Food was good, service was not, was asked to move to accommodate a large party..not a problem....but then waited 30 minutes for food when restaurant was not half full. No coffee offered after first cup or water refills....thankful for the other server who was on top of it as well as the bus help. Probably wont be back to that location. Downtown location is amazing all the way around.
Super quick and super delicious! They have a great system set up for ordering takeaway and you can see the precautions they are taking. I ordered and sat in my car, waiting about 10 min and they brought it out to my window! The monte cristo crepe I received was hearty and delicious. Absolutely fat with egg, and the jam was that perfect touch of sweetness. They may be known for their eggs benny, but their other foods are slamming’ as well.
UPDATE from 10/7 and 10/9/2021 We ate lunch here on the 7th and breakfast on the 9th and we are SO HAPPY to be able to bring our vax cards and eat indoors at Mount Bakery Fairhaven (the downtown location is outdoor-only). We and our companions had the crepos rancheros, portobello sandwich (on their awesome foccacia!), quiche, BLAT, large salad, breakfast sandwich, Monte Cristo crepe, London Fog with soy milk, and more. We were super happy with all our selections, and we appreciate having good vegetarian options not only for breakfast but also for lunch. For fall and winter we expect the Fairhaven location to be our regular spot for meals, but in general both locations are excellent. (Side note that the Fairhaven location has two gender-neutral restrooms.)ORIGINAL review from Dec 2020. We bought only pastries, cookies, and coffee at this location (kitchen was temporarily closed due to the new more rigorous covid rules). Pastries were awesome as usual, and the coffee was excellent (and thats really saying something because Im picky about my coffee!). Staff were super friendly and efficient.
Awesome food!!! Super friendly staff despite how busy they get. Also mostly all the servers wear really unique and beautiful earrings. Plus I like how they have coffee while you wait and they leave wine bottles of water at your table. (I drink a lot of water)They do VERY WELL with food allergies and restrictions.
Welcoming bakery and diner, spacious seating, comfortable benches. Had an apple, pear and Gouda crepe, and it was delightful. Coffee was always topped off, and the staff was very friendly. Great spot for afternoon breakfast and coffee. Skip the kids menu and get them a waffle. My daughter enjoyed the roasted pears waffle.
The staff is very kind, but the pastries were.. okay. I havent tried their full menu before, so I will certainly need to do that. It was not bad, and I would consider coming back! I appreciate how hard smaller businesses have been working recently, so hopefully my future experiences will be more positive and I can tack another star on there. Keep up the good work, Im glad yall are still around!
French bakery and cafe serving croissants, crepes, waffles and sandwiches. Some of my faves include: Portabello Benedict on a savory waffle with red potatoes on the side, a BLAST on whole wheat toast (sub a veggie patty for the bacon and give the egg to my hubby), and the Belgian Waffle with fresh fruit drizzled with chocolate and lots of whip cream. The best offering I get every time is the Moliere, a French style mocha made with rich, chocolate ganache, extra hot, sub soy milk with the whip cream on the side (this keeps it hot longer).
Service was really slow despite it not being overwhelmingly busy. Food was okay. Drinks were alright, not worth the price though. Theres SO many breakfast places in the area and although this one isnt the worst, theres plently other places with superior taste.
Rude staff. Not recommended
Delicious food and is it so hard for other restaurants to serve organic coffee? I dont know, but mount bakery has it.
Welcome to flavor country! I had the turkey/cheese croissant and my Wife had the apple/pear crepe. Both were excellent! Looking forward to coming back for inside dining!
Good breakfast choices. Not into the flakey cinnamon role but food was good!
I really love this place, food is great but the customer service sometimes is quite off-putting. Quite disappointed in the service today.
We got 2 breakfast sandwiches to take out.Food was ready quickly and they even took it out to our car. How nice! 🙂Their bread is amazing and they even lightly toast it for the sandwich. Top notch breakfast sandwiches. Will come again.
So good and filling! I got the Blackstone Benedict with focaccia and a coffee. I ordered the poached eggs soft but the yolks were set when I ate it. It might be because they sat for a little while before eating so I wont fault the restaurant for that.
Bland bland bland. Had the original benedict. Thought it sounded great with the waffle! Really disappointed because there was no flavor in the waffle at all. The hollandaise sauce was bland and the potatoes were the only decent part (they had been sprinkled/tossed with something somewhat flavorful). A waste of $17.
Have been here many times! Love the eggs benedict, and, biscuits and gravy!!! Yesterday, I tried the waffles with the days special compote and it was delicious! I think the compote consisted of cinnamon, apple, peaches, and blackberries? V delicious!!!I forgot to take a picture before, so here is a pic of afterwards!
Great selection of pastries, all lined up in the window so you can see for take out.
Great breakfast...Great location...Friendly staff
Super food and service
Service was snotty, food was meh. Very disappointed.
Great service and cozy atmosphere! Our food was the only issue. While my plate was great, my partner had very undercooked potatoes. We even compared to my own and we could tell the difference. Otherwise we had a good time.
