Terrible experience at this bakery. The food does not taste good, made with low quality ingredients. There is only a small selection of cookies and cakes. The coffee tastes like old residues diluted in large quantities of water. The place itself is relatively well decorated but they don’t give you sugar/napkins/cutlery. Staff was kind, but the service extremely poor.
Great Customer service & the employees are friendly & treats customers with respect. And The desserts are really good. Thank You for Great Customer Service
Located near the library and park with easy parking! I love to drop in for mocha and dessert. Try their chocolate mousse cup!! Dark, velvety, decadent.
Ive been getting a Vienna Torte for my birthday ever since I went to a grad party that served it. So sad to see the bakery shutting their doors.
Cakes are great and their buttercream is to die for. Their lunch offerings are great quality and value. In particular, if you want a quick snack but dont want to go to the hotel restaurant for a sit down this is the place to go. Their bisques are amazing.
You have to do your best to control yourself from buying out the place. High quality and quite tasty pastries and desserts.
Great friendly service and fresh tasty baked goods here!
Delicious European baked goods. High quality. Relatively high prices. Best variety during the early store hours.
The best Bavarian cream cake I have ever tasted. The fruit is fresh but not overbearing.
I recently purchased Townsend Bakerys renowned Bavarian Cream Cake, for my wifes December birthday. Based on all of the many great reviews its received, our expectations were high. As instructed by the TB staff, we sliced it after allowing it to sit approximately 1-2 hours at room temperature. Sadly enough, both my wife and her birthday guests who sampled the cake, were shockingly disappointed. Agreed, its decorative presentation was supremely inviting, but its overall taste, texture and flavor were unbearably dissatisfying, unsavory and inconsistent...simply nasty ! Overall, the cake was excessively dry and lacked the true, natural Bavarian Cream flavor. We suspect it was overpowered by the distinctly noticeable cooking oil (Crisco) flavor, which was present in each slice. Conversely, the Townsend Bakery staff was very patient, courteous and professional, which slightly lessens our disappointment. Who are the pastry chefs at Townsends ? Fortunately, there are a host of other noteworthy Metro-Detroit bakeries, who actually do sell a Bavarian Cream Cake worthy of their $50+ price.
They have the best white chocolate strawberry cake I get one every year
Super nice staff. Jen helped with my sons baptism cake. It was pretty and of course so tasty!!
Love this bakery. Ive been a customer for over 20 years.
This bakery proclaims its old world European influence, but its anything but that. This is a pure American joint that may offer eye-pleasing wares, but taste wise they completely miss the mark.
The best buttercream cakes ever
This bakery is on point. I think some people cannot be satisfied no matter what.
Open till 2pm..
