Marcus is an all around awesome guy. He let us set up a tent to try it out and gave us a great price. It was a pleasure talking to him and playing with his pup. Definitely stopping in next time were in Bend.
Ive been going to the gear peddler since they opened Mike and crew run a great shop with labor for bike tune-ups ski tune-up snowboard and just about anything else you bring in there they know where to point you if they cant help you out. Always great prices
Always fair prices and constantly changing variety of sports gear. I enjoy browsing whenever I am near the store. Their in-house bike repair insures good function to used bicycles (and the quality is much higher than thrift stores).
Great service the few employees I have met are easy to talk to and makes it easy to ask a question without the fear of being judged which makes it comfortable.Plus being able to haggle with some used parts is always nice, sometimes you find a gem and get it for much much cheaper. Definitely suggest going too.
Great selection of gear. Bike shoes, ski boots, bikes and more activities than I know about.
Went in looking for a nice commuting bike, the person helping me went through all the options that were best for what I was looking for. Set me up with a wonderful bike at a great price, and gave me a genuine assessment of its condition and how to maintain it. Incredible customer service, cannot recommend enough
Nice staff. Small town feel.
Honest with top notch service. They said they were about a week out on my bike but if I dropped it off early they could possibly get to it sooner. Dropped it off early and two days later I got a phone call saying it was ready and the bill was lower that what they quoted me saying it didnt take them as long as they expected. Most shops would have still charged what the quoted price was and I as a consumer wouldnt have known any better. What an amazing and honest shop.
The friendliest guys in the business. And 1 gal. Hahaha. Theyve taken great care of me and consigning a lot of items and Ive purchased great things here.
Unique collection of various outdoor gear. A lot of bikes and skis.
Ive been to a few around town and they are the best. Thanks for taking care of my bikes at a very reasonable price! I will definitely be a returning customer. Keep in mind, its low key chill place there, so be patient.
Highly recommend for the people, the gear, and the prices. The staff went above and beyond to get us set up with cross country ski gear, explaining everything and taking lots of time to help us. Go here.
Great selection of used outdoor gear and knowledgeable staff. Always good to have people who know about all the stuff in their shop. Good repair shop that can fix a large array of outdoor equipment.
Took an item in to put on consignment, they were very friendly and helpful. Store was very well stocked. They have an amazing variety of product.
Great prices. Good selection. Friendly people. Very helpful.
This is my favorite shop in town. Super knowledgeable staff, friendly, and timely. They have better rates on consignment for items you sell, and don’t sell them at retail prices like the gear fix. Highly recommended place!
I wish these types of stores were everywhere!! Its like having a giant inventory of quality gear. You can come in and swap out your gear, get repairs done, sell your gear, buy gear, rent gear and place special orders. Awesome! Keep up the quality work guys!
Perfect for what we needed. New skis and poles for my nephew. Reasonably priced.
Got a killer GT mountain bike from them 2 years ago for a great deal, and today I went in because I thought I needed a new road bike. Turns out I just needed to get a part swapped and now it fits and rides wonderfully again! Knowledgeable and friendly staff with great prices. Highly recommend.
Friendly service, always helpful and has good prices if the got what you need. Best place for bike parts and random little parts you might need
They didnt have what we needed (specific size of child Nordic ski), but the staff and dog were very friendly and helpful.
I had an amazing experience here. I came in looking for a fix for a tag along adapter. They didnt have the part I needed, but also didnt send me away like the previous shop I went to. They came up with a creative solution to fix my adapter and helped with some other parts. They were also great with my five year old.
The people here at gear Peddler almost definitely family. Theres been times Ive walked in with a dollar or less in there more than happy to help me get my bike back on the road and then getting what I got to get done. My hat is off to the good people of our community
We recently purchased 2 new trail bicycles there, we were pleased with the knowledge and friendly service. The two guys helped my husband get the right size of frame and they made sure I found a good bike with upgraded shocks and weighed less than the frame I had thought was the right one. Even gave us 10% off helmets and bike accessories for buying 2 new bikes. They are excellent!
Jewel of Central Oregon for the outdoor enthusiast! This little shop has it all, full services bike shop, knowledgeable & friendly staff, boats, skis, new, used, and consignment.
