for our next visit!!

Everything we got here was great! The drinks hit the spot and were made well. The food was exceptional. We got the breakfast sandwich and an earl grey muffin. Will certainly be back whenever we are in town

HEROES work here! The employees at the B-Line location are incredible! I was being harassed by a man in front of the store and they let me come inside for shelter while two employees chased him down the street with pepper spray! These people know how to get things done. And the coffee is AMAZING!

Those other coffee shops will tell you that they cant get a cappuccino to foam with plain old almond milk. These guys are professionals. Pros really. We are lucky to have them. Super flavorful grind combined with the light and creamy foam. Yum. Plus the atmosphere is condusive to actually getting quality work done.

Great spot to do work or study, casual, aesthetic, and most importantly great coffee. Traditional menu yet unique to Hopscotch based on their beans, brewing, and roasting techniques.

We have endless options for coffee shops in town but hopscotch is by far a favorite. Their contactless pickup and measures to keep themselves and others safe during this time has not gone unnoticed. Their coffee and other beverages are fantastic as well! We always keep a bag or two of beans (recommend smart shark!) at home to tide us over between trips.

I loved all of the drinks I tried here and loved their seating space. Got to try the blackberry date smoothie, the fuzz petal (cardamom soda with a shot of espresso), the lavender latte. It’s a great space.

We drunk one coltado, one latte, and one apple cider. I think the coffee flavor was well along with milk! And my friend said apple cider was not much sweet and its acidity was low so she liked it. Coltado volume was small but if you want strong flat white, it would be good choice!

We werent very pleased with our experience here. We got a scalded cappuccino and a dense bagel. The space was cute though! Good location.

Yesterday was my second time at Hopscotch and my first time since the quarantine. They have a setup where customers order at the door so they dont have to go inside. There are single use paper menus and laminated menus outside on a table. Then they bring your drink out and put it on a different table where you pick it up. There is no outdoor seating and we were standing off to the side waiting for some friends to come and they asked us to wait somewhere else which was fine.My friend ordered something from the menu and the person taking orders didnt know what it was based on the name. They got our orders correct though and everything tasted good.

My coffee shop of choice every time I visit Bloomington. Good vibes and good coffee if a teeny tiny bit pretentious (as you expect with pour-over and the like). Wish it was a little more centrally located but love that they’re breathing some new life into the south / west side neighborhoods! Great spot. Great name. Great coffee.

One of our Bloomington staples for morning coffee on the weekends. The food brought in from Rainbow Bakery and other local places is good for a quick breakfast but they dont have a kitchen themselves. I mostly get drip coffee but their mochas and lattes are amazing!

Nice Place! One of the best in Bloomington for sure. Always friendly staff and spacious seating arrangements. There is a strong coffee smell that will stick to your clothes and backpacks after you leave-So if you are sensitive to scents keep that in mind.

Oh Hopscotch, I love you. Im a remote worker at Dimension Mill, and we are blessed with Hopscotch coffee every single day. Ive been to the actual coffee shop a couple of times, and I love the atmosphere there. Everyones working hard but friendly enough to offer a smile (or share their table if you need a workspace). Their drinks are pretty affordable, and plain dark roast (my go-to) is delicious. The porch is adorable, too, and a great place to spend a fall morning. Wouldnt have had to do it if I had not felt run around by your employee at a public setting in the first place when I was just seeking help with the internet as a customer. She did not give me any effort at all to help. Instead she was telling me what to do without really listening to me and then adding a couple times in between that oh it is working on our side by fully ignoring me.Also, it is common sense to not run people around by saying OK and being dismissive of their requests/needs - that should not require additional staff training.It was the second person I talked to who was helpful and I appreciated it. I dont need to take this any further. It is not worth my time. I have enjoyed Hopscotch so far and want to remember it that way.

Very good coffee!

My husband got a drip coffee which he liked. I expected more for my $4 cup of hot chocolate. It was the prettiest cup Ive every had, however it tasted of powdered cocoa and needed more sweetness. McDonalds hot chocolate is much better. Thats sad to say.

Thai iced coffee is excellent here. Overall, the coffee is terrific! Unfortunately had a regrettable experience regarding the loyalty card, and I was informed it only gets stamped on espresso drinks. I was snarkilly explained that the profit margin isn’t high enough to justify giving me a stamp for non espresso drinks. I think $4.50 for the iced Thai coffee is plenty expensive enough to warrant a stamp, but I suppose I’m in the minority.Edited, so I can respond: first off, I appreciate your response. I’ve thought about it and I’m sticking with my assessment. However, if you decide to change this policy, I’ll happily come back. Your coffee is excellent.

