Been here a few times, great food and great service, I love this place
First time visit and will absolutely go back. Very fresh food and coffee with vegetarian options. Very FairhavenLoved it
Their sandwhiches are good but they just take a long time to make their food. waited over 30 mins for a sandwhich. not worth the money and time. downtown location is way better
The sandwiches are actually pretty good if you don’t mind the $$ and the wait. But yeah, the service at the Fairhaven location is soooooo slooooow. I always have to wait 20-30 minutes for a plain ham cheese and lettuce sandwich that costs $13. If I’m in a pinch for lunch I’ll swing by, but then I hardly have time to eat it before my break is over. I usually regret going to Avenue if I’m in any kind of hurry.
I went in looking pastries or sweet bread but they mostly had ice cream. The few non ice cream items didnt look very fresh.
I love the rosemary English muffins there is nothing to compare them to that I’ve come across! Simply perfect!!!
Love Avenue bread they have great sandwich selection for breakfast and lunch. It’s a go to local shop for a yummy yummy sandwich. I have never had anything I didn’t like and try to always get something different. The service isn’t super fast, but it’s worth the wait!
Consistent quality and smells like heaven - Avenue bread is honestly one of my favorite places to visit in Bellingham, their staff is always friendly and the food tastes amazing. Since they make their own bread in house every location smells absolutely incredible, not to mention has a variety of options to satisfy just about anyone.
Great egg-English muffin sandwiches, really good day old sale items!
Super slow,, $18 for a tuna sandwhich with avo....didnt realize it would take them 30 minutes to make it too. not worth the money or the time, go to the one downtown bellingham.
Had a bltt with sprouts. The kids had grilled cheese. It was fantastic. Really friendly staff. They even gave my dogs biscuits.
Staff were super friendly and helpful. The COVID setup is good and I felt safe. The breakfast sandwiches we ordered (the Beast, one with no meat and one with veggie sausage) were respectably good though not spectacular. Overall very good and Im sure well be back.
Coffee, breakfast and sandwiches, great Bellingham experience
Amazing sandwiches! I loved the turkey sandwich so much that I went there next day and ordered it again
Great sandwiches. Recommendation for sure!
Nice new outdoor patio.
Great food but this Avenue breads employee ease need to keep politics to themselves I want a sandwich not a Lecture.
Excellent food and atmosphere
Went in for coffee place only had two customers, was told to go outside and wait for coffee! Really not at capacity RUDE. Won’t recommend or return
Had a sandwiches were great, cold brew hit the spot, service was kind and quick. I couldnt ask for better for a neighborhood cafe and deli!
Loved the food and customer service was kind and accommodating :)
This spot didnt have soup. Great sandwiches tho
This is a small, busy, often noisy location for Avenue Bread. The staff is friendly, but not always fully-engaged with customers. I was in the store on both the day before and the day after Thanksgiving. On both occasions there were errors in my order. I wish I could say this was unusual and easily attributed to additional for traffic on those days. That said, the bread and pastries are fresh, the sandwiches are deliciously well-designed and nicely presented and the soups are hot and tasty.
Best sandwiches in town, hands down! The staff is super cool, they always make me feel welcome and each visit is an awesome experience! Why dont you try them out and tell me what you think?
Sssshhh...dont tell anyone how magnificent their breakfast sandwiches and coffee are. A well known and firmly established menu, quick service, good value, fills me up.This feels like a secret garden experience whenever I visit. Especially, when I meet up with a friend and we get a window seat.
Nice little spot. I had a meeting there over coffee and I loved the style of the place and the local art on the walls. Coffee was just ok, but the autmosphere made it worth it.
Always delicious!
This place makes an amazing bacon lettuce turkey and tomato on rosemary bread, they are a little overpriced, but try to be quick making your food, which since I usually get food to go, its nice. They also Always have day old bread on sale, which is great with Any cheese and top notch for homemade croutons. Sourdough and rosemary are my two personal favorites. In case youre just in the mood for a nibble they have pastries, savories, and rotating surprise baked items behind glass to check out. Great juice and soda selection, I like the Izze drinks, try raspberry sometime!