The staff here went above and beyond to set me up with a solid set of wheels for my recently purchased, used road bike. Im new to the game - and they walked me through what I should be looking for in a wheelset, along with tire recommendations for Central Oregon conditions. I also appreciated that they were willing to install a compatible cassette for no additional charge. The Gear Peddler folks know their stuff, and relative to building a wheelset at other shops in town I spoke with, I figure I saved 3x what I could have paid elsewhere.
Good parts come and go, i check the shop every month and find some serious treasures. just picked up a fox float 32 fork for less than $100!awesome store, check it out!
There prices are pretty high for some beat used gear and when I tried to schedule a bike tune an old guy answered the phone and said it was first come first serve which seemed weird to me but I went with it and got there as soon as they opened and they acted like I was stupid for not having an appointment then an old guy came out from the back and said its first come first serve to make appointments F me right? The only reason this isnt a 1 star review is the prices on the bikes seem fair most of the time. I recommend checking out gear fix first then going to this place if they dont have it.
Nice guys! Had what I needed.. a used part for my bike, but it still works and the price was decent.
This was are first time in Gear Peddlers and Mike helped us termisdtly with buying a bike for are son 👍👍They have alot to check out, definitely take the time to go there. Amazing store!!
These guys know bicycles
These guys are awesome. Super helpful and solid deals.
Great service and some very honest and helpful staff. I appreciate the help and the vibe, thank you
Staying in Bend for 3 months and got a used bike from them + plus accessories + skis and boots. Bike had some problems... took a few visits to get it all sorted out but running like a charm now and all work done for free! Staff is very helpful and responsive and they have a good selection of reasonably priced used bikes and snowsports equipment. I visited Hutchs and Repeat Performance but couldnt find any reasonably priced used bikes. Would recommend checking this place out.
They always seem to have what Im looking for. Really cool staff. The repair shop does great work. They fixed my front tire for much less than some of the other guys in town.
Very nice folks and great service, I love stores like these with odds and ends for cheap. Put my crash pad up for consignment for the local climbers to bag a cheap deal.Seems to be a bad review about customer service... probably because the reviewer doesnt understand these people love their job, and dont work at a Dennys. This store does a service recycling gear, and if it breaks after you buy it, learn to fix it rather than complain.
A great place to go for new and used gear. And they often have some of the older more unique equipment for replacement.
Great place! Friendly staff and they got my bike fixed and tuned up really fast.
Great service and prices! They solved the mystery of my multiple (3) flat tires (wire bristle in the tire we didnt see) and threw in a new tube and pumped it up. Finally rolling again without walking home! Thank you
Great selection of gear for men and women. Unfortunately I was looking for snowshoes and they had 1 pair which was not a popular brand like MSR or Atlas. Seemed to have a large selection of ski gear.
Never met a 5 starnised gear shop but the gear pedler is solid shop. Good mix of gear the is in great to acceptable shape. Knowlegable employees that are helpful.
Lots of cool display bikes...got a good deal on a set of handlebars.
Awesome shop! Cool people and friendly service. They always have the vintage tires and tubes I need for my projects at home.
Its just nice to have a less expensive alternative to hutches!
Customer service is excellent very helpful we will be back in October thank you so much newcomer love love
Nonexistent service and awful pricing. My brother and I walked in thinking we could score a decent deal on a used bike, but all we found were overpriced brand new bikes or overpriced vintage road bikes with rusted frames, torn bar tape (at least replace the tape!), and cracking tires (certainly not worth the $250+ price tags). They seem to have a decent selection of other sporting related stuff (I was really only there for the bikes) but we were in there looking around for five minutes and the guy at the counter didnt acknowledge us once. If youre thinking of going here, check out all the other awful reviews of this place and save your time.
Did bike repairs: job well-done, fair price.
Second hand gear at great prices.
Just like many of the reviews here state, TERRIBLE customer service. So many great outdoor gear shops in Bend, dont waste your time by stopping in here. Never been treated so badly by so called experts.
Any sporty outfit and all outwear available here for great prices!