Bought a croissants that was obviously a day old/stale at full price. Found hair baked into it, which is really gross.
This is my go-to spot when I join friends for brunch in Fairhaven, and I highly recommend it.Great food, friendly attentive staff and casual ambience. The prices are maybe a little bit on the higher side - but they are reasonable considering good portion sizes, the cost of rent in Fairhaven, and the fact that they keep the place well-staffed.*The eggs benedict and soups of the day are my favorite menu items. Also the pastries are fantastic.*Initially I made this a 4 star review based on prices, but honestly, I think the prices are fair and the staff are well taken care of. I am happy to pay a fair price to support a business that sources quality ingredients and provides for its staff. That shouldnt cost a star, hence the ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Excellent breakfast as usual. Great job with the covid protocols, everything felt safe.
I cant get over how much this bakery cares about their community, PLUS ALSO GREAT CROISSANTS. Thanks for fundraising for wildfire victims!
Excellent non-meat options for vegetarians, good size portions, and friendly staff. Great coffee. Mount Bakery was recommended by our Airbnb host, and for good reason!
This is a cute happening cafe. The interior is amazingly well put together considering its a relatively small space in a strip mall setting ( in Fairhaven however). We went into breakfast explaining were a party of 10,. There are no reservations, they requested a member if the party arrive early,we did, they accommodated us very well. The staff is efficient and very willing to help. The food is awesome and is generous with portions. I definitely reccomend this place and I will go back. Please remember large parties can overwhelm them,be considerate and the experience will be the most enjoyable for everyone concerned.
Overall a very good experience! The food was fast but so good. And the service was very consistent and made the whole time enjoyable. I never had to do the awkward look around for the waiter. Definitely love seeing CARNE MEAT being served as well. The sausage was on point.
Great cinnamon rolls and service!
If a place had to take over the old Trek spot, Im glad it was the Mt Bakery. Local and delicious. The coffee is always tasty and I love their waffles. Great location and I like what theyve done with the space. Its bright and open just like their downtown spot. Definitely been our go-to for going out to breakfast lately. Nice to have another amazing restaurant on the south side.
This place is a local Bellingham staple. If are a tourist in Fairhaven, hit the one there! Heading downtown? Go there. Eggs Benedict, baked goods, waffles...the list goes on. This is a great place for breakfast or a relaxing cup of coffee. Locally owned by people who love their community and always a great dining experience. The vibe is great too!
Nice breakfast joint - try the crepes, sweet, savory or a bit of both!
The waitress was very kind to us, however, we got the eggs Benedict that my boyfriend said was usually his favorite and it did not turn out well. The potatoes were really undercooked and the Belgian waffle wasn’t very good either and so dry. Afterwards, we felt sick all day and I’m pretty sure it was food poisoning. Disappointing as this was my first time here...
The waffles are off the charts👌
Our Fairhaven breakfast joint! Great food with lots of locally sourced ingredients. Always tempting specials and pastries. Nice atmosphere with friendly service.
Had the original Benny on focaccia...just delicious!! The potatoes were seasoned perfectly, and the hollandaise sauce was so creamy and flavorful. Friendly service and didn’t have to wait long. The hot chocolate is clearly not made with a syrup and tastes rich and yummy. Will be back!
I always enjoy coming here - the staff are friendly and helpful, the portions are never too little or too much, and they really do put a lot of effort into making sure the meal you get is a quality one. Weekend mornings are a bit on the busy side but waits are rarely more than ten minutes. Highly recommended!
Really good food. Was almost turned away from view from the street, but read good reviews. Took a chance. Food and service is amazing. Greatly exceeded my expectations.
The service was excelent, but the food was ok. The menu had a nice selection and plenty of vegetarian options. I had an eggs Benedict for breakfast and they plated the egg and waffle (instead of using an English muffin they used a waffle which was a good idea!) on top of the potatoes which made it a little tricky to eat. I would try this place again. Their pastries looked great and the coffee was delicious.
Their food is amazing and customer service is top notch! I didnt know that they closed at 3:30 and I had a cake to pick up but wouldnt be able to make it till after i got off work and they were willing enough to wait around for me to come pick up the cake! How Wonderful! Thanks for saving my day!
Amazing food, kind staff, and a beautiful view of the bay. Took my family that was visiting from out of town here and they loved it.
My favorite breakfast spot in Fairhaven. Not just your plain Jane breakfast menu. Intriguing choices of crepes, omelettes and quiches. And pastries .... the best. Friendly staff and management.
Wonderful place to stop in for coffee, breakfast, or lunch. Or just grab treats fresh from the bakery and go. Its in a quirky building but once youre inside, the dining area is comfortable and spacious.
Awesome food, friendly staff! The Blackstone Benedict was so good there wasnt a crumb left on my plate! Definitely recommend!
Great coffee and variations of eggs Benedict. Friendly, attentive and professional service.