Great sandwich. The bread was amazingly fresh and delicious. The staff was super nice and service was very fast. Nice place for a quick bite.
New renovation: I have enjoyed this location since I moved to Bellingham last year. Their recent renovation is nice, and I love the community table. What I don’t like is that they no longer have a bread slicer here, supposedly because it doesn’t fit now. With such crusty (delicious) bread, this is necessary to prevent crushing the loaf when slicing it with a knife. This was a topic of a conversation at a party I went to the other night - several of us were disappointed. Please bring back the bread slicer so I can buy my bread in Fairhaven and not have to drive into downtown just for sliced bread.BTW - croissants are a nice addition for the Eggenue breakfast sandwiches!
The staff was very friendly and efficient and the food was phenomenal. I cant wait to return.
Excellent menu for lunch or pastries with a wide variety of beverages both hot and cold. Prompt smiling service. Warm simple venue that tends to attract warm friendly people .
Yum yum... All sorts of great treats here. The cinnamon rolls are delicious, scones are great, and the big winner at our table was the blackberry Danish. Wash it all down with a latte, regular coffee, or a juice. Great spot, in a convenient location in downtown Fair Haven.
Had a rather disconcerting experience today while getting lunch with my two female friends. The manager (or what seemed to be the manager, as she was curtly ordering the rest of the staff around) was working the register and seemed rather annoyed to have to help us.She notified us as we approached the counter that any sandwich order would take 20 minutes (it took about 3 1/2) and when my friends asked for a to-go container, she refused to even give them a paper bag, forcing my friends you wrap their remaining food in the trey wrappers.Overall it felt like we were being actively dissuaded from eating there, which we likely will if we have to deal with such poor customer service. Im happy to say the food was still amazing, so Ill give the place two stars. Ill give her the benefit of the doubt in that everyone has bad days, but professionalism means not allowing personal issues from interfering with good customer service.
Very boring sandwich.Dry bread, hardly any meat and stale chips. I will not come back.
Staff were not helpful with outdoor seating and had an attitude that they didnt care. Sandwich tasted good, but not a great value at 11$. Not going back due to the unfriendly staff. There are lots of places to eat in Fairhaven that have staff that make you feel welcomed.
Worst customer service at this location. I ordered food again to go and Again received no pickle with my order. I call only to get laughed at and then hung up on. Y’all need to hire adults and not immature kids. This is ridiculous. I will not be back.
Every time I go to Avenue Bread, I leave full and satisfied. This was the first time Ive been to the Fairhaven location. I ordered the Ranch House salad and it was almost more than I could handle! All the ingredients looked and tasted very fresh. The staff was friendly and fairly quick. One thing I noticed right away was that nobody was inside the restaurant (meaning they werent super busy), yet many tables were dirty and needing a wipe up. Other than that, it was a good experience.
Love the food, atmosphere and prices!
They have a decent variety of sandwiches made to order. They dont make the bread themselves, but it seems fresh. Nothing off the charts or original here. Just good, fresh, clean food.
Its a nice place to eat, drink coffe, good pastry and for relaxing
Great sandwiches, breads and pasteries. Prices are reasonable, but slightly on the high side. They use local, healthy ingedients whenever possible and so I can easily recommend Avenue Bread as a great place to pick up a loaf of bread, a meal or a sweet and tasty snack.
The best chocolate croissant, I eat one every week. I also love ordering The Beast on a croissant. Coffee is good and my only complaint is when they sell out of pastries! They also make the best English muffins in existence, we buy packs of those and eat them throughout the week.
Prices are a little high and service was a little slow, but its a nice place to stop and eat in downtown fairhaven I would recommend it
Our goto for breakfast, brunch or lunch.A varied menu, predictable busy periods ( to avoid) and a friendly, helpful staff. Prices reflect location. But not $$$. Usually $11 - 13 / plate.Love the Railroad location also, but...no homeless at Fairhaven location.
The bread here is fantastic which makes the sandwiches delicious. The meat isn’t the best but the bread saves the sandwich!
Good service, very attentive, friendly too! Sandwich was as good as all the avenue breads, they are very consistent! And yummy!