Simply the best! My husband and I had our first date here years ago, and we still have a weekly date here! Whenever we travel, we realize how good we have it with the quality of coffee so close by. Cant be beat!

The drinks are good, the pastries are tasty, and it’s nice to sit outside overlooking the B Line on a nice day. I buy their beans for home and they tend to be very fresh. I’ve also had good luck with staff recommendations of beans I might like.

Hopscotch is my favorite coffee shop!! 10/10 Would recommend you come and check it out! My favorite drink is the Golden Milk Latte (with the espresso, it has turmeric in it!) Their Pour overs are divine and I recommend you buy some of their coffee!

First time there. Wildly unimpressed. My SO couldnt even finish her coffee. She had a caramel latte and it tasted like warm butter melted in water.

Im in town for a quick visit and meant to stop here for ages (it was just being built as I was moving away) and finally have!I have been craving lavender latte since last March when I tried it out in Seattle. It was common there but not so much here. Love that they DO have this year and its so velvety smooth. The coffee itself is a perfect base.Glad I finally made it in! Have been into hopscotch three times over the course of two years. I just dont feel welcome. I cannot put my finger on it but there is something about the vibe from the time I open the door to my completed order...Maybe Ive aged out as a 50 something? Regardless, less than an inclusive feeling up front. As far as coffee or tea from hopscotch: Excellent.Response to owner: Every day we welcome and serve all ages and types of people. I agree with the serve, part, its the welcome experience that needs closer observation. Observe how it goes for customers throughout the front counter process. That would be one specific way in finding what I have written about. Hope that method can be useful. Maybe if the experience improves e.g, I feel welcomed, I can up my visits per year. Feeling welcome in any environment is part of revisiting, right?

Usually very traditional hot coffee bar menu, and teas too! Great space to work in, beautiful patio in summer/spring/fall (even in rain since it’s covered 🤗)

I dont like strong bitter coffee. Folks here add shot of hot water to weaken coffee just enough how I like it. Hubby & I are 65 yrs old & despite shop being popular w/college students we enjoy going by. Welcomed with a big smile, a happy hello and treated very respectfully. Were never rushed through our order & my coffee is always made exactly the way I like it. Cant say the same for Starbucks or any other coffee shop in town. We like to support local small businesses. There are enough Amazons and Starbucks in the world. Great coffee shop. ☕🍵🖒🖒

The coffee and bakery was great! But to be honest the seating arrangement doesnt make me feel like a coffee shop. I thought cafe usually puts the comfy seats on the sides or in the corner, so people can sit and pass their time with friends or themselves. Here the seats are mostly wooden and the sofa are very close to the entrance.

Just off the B-line, this cute little shop is reminiscent of a station one would find off the Monon railroad that the B-line trail now runs through. They take great pride in the service they provide, perhaps the best in town, they really do care. I am delighted to have Hopscotch Coffee in my town!

I absolutely love this place. Theyre served by my kind of people and have amazing coffee. The music is quiet but loud enough to hear. Great place to study or have quiet conversation.

A little Too Noisy For My taste, but still really nice. The only problem weve ever had is when we were buying dark Roast beans, for a while they were too wet and didnt grind like they should have. Still recommend! People are great. And they have a great product!

Peaceful atmosphere first thing in the morning. Staff is great and the coffee/pastries are the best! I come in to the shop after a long shift at work so it’s nice to walk into a relaxed setting, not too bright and low key staff.

Hopscotch has some of the best coffee in Bloomington. I always like to bring a bag home for my mom who is an avid coffee drinker! I really like this location on the B-line; the interior is cute and the outdoor seating is wonderful during sunnier days. The staff is really pleasant and my latte with salted caramel syrup was excellent. I also like the variety of pastries and snacks from other local businesses that they have available. Definitely recommend! And if the B-line location is a little too out of the way, the smaller location on Madison is just as good!

The atmosphere is nice, but the drinks are ridiculously expensive for what they are. There’s no easily accessible parking, and the best way to get there is by walking on the b-line. Regular iced coffee is 80% ice and flavorless coffee that makes you think you’re drinking some sort of tea. They charged us an extra dollar just for the vanilla flavoring. Will not be returning.

