What a lovely surprise! Mango heaven! Mango slushies, ice creams, sago, mango pudding and even mango mochi desserts! And we just happened to chance upon Hui Lau Shan while heading to a dumpling joint next door (Xiao Chi Jie)! We thought it would be fun to get a mango drink while we were waiting for the dumplings to steam next door - and that was an absolutely wonderful idea. One sip of the “Mango Pomelo with Sago, pudding & ice cream hand made beverage” was enough to tell me that I’m going to be back here again. Move over Mango-Mango desserts; this place is real Mango heaven! So the drink vanished in no time (with three of us sharing it), and then we got dumplings next door and came back here for another one of these drinks! This time in the largest size they had! Great work Hui Lau Shan!
My first bad review in my life! I only give good ratings but not this one.The first two pics are what I got from them and the last one was the photo they provided.Ordered from Chowbus. There were two Mango & Pomelo with Sago from their menu, one is a $6.95 drink, the other is a $7.5 dissert. I paid $6.95 therefore it is supposed to be a drink, neglecting the fact that the pic on CHOWBUS clearly shows that I am ordering the DISSERT version. The employee used the excuse that Chowbus used the wrong pic. FINE!! Only $0.55 difference, I suddenly do not deserve fresh mango chucks but only mango jello with a taste of additives??Also, did Chowbus also ask you to make such disgustingly tasting drink too? A big chunk of unblended ice in the bottom. No fresh flavor of mango or coconut milk. Thats also Chowbus problem?I have never had such bad Mango & Pomelo with Sago before in my life. Neither did Hui Lau Shan himself. If Hui Lau Shan himself has tasted this drink, he would probably jump on the flight to Seattle and ask you to shut down the store. It is such a distain to his reputation.Chowbus gave me full refund. I have no problem with them.
Compared to Hui Lau Shan Redmond store, the Bellevue store is rather limited in space. The street parking is also less convenient, sometimes you have to park one block away and walk to the store. That being said, the interior design and decoration is warm and cozy, the service staff is very friendly.
Pleasantly surprised to find this new place in the neighborhood! I tried a warm dessert made of coconuts and papaya as today is snowing and super cold. The dish was good. They seemed to have a wide variety of offerings and it would be interesting to come back and give them a try. Recommend giving this place a shot!
Hui Lau Shan is a refreshing take on desserts. When I think of boba or asian desserts, I usually think of an overly sweet boba drink. Coming to Hui Lau Shan was a nice change of pace. Firstly, their branding is on point. Secondly, you know they are using the highest quality of fruit. You’ll know immediately that they are about the mango (unless you are dense like me). What’s great about their mangoes is you really know that they are the sweetest mangoes. The mangoes they use have the deepest shades of orange. We ordered the red dragon fruit with aloe jelly and a cheese top. It was reminiscent of a fruit boba, but the twist was so refreshing. The red dragon fruit was such a deep pink-red that it looked like it would stain my shirt. The aloe jelly satisfied my boba craving, but it was innovative enough to feel new. What’s great about the cheese top is that the drink changes taste and texture from beginning to end. You start with the chewy aloe, move through the rejuvenating seedy dragon fruit, and end with a creamy cheese top. So satisfying! We also ate the mango pancake. It’s pretty much a mango crepe filled with cream and mango. It was light, fluffy, and satisfying. I definitely need to come here again to order their mango and durian series.
To go for Jumbo Mango chewy bowl was mediocre
First order looked like the advertisingSecond order did not and also didnt come with any mango pieces
I used to visit the Hui Lau Shan in Redmond every other week until they open the Bellevue location. Their food was always good. I have visited them multiple times during COVID to support them as well.I am very disappointed this time as the Mango Chewy Ball I got is raw and hard. They have never served raw chewy ball before and Im quite shocked about it. The mango was good but definitely not the saw chewy ball.I am definitely not coming back to this location unless they look into how their employee is serving food.
Super friendly staff that provided really good recommendations as I looked over the menu. Very refreshing light desserts perfect to end any meal. I tried the mango coconut noodle dessert. Coconut noodles very chewy and unique. Worth a try if you visit.
The drinks here were delicious. I’d recommend anything coconut or mango.
So delicious. Mango ball is the bomb. Totally worth getting covid-19 for.
My sisters and I loved it! The mango chewy+ coconut noodles was our favorite. Pricey but its because everything tastes very fresh
It was okay. Good to try but nothing noteworthy about it. They were out of a lot of stuff but we were there after dinner.Had the mango w chewy ball and sesame paste. Mango w chewy ball was good. Sesame paste was too runny and more bland than what Im used to. Two desserts came out to be $14, which is not bad.Space is very small and little to no seating.
Happy friendly and fun. Perfect date night spot. I hope you like mango!
So yummy, if you like mangos, just go, youll thank me.