Awesome soups and sandwiches. The bread selection is also one of best around.Their Turkey club and cubano sandwiches are my go to item on the menu.
Fantastic pastry, sandwiches and of course - bread! Vegetarian options. Servers Pepsi soda products. Coffee here - not too good.
Amazing sandwiches, locally conscious, and they have beer...
Fresh and delicious sandwiches. Pro tip: order the London Fog, they use a Lavender Earl Grey tea and its amazing.
Grilled cheese with spinach .......the best 5$ I ever spent
Paid 5$ for brown soggy avocado... got to listen to the servers complain about having to make my sandwich before the larger call in order that came in 30 seconds before mine.Pretty typical morning here. Idk what happened, 5 months ago this place was nails.
Amazing sweet roll, classic mud-hole parking lot. A real treasure of the PacNW.
Avenue Bread is in Fairhaven, which is a fun part of Bellingham. Theres a bookstore nearby and tons of shops to enjoy. Theres a lawn that hosts events from time to time. If you want a cup of coffee or a light lunch, head to Avenue Bread. They have daily soups and sandwiches, both hot and cold. I ordered the cranberry turkey sandwich. It was good, but not as flavorful as I would expect with a cranberry cream cheese spread. It came with chips and a pickle spear.
I like Avenue Bread overall, but Ive had some rough experiences at this location. My most recent, and what prompted this post, was that the chicken on my last sandwich (Californian, Thursday March 29th around 1:30pm) was frozen. To be clear, I do not mean extremely cold, but that about half of the pieces were solid and would have been impossible for me to bite through.Having been to both the James St and Lynden locations during peak hours and had consistently great experiences. Headaches seem to be specific to this location.
Good sandwiches. Service can be slow.
Perfect place for an energy break when enjoying Fairhaven districtA great variety in their menu and loved the ambience.
Delicious bread and sandwiches. Always clean. Just wish the employees would freaking smile. They all look like they hate their jobs or eachother. It also bugs me to see workers texting on the clock from one manager to another.
Always fast and polite servive. Delicious food, large portions and quality ingredients! Also the ambiance of the whole place is spectacular!
As always, the food was delicious and well-preserved. The staff were very nice.
Truly great sandwiches. You will not be disappointed.
The beast with sausage added. Hash browns and a London fog. Perfection.
I love avenue which is why they get five stars. However this is my least favorite Avenue bread just due to the limited space and smaller menu.
Surprised how good it was, and its still great. Excellent breakfasts can be had here
Good food. Very pricey. Tuna sandwich and iced tea $13,50.
Love the savory pastries and sandwiches. Pesto goat cheese twist is my favorite.
Small, friendly, great food. Love the reuben and the tomato dill soup.
In my opinion one of the best sandwich shops/bakeries in Bellingham.
This is one of my favorite go to places in Bellingham. What a great staff.
A good small local spot with tasty soup and craft sandwiches
Great Bfast place. Good coffee and great Bfast sandwiches, fresh made breads!! My 1st stop and now regular stop on my Bellingham visit...
Solid but not amazing. Fresh bread and the sandwiches are good but you wont be texting anyone telling them how good it was.
Good food and nice service, but extremely slow. You need expect to wait over 20 minutes for food- therefore if youre on lunch break I would steer clear of here.
Never disappointed here! Always a Bham favorite
Must stop when Im in the area. Fresh, friendly!
Great food. Great service!
The best bread. Hands down.
Great sandwiches!
A comfy cafe with great pastries!
The best breakfast sandwich ive had in Washington in 3 years
Love the sandwiches
One of my favorite bakeries anywhere
Love the new layout!
Outstanding food, breads and baked goods!
Great baked eggplant sammy!
Nice place to start the day.
Oh, Chicken Curry Wrap is Outstanding!
So good dudes
Delicious sandwiches !! Friendly staff
Perfect in every way.
Friendly staff and the sandwiches rock. I have a couple weekly.
Fantastic sandwiches.
Good food and ambience
Smallest Avenue location. Sometimes it can be hard to find a seat.