The staff are amazing and knowledgeable about their job and the variety of ways to make coffee. The atmosphere is casual and outdoor seating is available. Ive never had a bad experience and enjoy going to Hopscotch.

They make wonderful cold brew as well as nitro cold brew. The employees are great and they appreciate conscientious regulars. They are usually less busy before 9 a.m. so it is an excellent place to stop for morning coffee if you dont want to sit in the massive lines at a Starbucks.

Hopscotch is a lovely local place with the best coffee and espresso in town. Now they serve beer and are open late. Hoorah!One note: if you like sweet lattes, be aware that the lavender syrup is really strong.

Throughout my time at IU I continue to always go back to Hopscotch. Not only do they serve the BEST cold brew in Bloomington, the staff is /always/ kind and friendly, it’s always clean, it’s never TOO busy to find a place to sit. Definitely a safe place that I escape to when the rest of the world is too chaotic.

Excellent service and drip brew coffee. The barista (I believe Kristen) was extremely nice and when asked for a recommendation, she happily replied with her recommendation of the light roast. I will be returning, both for the service and for how delicious the roast was!

I moved to Bloomington in the fall of 2015 and happened upon Hopscotch my first full day in town. I was accustomed to high quality coffee through my travels and own personal endeavors, and had hoped that the sleek, artistic facade of Hopscotch would contribute to an equally polished cup of coffee. This was not the case. I have frequented this store since my arrival, and time after time the coffee is only alright. Having given this shop multiple opportunities to wow me, my final verdict is in.The pour overs are almost always under-extracted.The espresso for lattes is almost always over extracted and bitter.This shops saving grace is that the drip is inexpensive and alright.If they have a single origin espresso available, give it a shot (I certainly was impressed). Otherwise, dont expect specialty coffee quality like you would find in Columbus (OH), Nashville (TN), or Denver (CO) from this shop.

I truly loved coffee at Hopscotch. Used to go there about four days a week. I frequently bought coffee beans from there to use my espresso machine in case I cannot stop by there. However, I dont go there anymore because of the unfriendly and rude staff (the female staff that has green hairs). One time, she stared at me for a while without asking me how she could help. That was very unpleasant. So, I had to ask can I have one Americano? Her response was just $2.97 without any smiles on her face. She kept staring at me. She did not even ask whether I needed receipt or not. Once I removed my card from the card reader, she disappeared and didnt make a coffee for me. I waited for a while, standing in front of the coffee machine. I had to ask another staff working there when I could get the coffee. Ive talked about this to a couple of my friends. And surprisingly, another friend told me she had the similar uncomfortable experiences with her. I strongly believe that the owner should seriously consider staff training in order to grow as more friendly local coffee shop. Otherwise, the coffee shop will lose its regular customers like me.

These guys are great at being just pretentious enough for you to question your choice of going here, without being so conceded as to completely alienate. A fine line most independent coffee houses are required to walk these days. Everything was quite satisfying, not leaving one to long for more, either in taste or wallet.

We went here for some cool and refreshing drinks. We ordered strawberry shrubs — which were supposed to be soda made with real fruit.We both disliked it, and my friend couldn’t even drink it due to the sourness. It tasted fermented, but overpoweringly, like kombucha. If we’d ordered kombucha, which we would never do, then we might have liked it.She had a rose beer off tap instead, which was “meh”.Normally, I do enjoy their coffee drinks, but I would avoid their soda/fermented beverages.

I mean I always just get water when I go there after bike ride with the boys. Coffee in general makes me utterly and violently ill so i dont drink it but the boys seem to like it so its prolly good.

I ordered a cappuccino to taste the bean and pull ability if the Batista along with the milk age and temp. My first drink was mediocre but subsequent tasting was good. Beautiful drink, slightly scalded milk, finally a decent place for coffee in Bloomington?

The coffee is dreadful and always burned but I still go anyway because its such a gorgeous establishment in the best possible location. The outdoor seating overlooks the B-Line and the indoor seating is plentiful and comfortable. There is a nice amount of parking too.

I love coffee and have made it a point to seek out the good stuff wherever I am in the world. Hopscotch Coffee in wee Bloomington, IN is up there with the best of the best of them. They know their stuff but aren’t too geeky with it. They are the best antidote to Starbucks—for those who like the taste of robust, flavorful coffee rather than pedestrian, over roasted coffee swamped by tons of sugar and milk to hide the bitterness of the beans.The café itself has lots of interesting drinks and noshies, and a relaxing ambiance—even when it’s lousy with students glued to their laptops. 😎