I had perhaps the best eggs Benedict of my life here. It was a huge, rich portion and I was really full after eating it all, yet I still wanted to eat my friends that they didnt finish because it was so delicious
Really delicious cinnamon rolls and a lot of variety of pastries. Service is very friendly and place was packed after only being open 30 minutes. Will definitely be back again!
Beautiful pastries. Nice people. Outstanding breakfast.
Monte Cristo sandwich isn’t at all what it’s supposed to be. Not fried, no preserves. Disappointment.
Try the best bennys egg Benedict its frikn BOMB
Great food and great service.
I love marionberry oat scones. Please never stop making marionberry oat scones. Thank you -Augie
I think this is a quality bakery. A while back I fell in love with their cinnamon roll and ever since have been trying to get another. The problem is I show up just after 1030 every Sunday morning after a class and every Sunday morning they are out. I have twice brought this up to the front staff and twice they inform me the rolls are only a one day item and they would have to throw them out. First off they only lose half the retail value as they sell day old pastries at half off and EVERY Sunday they are packed with people waiting to be seated and as of 1030 will be open for 5 more hours. The best bakery in town should plan to NOT run out of product half way through every one of their busiest days of the week....every week. I will just have to find my pastries somewhere else. they get three stars because they had me chasing after them for a while.
Delicious for breakfast or lunch. Hand made pastries, local coffee and tea, friendly service. It gets busy on weekends
We waited for over 50 minutes when we came in at 11 10. By the time we got in to be seated it was 12 or so, ordered we waited another 50 minutes and it was 1:05 PM by that time. I wish that the waiter would just come up and let us know how much longer it would be or stop by once in awhile to reasure . Our drinks were written off but we were told that it was just the busiest time . If we were reassured by waiting staff, i think I would have been more patient. Just disappointed. Will go back to Champion Street.
Delicious food and great service. Doesn’t look like much from the outside but don’t be fooled. Lucky find for us!
Delicious food, super nice staff and a cozy ambience. The pastries are outta this world!
Really good Eggs Benedict and you can even substitute in a decent quality gluten free bread in place of their waffle for my folks who cant have gluten.
Wow! I read the reviews and had to try this place for myself. We both ordered the bennies and everything was cooked to perfection. Customer service was quick and friendly. The only drawback is the restaurant can get a bit loud during peak times. Next time well have to try their baked goods!
Great food. Neat place. Friendly staff.
Only been here once but we had exceptional service and our breakfast was great. Try this place for sure.
Great breakfasts....particularly their eggs Benedict....also great baked goods.
You need to eat their food. The food is amazing, delicious, perfect and will leave you feeling happy, full, but still craving more. Just do yourself a favor and eat here.
First time there. The food I had was great. I plan to go back again many times.
Wonderful staff friendly atmosphere and food is delightful.
Good food, good service! Definitely worth a return visit.
A classic brunch spot. Benedict or bust. Easy to overdo it in the bottomless coffee
The apple smoked bacon bennie was fantastic.
Super yummy Eggs Benedict and friendly service!!
Good food, friendly service, good prices
They just recently expanded their Fairhaven satelite bakery to a full service kitchen. They are still working out some of the kinds but I expect some great food will come out of the kitchen. They make some of the best scones in all of Washington.
A wonderful place for a delicious and healthy bite to eat. Friendly and attentive staff
Best cafe in bellingham.Locally sourced, organic foodThe chicken pesto sandwich is where it is at
This bakery is advertised as making the best cinnamon rolls in Whatcom County. Bought three today and they are not good.In the three cinnamon rolls we just found three, yes just three, raisens and there was even less cinnamon. The dough tastes like a stale cressants we cut hardly cut with a knife.Very disappointing. On the brighter side they do make good cookies but someone who claims to be the best at cinnamon rolls certainly should stop saying that.DavidAfter hearing back from Vince at Mount Bakery it seems if you say anything bad about their place they tell you to go _____yourself. Nice touch Vince. You should have said you were sorry for our bad experience and that you hoped we would give you another chance, which we most likely would have but not now. Your pompous and arrogant response is not going to change the quality of your cinnamon roll and sadly only lowers my expectation of whatever else you may have to say.David
Speedy service, a warm environment, and the GREATEST crepes I have ever had. I couldnt possible recommend this place enough
Wonderful selection of quality food (brunch) and friendly service. Will definitely be back!
The food is fabulous and I love the fact that you can get a salad with your Breakfast Crepe
Excellent and tasty breakfast. Curtious staff.
A buddy brought me treats from your bakery this morning. You burnt the scones and pastries today. What gives? Oven too hot? Left them in too long? Not your usual quality.
Ive never had a bad experience here. Great food, great people.
Delectable breakfast in a cute spot. Had the Marionberry scone with jam. Crispy and flaky outside but soft fluffy inside. Then the Crepos Rancheros -definitely add avacado, sets it off! I also had one of the best iced lattes of my life, so creamy and delicious! I recommend if you want a breakfast/brunch to rave about!
The Mt. Bakery cinnamon rolls are like nothing Ive ever had before! They are flaky and oozing with flavor.