Great gear at great prices with friendly staff, I love it here!
I have had nothing but an awesome experience here, so much so that i am actually sitting here taking the time to give a good review to those who have earned it. I walked in with three broken bikes and talked the mechanics ear off forever. He remained helpful and kind despite me asking him a trillion questions. Its rare to find that patience in the bike industry if you know what i mean. He proceeded to help fix the bikes with what he had there free of charge (not huge issues). I spent a lot of time there being your typical asky customer, and the staff couldnt have been nicer or more helpful. I am a serious bicycle commuter, and I support this place 110%.
Bought skis and seperate boots no combo deal givin. Needed front binding on skis remounted to fit purchased boots and they recommended we take it to a shop (10 min drill job). Reccomed other consignment sports shop in town
Good used gear spot. They will negotiate
Glad they are so helpful
Knowledgeable and helpful people that will get your adventures going.
Quality used gear for your fave outdoor adventures
Good place to buy second-hand/ used gear. Friendly customer service.
Mike was super helpful answering questions about a consigned bike for me. Dont mind the negative reviews from people expecting department store prices.
Great place. Pretty spendy but good.
HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! BUYER BEWARE! Have been to this store quite a few times before but will never be going back again after our horrible experience. My Fiance was looking for a mountain bike and finally found one in the shop for $1,300. They said they looked it over and was a med-level bike (it was a KHS carbon fiber full suspension mountain bike). They guy selling it said it was a great bike but nothing for going off 6 feet or more table tops or drops which was totally fine. We took it the next day out to Phils and was riding BENS (this is an easy trail!!) after riding for about 45 minutes my fiance rode hard up a steep hill and the frame of the bike totally snapped and broke and he crashed. We took it back to the shop right away and told them what happened. The bike mechanic working actually had some customer service and told us it was a unique situation and we would get something worked out after he talked to the owner and he would call the bike manufacturer and see if they could send a new frame. The next day the owner called and said they would do nothing because there were scratches on the bike and he had to take it off of something crazy (NO!) and the way he was talking when he was buying it he probably hit a 6 foot jump (the owner wasnt even present when he bought it & thats what the mechanic told him not todo). Plus it was our first time going out riding for the year and were not doing anything crazy or remotely that big. She (the owner) proceeded to yell at my fiance and told him the mechanic would not be doing anything to help. I get its a consignment shop but $1,300 is a lot of money to us and the bike totally broke in less than 1 hour of riding it and its a pretty unique situation when it most likely already had a crack in it. Not only did she basically call him a liar but was extremely rude and didnt have a minuscule of costumer service for the situation. If I could give 0 stars I would.
They put me on a great consignment bike at a very good price, were very helpful in answering questions.
Gear Peddler rips off my 12-year-old son.My son recently bought a used bike from Gear Peddler in Bend and it fell apart within two weeks. Before we made the purchase we asked if the bike had been gone through and they stated the bike had been checked. We also asked “What if there is a problem after we purchase the bike?” and they responded that they would “take care of us.” When we brought the bike back because the crank was falling off (we already had to replace the handle grips) they refused to take the bike back and their idea of “taking care of us” was to pay them to fix it. I explained to them my son bought the bike with his own money and the manager was unapologetic and made comments like “what if you bought the bike on Craigslist?” I told him I was going to give him a bad review online and he said “he didn’t really care, it happens all of the time…. we have plenty of customers.” Absolutely no care about customer service. Avoid this place like the plague; I am sure there are other small companies in Bend that will give you the service you deserve. Obviously Craigslist is a better bet! Unfortunately my son got a lesson of “let the buyer beware.”
Cadence and torque
Great deals, good people...
Great prices on alpine ski gear
Horrible service. Expensive products. And ever longer wait times to fix your bike. That is, if they can fix it...
Good people, Good Rental place.
Good selection, lovely people.
Friendly & knowledgeable staff.
Prices were high, and they didnt seem all that interested in helping me track down kids stuff. oh well.
Excellent customer service
Always great
Terrible customer service. Go look at the ratings on yelp
Professional people running it with plenty of gear to look at.
Great customer service
If you need it, theyll have it
Were awesome
